Overall ok but not where it could be
If I start an order and have to go back to the main menu it doesn’t save the order. Also, I wanted to add multiple gift cards but although there is a button to do so I cannot access them because the screen won’t let me swipe down far enough to leave the add button exposed. As soon as I release my finger from the screen the tab bounces back to the top and the add button stays hidden behind another tab.
Otherwise, I’ve used the app a number of times with the pay in store option and aside from one recent, unfortunate mistake by the cashier it has always worked well for me. I like the meatball subs, tacos, and breakfast sandwich, and I love the customizations you can pick. So, thanks for that!
Lost customer
As sheetz expands and attempts to move into other markets/services they are loosing touch with the values and services in which it was founded.
Until recently I’ve supported the business fully. The last couple weeks of issues (at different locations) has caused me to take my business elsewhere. I encourage others feeling the same way to try speedway, getgo’s, and wawa’s as a better alternative. Food, points, and service is much more appealing elsewhere since I’ve looked for better travel accommodations.
APP needs Apple Pay and better navigation through selections as well as what locations are truck locations. Should scrap this app altogether and start new, first by finding a new developer.
good could be better
they do update it pretty regularly so i’m guessing there might be a change soon but anyway... i’d like to be able to pay on the app which you kinda can do but must do it with gift cards for some weird reason. also if you order with the app it knows your account but won’t just automatically addd points so u still have to scan ur card which leads me to another thing- u can’t add the card to apple pay. instead u have to open the app. credit where due they did put a big red card button in the home page of the app but still it doesn’t beat using apple pay especially cuz it’s always hard to get the code to scan. bugs used to be a big problem now they’re smaller so good job with that keep up the good work.
It needs an overhaul
I have been trying to use this app for a while now, and it has been nothing but problems. My gift cards that I got and put into the app do not work, and have even stopped working in person, whether this is coincidence or because I entered them in the app, I don’t know. Whenever I try to refresh the page and see if the cards work, it’s shows an error saying it can’t refresh the gift cards.
This app is also WAY more complicated than it needs to be. It is such an ordeal to try and pay ahead of time only to say that I still need to pay at the register.
They need to simplify and rework the app, because it would drastically improve my day if I can actually order and pay on the phone and pick it up on my way to work.
Love sheetz. the app is awful
I didn’t eat lunch yesterday.. because of this utterly woeful app. I placed an entire order after connecting my sheetz card to this app. Got through the whole order and it asked if I wanted to pay through the app or pay in store. I tapped pay in store and poof it was gone.. so thinking that the order had gone through I waited 10 mins for lunch to start and walked over to the store. The order was never received so the lady told me that I was more than welcome to place the order there... while there were 15 others standing there waiting on their meals. I would have never had my order in time to eat it. I’m diabetic and have hypoglycemic episodes quite often, and this app made me miss lunch yesterday. Please don’t download this.
It really tests your patience
I only visit Sheetz whenever I visit my parents. There are no Sheetz locations where I live, work, and play. With the pandemic going on, I thought I’d give the in app ordering a try. So I log in. Sends me a verification code. Switch to my email app to get the verification code, and then the app asks me to log in. I log in, and again, we’re back with the verification code. I had to check the email again to see if the verification code was different. Thankfully it wasn’t, so I return to the app, log in for the third time, enter the code and now it is asking for a new password. So, I use a password manager and switched to it to generate a password for me. I switch back, and guess where I am. The log in screen. At this point, I’m done. I ended up going into the store and ordered from the MTO terminal.
Love sheetz, hate their app
Sheetz is great, more of them than not. Lately it’s been unusually bad but everything is unusually bad right now so it is what it is. The major issue with this app, is it malfunctions a lot. It will randomly send orders to the wrong store. It will randomly cancel orders, you can’t edit MTO favorites or even edit MTO food in checkout if you change your mind. The app is not what I’d expect from Sheetz, plus when these issues happen there is no way to get ahold of anyone to get refunds or get problems fixed. No customer support at all in the app and the staff in store have no clue how to interact with the app. Also it’s ridiculous that you can’t cancel orders ever. As soon as it’s placed, the option to cancel isn’t available. So if the app messes up there is no way to simply cancel it and order it correctly.
Network connection failure
Totally useless. I’ve tried at different stores several times. Every time I try to place an order I get the same two messages. First message is “network connection failure”. When I re-try to submit my order I get “too many orders submitted from this device in the last minute.”
I downloaded this app for the sole purpose of curbside pickup.
EDIT 7/17 I’d love to send you my username. Too bad the address provided goes to a restricted inbox and I don’t have permission to send to it.
EDIT 7/22 apparently the developers are too lazy to program meaningful error codes. Issues with the network suggests problems with communication between my device and their servers. In my case they are saying my network communication error is faulty credit card information. Shouldn’t that show up as “payment declined. Please check your credit card info”?
ALMOST HIT THE MARK
