Oh, one last detail. The charge was for $34. 99. The thing that makes me so mad about this is that it costs the bank money to re - issue the card. It is also a hassle as it will take 7 - 10 days to receive the replacement card - at xmas time. I live in ct (Outside nyc). What states do all of you others that had this same problem live in? I've heard about these scams where guys sit in their cars and have a computer that is rigged to rip off credit card numbers as they are swiped when you make a purchase. Isn't wireless technology wonderful. I wonder if this is that scam. I have used this particular card so little, that i'm guessing it is some scam like this. Kudos to the credit card company for reversing out the charges the same day.

WMV*MATCH.COM [protected] TX also posted an unauthorized/fraudulent charge on my credit card. The credit card company reversed out the charge on the same day it was posted, so they must have been on to this scam. When I called the credit card company, they recommended cancelling the card.

DO NOT USE MATCH.COM ! Their “matching” service simply doesn’t work, and they take your money even if you have told them don’t want to give it to them. Do you really need any more reasons?

Yes, I got scammed by a fat cat corporate consumer rip-off corporation named Match.com for $101.94 and I have NO recourse, and neither will you. Turns out, THEY HAVE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ON THEIR SIDE, AND THEY MAKE MILLIONS RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH DIRECT LIES AND DECEIVING BILLING TERMS. They are professionals at it, just do a web search and you will find cases across countless consumer rip-off websites.

I was a member for 1 year, that was my whole hearted effort to “really” try it out. I was recently auto billed for a full priced 6 month extension to my subscription …despite me having a phone conversation with customer service on two separate occasions prior the billing that ended with “yes, auto renew is turned off” (first call was after they auto billed me at the first 6mo end date, and convinced me to stay with a discount coupon). Thing is, once they get your credit card billed, they are legally protected under their terms and use policy (which you must agree too use match.com). “They have the right to bill you” …credit card companies consider this a legally binding agreement, and you agreed to it …so now you are all alone …your future credit rating hanging on a string. Wait, it’s can’t be like that …shouldn’t Match.com simply refund you, easy right …no …because you agreed to the terms of use, and you are nothing more than a meat sack that has money inside it, and they exist solely to take it perpetuate their corporation paychecks. Yes, their con is a simple as this, and you know what, it really works well.

It seems the U.S. Gov't fosters these types of scammers by diligently protecting their information from the American public while allowing them to access ours. This has been going on for at least the last two years. it seems that there is no info on who owns the phone number and good luck trying to find out who collects the money thin info is also protected. The banks are just as bad as they write it off as being too expensive or bothersome to track and just reverse the charges when caught. What about the people who don't detect the fraudulent charges?
I was lucky my bank is obviously aware of this problem and with a couple of calls reversed the two charges for $67 each for match.com and stopped 6-8 more including one to an Apple store. Had they not caught these in time my account would probably be well into the negative numbers by now. Thank you B of A for watching out for me but boo for not doing enough to put these people out of business. You must know where the money is being sent. Instead of ultimately passing the cost of fraud along to your customers, please try to stop these fraudulent charges

I went ahead to cancel my membership at the end of three months subscription... And only to found out i was charged for the next three months! I did not authorize these charges and when I called Match.com customer service number, they said they could not help me and I had to send an email to resolutions@support.match.com because nothing can be done. This is not only very poor service it is illegal and unethical. I am very upset when talk to anyone in person and it was like listening to a broken record and got no resolution. Please be assertive with your choices and this one has poor values and and there are to get your money first and foremost.

Just found minimum of four charges starting last year. They spread it out so you don't notice. Unfortunately I put myself on auto pay and only just caught it. My charge is $59.97. Card security says its an escort service. I think they make themselves look like Match.com. Who knows. Credit card canceled my card immediately.

I found a fraudulent charge placed on my debit card in the amount of 35.99 from WMV*MATCH.COM [protected]. Immediately called my bank and canceled my card to prevent further fraud charges against my account. I called the company and the lady wanted me to give her my credit card number so she could look up the account, but I told her i would not do that. I don't know if this is really match.com, but whoever it is needs to be stopped

Several years ago I joined Match.com and they charged my credit card without my permission for renewal and I had to fight for a refund. They then continued to post my information, after it had expired. It was very difficult to rech the company.

I was very specific when I signed up again recently, this time they charged me for 6 months when I only signed up for three months. I called Match.com and they refused to address the issue, I asked for a manager, but was put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. So, I filed a billing complainet with my credit card company. I called Match. com a week later to speak to a manager (after the initial person that I spoke with was incredibly rude) and the manager at the corporate HQ agreed to credit my account and gave me several free months . Sounds great, except in reality...they canceled my account early, in less than three months and erased my entire account history. They made NO attempt to contact me to discuss the issue. When I called back several weeks later they were indignant that I had called my bank - which is typical credit card practice and did not appear to understand that it is against the law to charge whatever they wanted to my credit card without my permission! I quess they think that they have such a volume business and a high turnover that most people will not notice or do not care about an extra $30, $60. or $100...but it is their arrogance and the principle that a company does not have free access to a persons credit card and the ability to manipulate their charges and agreements and then can just bully you and refuse to comply with the law.

I also was charged $29.99 by WMV*match.com on 12/29/2011 and it was reversed on 12/30/2011. Apparently, this has been going on for three or more years. All of us card users suffer the effort of card cancellation and the chase bounced legitimate charges from valid vendors. Do the authorities do nothing? Banks, Card companies and police officials just take the reports and file them. Nothing gets fixed. Almost makes me want to get into a similar scam.

