AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Terrible Experience with AM Used Auto Parts - Misrepresented Product and Poor Customer Service

I had a pretty bad experience with AM Used Auto Parts. I bought a used engine from them on September 29th, 2015. They told me that the engine had 78,000 miles on it, but when it arrived on October 9th, it was clear that this was not the case. The engine had damage to the front of the crank, the front and rear seals, throttle bottle, and an epoxy-patched oil pan. It was also filthy inside and out. My mechanic, who has been in the business for over 35 years, said that this was the worst used engine he had ever seen. He believed that it had been abused by mechanics in the past and had a couple hundred thousand miles on it.

When I contacted AM Used Auto Parts about this, they were not very helpful. They repeatedly told me that the engine had shipped when it had not, and when it finally did arrive, they were indifferent to the fact that it was not as advertised. They offered to take the engine back, but I would have had to pay for return shipping and a 20% restocking fee, which was too expensive for me.

I tried to contact them via email and letter to see if we could come to some sort of resolution, but they never responded. I was very disappointed with their customer service and the quality of the product that I received. I would not recommend doing business with them and suggest that you find another company to buy your used auto parts from. They are not trustworthy and do not stand behind their products.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts Review: Poor Quality and Customer Service, Not Worth the Price

listened to them before I made the mistake of buying from AM Used Auto Parts.

I recently purchased a motor from AM Used Auto Parts and I have to say, I was not impressed with the quality of the product or the customer service. While the price was fair and the mileage was low, I ran into some serious issues when it came time to install the motor.

My mechanic was unable to hook up the torque converter bolt and discovered that the motor would not turn over. I reached out to Bryan, the owner of AM Used Auto Parts, and he suggested that I try using some mystic oil in the cylinders to get the motor to turn over. While this eventually worked, it took a lot of time and effort on my part.

Once the motor was up and running, my mechanic noticed a loud ticking noise coming from the driver's side. I contacted Bryan again and he agreed to send out another motor as soon as I returned the first one. However, when I asked if he would help cover the cost of labor to remove the faulty motor and install the new one, he refused, stating that they do not cover labor costs.

As a result, I was stuck with a $700 bill for the first motor and now face the prospect of spending another $700 or more to install the replacement motor. This is not to mention the additional costs that are likely to arise from other issues that may come up during the installation process.

Overall, I would not recommend AM Used Auto Parts to anyone looking for reliable and affordable auto parts. The quality of their products is questionable and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If you're in the market for auto parts, I suggest looking elsewhere and reading the many negative reviews that this company has received.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Disappointing Experience with AM Used Auto Parts: Engine Not As Advertised and Warranty Requirements Unreasonable

I recently purchased a 1993 5.0 engine with 81k miles and a 1-year warranty for $699 from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). However, I received the engine four weeks later and upon visual inspection, I noticed that the valve cover had "1987 Ford F-150" written on it. Upon further inspection, I found that the oil pan drain bolt had been replaced with a plain bolt and JB welded in place.

In order to get the warranty, AM Used Auto Parts required me to replace all gaskets and seals (except head gaskets), as well as the oil pump, water pump, and timing chain. I removed the valve covers and found that the oil was burnt and built up so badly that only the oil return hole was open and only partway. After removing all the old burnt oil, I pulled the upper and lower intake and found the same burnt oil in the intake valley and only one oil port partially cleared. The lifters were surrounded by old oil, so I cleared out the old oil using a putty knife and spoons.

I then removed the oil pan and found that the oil pick-up tube was clogged with old oil. I also pulled the main and rod caps and found that the bearings were wiped out. Finally, I removed the timing chain cover and found that the chain was so loose that it was not contacting the crank gear.

I have been calling AM Used Auto Parts every day for a week and a half, but no one has said what they are going to do. On the third call, they said that removing the heads null and voided the warranty. I asked what mechanic would not remove heads to inspect pistons and cylinder walls after seeing all the other damage. I sent pictures at their request, but still, nothing has been done.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with AM Used Auto Parts. The engine I received was not as advertised, and the warranty requirements were unreasonable. The fact that they have not responded to my calls or pictures is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for used auto parts.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Unreliable and Unresponsive: Our Experience with AM Used Auto Parts

My husband and I recently purchased a used motor from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com) for $1,500. The motor was advertised to have 72,000 miles on it, but upon inspection, my husband found that it was damaged. Unfortunately, the delivery guy had already left by the time we discovered the damage. We contacted AM Used Auto Parts twice to inform them of the situation, and they did answer our calls. We sent them pictures of the damaged motor, but we never received a response from them.

