AVOID ALLSTATE You only know how good your insurance is when you need them. I have been an Allstate customer for well over a decade and have always paid my premiums on time. In October, 2016 a storm came through and a tree fell on my home causing over $30, 000 in damages. I live in Virginia and Virginia was not issued a tropical storm warning. My deductible should have been $1, 000. Allstate chose to invoke my tropical storm deductible of over $11, 000 because MY NEIGHBORING STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA WAS ISSUED A TROPICAL STORM WARNING!
Any questions, please refer to your policy or call your agent. In addition, Allstate increased my premiums by 20% because this was my first claim on my home. Needless to say I have taken my business elsewhere and feel much more secure and in better hands.
agent deanna lee stuart
I have property in Port Aransas, TX and have suffered damages resulting from hurricane Harvey. I have attempted multiple times to reach Ms. Stuart - she returned one call but did not seem to know much about my insurance policy or coverage. I have called her office three time today and still have not received a return call - from Ms. Stuart nor any other agent in her office. I need assistance and someone knowledgeable to speak with.
medical claim coverage
Despite being a loyal customer for over 35 years and never missing a healthy monthly payment premium, I will never endorse or use Allstate as my insurance company again for either home or auto policies. Even though I had substantial medical coverage, Allstate handled my LEGITIMATE personal injury claim terribly and it ended up costing me due money because of Allstate's internal practices. They "lost", mishandled, didn't receive, bills submitted to them by the addresses they provided. Allstate was also not compelled to notify me or the medical billing entities if the submission was lacking in any detail that would correctly process the claim- despite being asked repeatedly to do so. And, guess what? If they didn't get everything they needed within 45 days, they could deny the claim-what a win-win for them. Allstate did not stand by me when I needed them the most. If I could conjure stronger words to convey my disappointment on what I believe is terrible and unjust customer service, I would!
auto insurance
On August 26, 2017 I was contacted several times by an "agent" from Mike Koman Allstate in Mason Ohio. I like to do my research before I purchase anything over the phone and upon my research the "agent that I was speaking with does not have an insurance license in Ohio. This person was ensuring me about all of her years of experience and customers she has with her agency. She also spoke of all the other quotes she has done through out the years. I am a former insurance agent for Nationwide I am retired. And up until I retired it in2013 it is illegal for a person to sell insurance in the state of Ohio without a Sales license. I am complaining because this lack of integrity is why insurance agencies and companies have been losing public support. I am not sure what Kind of organization you all are running and I am aware that each office has it's own individual rights however this is alarming to me that this is the trend that the industry is diverting to. The agents name was Kristina Vandruten. I spoke with a few other Allstate agents in the area and they assured me that this was not a common practice for the company as a whole and Mike Koman's agency was known to cut corners as well as manipulate the system. I am not sure if these tactics are known to you all but I as a concerned consumer I would like to formally complain about this matter.
auto insurance
Allstate offered us insurance at a less price do we switched from $317 per month to $289. We added windsheild coverage for $6 month. Our bill is now $591! I will not stop until this is resolved the agent is a liar and we are now in debt. I have recorded phone conversation from the agent and text. I was told by allstate executive office they cant listen to the recorded conversations from their end...thats fine because im sure the news will have a feild day with my recordings. Im am fed up and truly considering getting my lawyer involved plus the media. This has caused stress, even arguements between me and my husband. I am being told i have to pay what the new rate is until review. I should have never switched this company is corrupt. Im reaching out to others with complaints and would like to start a class action...i have never been swindled by state farm.I am astounded by the behaivor of your agents. I called the office at Amy Burman and Jojo answerered and said why didnt you text me as if im obligated to text some agent when i have a question. Its all recorded including her lying about prices to close the deal...I am extremely upset . We initially asked to start coverage on a certain date and after we paid we asked for billing to start on the 23rd. She said we were vovered on the 4th so I cancelled state farm. Not the case we received an uninsured bill from the tag office we called and allstate said they could back date it so we didnt have to pay the fees and then sent us another bill for insurance for the time period . Hmmm logically pay $50 to tag office or $300 to state farm?! I spent 3 hours if my day while the agent kept saying she could not back date and the 1800 number saying yes. I can not beleive this is how allstate is ran. We have home and auto and so does the majority of our family. Please respond promptly
Thank you

auto insurance misquote
I have my homeowners insurance through Allstate, I called up the local office and asked for a quote to combine auto insurance though you as well. I was originally quoted for my 6 month premium 2058.00 The next day I looked up my Acct info online and that showed my 6 month premium at 2489.03. Now I'm being told It was a glitch and it can't be fixed!