I love sheetz. I travel from North Carolina to Buffalo all the time. I would love to see voice navigation in the directions portion of the app, with all the sheetz along the way. You can't drive and look at the directions, kind of useless. It may sound crazy, but when we are traveling and taking a different route someplace, I'm always wondering where the sheetz stations are. It would be killer to be able to use a voice gps app that actaully notifies you when you have a sheetz coming up in say the next 20 minutes. I use onstar and also have a voice nav on my iphone, but would love to see it integrated into the sheets app, even a button that you could hit that you could hit that would tell you the next sheetz on the route at any time. when active it could even just say random marketing things every 40 minutes. Ie. time for a latta datta. etc.
Fuel of bugs
I opened it up, and clicked the sign up button. Right off the keyboard was acting really weird, won’t go down right,and I filled out my information. I clicked submit. The password box, that I have filled out, lights up red. I click on it, and it’s acting all weird again, but sometimes it comes up with an option to use a phone-generated password. Acts all weird again, but finally I get the keyboard off the screen and punch submit. Congratulations, I am right back where I was before, a red line around the password box. So I try clicking on the i next to the box. The keyboard pops up. I hit it again, the microphone and the giphy symbols disappear from the keyboard. I try typing, but the keyboard seems like it’s unplugged. So I hit the i again, and the microphone symbols come back, but I still can’t type. For all the app advertises they do, they should at least get it working
An embarrassing piece of software
Signing in was a nightmare, i needed to update old account information so they sent me an email with a temporary code, so i would sign in with my old information, then it would take me to the screen where i needed to enter the code. I would click over to my email app for the code, and when i would come back to the sheetz app it would boot me back to the new screen and the process would have to start all over again. I eventually got past it using one of the first codes it sent that i memorized, which is an embarrassment to security, and then once i got in i had to enter my payment information 3 times for it to remember it. Then when i went to order it did not let me submit and did not remember my saved payment information. I would hit the submit button and it would not continue. I just gave up at that point. Get this embarrassment of an app off the App store, hire some people who do automated software testing, and get a new person in charge of this project because they are failing on many fronts.
It keeps getting worse and worse
At first I liked this app and it was useful. As they keep updating it it's had more and more problems. With this latest update with 'updated' password requirements now I can't get the code to sign in. This will make me stop going to Sheetz. As much as I love the food and convenient ordering they ignore issues so I'll start going to other places that actually want my business.
It's still broken, and even after my problem was escalated and they told me it was fixed it still isn't working. Then I'm told that it's because I didn't delete and reinstall the app, but it's not working on the website with either Mac osx safari or chrome, and on windows 10 with chrome or the old edge browser or the new edge browser and there's nothing in the spam folder.
Well after two weeks talking to support they finally manually reset my password and now every store I try to order from it says 'sorey we can't complete an order at that store'
It's too much of a hassle to use anymore. I'm deleting it and I'll go somewhere that their online app works.
Glitches and flaws
For the most part it's a good app. But it's not exactly user friendly. I had to create a new account using another email, just so I could add my other sheetz card. I had one before that I no longer use. It won't let me remove it. Keeps saying it's not found. So I just figured I would add my new card as a 2nd card. I tried using the scanner. It did not work. It had no button to begin scanning. Just an X to close the screen. Then it takes you straight back to the main screen. Forcing me to go back into the add card and re start. In stead of just closing the camera and being in the same add card screen. So then I tried to punch in the card numbers. A number screen pulled up to add the card number and PIN number. But then their was no way to close the number screen when you are done. The number screen covers the save button. You can't scroll up far enough to get to it. And you can't close the numbers. These flaws forced me to make a new account. And I lost my offers in doing so. Now I have to rebuild them. Please fix this! Thank you!
The App Works but They Don’t Care For Customers
Recently ANYTHING Sheetz could do to screw you over and nickel and dime you has been done. They removed a drink subscription, leaving only a useless fry subscription. They attempted to Jack up the prices previously by an extreme amount (I noticed it on a $3/4 dollar pizza jumping to $5 dollars, which was ultimately revoked). They are now removing their good brands, likes Gallikers, and replacing it with the cheapest options on the market to gain the greatest amount of profit. They even have removed most of the actual point rewards and replaced them with less preferred options, while ALSO Raising the costs for most of the reward options. I’m honestly done. I’m going to get food here and gas periodically, I won’t be able to 100% avoid it. But I have lost EVERY INCENTIVE TO GO HERE FOR MYSELF. My last straw was the removal of Gallikers tea. It ALWAYS SEEMS TO SELL OUT in my areas from popularity and I always get at least one a day. But I’ll never be caught drinking the Schneider Tea crap.
Yes this review is a rant and the app works for me. But this app is an extension of the Sheetz Brand and I now believe this company is worth 1 Star. Please do something to communicate and ask your customers before you let solely your upper management change things.
PSA: Customer service rep sent me to SCAMMERS!