Despite the damage, my husband decided to have a mechanic work on the motor to see if it could still be salvaged. However, the mechanic found that the motor had more than the advertised 72,000 miles and showed signs of overheating (see attached pictures). This was concerning, as AM Used Auto Parts claims to do quality checks and start the motors before selling them.

In the midst of all this, we received a response from AM Used Auto Parts to another email we had sent. They instructed us to change a few parts, which we did in good faith, spending $517.89. However, the mechanic informed us that the parts could not be installed due to the damages and that the motor was beyond repair.

We have tried to contact AM Used Auto Parts multiple times, but have not received any response. We have proof of everything, including photos and the testimony of the mechanic. We urge others to be careful when dealing with this company, especially if you are out of state. They cannot be trusted, and they seem to think that out-of-state customers will simply go away if things get too complicated.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com) Review: Wrong Engine Sent, Poor Customer Service, No Refund

Wish I had looked at reviews for this place prior to doing business with them. Don't repeat our mistake. We ordered a used, warrantied engine for my daughter's Jeep Liberty. When it arrived, the mechanic was not impressed with the overall condition, but we figured since it had a warranty we would move forward and not make a whole thing out of it.

Turns out they sent the wrong engine! Our mechanic got it in (after having to swap out several parts that were bad) only to discover the flex plate doesn't match up. After several days of trying to reach them, they tried to tell us the problem was the pilot bearing- which shouldn't even exist on an automatic transmission. (And this engine didn't have one).

Our mechanic sent them pictures of the flex plates of both engines to prove they won't match up. The company still maintains it is the correct engine. They said we could ship it back for a refund minus a 20% restocking fee-- it's $500 to ship it.

Our mechanic believes they sent an engine from a 2WD rather than a 4WD. Apparently the "warranty" doesn't cover them screwing up and sending the wrong part. 2 1/2 months later, and my daughter STILL has no car and we are stuck trying to resell an engine without even knowing what the heck car it fits in!

I intend to post this review on every site I can find until they reimburse the full price we paid for this giant paperweight. I'm hoping to not have to get our attorney involved, but I'm not optimistic. This place is a total rip-off. They don't care about their customers and they don't stand behind their products. Stay away from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com) if you don't want to be scammed.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Disappointing Experience with AM Used Auto Parts: Poor Customer Service and Hidden Fees

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with AM Used Auto Parts. The sales person I talked to, Bryan, was a real piece of work. He talked over me and argued with me about everything. And when I asked them to pull a part for me, they said they wouldn't do it and that I had to sign a contract before they would even ship it. But then they went ahead and charged my card right away, even though they said they wouldn't until the part was pulled and shipped. And when I asked about their warranty and restocking fee, they just sent me a link to their website that was really hard to find.

The worst part was when I got so frustrated with Bryan that I told him to cancel the order. He actually said "f you" and hung up on me! I mean, I shouldn't have used that kind of language, but come on. These guys clearly don't know how to deal with customers.

When I called back, I got the same treatment from Bryan. He kept arguing with me and insisting that the link to the contract was on my receipt, even though it wasn't. And then I found out that their "free" shipping isn't really free where I live. What a joke.

I did some research and found out that other people have had similar experiences with this company. So my advice is to shop somewhere else. And just so you know, I recorded all of our conversations, which is totally legal in my state. I just wanted to avoid any miscommunication, you know?

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts Review: Defective Transmission, Poor Customer Service, and No Resolution

I live in CA and I bought a used transmission for my 2012 Nissan Murano from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). I didn't check for reviews before buying and now I regret it. It took them 10 days to give me a tracking number and over two weeks to receive the part. When I got it, it was defective and my mechanic refused to install it.

I tried to contact them via phone and email and even sent video clips of the defective transmission and compared it to a proper working one. They agreed over the phone that it appeared to be defective and said they would contact me after submitting it to their warranty department. They would let me know if the costs of shipping it back would be covered. That was over a week ago on December 20, 2019. I never got a call or email so I called them back on Monday December 23rd, only to find out they are closed the entire week for Christmas. They could've mentioned that over the phone!

