A Flexible Payment Option with Some Room for Improvement
If you're looking for a flexible payment option, Affirm could be a suitable choice. Many customers appreciate the convenience of paying over time without hidden fees. However, there are some concerns raised by users regarding customer service and credit approval processes. It seems that while Affirm offers a convenient way to manage payments, there might be room for improvement in terms of transparency and resolving issues efficiently. Overall, Affirm provides a useful service for those seeking payment flexibility, but it's essential to be aware of potential challenges that some users have faced.
Stupid

Honesty
I have been an Affirm customer for several years and as a Senior Citizen I can truly say this is one of the Best companies I have ever used as far as honest and fair practices. People listen, you can feel secure with EVERYTHING they promise in they're marketing. This company has more Integrity than most. I'm very very happy and comfortable using them. I would love to add a photo or video but don't know how, sorry.
Affirm is simple, and great. Just know what you're doing
It's so simple. You can create your own loan and use it wherever, or you can pick a store. Once you get approved, you can pick your own payment plan. If you want a lower monthly payment, then you will pay more in interest over time. You will always however, have the option of paying it off which will save you on interest. The more loans you have out, the lower each new request will be. I've used affirm a lot while rebuilding my credit. Anyone who says it's a scam, just doesn't understand what they're doing.
Multiple purchases and boosted my credit!
Idk how there are so many negative reviews but to each his own. I have taken out about 7 loans some that I paid off within the first month, others I have went the duration of the term. The loans really helped my credit history out as well as proved that I have a substantial amount of income to not miss a payment on all of my obligations. Long story short affirm helped me out big time by getting me over the hump and I have a beautiful 2019 AMG Mercedes sitting in my drive way that I just purchased in February 2021 with a great APR as well. If you treat affirm like a credit card and use it wisely it can help big time
So far, so good
I recently took out a loan. I was given a 5k line of credit. I used about 2900 of it ordering a new computer. Financed for 6 months. So now I get to get my computer with a lot less stress for $100 in interest. They sent me a text notification 5 days before my autopay would be withdrawn. I decided to make an additional payment and was able to make that payment easily on their website.
Yes, it took about a month to get my product, but Affirm had nothing to do with that. Affirm allowed me to get an additional credit line so hopefully when I pay it off my credit score goes up even more. It's going to hopefully allow me to do the same thing with some other larger purchases in the future.
I have read many negative reviews and it seems like most of the negative reviews are people who do not understand how credit works. Affirm does not ship your product. Affirm does not prepare your order. They give money to the company you want to buy from so you can get the thing you want to buy with less stress on your finances in the near term.
So far Affirm has been a breeze to work with and I appreciate that I can now pay for my $3k PC and peripherals every month and have less stress
I am so thankful for Affirm
Affirm has helped me so much. My credit has gone up, if I am late making a payment they charge no fees, no company does that! I am able to purchase something that I normally wouldn't have all the money for. And their payment plans are reasonable. Yes they charge a fee to use their services but they have to make money too. And honestly I don't think their fees are that bad. I just decided to write this review just to thank Affirm for all they have done for me. I hope they are helping others out as much as they are helping me. I don't know the owner or creator of Affirm but if you ever see this, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THANK YOU SO MUCH. You have no idea how much you have helped me. I was someone with bad credit and they gave me a chance and now because of them my credit is considered fair and it keep going up. I was able to get my son nice school clothes and school supplies because of Affirms payment plans. I just can't thank them enough. Oh and if that's not enough their customer service is the best. Very nice people that work there. I'm so thankful to have found Affirm. I will never stop using Affirm. Thanks again. And NO I do not work for Affirm or am connected to them in any way, and they did not ask me to write a review. I am just another thankful customer
If you debating on if you should use Affirm or not? Do it, you will not regret it.
I love Affirm , Very easy to use and I am very happy that I am able to get what I need when I need it thank

I tried to use it for Amazon purchase, and it was terrible. Their website kept given me the same error in a loop saying looks like I have already had an account and should sign in. However, their system doesn't even allow me to make an application. I called them 5 times the other day, and their representatives does not even listen, and they do not provide any solutions. Completely terrible company and customer service. Do not use them. They should not be allowed to operate in America. The *** is the way better, one call and they fix everything.
I paid for a trip on Expedia and canceled same day which is eligible for full refund. Expedia processes same day as Ive canceled with them same day in the past. The airline charges typically take 4 days and drop off. Not with AFFIRM! I told them that Expedia refunded the total amount 3/20 and Affirm said "its your bank". I said I FINANCED THROUGH YOU! Ive had 3 disputes and the grasp of the English language is shoddy at best. I was told to send evidence. Ive sent all the Expedia cancellation emails. Ive contacted Affirm repeated asking if I have sent sufficient evidence as I dont want to extend waiting time. They said theyd reescalate my case. What?! No one gets back to you they just give you abitrary wait times saying someone will so that you go away. The time comes and you get nothing. *** made a complaint with BBB and will be contacting news teams because obviously not enough people know how awful this company is. If I knew their customer service was such a joke I would have NEVER used them. More people need to know this.
I used a certain online service for ordering fruit trees from nurseries. The virtual card they provided would not be accepted at the nursery, and the customer service at this company is horrible. They are evasive and eventually stop responding to your emails. They effectively took $283 from me for a loan, and now I have to pay cash for my fruit trees because their virtual card was useless. I strongly advise against using this company.
Affirm has been helpful to me
Affirm has been helpful to me. The way their website is set up makes it very easy, in my opinion, to manage my account and payments.
