1. We pre-ordered 5 kg of large tiger prawns and collected the order on 24 December 2019 at Woolworths Booval Qld. The order was provided to us in 2 packages. One was basically in a plastic tub which appeared to be pre-packaged from a supplier in Cardwell and indicated a net weight of 4 kg and the other was wrapped up in a plastic bag with a weight of about 1 kg. Attached are photos Pic 1 and Pic 2 of the bar coded price stickers for both packages and a scan of the purchase receipt.
2. It was not until we started peeling the prawns that night that we realised the prawns did not appear to be generally large prawns as designated on the label. In fact there were a few that were almost not worth peeling. That is our first complaint. We have attached a photo Pic 3 of a handful of prawns that we laid out showing size comparisons.
3. The next complaint relates to what we received in weight measure with the plastic tub. The supplier's label shows a net weight of 4 Kg of prawns. However, by the Woolworths bar coded price sticker we have been charged for 4.98 Kg of prawns. After removing the prawns for peeling, we weighed the tub and what was left in the tub, which was an amount of water. That weighed 1.3 Kg. Essentially, we only received 3.68 Kg of prawns from the plastic tub. Photos Pic 4 and Pic 5 attached.
4. We would like our complaint addressed by the reimbursement of the difference between what we paid for and what we really received in weight measure for the contents of the plastic tub. It seems that had we have bought them from the display case, there would have been a better outcome for the pricing and we think prawn size.
5. As far as the prawn quality, they were quite satisfactory but we were just disappointed about the size.