renters insurance
I cancelled my renters insurance at the end of June 2017, by phone and spoke to Heather, before the next months premium was due. I recently received a letter from the Maria Golseth Agency telling me they cancelled my insurance due to non payment and were going to charge my card after July 15, 2017. This is fraud and this needs to be addressed immediately. They owe me a difference in premium for cancelling before premium end date and all charges to my card after June 2017. I want the cancellation for non payment removed from my name immediately. I will be filing a report. Thank you for you immediate attention.
Sincerely,
Angela McAllister
vehicle in the shop for 4 months
My home was hit by a tornado 4/20/2017. My Grand Cherokee had extensive damage, 21 points of impact. Allstate came out to my home and looked at the Jeep. They gave me the name of a preferred shop that also offered free rental car, worked out for me since my policy of which is paid for by my ex husband does not have rental. They had my jeep for a month. I went to pick it up and just walking up to it I noticed cracked trim hanging, jeep was never washed, inside was covered in white dust and many other issues that were not fixed. I had my 2 year old in the backseat watching a movie while I looked at the work that they did/didn't do. I was putting her car seat into the jeep when she handed me a razor blade that they left on the backseat. I was furious! I have been told numerous times "that is not acceptable" but no one did anything about it. The shop kept my Jeep to fix the issues I noticed. A week later I went to pick up the jeep again. This time I took the Jeep home. When I got home I noticed things were not repaired. I called Allstate and they sent someone out to inspect my Jeep. He agreed the vehicle was not fixed properly and asked if I wanted to try another shop. We picked a new preferred shop and he contacted them with the parts I needed. They ordered them and I dropped my Jeep off. Few days later I go to pick it up. Looked over the car and it seems good. Get into my vehicle and it looks like I am trying to look through a fish bowl. I go back in and get someone to come out, I have them sit in the drivers seat and look out my window. She claimed she did not see anything. There was something all over my windows that made it difficult to see out them. At that point I needed to get back to work so I left. I got home and my husband noticed a large dent in a piece of trim. I called the shop back and told them what I found. The man I was dealing with told me that they will trust that the dent wasn't there before I brought it in. He said he would order parts and call me when I can bring my Jeep in. A week went by and I didn't get a call so I called them. It turns out that he was fired and they had no idea that my car needed to be fixed. So I wait a few more days, driving a car that I car hardly see out the windows and forget about driving at night or in the rain. I bring the vehicle back in to replace the trim. The manager looks at the jeep and comes out to the lobby and said that my entire car is acid etched and I need all new windows and it needs to be repainted. They claimed they didn't do it however the windows were not like that after the first shop. I drove the vehicle for a few weeks before it went back in, I would have noticed "orange peel" all over my windows. I then had the manager tell me that we can tell the insurance company that chemicals flew out of my garage during the tornado and landed on my car. I refused to lie to cover their mistake and I called Allstate again. They sent another guy out and he took 3 hours to look at my jeep and found alot of things wrong. He could not prove who acid etched my vehicle so Allstate paid for 10 new windows. They also called the first shop and had them pay for the massive amount of rework that had to be done. Finally I had someone that really took the time to look at my vehicle. So back to the shop it went (the one that I am 100% positive is responsible for giving my jeep a acid bath). Allstate was nice enough to get me a rental and have my vehicle towed to the shop. Few days later the shop calls and said we ordered the parts for your Grand Caravan (wrong car) and you should be able to drop your vehicle off next week. I informed the lady that I watched her company tow my vehicle out of my driveway a few days ago and someone better find it, they found it. Few weeks later the car is done and I go to pick it up. Get there and the manger tells me "we are really proud of our work", then lies to me and said someone from Allstate was here today and inspected it. I go to my jeep, happy to finally have it back and I open the door and notice trim hanging, black finger prints around the entire tan ceiling, black mirrored trim still has "orange peel" look, front panel was not buffed properly, clips in arm rest broken and just left in there, black trim still had scuff marks and interior was not cleaned as promised. I left the shop without my Jeep and told them to call me when they finally decided to get it right. Called Allstate again and insisted that when my vehicle is done someone will go and inspect it. I also asked that they refund me the deductible for all my time driving back and forth, my child playing with a razor blade and countless hours missed from work. They told me that is not possible. Told me to do the customer claim satisfaction credit which if approved would be put on the policy that my ex pays for. I explained that he had nothing to do with any of this and I need to be compensated not the policy. I was told that there are a lot of customers with the same issues I have experienced. I am not sure how Allstate is in business if that is true. Allstate needs to make this right, it is their preferred shops that caused all these issues.
