In January 2020 I opened a Zone Fitness account. Unlucky for me end of March 2020 the Covid pandemic changed everything. Zone Fitness debited my account because they said they could not cancel debit orders for the month. I contacted Zone Fitness and after multiple attempts I had the pleasure of the assistance of Ms Hajiera Gyer. I expressed to her telephonically and via email that I wish to cancel this account as I don't see it fair to pay for a service that I can't use. I told her that I also have comorbidities that prevents me from using the gym. This woman refused to assist me in my requests. According to Zone Fitness they cancelled all debit orders for the covid period, but I have a statement that proofs otherwise. In September I found out I was expecting and contacted Ms Hajira Gyer again informing her of my situation and the fact that I have doctors reports as to my comorbidities and that I can't go to the gym and yet expressed my thoughts on paying for something I can't use that was out of my control. In November of 2020 Ms Hajiera Gyer sent me an email of the black Friday promotion they are running where you can cancel your contract with a discounted fee. By this time, I have cancelled the debit orders myself as they didn't stop my debit orders during Covid. I was happy about this and willing to take the Black Friday deal just to have her email me again to tell me I don't qualify because my account is in arrears. The next year the Nimble group started calling me about this account and I explained the situation to them. I emailed them my doctors' certificates and they said that I was within my rights to cancel the contract because of Covid. Then I thought the matter was dealt with. This year the calls started again, and I contacted the ombudsman. Unfortunately, I could not provide proof requesting a cancellation as I have deleted those emails. But funny enough Zone Fitness could find other emails I've have sent regarding this account but not the ones to Hajira Gyer and the ombudsman informed me that they don't have the authority to investigate in this manner. Last week I called Zone Fitness again to try and resolve this matter and the consultant said that ALL their managers are busy. She took my details and said that they will contact me. I am still waiting. Another person I also expressed my need to cancel this contract is Cornelia and apparently, she doesn't work there anymore. I am utterly disgusted by the level of dishonesty in Zone Fitness saying that they didn't debit peoples account for the covid period and did exactly that. Claiming that I cancelled the debit order before they established this arrangement, which is also a lie because I have the statement where it proves I didn't. And then there is the horrible, rude and totally disregard with which Ms Hajira Gyer handled my requests and concerns.
Desired outcome: Bill me what I owe, minus Covid and the money already taken..
