World Of Books Would give no stars if possible - Do not use this company

I have used this company before successfully but this time I am seriously disappointed. Ordered one new book and three secondhand. New book is a Christmas present and was informed it would arrive 1-3 days. Now being told that it could be much longer and they won't cancel the order(they have taken the payment). Secondhand books - beware - chose "very good" category - they are not. Dogeared, writing on them. I want to return them all. I have contacted their customer services and have had to send photos three times because it is not being dealt with by an individual - just random people picking up. FB site stopped responding when I said I was unhappy and wished to raise a complaint. I am now pursuing through my bank - disgraceful service

Recommendation: Do not use this company - they take your money then do not reply when there is an issue

I ordered The Pelican Brief by John Grisham and paid for the book on the 21st March but it has never arrived. I have complained and they have sent three wrong books in succession. First i was sent a book on how to look after chickens. The second book they sent was an autobiography by Terry Wogan. The third book was information on how to trace your family...

World Of Books Not upholding special offer

Extremely poor customer service. They don't care about their customers at all. I often used their special offer of buy 3 books get 1 free. I chose 3 books then put a second copy of one of them in my basket but didn't notice when I went to pay that the website hadn't registered the second copy and there wasn't a warning to notify me of this. I therefore missed out on the free book. When I contacted them they basically said tough luck. I was entitled to a free book and they didn't honour it. I was a long time loyal customer but now I know that they don't honour their offers I will no longer use them. Companies that don't care about their customers won't get my custom. Simple.

Claimed loss: £3.50

Desired outcome: I want them to honour their special offer. Due to their website I have lost out on the offer and I really want that book. I have extremely limited funds and £3.50 is important to me.

World Of Books Unable to call your customer service help line, your answer phone just has a message to email the department

I placed an order on Saturday 28th October. The website did not ask me to confirm the delivery address and so the order was placed going to my old address. I contacted your online 'chat' service on Saturday and explained the situation, the 'chat' said someone would be in touch within 24 hours.

I amended my address on my account but I the address you have for delivery is still my old address.

I contacted your customer services by email this morning because there is no option to speak to anyone and your automated response is that you will "be in touch within 48 hours".

If you are unable to change the delivery address, please can I have a refund and I can start the order again.

Desired outcome: Change delivery address

World Of Books No order completion, multiple attempts to contact and no response.

On 2 Aug, 2023, I purchased a book online. The next window indicated my order was received and a receipt sent to my email address The window also stated my order would be delivered in the next 5-10 business days. After 10 days and no book, I checked my email for any communication. Nothing. I then checked my bank account to see I was charged for the book 3 Aug. 2023. Subsequently, I was to the website, entered email and order number, waited, online to be informed my order couldn't be found. I then went to another method of communication requesting I submit my problem and would receive a response within 48 hours. This was last week and I have heard nothing.

Details:

Order number WUS-2308-[protected]

email [protected]@yahoo.com

Desired outcome: A response is required indicating an immediate shipment or refund. If an IMMEDIATE shipment is made, there will be no further complaints from me.

World Of Books No reply on my complaint.

Since the end of May 2023 WOB is not reacting to my mails anymore. I buy almost every day (400-600 € a month) Didn´t have any complaints until now. I tried contacting them by telephone (only info, no use) but no reply. I have written numerous mails since the end of May but no reply. I do get an automatic reply that my message is received and that they will contact me within 2 days but nothing else. This problem goes together with the worsening condition of the dvd´s I am buying. The controle from WOB on the product is much worse than before.

World Of Books The condition of 2 books I bought14/3/23 order noWGB-2303-[protected]

I bought 2 copies of Each day a new Beginning, paying £13.60 for each on 14/3/23 the condition is not what I expected, nor was lead to believe I would receive. The picture on your website shows that written by Karen Casey which is want I wanted, but instead I received a Hazelden Meditation Series Book ( 2 of them) which is not what the picture advertised on your website. The photograph of this book on your site shows it to be in perfect condition also, which is what I believed I was buying, but to get the wrong book and in such poor condition only compounds my disappointment. I believed that I was buying 2 copies of Karen Casey’s book, in good condition (as shown on your website). I believe you are in breach to trade description, showing a picture of one book, and forwarding to me a different book!

Desired outcome: Money back, I don’t think I would trust this site aagain

World Of Books Wrong item sent and no redress

Ordered through eBay and the wrong item was sent. This complaint has thus far been entirely ignored by World of Books.

World of Books only allows eBay transactions to be dealt with through eBay messages, although I have raised the issue with their normal e-mail service as well.

World of Books seems only rarely to check their eBay messages, although I got a form letter acknowledging that I did receive the wrong item. This was signed by a Cosmin R; I have also received an identical letter from an Alex P after complaining through the non-eBay channels.

So far, as I have received multiple copies of the same letters, that every single response I have had so far is a form letter.

Ultimately, I doubt that anything that is not a computer has actually read my complaint.

The title I ordered was Inside Story by Dara Marks, which is necessary for my work.

The title received was: ISBN [protected]

Title: One Life is Not Enough by K. Natwar Singh

Desired outcome: I need to receive the book that I ordered. Additionally, contact with an actual human being who would like to resolve this issue would be appreciated and would prevent me from escalating this complaint further.

World Of Books service

Hi my name is Tony McCreanor I ordered 2 books from world of books Order ID: WIE-2211-[protected] The delivery service through the package over the wooden gate where 2 dogs were barking and they shredded the books on Tuesday 22nd Nov. I do not know who delivered the package. There was absolutely no reason to throw books over back gate as there was loads of space in the front garden that the books could have been left safely untouched.

I would like one of 2 things either have my money refunded or send on two more books in good condition .

This is the first time this has ever happened with a delivery to hse, nobody would throw a package over a gate where there a 2 dogs barking.

Can you please reply and let me know what is going to happen

Thank you

Tony McCreanor

Book was Ronnie Barker - I looked around my close by neighbours but none had pink flower infront of door like on photo.

World Of Books Over Charge

Re: Order - WGB-2207-[protected]

This is the second communiation that I have sent on this issue.

The three books purchased under the above order number were all on a buy 3 for 2 deal - however, at check out the discount was not applied and I ended-up having to pay for all three. Given that they were under an offered deal that fact that you have not honoured that deal you are potentially in break of contract and also potentially inviolation of a number of statutory protective legislation.

I would appreciate your response and satisfatory review of the matter at the earliest opportunity and time

Thank you

SG

World Of Books I would avoid this firm at all costs because it will cost you time, effort and money

They also sell on Amazon. Purchased a book, they sent a foreign publication ... said the book I ordered was not in stock. Return the book to "address" ... so now 30 days later, no refund and out another 2 shipping charges, you see the "address" they said to send the book to was bogus. So the post office made me pay return shipping to myself to get the book back. I would avoid this firm at all costs because it will cost you time, effort and money .. along with some bad vibes running through your head.