customer service representative
On Sun, Aug. 13, 2017 at 3:06 Hawaii time in which the call lasted for 6 mins. I initiated a phone call for my brother who wants to report a claim. I spoke with a lady who was very rude on the phone. As I passed the phone to my brother, I put it on speaker so I could hear bec my brother have difficulty understanding. She stated she don't want to be on speaker and only want to speak with my brother. I then took her off of the speaker and asked my brother about language that he could understand best. My brother told her he needed someone who could speak in Filipino. Per my brother, the lady said they are very busy and couldn't get an interpreter and advice my brother to call later and hang up the phone. I am also an Allstate customer and I. Regretting because prior to this incident I just finished doing a survey for allstate and gave them an excellent feedback.
auto insurance
All state could care less about there customers. I had an adjuster named arkie in louisiana come to my shop to do a supplement and he had the nerve to tell me to burn in the clearcoat on the uniside. I told him that is an impropper repair and that the paint company and the vehicle manufacturer said not to burn in because it will fail over time. He said he didnt care and that thats all he would pay to do.Unbelievable how sorry this company is.

re: #[protected]
Ahmad Nasir
I spoke to your agent Craig Testrich,

Apple auto had release the car to Ahmad Nasir and All state had reissued the check on 7/14/2017 to Ahmad Nasir and its a two party check . todate we havent received the payment. and today apple auto (myself) spoke to Craig Testrich who was very rude and very bluntly told me that he cant help us at all and he doesnt what to do . I told him he shouldnt be rude and he said that there is nothing more to discuss with regards to this case and hung up.
this is not the way for an agent of Allstate to speak. I seek your kind attention to look into this matter and revert back to me . I also humbly request you to look into this matter about our payment, ,

claim estimate/nobody will return my phone call
I have a claim from an auto accident with Allstate. Yulanda Tierney (tech review) called and broke down my estimate amount and what the pay out on my claim would be and explained why it was different than the shops estimate, 30 minutes later I received an email showing a complete different amount that was even lower than what we went over on the telephone that would be paid out. I have left multiple voicemails for Yulanda as well as Mike Cruson (her supervisor) seeking an explanation and neither will return my phone call. I have spoken with every department I can find and everytime the representative tells me they don't know what to do or how to get anyone to call me back. I have also put in a complaint with the BBB in regards to another issue with my claim which Allstate has also failed to follow up with me in regards to.
improper charging of accounts
Representative asked me if I wanted to pay my balance with the card on file. I said no and gave her the credit-card information that I wanted her to use. She then continued to charge a 6 month premium to the wrong card and has now drained my bank-account and left me with no money to pay bills or put gas in my truck. Thanks alot allstate you just ruined my families weekend
denial claim
Reported broken water pipe in wall 3/17 to Allstate agent-was advised that it was my resp. to fix pipe-and estimates for rprs-completed in 2days-Allstate scheduled agents to resp to the property 3times and all no showed or resch for the month of April and finally a contractor came in May/2017 - I put heaters/fans in the bathroom and bedroom where the damage was - still no Allstate personnel resp. to dry the water - which caused the wall and flooring to mold. the contractor advised Allstate that they should have sent a water restoration company to dry to wall and floor, but they refused. Now Allstate is denying my claim stating it was my FAULT that the mold started in the walls because I didn't file the claim on time or take care of my property. I have been with Allstate 25years with no claims and I followed the instructions of the agent. No one from Allstate followed protocol when I originally reported the water damage and completed the repairs, No Restoration, Did not complete the claim process from my agent office, Did not have an Allstate processor response to my house in April, Allstate has
Repudiated all responsibility and has verbally stated the damage is my fault the(customer). Allstates motto Your in Good Hands is Deceitful!