Affirm has been reporting a derogatory account on my credit that has been paid in full. I called and emailed the customer service department where I gave them proof that the account had been paid. They opened a claim and said they would have this resolved within 14 days. 14 days go by and they have done nothing. Now they say that ive gotta wait even longer to get this issue resolved... The issue is keeping me from being able to obtain a mortgage and they could not care less.
Used them a few times, had a larger purchase that had to be returned, I followed the process exactly from the vendor...AFFIRM however is slow to return my funds. They refunded a portion but not the full amount. Why? When I called they confirmed the outstanding refund but still nothing after a week. Why? I no longer have the item and they are just sitting on my money.
I had a sudden death in my family
I had a sudden death in my family. I applied for an Affirm loan and I was approved in 15 seconds. I am very grateful for Affirms prompt approval and Amazons fast delivery. It is truly appreciated that this loan was approved so quickly. Again, a very sincere and humble Thank You?
I have used affirm over and over. Today I was doing another transaction with them that was approved and the down payment was taken out of my bank account, when I went in to use the approval code it didnt give me an option to do a digital card as it has in the past so I could not make my purchase and it kept telling me that the lender was unable to approve my request at this time. I called customer service and they told me the loan had been canceled before used and to be able to get another loan I would have to wait. I explained that they had already approved me for a higher amount than what I was using for the purchase but it wouldnt allow me to use my remaining balance for a different virtual card. I was told I would have to wait to re apply and receive my pmt refunded for the loans first payment go figure Im setting with money out of my bank account for a payment on a loan I dont have
I am on hold for a minimum charge. I did not receive the product from the vendor nor did I receive notification of payment issue for
No customer service worth anything. They offer you loans from fraudulent businesses, then want you to make payments while disputing the purchase. Terrible, Terrible business.
Agreed as referenced below:"Biggest fraud ever. They should be arrested!" I was sent an item from a merchant I've never heard of and an order that I did not place. I contacted the merchant and they advised that "this order was placed using an Affirm account. Unfortunately, we are unable to see any payment information when Affirm is used, because of privacy reasons." I called Affirm to report fraud and they could not verify anything. They confirmed that they could not locate a record or an account and kept asking for more personal information to "confirm my account," ...obviously they were trying to add information to their records in order to validate their fraudulent activities. I told them that I have not established any account with them, however, the merchant states that the order was produced through "Affirm". They could not pull up anything, because I don't have an account. THIS COMPANY OPPERATES A TOTAL SCAM! I would give ZERO stars if I could.
Im so impressed with Affirm that Im now canceling out my credit cards and moving toward using affirm Love everything
Im so impressed with Affirm that Im now canceling out my credit cards and moving toward using affirm Love everything about them Their Service is Best Ive ever received ( Im old ) Thank Affirm for looking out for consumers and offering excellent credit services for all over the world ?
We received an item that we had to return. After months of back and forth with affirm we still have not been refunded. I was able to confirm that the original Merchant had refunded the item. We attempted to send emails of the return to Affirm and they still say that had not been refunded. Amazon has even sent us a confirmation code. We have decided to stop doing Business with this company.
On December 8th, 2022, I was approved for a loan to buy an iPhone SE from Visible, a new phone carrier that I had just signed up with. Through Visible, the loan company 'Affirm' contacted me and I set up the loan with automatic withdrawals from my checking account. The total amount of the Loan was $626.77 to be paid off over two years at $26.12 a month. Visible turned out to be a horrible phone carrier and for more than two weeks I could not receive or make calls at all. And I had just been diagnosed with Cancer. I couldn't contact my doctors. So, I contacted Visible and canceled my service. Then I packed up the iPhone and shipped it back to Visible on Tuesday, Dec. 20th, 2022. I have the delivery receipt to prove that. It was delivered and signed for on Wed. Dec. 21st, 2022 at 10:02 am. Then I got an email from a representative at Visible on Dec. 20th informing me they couldn't cancel my loan with Affirm until they had received the iPhone. I had just given it to the courier that day so I knew they would get it soon. Then I got an email from a customer service agent at Visible on January 6th, 2023 telling me in order to cancel my 'Affirm' account they needed more information. I sent it. They said they understood, and told me it would be taken care of. And, by the way, you can't talk on the phone with Visible. Chat only. It makes it very hard to get things done. On the 10th of January, 2023, I got an email: I'm Elyza with 'Affirm' telling me they couldn't cancel my account because my name on both accounts didn't match. My full name and my nickname. Because they cannot figure out that my nickname is short for my full name. The birthdate, address, bank account, and phone number were all the same. So they asked me to send a screenshot of the original email from 'Affirm' confirming my account. Which I did. Since then I have had a number of phone calls with 'Affirm' and the story remains the same. At this point, it really feels like 'the run around'. I am so frustrated. I hope you can help me resolve this dispute.
Absolutely horrible experience. Never filled out an application but was denied and when I tried to look into it by calling, emailing and doing a live chat, no one would help me. They have my information but wouldnt release anything to me or tell me anything.
I have used AFFIRM for years and years and have spent atleast 4-5K with them and have never been let down or had issues
I have used AFFIRM for years and years and have spent atleast 4-5K with them and have never been let down or had issues with them, i downloaded the moble app and use that to moniter activity and set up auto payments and they work great, i LOVE that i always get the 0% options on things i buy, why would i use my own money up front when i can use theirs at 0%
Asked for all my personal financial info during application process
Asked for all my personal financial info during application process. Then asked for photos of me and my license. Provided it three times, each time said it was too blurry (i could read the info on the license just fine). Then booted me out of the application process. I expressed my concern in a live chat with the operator and they booted me out of the chat when I told them I felt scammed.
