Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling ABSOLUTELY THRILLED!

ABSOLUTELY THRILLED! All started when our *** Tankless water heater died and David came out to assess. Short story our unit was replaced. Then asked for quote for new furnace & A/C. Fair price and was installed in a week! Another amazing crew Will and his helper. Then, just our luck 2 weeks later our water line to our fridge failed and they came out promptly and repaired! THIS IS OUR NEW BEST FRIEND AND COMPANY!

I've been a zenner and ritter customer for more than a decade - they have installed my furnace, central air, water heater, and whole house generator. I pay the annual maintenance fee because they told me that not only do they check and maintain the furnace, air conditioner, and whole house generator but you also give priority to maintenance contract customers on your 24/7 call line. I started calling their repair line Friday when my generator stopped working (they installed it just a year ago and did an annual maintenance check just a few months ago) Their answering service was no help whatsoever and stopped working late Friday night. I finally got through to generac and the rep helped me figure out some possible causes of the generator not working. Eventually I was able to get it running for a few hours at a time. But then my furnace wouldn't restart. Just a call back from a technician would have been appreciated. I was once a zenner and ritter customer for life, but now you've lost a customer for life. Their maintenance contract is a joke., and borders on fraud. I will be expecting a full refund.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Nate G*** worked VERY hard all day!

Nate G worked VERY hard all day! Was here @ 830 am and finished the job @ 630 pm! And I don't remember him taking even a lunchbreak! Definitely an employee many companies would love to have! And a very efficient person someone would want doing the work on your home! Many other employees of Zenner + Ritter here at various times during the install of 2 generators. All were very efficient and understanding of the little barking dog! Lol

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling So far we’ve been very happy with this company

So far we’ve been very happy with this company. We had an estimate done by their technician Brian for possible installation of a new home generator. He was very courteous, very professional, and very knowledgeable. He explained everything to us in a manner that was easy to understand without being too wordy. We haven’t made a final decision yet, but are very strongly leaning towards Zenner and Ritter for our generator installation. Thank you!

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Our A/C was not working, we called Zenner and Ritter

Our A/C was not working, we called Zenner and Ritter. Our technician, Jim B was professional and courteous. He fixed our problem which was the sensor that malfunction for the fan motor. He also talked about maintenance plans that the company provides for the upkeep of furnace/generator and A/C. We did not feel we were being pressured. Jim answered all our questions. We feel that Jim did an outstanding job and excellent customer service.

This is the best of the best. Between this summer's experience and today's work; they stand above everyone else. Especially in professionalism, customer service and quality of work. I will not call anyone else. Their technician went beyond expectations this summer to find a problem and fix it. He coud have just said I need a new unit, but he found a problem in a part and fixed it. WOW! If you need any specific information, please contact me directly.

I have been extremely satisfied with the service from Zenner and Ritter over the years for my furnace and generator. Service Representatives on the phone are always courteous and helpful. Service Technicians are knowledgeable and top notch. A special recognition for service technician Richard Moss who is excellent and whose recommendation I place a lot of faith in as he is both knowledgeable and attentive to any needs he identifies. Great company-my highest recommendation!

The whole experience of working with Zenner & Ritter was a breeze. Our AC unit broke down on a weekend... their customer service rep was courteous and informative. The service tech (Sam) was excellent. He was courteous, knowledgable and professional. He had the AC up and running in a short time. He pointed out some things to us, including ways to save, so... while he was at our home, we had him perform service on our furnace as well (long past due). Simply overall great service. I can easily recommend them to anyone.