I followed up again today, December 30, 2019, and the rep I have been working with since the purchase (Joseph Miller) acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, so I asked for a manager. He put me on hold for 15 minutes to "get a manager", then came back on the line to tell me the manager wasn't available until after the new year. How convenient! He now remembers my issue and will follow up with their warranty department to cover the costs of shipping the 250+lb defective transmission back to them on the East Coast.

I am without a vehicle for over a month now, incurring rental car costs during the worst time of the year for this to happen. As a single mom of 2 kids on a fixed income, $1,200 for a defective part and the hassle of dealing with such dishonest and uncaring people is not how I envisioned spending my Holidays and my hard earned money.

Maybe I am naive, but I am still hoping these people will do the right thing so that I don't have to incur more expenses and headache to take legal action!

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Beware of AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com): Unreliable and Unfair Practices

I recently had an experience with AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com) that I would like to share. On February 1, 2022, I placed an order for an engine for my 2009 Honda Accord. I received a confirmation that my order had been processed. However, on February 3, 2022, I received an email from AMuap asking me what engine I needed. I was confused because they had already confirmed that they had the engine in stock. I was disappointed that my engine had not been shipped by February 3rd.

After doing some research, I discovered that AMuap had a reputation for being unreliable. I decided to cancel my order and requested a refund. I was charged a restocking fee of $239, which I found unfair since they had not even shipped the engine yet. I contacted the sales department to explain that I should not be charged a restocking fee if they had not even taken the engine out of stock. However, I did not receive a response from them.

I want to warn others not to fall for scams like this. It is better to look for auto parts locally, within a few dozen miles, so that you can inspect the parts before purchasing them. I am still hoping that AMuap will reimburse me for the restocking fee. If not, I will make sure to post this review on every site that deals with reviews.

It is frustrating to deal with companies that do not follow through on their promises. I hope that AMuap will take responsibility for their actions and make things right. In the meantime, I will continue to look for reliable auto parts suppliers.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts: A Complete Scam - Don't Waste Your Money!

I recently purchased a transmission from AM Used Auto Parts and it turned out to be a complete disaster. I was trying to save some money and went against my mechanic's advice to purchase from a more reliable company. AM sold me the transmission for $1825 and claimed it was in working condition when they shipped it. However, just three months after installation, it broke down and left me stranded. My mechanic found pieces of metal in the pan and it wouldn't go into drive or reverse.

When I contacted AM, they said they had a warranty and would refund me if I spent another $450 to return the transmission within 30 days. I did as they asked, but then they charged me a $400 restocking fee for a broken item that was not in working condition. It's ridiculous that they would even want it back, let alone charge me a restocking fee for it. It's clear that they plan on selling it to the next unsuspecting customer who can't afford to hire representation to defend themselves against this fraudulent business.

I ended up having to purchase another rebuilt transmission and have it reinstalled at a cost of $6000 out of pocket. AM owes me $6275, but I know I'll never see that money. They promised me a full refund in an email that I sent to the BBB in my complaint, but I highly doubt they'll follow through.

This company is a complete scam and I have no doubt that any positive reviews they have are either paid for or from their staff members, family, and friends. It's impossible that anyone is receiving anything worth installing in their vehicles from this company. The positive reviews are probably from people who haven't given the purchased transmission enough time to run before it breaks, and then they don't update their review.

AM also doesn't provide any assistance with shipping the transmission back, which is probably because they're hoping you'll lose hope and not ship it back within their 30-day timeframe. You need to contact a long haul transportation company to assist you with shipping. The transmission weighs around 300 pounds and needs to be on a pallet. You'll receive a shipping label for the transmission, your records, the driver, and the receiving AM. You'll have to pay for a lift gate truck both picking up and dropping off, which adds about $200 to the price.

It may take a few days, a week, or even a couple of weeks to arrive, so make sure you start the process right away. The transportation company will need a credit card on file and money upfront, which is probably another reason why poor and impoverished people don't send back their broken items from this company. They simply can't afford it and end up losing all their money.