Affirm is 1 of the best credit companies out there
Affirm is 1 of the best credit companies out there. Theyre fair, honest and their customer service is top notch. They work with many different merchants, Priceline, Amazon, Wayfair etc. They process credit quickly and efficiently and they work hard to make sure you get refunds from returned items. If you made payments before the refund was processed, they credit your account ASAP. Great company in my experience!
I really love Affirm
I really love Affirm. They have been a life-saver for me. I believe that Affirm is one of the best companies I have ever seen and dealt with. They always go above and beyond to try to help me and others. The customer service representative I spoke with was amazing. They helped me and stayed with me through all my questions and problems. I truly love everything about Affirm so far. Thank you, Affirm, and thank you to all the customer service workers. You are the best.
I financed my Peloton treadmill through Affirm, but I decided to return it for a refund
I financed my Peloton treadmill through Affirm, but I decided to return it for a refund. Unfortunately, I lost the payments that Affirm had collected during the six-month period. I have been unable to find anyone to speak to or file a complaint with. So, even though I saved some money by shopping around and doing my research, Affirm caused me to suffer a loss. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson that these types of convenient services often have drawbacks. They prioritize reducing expenses but lack effective problem-solving strategies, often leaving customers feeling ignored.
I see a lot of negative but I took a chance with them to begin my tattoo career as an apprentice
I see a lot of negative but I took a chance with them to begin my tattoo career as an apprentice. I needed $600 for a machine and me with not so good credit currently I tried it... I was approved! I put auto payments on and when that was done I tried another. I think I've done like 6 loans with them. I pay on time (auto pay) and interest is less if you pay it off sooner. If you have some credit issues and needing something asap. Give them a shot! Definitely no issues with them
Believe it or not, it is actually possible for a hacker to improve your credit
Believe it or not, it is actually possible for a hacker to improve your credit. Although I don't usually engage in such activities, I am extremely happy with the outcome. I now feel like I have no worries since I hired Jerry Link Group ([protected]@gmail.com) to fix my credit. I came across their services on this platform and decided to give them a chance. They offer a wide range of services for individuals with poor or bad credit. I am so grateful for what Jerry Link Group has done that I want to give them a 5-star review. Affirm Review: Great for Buying, But Watch Out for Refunds and Returns
I've been using Affirm for a few months now and it has been a lifesaver. I can finally buy items that I would have had to wait for otherwise. It's like having a credit card but without the interest, which is great. However, I recently had a store dispute and it didn't end well. I purchased an item for $178 on eBay but had to cancel the order the next morning. The seller was giving me some trouble on refunding as she stated she would be charged by eBay. I didn't know what to do, so I called Affirm. They said they would reach out to eBay and they did. The issue was resolved in a few days, but my prequalified balance went down to $2. Yes, two dollars. So, now, instead of having a $700 prequalified amount, I have $450.
I called customer service to see if they could fix it, but they said no. I was being punished for having to cancel an order. I've had a number of loans over these several months, most only $100, but a few were more. I've never once been late and most of the time I've paid early. So, it's frustrating that I'm being penalized for something that wasn't my fault.
Now, I have $25, but not $100 right now. I explained that to them, but no one cared. It seems like they're tired of me using the service without interest. Although I've applied to pay over a longer time than six weeks, they refused me. So, my ability to buy has pretty much ended.
I still recommend Affirm, but be careful. Don't overuse it and don't have a refund or return. It's important to note that my prequalified balance might not stay at $450 once this is paid. It might go down even more.
I'm sad that Affirm won't listen to me. I've worked hard and lost weight, and that sale would have given me a nice boost. But, I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.
Affirm.com Complaints 35
DO NOT USE AFFIRM, THEY'RE MORE OF A SCAM THAN ANYTHING ELSE!
So, I just moved into a new home and at that time my credit score was 831. I had to buy tons of costly items I didn't already have because of "hardwood" (tile floors that are supposed to look like hardwood but fall wayyyy short on look, comfort... You name it). So, I needed to buy area rugs for just about every single room. Also, the home is much larger than my former one. 1 rug cost me ovet $400. I needed 8. Plus the normal ones you'd put down in the kitchen. Threw out a lot of 20 year old things I've been using and bought all new. I needed another Flat screen for the family room. That's where it all went wrong. Bc I felt I was dropping my score too much, I saw a 65" HD at Walmart. It asked if I wanted to use affirm. Since I not only needed the TV, but drapes and rods for the dining room, plus the extra speaker system, I decided to apply. They gave me $1200. With a 831 credit score, I only got $1200 and 19.89 APR. Are they kidding me? Anyway, the TV was completely SHATTERED. Called Affirm, called Walmart (I hate Walmart and never shop there;the TV was a good one and great price) bring back the TV I was told. I said ok, there's another one right near me, can I just swap them out? "NO! You have to wait up to 10 business days for the credit to hit your account. You can apply for more credit at 30.97 APR" I said, wait! I have over $490 left on my line of credit you gave me. They told me I no longer have that and must wait for the return. I told them I'm holding the return receipt in my hand. They did NOT CARE, and. This was a supervisor! I didn't shatter this TV, but was being penalized for it. The next day, we went to BJ's, I just put it on my credit card and. Got the same TV, except it was much better quality and had things on it the Walmart special didn't. Was packaged so well, ya know, how you'd expect a TV to be packaged. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT EVER apply for affirm. Especially if you have amazing credit like myself. I just didn't want my score to drop anymore and if you add more credit to your availability of such,.;you won't be using a percentage of your previous available credit, but your NEW available credit. Terrible company! Oh, and once my return finally went through Affirm? They didn't adjust my payment terms, they spread out the little bit over 12 months instead. Such a horrible experience
Terrible service, fingerhut is a better place to start. Terrible customer service
I've tried various loan companies, to start building my credit. Tried Affirm, got denied, which I thought was possible. But, the customer service, trying to get a human on the phone, and one that knows anything more than the computer already told me, is impossible. I've wasted more time, just trying to delete my account here, than its worth.