homeowner insurance
I was promised that there will be no changes to my policy when I switched from my older insurance (Balboa) to Allstate, but it was changed. When I submitted the claim, I was informed that I do not have water back up coverage. I have attached evidence from Allstate stating that my policy will not be changed and also disclosure from my older insurance.
cancellation - refund delay
Natalie Johnson, [protected]
NJS - Michael Short agency.
Request of cancellation 7/11/17
To date - cancellation not taken care of. Unable to explain why. Unable to electronically send my refund to expedite. Unable to update my address to help expedite. Unable to show any passion or concern for the extreme inconvenience. Unable to explain why I was not notified hay the cancellation "fell through the cracks". Both customer service rep and supervisor lack any empathy and were in it to back up themselves and make themselves feel good about their lack if compassion. I do not have any confidence that my request is being processed. Supervisor unable to grasp that 7/21 is more than 2 weeks ago. Combative and lack ANY kind of technique to calm a customer down - quite the opposite - to the point that I am so angry that I'm spending my time writing this. Could have been an easy process - AllState mistake - step one. Apology. Would have changed the whole call. Absolutely the worst customer experience I have had with an insurance agency, I'm appalled. When I asked for his manager he hung up on me.
homeowners insurance
We have been insured with Allstate since we purchased our house. We have done many upgrades to our home including a new roof, rebuilt chimney, new deck, new pool liner and many other projects and upgrades, and until this year we have not needed our insurance.
On April 16, 2017 (Easter), a bush in front of our home was struck by lightning and the electrical current ran to the overhead light on our porch and shorted out the electricity in the front half of our home. I contacted Allstate, and they gave me the runaround for nearly 2 weeks with the end result being that due to stipulations in our coverage an adjuster would not be coming to our property and no damages were covered. Our agent never contacted me until the claim was denied. He had me speak with his assistants, who continually told me I had to contact the 1-800 number myself. No written denial was ever issued to me. I also might add that during the nearly 2 week period we were without our electricity because Allstate told us to wait on the repairs until the claim was reviewed.
On Saturday July 15, 2017 I went in my garage to get chairs for a party I was hosting and I noticed water on the ground. I looked up and saw water dripping from the garage ceiling. I called our contractor and they came to check out the issue on Wednesday 7/19. They cut into the ceiling in the garage and could not find the source of the water, they cut into the wall of the master bath (a shared wall between 2 bathrooms above the garage) and could not find the source of the leak. They came back the following day with a restoration company to use a moisture meter to see if they could locate the area of the leak without doing any demolition, they could not. They instructed me to contact my insurance company, as they have done many jobs like this in the past and did not want to demo any tile until a claims adjuster saw that it was in fact necessary.
I contacted my agent's office around 9am, William Hensley, and again I spoke with an assistant who told me she would call me back. I waited until around 3pm and still had not heard back. I called again and got a different assistant who also told me she would call me back. I waited until around 4pm and still had not heard back. From my previous experience I knew I needed to get the ball rolling on this so we weren't without a bathroom for 2 weeks, so I called one more time. An assistant told me that I needed to call the 1-800 number. So I waited all day just to have to handle this myself.
I called the 1-800 number and spoke with a claims specialist who opened the claim for me. She said she would contact our contractor to get some information on the damage. I waited until the following morning to follow up, and my contractor and claim contact at Allstate (Paula) were playing phone tag. They finally got a hold of each other and Paula called me back and told me my claim is not covered, again, due to stipulations in my coverage.
She explained to me that if our pipe had burst and the ceiling completely broke through our claim would be covered. However after speaking with our contractor the fact that there is saturated wood and it is a slow drip, we are not covered. I take issue with this.