If you do decide to return the transmission, make sure you file a claim with the Better Business Bureau and follow through with a complaint to the Florida Consumer Alerts. AM will respond with something silly and meaningless, but don't be fooled. They're lying to potential customers for the sake of scamming another unsuspecting victim. Keep that in mind and stay far away from this fraudulent business.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Avoid AM Used Auto Parts: Terrible Experience with Used Engine Purchase

AM Used Auto Parts is a place that you should avoid if you're looking for a good used engine. I bought an engine for my Toyota Camry on December 9th, 2019, and it was a terrible experience. The engine was supposed to have a 3-year warranty, but it was not as advertised. The engine was guaranteed to have no more than 68,000 miles on it and free from damage, but it was not the case.

When I received the engine on December 19th, 10 days later, I found that it had extra accessories that were not covered under the warranty. I had to remove these items so that I could get the engine ready to install, using my own accessories, which were removed from my old engine. As I began to remove the lower, forward engine mount, I discovered that it was broken from the engine block. I immediately called Joseph Miller, the salesman who sold me the engine, to let him know what I found. He suggested that I am the one who broke it, which was not true. I expected that AM Used Auto Parts would immediately send a replacement, but they never did.

I called AM Used Auto Parts every day leading up to Christmas, but they never returned my calls. A voice message on December 23rd said they would be on vacation until December 30th, so I had to wait until they returned from their vacation to speak to the salesman again. On December 30th, I finally spoke with the salesman, and he informed me that they determined that I was the one who broke the engine and they were not going to do anything to help me. He suggested that I have it welded. But, if I wanted a refund, I would have to ship the engine back to them at my expense and if it was determined that the defect was not caused by me, they would refund my money.

I shipped the engine back to them at a cost of $275.00 and filed a dispute with my credit card company. My credit card company gave me a conditional credit until they completed their investigation. On January 22nd, 2020, my credit card company reversed their conditional credit saying that unless I could provide further evidence, I would not be given a refund. At that point, the engine was in their possession and so was my $1,580.00. I sent the credit card company further evidence and finally, on January 25th, 2020, the credit card dispute was resolved in my favor and I was given a permanent credit of $1,580.00.

I made a couple of mistakes with this transaction. First, I bought the engine, sight unseen. I strongly recommend not doing that. Second, I didn't research the company before I bought the engine from them. I was seduced by the 3-year warranty, with conditions, which they make nearly impossible to meet. Everyone else seemed to only offer 3 or 6 month warranties. And third, although AM Used Auto Parts is located in Lithia, Florida, this engine actually came from a salvage yard in Wichita, Kansas. I suspect the engine was damaged as it was being removed from a vehicle in the salvage yard. On the bright side, while waiting for a resolution, I rebuilt my original engine, using genuine Toyota parts, for around $1,100.00. I should have done that in the first place.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts Review: False Promises and Poor Customer Service

I really wish I had taken the time to read some reviews before I made my recent purchase from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). I was drawn in by their promise to replace any defective or wrong parts within a year, but let me tell you, that promise is a load of horse manure. They don't honor anything.

I bought an engine for my 2000 Lincoln Navigator, but when my mechanic received it, he immediately noticed obvious signs of cross contamination. He told me that it would be unethical to install the engine, as a small fix could easily turn into a much larger problem. I tried several times to get AM Used Auto Parts to resolve the issue, but all I got was a bunch of excuses. They told me that their engines are tested before they're sent out, and that just because there was a little bit of fluid in the engine didn't mean it was bad. They even had the nerve to tell me that if my mechanic didn't feel safe installing the engine, it was up to me to have him run a compression test and send them the numbers. What kind of customer service is that? It's like they're saying, "We sold you an engine, now it's your problem."

I'm really disappointed in AM Used Auto Parts. They don't deserve even one star. If you're thinking about buying from them, I'd advise you to think twice.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts: A Complete Disaster - Faulty Engine, Broken Promises, and No Refund

This company, AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com), is a complete disaster! They sent me a faulty engine without even testing it! I was promised by Bryan Johnson that the engine had only 84k miles and was in grade A condition. I paid a whopping $999 for the engine and an additional $1700 for parts and labor to install it. But guess what? The engine had low compression in cylinder 6! Can you believe it? I was promised a full refund by Bryan Johnson, but I haven't received anything yet. And to make matters worse, my SUV is now incurring storage fees because they don't have another good engine to send me. This is unacceptable!