This may be a halfway decent place to use for emergencies. But, they don't report regularly to any credit burrows, just when you have a late payment, and can't get an extension. But, I'm sure when you call to ask for an extension, you'll just get the computer telling you it didn't understand d what you said, tell you to wait, they are getting a customer care representative, the get disconnected after 15 minutes of aggrevation. I'd stay away from this place. Only reason I tried, is that Mint Mobile offered it when I was looking for a cheaper cell provider. That's another nightmare and rip off.
I mean the whole cell phone prepaid/contract thing...
Prepaid, you'll pay higher for, get less service for the cost. Every contract I've signed, over the last 15 years, has ended terrible. From all 3 major carriers.
All Is good for about 6 months, then, the double billing starts, with no explanation, and none of the cust. Serv. Reps could explain it.
All they say is, your paying for this month we are in, and next month... ok, but I'm on a premium plan, with good credit rating... so I go ahead and pay the double... next month, same thing happens. Call them, and no body can understand my problem.
If I'm paying for this month we are in, and next month... then next month, I'm paying for that month and the following month again, that's 4 months I've paid for. Why can't anyone, including managers, and after hours n hours on the phone, at the store, in person, and everywhere..., nobody can see how that is wrong. They just can't explain it.
All I get from them is that I'm in a contract, and will pay a penalty for ending it early.
Seems like it's all planned from the beginning.
No doubt about it.
And, until everyone starts standing up, doing something about it, they get away with anything.
That's fraud, and with telecommunications, why don't the FCC get involved.
It's time for everyone to start taking action against all the people.
I don't mean storm the capital or anything violent, or illegal.
I mean making it known, force the news to cover it, make someone accountable.
Until then, the small, average, middle income, and low income people will suffer.
I'm not political, hate being out front of anything, and just want to live my life, peacefully.
But, something has to change.
This country is sick...
And it's getting worse.
What do we do.
None of the politicians care, or they get forced into looking the other way, because campaign money comes in from there big companies.
There has to be a change, or what we are proud of, being free, living in the USA,, this will all be gone.
It's already starting.
Average, good, proud Americans, are starting to wake up, and hate this country. And for good reason.
Sorry to turn a simple review, into a rant.
It's just getting old, all going to hell, and I hate to see it happen.
I'm proud to be American, my family fought for this country, for our freedom.
But, things are changing, very fast, and most don't see it happening, or know what to do about it.
Let's think of something people, somehow, save this great country...
Sorry for the long review, and getting off topic, but it's all the same old stuff. If your not rich, or well off, you get screwed, by everyone.
Just think about it. And try to help, in any way possible...!
I contacted this company to inform them that I did not receive my goods and requested a refund
I contacted this company to inform them that I did not receive my goods and requested a refund. They responded by saying they were unable to help. I opened a case with Affirm on December 31, 2022, at 06:20 PM PST. I received a message from Affirm on January 4, 2023, at 07:01 AM. The message was from *** at Affirm's resolutions team. They apologized for the inconvenience and asked for more information about the issue, including details about the purchase, any communication with the merchant, and evidence to support my claim. They also mentioned that if the loan is eligible for dispute, it could take up to 30 days to resolve. They reminded me that while Affirm handles the financing, the merchant is responsible for fulfilling the order and any refunds or cancellations are subject to the merchant's policies. They thanked me for my patience and provided contact information for further assistance.
I responded to Affirm on January 10, 2023, at 07:34 PM, stating that I had already provided the requested information and that I had requested and been approved for a refund but had not received it.
Affirm replied on January 11, 2023, at 07:13 PM. The email was from *** at Affirm's resolutions team. They explained the merchant dispute process and mentioned that I needed to contact them within 60 days from the loan processing date if I was unable to resolve the issue with the merchant directly. They asked me to explain why I was disputing the purchase, provide evidence to support my claim, and supply proof of my efforts to resolve the issue with the merchant. They informed me that my loan with *** (ID: ***) was processed on October 21, 2022, and as a result, Affirm was unable to open an official dispute because it was outside of the 60-day dispute window. They advised me to continue working with *** for a resolution and provided contact information for the merchant. They reminded me that refunds, returns, and cancellations are subject to the merchant's policies and that I am responsible for repayment unless the merchant refunds the loan. They mentioned that if the merchant provides a full refund, any payments already made will be refunded to my original form of payment within 310 business days. If the merchant provides a partial refund, the final payment may be lower or there may be fewer payments overall, depending on the amount of the partial refund and the remaining payment schedule. They stated that Affirm will not adjust each installment based on a partial refund. They provided contact information for further questions or concerns.