They are respectful, it was like family doing repairs on my bathroom pipes. My home is Old, so they had to open the wall to access them. They came prepared w/ All supplies and wore masks w/ the covid issues. They were on time and sent me updates on their arrival along w/ pictures of who would be coming. Mark A., and His partner... Well I can't say enough! They cleaned up everything when they were finished. I give 5 stars. This is the 3rd time I have used them, and will continue to do so. Excellent prices, work time EVERYTHING! They had me in tears from the respect I received...THANK YOU! ? Stay safe & Thanks so much

Our tank less water heater that Zenner and Ritter promoted and installed broke down a 2nd time in 5 years, and is unrepairable due to bankruptcy of the manufacturer and lack of parts. We are still waiting for a response from Zenner and Ritter after the supervisor spoke to us 2 weeks ago about a possible credit. He promised me that he would get back to me…This was the 2nd time with no response. We had to purchase another well known heating unit from different company to get hot water again. None of the 3 technicians that worked on the unit were familiar with it and were a little surprised that Zenner and Ritter sold it to us.

Purchased a 22kw *** Generator from Brian L @ Zenner & Ritter. Great experience, great product knowledge and professionalism. Got the 7 yr extended warranty and the financing I requested. Who could ask for more? UPDATE: Had a preventative maintenance service performed on my Generator today by Nate G. Nate was pleasant, professional, competent, thorough and patient when I’d ask him questions. I even scheduled next year’s PM today; hopefully I’ll get Nate again. I’m so satisfied with Zenner & Ritter so far that I’m considering putting them at the top of my list when I need to get quotes for any and all services I need that they provide. Thanks Nate and Z&R! You rock!

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling First let me say that Kenneth did a great job!

First let me say that Kenneth did a great job! He gets 5/5 stars. However Zenner and Ritter I am not happy with. Over the weekend we found out we had a gas leak coming from the boiler that’s only 2 years old and Zenner and Ritter came out in December for its yearly maintenance. I was informed when I had the boiler installed that if we did our yearly maintenance that if anything should happen that it would be covered. But when I called them in Regards to the leak their owner told Kenneth that they don’t even check for leaks during their maintenance check ups. Then what is the point in even coming out? He then told Kenneth that he needed to chair me for the visit, parts and repairs. Kenneth was very kind in only charging for the visit as he understood how frustrated I was.

We had a great experience with Zenner & Ritter with installing duckless HVAC in our house. To start, Earl came out to our house and gave us a estimate right on the spot before he left unlike other contractors we had come out. Earl was very knowledge, not pushy, and confident on how to do the job. They kept us well informed on when they were coming through the whole process. Wil and Phil were our installers for us and they were great to work with. Very quiet and very knowledgeable, but they showed up on time everyday and worked a full day. They actually got the job completed one day early which was nice. They were respectable, and did a great job cleaning up any mess they made. Phil seemed to get phone calls from other co-workers on jobs they were doing and after the job was completed, I learned he was the best guy they have for installing duckless HVAC. I would highly recommend this company as they are well knowledge and professional.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling We had work done by Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Inc

We had work done by Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Inc. about 2 years ago. The whole process was messed up and they broke some things in our house. This complaint is about the work they did in our basement. The basement ceiling was closed off before, so we couldn't see what they did. Now that I'm fixing things in the basement, I noticed that Zenner & Ritter cut 18 inches out of a floor joist to install duct work. This is really bad for the house's structure, you know. I took pictures of the really bad work they did. I also contacted Zenner & Ritter today (11.2.2020) to try and get it fixed, but they haven't helped me at all.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling I bought a new furnace and AC unit from Zenner and Ritter

I bought a new furnace and AC unit from Zenner and Ritter. They've been out many times and for long hours to fix issues with the furnace not working right. Today, the AC isn't working at all. We've asked them multiple times for copies of the work they did, but they won't give it to us. We've spent so much time at home (using vacation time) waiting for them to work on the unit. It's time to replace it. Your own technician said it was installed wrong, and we've had nothing but problems. Either replace the unit or give us a refund so we can have someone else install a unit that won't keep breaking down. We can't keep taking time off work for your technicians to come and fix a new unit again and again. Unfortunately, since it's under warranty, we're stuck with your technicians.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling I had an appointment for a price quote to install a generator from Zenner & Ritter