Called customer service today. I had issues with paying on the app and the website. The rep gave me another number to call. She read it to me several times, so I know for a fact I wrote the number down right. She also tells me that this is the only department that can take payment over the phone. I call the number and it’s an Indian lady. No automated system, no music. Just more Indian ppl in the background. The lady immediately asks for my debit card number to look up my account. I tell her my debit card isn’t linked to my account. She starts to say something else and the call ends. I call back and we have the same conversation as before. She tells me she cannot help me without the debit card number. I start questioning her and the call ends. I call Sheetz customer service back tell them what happened. They tell me that is not the right number and they can never take payment over the phone. So have scammers started working for big companies now? Are their employees getting paid by scammers to send customers to the scammers thinking they are talking to the same company? (Hope you could follow that, but I don’t know how else to say it.) This is crazy. I hope Sheetz actually looks into this and figures out who sent me to scammers. They said they would, but who knows if they really will. Just wanted to warn y’all. If you call and there is not music or automated system, it’s a scam!
Bad service
So I love the idea of being able to order my coffee online and picking it up through one of their newer stores that has a drive-thru, however, it’s pointless if I have to wait 15 minutes for the line in front of me, I might as well go inside.
Also, I have ordered a speciality coffee that I can count at least 3 times something messed up. Once the order never went through, so after waiting for 15 minutes in the drive-thru I was told they never received my order.
Last night I ordered on the way to work and like another time before, I waited at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that I was waiting (hence my order was placed 17 minutes before I arrived)...for just a specialty coffee. The guy finally came to the register and said “I’m sorry mam, it’s been one thing after another tonight”. I get it can be busy, but after waiting that long, I basically paid $4.27 for a water, not sure what he made me, but it wasn’t coffee. So I’m going to make your Saturday nights a little easier on the guy that’s too busy to make quality items and start making my own coffee from home.
I was really excited about this new sheetz coming to Randleman NC; however, I’m not that impressed, I have given multiple chances for them to redeem themselves but this just isn’t working. We just need a Starbucks or a small mom and pops coffee shop.
Lastly, the food has never been great, I pay almost $10 for a meal and it taste like grocery store freezer options that are tossed in the microwave.
Lots of potential, but useless because it’s so unreliable
When it’s working, the app is really nice. The scan-and-go concept is really cool and it’s a good fit for Sheetz, as is ordering in the app, and I like having my gift cards and My Sheetz card on my phone. However, none of it is reliable at all in practice. The app is sluggish to start up, so if you’re at the front of the line and didn’t think to get it out in advance, you’re going to hold things up for a solid minute while it loads everything (or if you’re like me, you’ll give up and miss out on the points to avoid holding everyone up). Even if you do get it out in advance, it crashes often, so it’s likely to do that before you get to the register. Loading gift cards into it is inconsistent. Some cards work and some don’t, even if they’re new cards, and they work just fine if you swipe them in the store or at the pump. Sometimes the app doesn’t load at all. It sits on the splash screen for a minute and then quits. Usually, if it does that, you won’t be able to get into it at all for a while.
The most frustrating parts of the experience could be avoided if the Sheetz app supported Apple Wallet, which would be easy for them to do. That way, even if the app wasn’t working, you could at least scan your My Sheetz card and gift cards from outside the app, without waiting for anything to load or having to deal with crashes. The last two times I’ve been to Sheetz I’ve had to pay with cash instead of the gift cards I wanted to use, because I haven’t been able to get the app to stay open long enough to pay. From now on I’m going to have to walk out without getting anything if I can’t use the cards. Once I get these ones used up, I’m giving up on the app until they can get it fixed.
Non-existent credit card information security???
I'm about to freeze my account and get a new credit card for the second time this month because of the seemingly extreme ease of scamming credit card information after using the pump-and-pay on this app.
For the first instance, I got gas using pump-and-pay (this was not the first time I had used this feature; this hadn't happened the couple times I'd used it before) and I left for work. While at work, I get a fraud alert for a weird, $100.00 charge I got at a Sheetz in some middle of nowhere Pennsyl-tucky town. Couldn't handle it at that exact moment, but in the time I had to wait to handle it, I got another $55 (and some change) charge in a different PA town. Immediately froze my card, filed disputes for the charges, and got a new card. Mind you, this was literally the first time I had to replace my card and change my information since I opened the account in 2016, so I was a bit peeved, but I understood that people just randomly get a hold of your info sometimes and figured that was the end of it.
And now fast forward to today, the second time this has happened (not even a week after my new card came) and phase one of these scammers seemed to have already commenced with an even $100.00 charge from, you guessed it, a Sheetz in some middle of nowhere town in PA, seemingly immediately after I used pump-and-pay today.
Quite frankly, I'm just going to delete the app at this point and encourage others not to even download it, because two different credit cards getting their information stolen twice in a row seems a tad too indicative of a systematic problem in the app's cybersecurity, and I'm simply not going to participate in some weird dance of replacing my credit card every two weeks.