Overall, the communication from Affirm's resolutions team was polite and informative, but unfortunately, they were unable to assist with my refund request due to the timing of the loan processing.
My account has been accessed fraudulently twice in the last two months
On 03/16/2023 I attempted to make a purchase three times, all for $3,914.32, and was unable to each time. All three times I used Affirm as the payment method and was approved, but was unable to book any of the reservations. Affirm states that Delta Vacations is "Processing the loan" for two of the three attempts. The Loan ID for the two "processing" loans are LVYT-1N7F and YXIP-P28I. I received no conformation from the merchant and no purchase was made. I am requesting for both of the "processing" loans to be cancelled. I have called Affirm and they wanted me to "wait it out" for possibly 30+ days. The loan approval emails states' "We've approved your loan, but it won't be confirmed until Delta Vacations starts to process your order, which could take up to 3 days.". It has been over 10 days and the most that they could do is file a dispute for which they said I need proof. How do you prove that you purchased nothing? I was given the case # ***.
Close to Christmas 2022 I made a purchase using Affirm. Everything went like it was supposed to. Then close to the end of December I made a second purchase again using Affirm to advance the money.. But realizing the item was not what I wanted and what I wanted was out of stock I contacted the merchant within 20 min. I believe and was told I would need to call again in the morning as it was all ready late so I call first thing the next morning and got the transaction cancelled. I have the proof of that.from an invoice they provided me. . But for some reason the merchant did not return the money loaned to affirm till march 8th 2023. Now Affirm want to penalize me for that and charge me like an interest fee of $7..78. I tried to contact them several times but they are not willing to take the charge off. On the Affirm invoice or statement page they also show that the transaction was cancelled on march the 8th. That is not accurate as I have a copy of the invoice from the merchant that shows the transaction was cancelled close to the very beginning of 2023. I feel the reason why Affirm did not get the money back from the merchant right away till march the 8th(after I called the merchant to inquire) has nothing to do with me and therefore I do not feel I should be penalized for that. On top of that Affirm has no need to lie on their statement and act in a dishonest way! On march the 8th after I contacted the merchant the merchant had contact with Affirm so I would think they explain clearly the situation to them and the reason for the delay.
I want the account removed as it isn't valid. This company validated a loan which should have been removed after I disputed it. The never reactivated the online payment feature and next thing I know is that I'm receiving a discharge email when I was even allowed to make the payments. They aren't willing to work with me even though I facing financial hardship. The company is horrible.

Affirm made unauthorized payment to my bank account, and they refuse to refund this amount back to me also
Due to unauthorized payment my bank account go below zero and the bank charge me fees $96, I contact customer support 4 times, and they refuse to send me email or letter to confirm payment error to be able to ask the bank to reverse this fees
Worst customer service experience

Due to this I can't get credit due to this item on my report.Being denied credit with other agencies due to this.I filed complaint against affirm and the party involved.Affirmed ignored.my direct complaint though there website. But added this to my file.I want it fully removed and compensation due to them violating the fdcpa and fcra.
Claimed loss: 6,000
Desired outcome: Full removal. And compensation for violating fdcpa, fcra and other laws.Violating my rights to have clear and clean report.
My account is messed up
My affirm account has been messed up for months, they say they had it fixed but nothing. I email and call with no response and no help. There was a fraud charge on my accounts. They finally ruled it fraud and reinstated my account. But they are still trying to pull the money out of my bank account for the fraud charge. So I can not use my account. Never sent a card or virtual card . Ect
Desired outcome: Just want my account fixed and some training for effective customer service
Loan for tires
I purchased a set of tires and had them installed on 4/22/2023 at the West 11th, Eugene OR location. I also purchased an oil change. I used Affirm to pay for the majority of the tires. I then see a similar loan for $422 set of tires for Mohawk St, Springfield, OR, Walmart location. I have disputed this with both Affirm & Walmart. Walmart cannot produce any proof of me picking up the tires although they claim I did. Also they couldnt provide any paper trail on it. At this point if I dont pay for the false loan my credit rating will suffer. What other recourses do I have?
Desired outcome: Cancel the false loan.
Refund
I booked a trip through affirm 5/29 my trip was cancelled due to airline delays and cancellations . Although upset , there was not much more I can do than accept the outcome. Refunds were issued but Affirm is still withholding / charging me an interest rate for a trip never taken. I've called since the day of the trip 7/17 and they refuse to issue me 79.00 back . Which is crazy considering I'm out of pocket for traveling insurance and a partial trip I took to make a connecting flight that ended up being cancelled (310.00) . It has been a bunch of runaround . Nobody in customer relations is on the same page as I'm having to retell the situation repeatedly to every one I speak with . It's just ridiculous that they are holding onto money for services not rendered which in essence is stealing . I would and will never use affirm again . The process to get money back has been tremendously horrid
Desired outcome: 79.00
Forced to open account and provide confidential information for paying back the loan. Only debit card or bank account accepted.
Took a $273 on Amazon.ca, 3 monthly back payments, approved with minimum requirements, but no notification about the mandatory account opening, ID verification and payment methods in order to pay back the loan.
With such conditions I would never request a loan, I would never provide my ID, personal photo, bank account, mobile number and email address all together to anyone other than forced by law.
Moreover, the only payment options are debit card with CVC (no CVC on both my debit cards) or bank account, but no credit cards.
[protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: Accept the credit card had with Amazon.ca (same name and address). Change your conditions or clearly inform customers about them, and condition the loan approval, not the back payment, by the fulfillment of your conditions.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Affirm: My Review
I've been using Affirm for a while now and have taken out over 29 loans with them. I've always had an excellent pay history until recently when I was hit with Covid-related illnesses that affected my ability to pay. I knew that my savings would be depleted by October 2022, so I started requesting assistance from Affirm in June 2022.
Unfortunately, my experience with Affirm's customer service has been less than satisfactory. I had to go through 4 different representatives of their Global partners, and there was a huge language barrier that made communication difficult. On two occasions, I asked to speak to a supervisor, but instead, I was sent the Covid Assistance Form.
In addition, Affirm would have me screenshot the error message received after the assistance completion. If Affirm had approved the Covid Financial Assistance Form, everything would've been on track without causing negative credit reporting issues. However, it was intentionally blocked over 29 times to process the forms.
Due to the date of my deposited funds, it would always be 5 - 10 days after the due date. When I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, their response stated that they would call me before placing derogatory items (Past Due Payments) on my credit report. However, from different phone numbers, they would wait for me to answer the phone and then hang up. It's one of their tactics to make the customer call even though they've spoken to one of the representatives 1 - 2 hours ago.
When I finally spoke to a representative, they told me that they could not remove accurate information and would not remove it. This has caused a lot of stress and frustration for me, and I would not recommend using Affirm. Instead, I would suggest using Klarna and/or Afterpay, which have better customer service and are more reliable.
Affirm's Verification Process is a Nightmare: My Experience with Walmart Shopping
I've been using Affirm for my Christmas shopping on Walmart's website for years now. I always make sure to pay on time until the balance is zero. However, I recently had to update my phone number after moving and that's when things went downhill.
Affirm kept telling me that the old number I provided didn't match their records, which meant that I couldn't be processed. It turns out that they had the wrong number on file, but I was the one who had to guess what that number was. It was unbelievable! I had to submit so many requests and forms, but the end result was always the same.
When I complained to management, they were no help either. They told me to use different information, but I had no idea what that meant. It's ridiculous that a phone number is more important for verification than a social security number, address, or even a copy of my driver's license. The stupidity of it all is unreal! They lie and promise to send emails that never arrive, which is supposed to help solve the issue.
I wonder how many other customers have been wrongfully blacklisted over such trivial things? It's just not fair! And to make matters worse, Walmart was no help either. They only use Affirm and no other similar companies. Luckily, there are plenty of other options in the USA.
I'm so annoyed every time I think about it that I'm going to report them to other agencies. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General, and even the bank that operates and funds them. It's just not right!
Affirm Review: Nightmare Identity Verification Process and Discrimination?
Getting married and updating your credit information should be a breeze, right? WRONG! Let me tell you, it's been a real headache dealing with Affirm. I've been given the runaround, lied to, and talked in circles. It's been a downright nightmare. Thank goodness my reason for updating my information is for a happy occasion like getting married. If it were due to a divorce, I can only imagine how much worse it would be.
The "process" Affirm has in place to verify your identity is a complete joke. It's taken me over three months and I still can't use my account because they "can't verify my identity." It's frustrating and feels discriminatory. I've never had any issues with my account before. I've used Affirm for six loans and always paid them off on time. I have an excellent account and payment history. But now that I'm doing the right thing and updating my information, I'm being punished for it.
It's almost like they don't want me to borrow with Affirm anymore. Is it because I'm black? Or a woman? I can't think of any other reason why this process has been so difficult. And to make matters worse, there's no one who can tell me how to fix it. I'm stuck in limbo until they decide to do something about it.
Overall, my experience with Affirm has been a complete disaster. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you're thinking about using them, think again. Save yourself the headache and go with a different company.
Disappointed by Affirm's Identity Verification Process: A Canadian's Experience
I was really excited to try out Affirm after hearing so many great things about it. However, when it came time to actually use the service, I ran into some major issues. I followed all the instructions and provided all the necessary information, including my driver's license and photos of my face to verify my identity. But no matter how many times I tried, the system just couldn't seem to process my items or match them up correctly.
As a Canadian citizen who has had my IDs for years, I was really frustrated by this. I've never had any problems like this before, and I couldn't understand why Affirm's customer care team was giving me such a hard time. When I called them to ask what was going on, they told me that I was ineligible to use their service indefinitely due to an issue with my identity eligibility. But when I asked them to explain what part of my identity was the problem, they couldn't give me a straight answer.
I was really upset by this whole experience. I have an amazing credit score and no issues on my record, so why should a simple typo or a problem with Affirm's automated identification process prevent me from using their service for life? It just doesn't make any sense to me. And when I asked the customer care team to escalate the issue, they didn't seem very confident that anything would actually be done about it.
From a business standpoint, I think it's really shortsighted of Affirm to close themselves off to customers who have great credit scores and the funds to pay back loans. It's especially frustrating when the problem seems to be on their end, not mine. Overall, I'm really disappointed by my experience with Affirm, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
Frustrating Experience with Affirm Payment Process for Camera Lens Purchase
So, I recently bought a camera lens from Affirm and was trying to make my first payment. During the application process, Affirm asked for my bank debt card number so they could remove the monthly payment. However, the first payment was not completed because the person trying to run my debt card as a Visa card. I received a message about this and contacted a member of their HELP team.