I had an appointment for a price quote to install a generator from Zenner & Ritter. I called them based on the attached coupon in a coupon mailer that came to my house. I provided the coupon to Brian (Z&R Employee) which offered a 7-year warranty. I was instructed that the warranty would be valid when we have the 'chip' installed that ensured the WIFI was monitoring the system. Chips were on backorder but when one was available it would be sent to me and I should contact Z&R to do the install. The chip arrived in July and I promptly contacted them and then followed up with a phone call to determine the extension of the warranty. I was told I only had 5 years. When I contacted the manufacturer, they told me that Zenner & Ritter had no authority to offer this extended warranty. I followed all procedures I was instructed to follow and as of yet have not had a response from either the manufacturer or Z&R giving me the extra 2-year warranty. This is false advertising and both the manufacturer and Z&R should be responsible to provide the extended warranty as per the coupon advertisement.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Last year in 2020, the owner of Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Inc

Last year in 2020, the owner of Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Inc. advised me to get a dye check if the Freon leaked out again. In August , I called and inquired about the dye test before agreeing to it. They informed me that it would be checked within a week, and the cost would be $773. I agreed, but only on the condition that they would return within a week, as the serviceman assured me. Unfortunately, nobody contacted me, so I had to call the company myself. They informed me that I had been given incorrect information. I expressed my dissatisfaction, as I had spent extra money on the dye test and had been provided with inaccurate details by the woman on the phone and the manager. They mentioned that sometimes they don't come back at all or only return when the unit breaks down again. This was not what I had been told, and I had paid for a dye leak test with the expectation that the unit would be fixed or replaced based on the test results within a week, as the repairman had repeatedly assured me. I requested a refund of half the money until they completed the job. However, the manager refused and stated that they would check it in 6 weeks on Columbus Day. When I called to confirm their visit, they informed me that I was never scheduled and that they might not come back at all. In another state, I had a dye test done, and it was completed on the same day. I consulted with two other AC professionals, and they both agreed that the company should return to check it. I am now seeking a refund of half the money, as the job was not completed, and I am unhappy about paying for something that may or may not be finished until next season. They have not fulfilled their promises, and I feel deceived.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling On 11/3 we got a new furnace from Zenner and Ritter

On 11/3 we got a new furnace from Zenner and Ritter. When the new furnace started, it smelled and set off my smoke alarms, which they said is normal. After a few days of running constantly, it still had a strange smell. We didn't have this smell before the installation, so I called the company on 11/6. They sent a supervisor who confirmed the smell but couldn't find the cause, so he suggested cleaning the ducts. Again, this smell wasn't there before the new furnace. A few days later, around 11/12, I smelled gas in the basement, so I called National fuel to check it out. They found a gas leak in the new furnace at one of the joints. I called Zenner and Ritter again to fix the problem, which I thought they did. The technician said one of the pipes wasn't even tightened. But then, a few days later, I smelled gas again, so I called National fuel. They found a second leak in another pipe from the furnace and a leak where the joint connects to the hot water tank. So, on 112/15, we called Zenner and Ritter again. The original installer came and tightened the area. But I still smelled gas, this time from the pipes near my water heater. Zenner and Ritter refused to fix it, claiming they didn't cause any other leaks when they installed the furnace. But we had no leaks before all of this. I called them again today, 12/2, and said I still smell gas from the furnace and someone needed to come out. The lady (I think her name was Maribel) said she wouldn't send anyone and told us to call National fuel. I'm really angry about how this has gone. It's putting me and my family in danger.

