I have been billed for a month after I cancelled my zone contract.
To whom it may concern.
I opened a Zone Fitness account at Westgate Mall Mitchell's Plain and my contract expired the end of June 2018 as I was told.
So I followed the necessary arrangements and cancelled it before then.
I understand the premiums should have gone off the end of June which it have, however one premium still went off end of July.
I went in and informed them of it end of July and spoke to Lee.
He has been making empty promises to me informing me I will be called first by Head office, then I was told that the person working with these types of case would call me Monday the 13/08/2018 .
I had to call back now on my own airtime yet again and was told by Lesley that that specific guy is still on leave for this week, yet no one cared enough to call me to inform me there of and there are no substitute to take his place in his absence.
I requested to speak to the manager and she is only coming in at 08h30 and Lesley took my details and informed me she will call me back, which she has not done yet.
I will call back at 9 as I have informed him, if she did not call.
And I will not pout down the phone if I am positive that it will be sorted today, or I will go to the police station and lay a charge for theft, because this payment was unauthorised and now they are delaying everything by not paying back my money.
Kindly urgently assist anyone.

My name is helen langa, the gym recently contacted me and told me i'm owing more than r5000.00 for missed payments that had absolutely nothing to do with me because I instructed them to debit my account. No one is willing to assist me in this regarding and it is so frustrating. I went to the gym and a guy who assisted me emailed the query to the head office but i'm still unable to get help. Zonefitness is failing dismally to resolve my complaint. They keep sending me from pillar to post.
pathetic service from the lenasia store
I was pregnant in December when the guy said I should join it will be frozen...I phoned in January to cancel as it was never frozen...to date nothing has happened. Now they giving me a story of 60% cancellation fee when I was in my time. The store in lenasia has been messing me around since then. It is now sitting by the manager that isn't interested in contacting me and also doesn't want to provide me with any contact details for the head office

I eventually paid up the account and when I contact Zone Fitness in Promenade they told me I must still continue pay the remaining 9 x months on my contract.
How can I have an active contract if I signed just for 2 x years which expires long time ago. I did not sign or request a new one as I was paying off my first contract.
Which means you automatically renew a contract without consulting the client.
I really would hear from you as i am not using your facilities and I didn't sign up again.

I'm writing this letter with huge concern, I join Zone fitness a few weeks ago, today I experienced such horrible service from one of your employees, I was at the gym and I went to take a shower just before it closes the lady came to let me know at the ladies bathroom that the gym is going to close soon I told her I will be quick after like 3min of speaking to her the lights in side the ladies changing room switched off by the staff members while I was still in the shower the place was pitch black and I felt my life was in danger, as I was still naked in the bathroom any man could have walked in and raped me and I wouldn't even know who was it or I could have slipped on the ground as the floor was wet and broke my leg, and the company would have laid liable for the damages I had to find my way to my stuff in the dark I scream to inform the lady that I was still in the shower but she just said she's coming back and never came back, I understand yourl close at 3pm but my understanding is closing time is 3pm but not shut down everything, I'm actually thinking of suing the company of such danger it has caused, when I left the toilets after dressing up in the dark with my phone light I asked to speak to a manger which his name is Stanley and his excuse was "we close at 3pm so we switch off the lights at 3pm "without notifying the memebers, what disappoints me the most is the attitude of the manager and if he treats members /clients like this in front of his junior staff what kind of example is he setting, he even said his not going to listen to me cause the gym closes at 3pmI have been with Virgin Active before and I only moved to Zone fitness because it's closer to where I live now and this has never happened before am not sure if this is your standard of service I'm actually thinking of canceling my gym membership based on the service and danger to my life . In Feb 2017 I've join Zone Fitness in Sable Square, but in April I hurt my back and was unable to attend gym. I've then tried contacting the guy that signed me up only to find out a couple of months later he does not work there anymore. I've then had a lady helping me, she did not want to cancel my contract but put it on freeze for 6 months. My 1st instalment should have been 01.04.2018. In March I've emailed the lady and a week later I got a undelivered mail. Went on to the website to log a call, but it just freezes all the time. I kept on emailing them on a different email and to date no response, but 01.05.2018 they deducted the instalment. Today I'm trying again to log a call and the stupid website is freezing again. If I don't here from then by tomorrow I'm contacting the Ombudsman.

My gym membership account has recently been debited twice by Zone Fitness Bellville. Today marks the 6th time that I have gone to enquire about my refund. Each and every time that I have gone in I have to write down the same details (Name, contact number & refund amount). Throughout the 6 times that I have been to ZF Bellville I was helped by a "Senior Manager" anthea who does not have a single managerial bone in her body and a M.I.A admin lady called tessa. Round about my 4th or 5th visit to ZF Bellville I have requested to speak to the Operations Manager lishka who has seen me standing numerous times at the front desk but only communicates through anthea and the rest of the ill trained staff at the branch. I am confident lishka is aware of the issue but does not have the decent or even know to address it. I still have not received my refund and I keep getting referred to come in the next day. Zone Fitness_all gains no brains.