I explained that the card number I gave was a bank debt card number as they requested, not a Visa card. I gave her my debt card number and she ran it through, but the Visa wasn't accepted. I told her that it was because it was a debt card and not a Visa card. I then said that I would give her my Visa card number and she could run it through with that. I gave her all the information and answered yes to a request to do that. Once all that was done, she proceeded to tell me that Affirm doesn't accept Visa cards as a payment method. I asked her why we just went through all of that when she knew it was my Visa card. I then gave her my debt card number to make sure she had it correct. I told her that it was my bank debt card and she ran it through again. She responded that the Visa didn't go through. I said that we just talked about this for the last five minutes and that it was a debt card. I told her to run it through as a debt card. She tried again and said that it went through. I told her that if she had done it right in the first place, I would not be calling her.
I decided to file a complaint and called back. I got another person and explained what happened. She said that the payment had gone through and asked what the problem was. I said thank you and hung up.
Overall, I was frustrated with the experience. It seemed like there was a lack of communication between the two representatives I spoke with. It took longer than it should have to get the payment processed correctly. However, I am glad that the payment eventually went through and that I was able to resolve the issue.
Affirm Review: Lack of Customer Service, Follow-Through, and Accountability
I'm gonna be real with you, folks. My experience with Affirm has been a real headache. For the past 8 months, I've been going back and forth with them, trying to get a refund. It's been a real hassle, let me tell you. I've had to provide them with all sorts of proof and documentation, just to get them to listen to me. And every time I talk to "customer service," I have to explain my story all over again. It's like they don't even care.
After all that, I finally got a partial refund. But let me tell you, it wasn't easy. They're all about the money, and they don't care about ethics or what their customers actually signed up for. And when they tried to refund me, it just wouldn't go through. Funny how they can take money out of my account with no problem, but when it comes to giving it back, suddenly there's an issue.
So I asked them to send me a check instead. And what do you know? The check bounced. Twice. I mean, come on. This is a major company we're talking about here. How does a check from them not go through? It's ridiculous.
When I called customer service to ask about it, they said they had no record of a check being sent out. But when I asked to speak to a supervisor, suddenly they found proof that a check had been sent. And then they told me everything had been closed out, even though I still hadn't received my refund. How can something be closed out when a check doesn't go through?
Honestly, I've never experienced such a lack of customer service, follow-through, accountability, and general incompetence in my 43 years of life. I still haven't gotten my partial refund, and I doubt I ever will. So take my advice, folks: don't use this service. Once they have your money, they don't care about you anymore.
Predatory Lending: My Disappointing Experience with Affirm Loans
Affirm is a company that provides loans to customers who want to make purchases but cannot afford to pay for them upfront. Unfortunately, my experience with Affirm has been less than satisfactory. The customer service is practically non-existent, and they do not seem to care about resolving any issues that their customers may have.
When I had a problem with a purchase I made through Affirm, I was directed to their website, where I was given a list of instructions to follow. However, these instructions did not help me resolve my issue, and I was left feeling frustrated and helpless.
After several attempts to contact Affirm, I finally managed to file a complaint about an item that I had yet to receive. The seller was unresponsive, and I was worried that Affirm would auto-debit me for the purchase. To my surprise, Affirm opened a ticket for me, but they also automatically closed it at the same time. They asked me to provide them with a mountain of documentation, which was difficult to do since the seller never shipped the item and was unresponsive.
Despite my efforts to provide Affirm with the little information I had, they did not seem to care about my situation. They went ahead and billed me anyway, leaving me with no other option but to put a stop payment with my bank on the Affirm charges. This action would destroy my credit, which was not something I was willing to risk.
In conclusion, Affirm is a predatory lender that does not care about its customers. They refuse to deal with any issues and pawn their customers off on the seller. This is a terrible way to do business, and I would not recommend anyone to use their services.
Terrible Experience with Affirm: Charged for Canceled Hotel & No Refund Received
I recently had an experience with Affirm that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had booked two hotels for the same weekend through Travelocity, but ended up canceling one of them immediately after. I called Affirm to make sure they were aware of the cancellation, but to my surprise, I was still charged for the canceled hotel. When I called to inquire about this, I was told that I still had to pay regardless of the cancellation.
This happened in April, and every few weeks, I called Affirm to check the status of the cancellation because I was still being billed. However, they told me that until Travelocity refunded them, there was nothing they could do. I was getting increasingly frustrated with the situation, and then a manager got on the phone and stayed on for over an hour while we were on a three-way call with Travelocity. They asked me to provide proof of the refund, which I did.
Travelocity then told me they would get back to me because they could not find the refund to Affirm. I went ahead and paid it because I was threatened that it would be reported to my credit bureau. I was told that once I sent the proof of the refund, I would get my money back. However, Travelocity didn't get back to me, so I followed up again in September. They then emailed me what Affirm needed, which was proof of the refund and the last four digits of the card it went on. I sent what they asked for, but now it's October, and they're still saying there is no receipt of the refund and not even a note on my account about it.
Affirm is still saying that they can't get a refund and to contact Travelocity. I have called them over and over again, but I keep being told that Affirm got their money back, but now they won't give me my money back. I just got off the phone with a supervisor, and she basically told me that I'm out of luck because they have no record of Travelocity refunding them. I paid them $300, and I guess I have to just chalk it up as a loss. I would not recommend using Affirm because they are terrible.
Affirm Review: Predatory Lending Practices and Terrible Customer Service
Affirm is a lending company that has been causing a lot of problems for people who use their services. They are known for their predatory lending practices and their lack of concern for their customers. If you are looking for a company that will help you when you need it the most, then Affirm is definitely not the company for you.