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Furnace cleanin' was scheduled for 11/13

Furnace cleanin' was scheduled for 11/13. After the job was done, the technician said I needed a new exhaust fan 'cause it might fail this year. He also said the blower wheel was a bit dusty, but fine for now. But then, a few hours later, my heat started droppin'. I called 'em back 'bout the problem. The technician said it was 'cause of the exhaust fan. He originally said it would go sometime this year, not a few hours after he left. But he wouldn't come back to fix it. The next mornin', the house was down to 55 degrees. I called 'em again 'round 7:15am and talked to the answerin' service. They said they'd order the exhaust fan. But I didn't hear anythin', so I called again 'round 1:00pm. The staff person said 'cause it was the weekend, the message wouldn't be seen 'til Monday mornin'. They'd fix the problem then. I asked for my invoice when I talked to the staff member 'cause they never gave it to me. I also called someone who used to work for Capital Heat 'bout the issue of havin' no heat a few hours after the technician left. They found out the technician left the pressure switch hose danglin'. It wasn't connected back. There were also cobwebs, leaves, and a leaf in the furnace, and it wasn't cleaned. They reconnected the hose and I had heat again (took some photos too). I went to the company on Monday mornin' (11/15) to complain 'bout the service and the fact that I called 'em 4 times with no solution for heat. I talked to a manager who said she'd talk to the technician and get back to me. But the manager never followed up. I paid $95.70 for the job, but I don't think the service was good. It was also disappointin' that the manager didn't care enough 'bout the customer to follow up. Invoice #

Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling I bought a new furnace and AC system

I bought a new furnace and AC system. They were supposed to install it on Sept. 19, 2019. But after the installation, they found out that the heat function wasn't working. They admitted that the furnace was faulty and replaced it on Sept. 20, 2019. However, on Sept. 25, 2019, I called for service because the AC wasn't working properly. It ran for hours without changing the temperature. The technician, Jeremy, couldn't figure out the cause and scheduled another technician, Steve, to come on Sept. 30, 2019, to evaluate the problem. Steve suggested that the vents should ideally be 6 inches instead of 4 inches because cold air is heavier than hot air. This should have been discussed during the estimate process. They also installed a new thermostat, but Jeremy never contacted me as promised. The AC started working correctly after Sept. 30, 2019, probably due to the thermostat change. On Dec. 30, 2019, there was no heat again, so I called for service. The heat started working before the technician, Greg, arrived. He couldn't find any problems but explained the sensor lights for future reference. On Jan. 24, 2020, there was no heat again, and I called for service. Ray arrived and said that error code 2 indicated a problem with the pressure switch. He didn't have a new switch in his truck, so he manually freed the switch and the furnace started. He promised to send someone the next day. On Jan. 25, 2020, technician Phil came and said that the pressure switch rarely breaks in a new furnace. He found that the furnace wasn't installed level, which could have caused water to collect and trigger the switch error. He leveled the furnace and installed a new pressure switch. On Feb. 27, 2020, there was no heat again, and I called for service. Technician Josh said it was the pressure switch again. He found PC scrapings in the furnace that were causing the problem. He restarted the furnace, but it kept starting and stopping multiple times and showed an error code 4 (overheated). He attached an extension to the outside vent and removed the furnace filter, suggesting that I run it without a filter until I could buy a cheaper one. He said the new furnaces were sensitive, and it was a windy day. I bought a less expensive filter the next day. On April 13, there was no heat again, and I called for service. The furnace restarted before technician Jeremy arrived. He said that error code 6 indicated a lockout and that the furnace would try to restart itself after a couple of hours. He removed the exhaust extension installed by the previous technician but couldn't find anything wrong or the cause of the error. He promised to contact Steve, the tech adviser, and get back to me, but I was never contacted. On July 20, I called the office to speak with Jeremy and find out the status. I had told him during his April service call that I couldn't go through another winter with these problems. However, I never received a call back from Jeremy or anyone else. I called again on July 22, and the office representative said she would pass on my message to Jeremy, but I didn't receive a call back. On July 27, I called the office and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with Andrea, who reviewed the service call history and assured me that either Jeremy or she would call me back with an update, but I never received a call back. I called three times on July 29, to speak with Andrea, but she was supposedly never available. Again, no call back. Since no one has been able to identify or permanently fix the problems, I believe the furnace is faulty and needs to be replaced. Having seven service calls in less than a year is ridiculous. The furnace is a lemon, and I can't go through another winter with these ongoing issues. I've tried to resolve this problem calmly and civilly, but they have ignored me, which is unacceptable.