My boyfriend from Australia joined as a 1-month cash member at the Willowbridge Zone Fitness in September 2017. He paid upfront. As he does not have a South African bank account, he did not submit banking details. My cellphone number was given for contact.
This week I started getting calls and SMS from Zone saying his membership is in arrears. I told the people on the phone it is impossible, it was a 1 month membership and that no-one has been paying cash. The membership was supposed to be closed after the 1 month.
So upon further investigation, it turns out someone else was allowed to use and pay his cash membership at the counter and keep it active. All my boyfriend's details and my cellphone number were disclosed freely on the phone. This is basically identity theft.
When the boyfriend (on the phone form Aus) and then I tried to stop the membership, the people on the phone were useless and said it must be cancelled by the member in writing. But what, I as you, does a limited duration membership mean? The contract only lasts 1 month. And it is limited to the person in whose name it is.

I joined Zone fitness November 2017. People who signed me to join never told me that i will be owing if i dont go to gym. I tried to cancel my gym contract but they telling me i am owing while i never even pitched for gym session from January 2018 till now. I love zone fitness and I really enjoyed the service they delivered in all of Cape Town. I even kept on paying my account when I stayed In Franschoek as I new maybe one day I'll return to Cape Town CBD.
I would like to bring to your attention the great disappointment I have encountered this morning when I saw my account has still not been cancelled after two requests that I want to cancel.
I had to move to Kleinmond for occupational purposes, started 1 Nov 17. Before I left I confirmed with the desk clerk at Cape Quarter to cancel my account she said unfortunately I have to cancel with the Life Style center as this is the initial place I signed up. So I did, the gentlemen informed me that this will be effective for not that month but for the month after, which is understandable as you still have to cover my account for that month. However this morning when I went on my account history I found this payment has still been going off every month.
I request that however form the month of Jan till to date that this will be sorted out and paid back to me.

My contract was expired december last year... I have been phoning and sending emails to the accounts department. I find no joy.. Instead they keep on saying they will comeback to me... If they respond I have to explain same story again.
I do not know what to do anymore... As I am getting letters from the lawyers.

Last Year we went to Zone Fitness to take out a Contract. We spoke to A Sales Agent name NANCY and we did advise her that we did not want a long contract as we were planning to go back to Durban. Anyway after a month I sent a email stating my daughter is leaving and she should be removed from the Contract which was done. We told Nancy next month we are leaving so she gave me an email address to send A CANCELLATION of contract which I did. There after Ellen replied stating if I am cancelling I need to pay 60% of the contract. I was upset and asked her to get Nancy and she must call me. Nancy And Ellen called me and Nancy did inform Ellen my claims are correct so Ellen stated everything is sorted out. No contact was made after that so I knew everything was sorted until yesterday I received a sums from A Lawyer stating I owe Zone Fitness money . I called the number and was by the lady Zone Fitness has handed you over
I explained the lawyer the situation and was advised that Zone Fitness need to sort this out. I emailed Ellen and she called me and stated I am lying so I told her please to Nancy because maybe she have forgotten. Ellen stated even if Nancy agree I am still liable to pay this contract. I have the recorded conversation.Today I sent another email as Ellen was suppose to call me and did not. She got Nancy to speak to and Nancy did confirm that everything according to her was sorted out because that day after I spoke to her Ellen spoke to me and stated all is ok. I will not pay for something I did not use. I contact they head office and have sent an email I am awaiting there response . If this mess is not sorted out I will Sue Ellen and Zone Fitness

Hi in August it was suppose to be my last month with zone fitness so my contract ended in August 2017 I spoke to a Lady by the name of Fadzai who I believe should have cancelled my contract as she said she will do so but the debit order is still going on until today zone fitness they are so unprofessional she kept on asking me for my details which I head sent to her in the beginning of our convention I will never again become a member of zone fitness.

I tried several times with email and appointments with branch manager of the above mentioned gym to unfortunately is getting worse.
Not only me but more other members did the same, we have a problem with management brought to table regarding morning aerobics session.
we wrote cards of complaints sent emails but we are never heard.
we feel we are not of value to zone fitness Pretoria Central since we are not heard.
we simply requested that Mondays morning and Friday morning we can please have Smartie for morning aerobics sessions and Tuesday and Thursday Frankie just like before. Please HELP!

l'm currently having issues with zone fitness Pretoria Central they termineted my contract due to false allegation.
The the issue was that l was training with the group of people where as we enjoy working out together. Only to work up last week on Thursday . And they accuse me of being personal training where as we where gym as a group.
So the Manager decide to terminate my contract and leave the rest of people that l was training with which is not fair. My rights have been twisted here.