Lack of french/vanilla and cleanliness

On July 31 I bought 29$ in gas and 2 hotdogs. I waited 20 min for my hotdogs and still never received them. I asked once and then order numbers way after mine were coming out and they were also hotdogs. I attempted to purchase a can of Jai Alai beer. The price advertised in the store was $2.99. The employee told me the price would be $4.24. I spoke to the manager and they said they can't change prices if alcohol. Per Virginia law, a corporation is required to sell the item that it is listed for sale. They did not honor that and embarrassed me in the line with other customers.

The app used to be great for me to preorder my food, but with the new update it’s unusable. It’s uglier and it looks (and acts) like a website that’s only half-loaded. Most of the images don’t show, buttons are broken, and worst of all there’s no way I can find to view your bag or adjust your order after adding stuff. I’ve tried on both data and wifi and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Hopefully they’ll fix this because I would’ve given it 4 stars before.

Forces unwanted system update
The only thing I use the app for is to use points for gas discounts since all other functions don’t seem to work most of the time. Today it’s a forced update when I’m obviously not in WiFi and surely don’t want the headache from all the new issues with iOS versions. The prompt says I can download the most recent app that will work with my phone but when I click to download that, it pops up the same error. Also I didn’t like the removal of the coffee subscription.

Awful Wait Times
My order was supposed to be ready at 1:55 Am and the only orders that get put out on the mobile pickup rack is the DoorDash orders. It’s Annoying how there isn’t any Time delay on my order due to the influx of orders. Like I’m fine with waiting longer at home before coming out but being in the store with 58 other people all crowded around waiting for their hot food order Is quite annoying. I even wrote this review while waiting. Add delay times or provide my food on time.