They refuse to send out a claims adjuster to view the damage, and as of today July 24, 2017 I still do not know the source of the water. It is not dripping now, and we stopped using the bathroom over the area of the leak. For all we know a pipe did crack and we found it immediately, but my insurance company denied my claim without any investigation.
I feel as though they have put enough "stipulations" in place so they do not ever actually need to put forward a true investigation of damage, in fact they never even need to send someone to look at the damage. Not for a lightning strike and not for a plumbing issue.
I am beyond disappointed with the lack of protection or concern from the company I pay to protect me. I feel that I am owed a true investigation of damages. Not to be denied without them possessing any information on the damages.
My real estate agent called William Hensley's office on my behalf and when they spoke he told her that I should have been conducting routine maintenance to my home and I should have found the leak sooner. She asked how I would have been able to detect the leak before it showed itself by coming through the walls, and asked if he was suggesting that I cut into the walls monthly to check for leaks, and he told her yes. Then he hung up the phone on her.
This has been despicable and unprofessional to say the least. My agent should never hang up on someone during a professional call, and in my opinion he should be fighting on my behalf, as that is what I pay him to do.
We chose Allstate for our insurance coverage because they advertise that they have the best coverage and the best discounts and that we would "Be in good hands." This is clearly false in my experience.
boat insurance - coverage dropped
We have had Allstate boat insurance since 2012. My husband has a Lowe/Stinger 195D aluminum boat. In 2016 he had to file 3 claims with Allstate. Claim # 1 a deer ran into him on the highway causing $8, 990 worth of damage. Claim #2 While on the water, a rock caused a puncture in the hull. Damage bill was $10, 545 . Third claim - another puncture (cause unknown) while on the water caused $4, 935 damage.
Total of three claims $24, 570... purchase price for both boat & trailer was $20, 670. Allstate paid all three of these claims but refused to total the boat. Apparently they reasoned that because we had only paid 5 years of premiums, they would not make an adequate profit.
Long story short. Allstate will no longer profit from our business.
road assistance
Hi.. I had my car break-down in middle of the road, luckily I didn't meet with any accident or block any traffic. I called up for my Allstate road assistance service fo towing.
Customer service rep asked me to sit and she will call me back giving the towing company's details and estimated time to reach me.
She did call mme back after 15-20 minutes with a response- towing services had refused to come for my assistance as I was not in EMERGENCY SITUATION and that, I can get some service on my own and then claim for reimbursement.
I don't understand what is defined as an EMERGENCY SITUATION here because I was stranded all alone in the road with my car's battery totally dead and it definitely accounts for an emergency situation. Or do you mean if I am in a life threatening situation then may be I can get help otherwise "just keep us paying and forget". In that case, if I would have availed of towing services by myself then what is the guarantee that I would have received my money back without any issues.
I am paying a hefty amount of insurance every month so that I can get services and assistance during such situations. This case just worries me that if I am involved in an accident in future then how will your company help me.
I would appreciate if you can give me any relevant explanation of above situation. And if there are any such clauses that you have nowhere mentioned for road assistance, please do so clearly so that I can look for more reliable insurance options.
mva claim-[protected]/[protected]
I was hit by another Allstate client in March 2017. We both have Allstate, I thought this would be easy but it has been complicated. I have had to speak with the following adjusters: J. Ward. K. Duncan, L. Bryant, L. Joyce and C. Darby. All were on my case. I was seen for neck and shoulder injury, had therapy and meds. I received a call from Connie offering $600.00 for my pain and suffering. She states all medical bills will be paid by Allstate. There are good adjusters and there are ones that should not be in customer service. I asked Connie did I sign anything for her to pay my bills? She stated she did not need a release from me. I could have went on with my therapy, but choose to continue home therapy. To be offered such an amount for my pain suffering is an insult. I received another bill in the mail and faxed this to Connie. I have left a message for Maureen from Corporate requesting someone else review my claim. I have been a loyal customer and have not had any major claims. This accident was not my fault! Allstate should make sure they are hiring the right people for the job! Really frustrated with the negative comments from friends and family about Allstate service.