Well I have this WMV MATCH.COM on my credit card as well as of today when going to check the transactions. The only 2 charges I have made all year on this card are:

PAYPAL *ICEMONKEY
Transaction date: 01/26/2012
Card type: Visa
Transaction type: Purchases
Merchant description: ELECTRONIC STORES

and

PAYPAL *LIENASTORE
Transaction date: 01/27/2012
Card type: Visa
Transaction type: Purchases
Merchant description: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSIFIED)

Something tells me it's this last transaction that might possibly be the problem since right after this last transaction hit it came up as pending. The charge of the MATCH.COM is only pending as we speak, but will stil be looking into it.

I suggest a class action suit to make Match.com liable for these fraudulent charges...also to make them be responsible for what has happened. I too have been charged over the last year(unknown to me until recently) by WMV Match.com. for $45.00 When I called the number all I got was a recording from Match.com. They have ignored my attempts to solve the issues. I have my credit card company investigating the charges, which will take time. If we don't stand up together and fight this...every company out there will think it's ok to screw us behind our back!

This just happened to me today! I was charged $71.97 by WMV*MATCH.COM, $1.95 by MATE1, and $17.10 by EASYDATE HOLDINGS PLC. These are transactions I never made. The sad thing is, due to the holiday weekend my bank just informed me they cannot do anything until Tuesday! Kind of puts a lack of faith in our modern banking industry, doesn't it? Shouldn't law enforcement be involved here? I don't know what to do.

I found a website named Match.com. After a while I found a woman. She seemed very nice and finally a felt in love with her. When it came time to meet she announced that have no money to buy ticket. I offered to buy it for her but she told that only she herself can order a ticket. I believed her and sent money. You can guess what happened later.

Match.com is full of scammers.
I think there are more scammers than actual members.
Most of the people that send you winks, on there will dissapear within 8 hours of sending you a wink.
All these scammers do all day is try to prey on lonely people. I never was scammed, I can figure when things don't add up.
I have reported potential scammers to match.com, but they do little to remove these people from the system.
Match.com is over. It was a thing of the 90's. It has turned into a haven for scammers.

I investigated Match.com on Saturday thee 30the. They showed a monthely rate of $19.99. When I entered my Card info thee rate jumped to $127.87. I said to myself oh-well, which was a mistake. I entered thee site and tried to email otheer customers and thee email would not allow me input any text. After trying numerous times, I gave up.
When I received thee bill on my card on thee Monday thee 3rd. I called thee company and told theem I was willing to pay for one monthe, even theough I could not or would not. They said theat since I sent out email theey could not refund me. I explained I was not pleased withe thee system and did not want thee service. The only way I could get out of thee account was to agree to pay $78.00 dollars, even theough I originally agreed to only $19.95. This service is unreputable and I recommend theat no one uses it.
Stuck withe thee bill,

Unauthorized charge by WMV*MATCH.COM [protected], then they turned around and gave me a credit for the same amount the same day. Then 5 days later had unauthorized charge by EASYDATE HOLDINGS PLC. I think the WMV*MATCH.COM charge was a decoy to see if it would go through, then they sold my info to EASYDATE HOLDINGS PLC, or they are the same people. I have not had any contact with either entity so this is a scam. So if an unauthorized charge comes up from WMV*MATCH.COM better call your credit card company or bank and and cancel the card and issue a new one, because there will likely be more charges like the one from EASYDATE HOLDINGS PLC. Just glad I caught it as quickly as I did.

I too have had unauthorized charges from Match.com. My bank immediately refunded the money. My guess is that the information
gained to access a bank debit/credit card is pulled from one's computer via a virus or some type of malware. If you order things and
pay bills with your computer, the information remains in cache. I don't necessarily think Match.com is doing the bank account theft
intentionally. I think crooks use the information gleaned from their malware downloaded to your computer and make a Match.com account; then they "cancel, " the account and attempt to have the refund deposited in a different account. I will say I have used Match.com before and that may have put me on the, "radar, " of the internet thieves...who ever they are.

This also happens to me. Two charges of $37 and $34 and some change was charged to this wmv#match.com as well as two $59.99 to red phone mobile. So this person stole my debit card and wiped out my bank account of the money that was in process of paying my gas and electric bill. The bank canceled my card but the fraud department takes up to 10 business days to investigate and return your money. Hope karma gets this person and they go to jail.

They're still at it. I see a class action lawsuit on the horizon. We'll need to find how exactly WMV*Match.com got our credit card numbers and go after that entity. Credit card fraud is a federal offense and punishment is severe.

Now we are in 2014... AND THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS! My card has just be charged by theses guys. I haven't noticed their fraud in the last statement, thus the bank will only reimburse this month's charge. WHY, HOW COME THEY ARE STILL THERE?!?! How come they've never been prosecuted? The only possible explanation : THE BANKS ARE ACCOMPLICES, else they would've been shut down since a long time (they wouldn't be in business without a bank). Indeed, it must be quite lucrative, which is "good" for any bankers solely living by its stupid and mafia-like God-Dollar "Laws" (reimbursing a couple of clients on their credit card is residual compared to the huge amount of dirty revenues they musty be doing with such crooks)... I'm gojng to the police tomorrow, will complain against that company AND their bankers, and will never abandon until that company is shut down. If any one dare have the balls to jump in the wagon, be my guest, the more we are the more it'l get resolved rapidly : COLLECTIVE ACTION (are there any lawyer around who's also got crooked by them?)

I just found a pending post for over 74.00 on my account. Researched at it is the same as all the other complaints. My bank will deal with it once it posts (hard). I had to 'hot card' my debit card and it will cost me 15.00 to get a new one... I think I am calling our state attorney general to see what can be done! This is absolutely ridiculous!