I went to the gym at zone fitness for the first time this morning after my session I then realised that I needed induction, I then requested to the receptionist that I needed induction, she showed me an aerobics class and said I must go to that class, I asked her to do what, she said the instructor will induct me when he is done with his session at 8am, I told her that I have to be at work by then and she said there is nothing she can do the induction is only at 8. She was so rude. I logged a complaint about this and there was no response, I then called to cancel my membership.
I asked to change the date of my debit order to another date and they refused telling me it's impossible. I asked to cancel my membership fee and they told me I have to pay all the amount remaining at once instead of installments. I had a debit orders go through even after I paid the gym manually. They debit money on dates I didnt authorise, I have also asked for my account statement but I still have not recieved it. It's the worst gym to be honest, also the sales consultant filled in the form on my behalf stating it is their responsibility to do so and he signed me up for a 24 month package instead of the 6month deal I had asked for. Save yourselves guys.

So I took out a membership at Zone Fitness Rondebosch, becuase it's withing walking distance from my house. I have been using the gym and with the odd broken treadmill and having to wait to use a bike, I have been satisfied. I pay my R199 every month religiously and on arrival at Gym on Monday the building has been vacated. I called Zone and asked them what's going on they claim to have told all their members about this ? When i signed up I gave them my cellphone number I swipe my gym card daily could i not have just been sms'd to inform me about this. So I got a hold of a Zone fitness sales consultant and explained to her that I have the membership because it's next to my house I pay on time and if they cannot offer me a service i am paying for then I need to cancel.

I signed up for membership card in January if I am not mistaken, I was willing and wanted to gym before I even started the guy by the name of Andre from Commissioner street who was helping me with my application started calling me and texting me at night of which didn’t sit well with me and asked him to stop calling me of which he didn’t and continued till my Fiancé jumped in. He then called me again apologizing and I asked him to cancel the membership as it was before the 30 days and he promised he would as he didn’t want me to report him as he would lose his job.
3 months later I get a call from a lady by the name of Hilda who advised my account was outstanding, I told Hilda what had happed and thought the membership was cancelled in January already and she (Hilda) said she doesn’t know what to do but will see what she can do and come back to me of which did not happen. I then sent Hilda an email in May after getting SMS’s which she didn’t not respond on as well.
Now I am getting emails saying my account is overdue and legal actions will be taken.
I feel so harassed by Zone Fitness Gym, I no choice but to also advise my Legal representative about this issue as I am not getting any joy from anyone even the collection lady herself Hilda couldn’t even help or failed to respond to my email I have sent.
Hilda could have done something if she was doing her job well as she is the one who called me.
I pass by the gym every day and to think my opportunity to be part of such a nice gym was taken away just.
I will not be paying for services i did not use at all as i was told te account would be cancellled.

I changed my banking details and one of the ladies called me and I gave her my new banking details and was told it will be changed. This was the 28th of august. Its the 05 of september and debit order for this month went off my old account. I have told and phoned countless times that this needs to be done as I will not pay the extra cash and told them this is gonna make it even more difficult to close my old account has the debit orders keep going off my old account!
Yourl are quick to open a contract, quick to ask for money but damn slow to change the banking details like ive asked countless times!
Change my banking details or cancel my contract - I am not gonna ask again! If I see debit order going off my old account again, you will cancel my contract and I wont pay anything.

I've been trying to cancel my gym membership due to financial difficulties. I came to your gym 3 times already to cancel but success. I came by mid June to cancel and I was told its too late to cancel the debit will come through. I reversed the debit later in July and I went to the gym again by end July to cancel. I was told that I cant cancel because I was owing the money that I cancelled. I paid the outstanding amount with the interest and I was told that the money will take sometime to clear in the system. In August I received a couple of calls and sms's from the gym demanding August payment with interest. On the 25th August I paid R260 and today the 29 August 2017 I went to the gym again to cancel and I was told its too late to cancel I must first pay for September premium. I'm writing this email to inform you I don't have money, I can no longer afford to pay the gym membership and that's why I went to cancel from the first place. My gym membership contract expired by October 2016 so I was on a month to month contract. Can you please cancel this contract ASAP. I cant afford it.

My husband submitted notice of cancellation of his membership on 18 January 2017 .Leigh Petersen from Bellville sent the notice/email to Paula Burger to assist with the cancellation as the notice served was 20 business days notice. On 3 April, I emailed Paula to say that the membership had still not been cancelled as there had been another attempt to debit. Paula emailed me back to the account was in arrears, I had to remind and resend her the from Leigh where we gave sufficient notice. I called her and she apologized followed by an email on 5 April 2017 stating that the contract was immediately cancelled. Still...attempts at debit orders are being made. I am disgusted and irritated that these people can't do their jobs properly, the level of service is uncalled for.
