I made an order at 10pm over a week ago believing that the order would be sent to my new address in Scotland. I was shocked to find out within seconds of making the order that it was being sent to my old address in Lincolnshire. I immediately sent an online request to cancel the order. On their website it is plain to read that if you make a mistake the company will do its best to amend the address. In my case, I received an email reply within minutes that my order could not be stopped as it had already been packed and was ready to be posted. Do they seriously think I'm that stupid to believe this? I wrote back querying if they really had people working past 10pm packing orders as their working hours are from 9am to 5pm. To cut a long story short, the order was not cancelled - it could have been - but they chose not to bother and it did arrive at my old address (royal mail kept me informed of delivery) but the landlady of my previous address is apparently too busy to send the parcel back to world of books. I'm more disappointed in world of books responses as they come across as copy and paste each time I have written to them without any reference to my complaint. Disturbingly, I'm now receive emails (two to date, yesterday pm late) that this same order is out for delivery. What is going on? I wrote to world of books to ask them what is going on and this was their reply which as you will read bears absolutely no reference to my query: Hi Monica
Thanks for getting in touch.
I’m so pleased to hear your order has arrived and you’re happy with it! E-mails like this make all the hard work worth it.
Thanks again - and if there’s anything else you need please let us know.

I have given worldofbooks a one star review also on Trustpilot. I wasn't going to bother but after this really unacceptable response - see above - that shows their contempt for customers. To improve world of books: read customer replies carefully and make reference to their complaints instead of sending out copy and paste replies that bear no reference to customers' complaints.
Recommendation: Use them, but be wary if their algorithm makes a mistake and sends your order to a different address worldofbooks won't lift a finger to cancel your order.