One of the biggest problems with Affirm is their customer service. They have a team of people who are supposed to help you when you have a problem, but they are a complete joke. They will not investigate any issues that you have and they always side with big business. This means that if you have a problem with a purchase that you made using Affirm, you will be left with no protection at all.
I used Affirm three times to make purchases and I never had any problems paying my bill. However, when I purchased an airline ticket for $2000 through an agent who promised me 24 hours to help and cancel if I ran into any issues, my worst nightmare came true. The airline would not let me and my family board our flights. I immediately contacted the agent who then advised me to contact Affirm. The purchase was pending when I spoke to someone who promised to open an inquiry for a quick refund. Instead, Affirm let the purchase go through even though my family and I never boarded our flight. We were left stranded in LAX.
I called the airline, Affirm, and the agent for help, but each kept sending me to speak with the other. I ended up getting a rental and heading back home. My family vacation, which I had been planning and postponing for two years, had been ruined. This is not the kind of service that you expect from a lending company.
If you are thinking about using Affirm, I would strongly advise against it. Their customer service is terrible, and they do not care about their customers. They always side with big business, and you will be left with no protection if something goes wrong with your purchase. Do your due diligence and use your credit card, which offers you some protection. Affirm does not care about consumers, and they will not help you when you need it the most.
Beware of Affirm: A Scam Financing Company That Uses Algorithms to Deny People
I had previously shared my thoughts about Affirm, the financing company that partners with Crossroads Bank for their financing. At first, they made it seem like they didn't check credit scores, but then they had Crossroads do a "soft" credit check. I've been a loyal customer of ReaReal, a consignment clothing site, for two years. I've always paid my loans on time and even paid them off early. However, I recently had an issue with Affirm when they denied me for no apparent reason. I was upset that they treated a good customer like me poorly, especially since they rely on Crossroads to handle their financial accounts. I've heard that Crossroads has gotten into trouble for bad business practices, so it's concerning that Affirm is working with them.
Despite my frustration, Affirm gave me a site credit, which I used to purchase a few items. I paid off a few of them and wanted to buy one more item for an upcoming event. However, I was turned down because of their "points system" with Transunion. Apparently, I had delinquent accounts, but I only have one credit card that doubled my bill, and I can't get them to look into it. I refuse to pay it until they do. I have other credit accounts that are all paid up to date, but Affirm doesn't seem to care about that.
I strongly advise against dealing with Affirm. They are sneaky and lure people in with the promise of being able to afford nice things that they normally couldn't with a regular credit card. However, they comb through your personal records and send you a message on Affirm saying that you don't meet their standards. Affirm is a scam that uses algorithms to deny people, and they don't want to put in the work to help their customers. Unless you're a trust fund baby or a white-collar worker with a fat bank account, they don't want to do business with you. It's best to steer clear of them altogether.
Product: Online Financing with a credit card
Product: Online Financing with a credit card. Ive had over 29 loans to pay for *** Allstate and Wayfair orders with a excellent pay history. Now I have 4 loans where told *** they need additional time to resolve the issue. As I told CFPB, Affirm was using a delaying tactics so my loans would be 30 days past due. The tactics delayed 2 of my loans so they could place derogatory items on my credit reports. Affirm advertisement or on stores like ***, Amazon and more than 5 other store websites and TV commercials. They can be seen everyday online and every website.when they approve the loan is signing a contract. I started trying to resolve issues in June 2022 and I contacted the Complaintsboard.com telling to contact them so they could help. I closed Complaintsboard.com complaint because it would resolved. However, they used the tactics to close the complaint. I contacted CFPB with same tactic so they closed it with saying they needed to speak with customer. The second complaint stated the reached out to me but could not contact me. On 01/06/2022 and again on 10/06/2022, Ive tried to get assistance because of Covid twice with CoVid related issues. There were 2 different managers that sent the form to me to process for assistance but it was intentionally blocked to complete. On 11/11/2022, I spoke to *** - Supervisor over an hour in an attempt to resolve the issue. I am not trying not to make payments but asking for assistance to stay in good standing with Affirm and keep my credit report free of derogatory items. stating she could not see if Affirm reported my accounts to Experian. She very frustrated when I questioned the ability to see what the previous representative told me. Also, she said Im putting every we both said in the notes. I recorded the conversation because Affirm tells me one thing and tell CFPB something entirely different. previous Complaint numbers: [protected] and [protected] with CFPB to help in the resolution.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am not liable for the debt with Affirm and do not have a contract with Affirm. They did not provide me with original application.
I have contacted Affirm several times to try and find out why my account is locked and they promise to fix it and send me an email with ways to unlock it but never do. I have even spoken to two supervisors and still to this day I have never received any emails or contact from them about my account.
Around April, three months later, the shed was ready for delivery, but by that time, I had already constructed one using materials I sourced myself. I instructed the company to return the undelivered shed. Subsequently, Affirm contacted me, suggesting that I should purchase the shed regardless, as returning it would incur an $800 charge. After months of disputing this with them, I discovered they had reported negatively on my credit, causing my score to drop. Eventually, in December, I relented and paid for the delivery, yet the issue persists on my credit report.
This identity fraud this company allowed someone to use my credit. I have sent them proof of the item that was bought and the address in a location where it went. I have never been to that location. I also filed a police report and they still say I need more proof. There isn't any more proof; it is all spelled out for them and they refuse to remove it from my credit report. I had a similar incident with another company and they resolved it promptly. They never intended to take care of this issue. I also paid a certain amount which I didn't realize what it was for, which was my mistake.