Login code
I tried signing into my account and it wanted me to change my password but it also told me I needed to copy the code they sent to my email. Every time I go out to my email and copy my code, it signs me back out of my Sheetz account and I have to login again and then they send another code and the current one I want to use doesn’t work then I have to go to my email again and it signs me out of my account again, so I end up having to do this multiple times and then it disabled my account! This is so irritating!

Poorly designed app
You guys really need to test these apps before you release them into production. Open up the app to login and then it wants you to enter a verification code. So then you back out, go to your email to get the verification code, go back to the app again and guess what, it wants you to sign in again. So I had to wait till I got home to sign in so that I could use two devices. One to have the Sheetz app open and one to have my email open so I can get the verification code without backing out of the Sheetz app.

No Longer Works
I loved this app and used it often. Recently EVERY time I’ve tried to submit an order I get the following error message: Order Failed: Too many orders submitted from your browser in the last minute. I’ve reported the issue through the website and they suggested I clear my cache/history, delete the app then reload it, done all of that and it still doesn’t work. I’m missing out on rewards and deals because of this issue. Hope this gets fixed or else I’ll just have to delete the app, which is sad because I did enjoy using it when it worked.

Can’t sign into app
I signed up online on my laptop and then downloaded this app for my iPhone XR. However, I tried to log in and It gets stuck on the password field and won’t log in. Ok, so I hit “Forget Something?” and it sends me a password reset email. So, from my phone, I follow the instructions, choose a new password, am able to log in on my Safari Browser. So I go back to the app and I have the same issue trying to log in on the Sheetz app. This is sad. They either don’t pay attention to their app development or the have incompetent app developers.

Can’t Log In!
I updated my app this morning and tried logging in today, it told me my information was incorrect. I figured, okay I forgot my password again, so I reset it. Did that through my email, came back to the app, and it still says it’s incorrect. Just because I could, I reset my password again thinking maybe I typed it in wrong twice somehow. It’s still not letting me in. This is the only access I have to my Sheetz card, and I had points and rewards for my birthday this month that I was looking forward to using. Guess I can flush that though down the toilet.

Prompt, but useless, support
I have a Sheetz account, and have no trouble getting into it on my PC. That’s not hard to understand, right? I installed the app, could not login. I reported that; they replied quickly (nice!) but gave me directions on resetting my password, which I did not need. I told them that, and they suggested uninstalling/reinstalling, which I did. It now took the password, but said it would be sending an email with a confirmation code, which never happened. I reported that, they replied quickly (again, nice), but AGAIN told me how to reset my password, which I still did not need.

Keeps crashing
I normally rarely have issues with my Sheetz app, but earlier today I was able to place an order and decided to utilize the curbside pickup option. However, when I arrived at the store, I reopened the app only for it to crash on me after two seconds. I kept trying to open the app to check-in, but it crashed every time before I could. Tried checking in through the website only for it to say I have to use the app to check-in. I ended up just going inside to get it instead of trying to get the app to work. Not sure what happened, but I can only assume it was the recent update that’s causing it to crash repeatedly.

Not accurate on ‘Offerz’/Lost funds/Downhill App
I’ve been a Sheetz Freak for 3+ years and have witnessed the app slowly go downhill to the point where it is now actively untrustworthy. Whether ’Offerz’ being downright wrong (a recent purchase fell under all guidelines, but did not give discount) OR the loss of funds on a gift card that the staff at the Sheetz were unable to recover (payment terminal froze after payment and had to be hard reset by a team member…. Then re-rung with my gift card balance now zero), this app is no longer trustworthy. I will not be storing funds on this app and will continue to reevaluate my use of both this app and reasons to go to Sheetz.

So many bugs and issues
I got this app because I have a short lunch period at work and cannot afford to wait in line.
Most days, I get a message that says there is a network connection error. So I close out and hop back in and try to place my order again, and am told I can’t order because I submitted too many orders in the last minute.
Now, I’ve lost ALL my points because it kicked me out of my signed in status, and refuses to recognize my email address. I cannot sign back in. I tried to make a new account, but it won’t let me because my email is already in use. I won’t be supporting this app or the store with as much business as I used to. This is ridiculous.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