I am not the only one who has been scammed by this company. The Better Business Bureau is now involved, and I have even talked to an attorney about this matter. These lying salespeople need to be held accountable for taking consumers' hard-earned money and giving us faulty parts. It's not fair!

Thankfully, I recorded all my conversations with them because I don't trust anything they say anymore. After all the money I spent, I deserve to get what I paid for! It's a shame that companies like this exist, preying on innocent people who just want to fix their cars. I hope that the authorities will take action against them and put an end to their fraudulent practices.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Nightmare Experience with AM Used Auto Parts: Faulty Transmission and No Refund

We recently purchased a transmission from AM Used Auto Parts for our son's truck. We were excited to have it installed in plenty of time for him to start his senior year of high school in HIS truck. However, our experience with this company has been nothing but a nightmare.

Despite their claims that all of their products are tested, they sent us a bad transmission. We immediately started the refund process on August 4th, but as of today, September 10th, we still have not received our refund. To make matters worse, we had to pay out of our own pocket to have the faulty transmission diagnosed by a mechanic.

When we contacted the accounting department, they had no record of our refund request from August 4th. We have sent approximately 20 emails and made around 80 phone calls to the company, but we have yet to receive any satisfactory response. To add insult to injury, they refused to refund our money back to the card they charged the amount to.

We strongly advise against doing business with AM Used Auto Parts. They are nothing but scam artists who only care about taking your money. They have caused us a great deal of stress and frustration, and we don't want anyone else to go through the same experience.

We have attached a photo of the bad transmission they sent us, as well as a picture of our son's truck as it currently sits. Unfortunately, he has had to resort to driving his parents' vehicle to his most memorable year of high school.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Terrible Experience with AM Used Auto Parts - Faulty Motor and Poor Customer Service

I had a really bad experience with AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). I bought a motor from them on January 8th, 2016 for $1150. They sent the engine and my mechanic installed it. I drove the car for only 45 miles and the replacement motor blew up. I was so disappointed and frustrated. I called them several times to get a replacement motor, but they told me that I had to pay to send the motor back to them or wait for them to get another replacement motor in stock. It took them over two months to send a replacement motor. I asked for a refund many times, but they told me that I had to pay for the freight of the blown motor back to them. Finally, on April 7, 2016, they agreed to send out a new engine.

When the new motor arrived, my mechanic started to prepare for installation and realized that there was water in the oil. I called AM Used Auto Parts back on April 4, 2016, and they told me that my mechanic and I were both liars and that they weren't going to do anything about the motor. I was so angry and upset. I informed them that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau, and the person on the phone said, "OK, thank you for your business," and hung up. His name was Andy.

I cannot believe how terrible their customer service was. They were not helpful at all and did not take responsibility for their faulty product. I would not recommend AM Used Auto Parts to anyone. It was a waste of my time and money. I hope that others can learn from my experience and avoid this company.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts: A Nightmare Experience with a Defective Transmission

I recently bought a used transmission for my 1989 GMC Sierra K1500 pickup from AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). I was excited to receive it and had it installed the very next day. However, to my dismay, the transmission turned out to be defective and wouldn't work at all. I was extremely disappointed and called AM Used Auto Parts to report the issue. But instead of helping me out, they gave me the runaround and made things even more difficult for me.

They asked me to provide receipts for the transmission fluid, gaskets, and other parts, as well as photos of the defective transmission. They also told me that if I supplied all of that, they would only pay for the parts that were needed to fix it. Alternatively, I could ship it back at my own expense, which would have cost me $300. I was shocked and frustrated by their response, especially after buying a completely defective part.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and had the transmission rebuilt by a local transmission service. To my surprise, even the planetary gear was broken, and there were metal parts all over the place. The rebuild cost me $1850, but it was worth it because it works great in my truck now.

I learned a valuable lesson from this experience: never buy used parts unless you buy them locally from someone you can actually work with. These guys at AM Used Auto Parts are crooks in my view, and I would never buy from them or recommend them to anyone. In fact, this is the first time I have ever left a negative review anywhere or anytime.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Terrible Experience with AM Used Auto Parts - A Warning to All Buyers

I, Gary K from Phoenix, have had a terrible experience with AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). I purchased two transmissions for my 09 Jeep Patriot and 07 Ford 500 before Christmas of 2016. We agreed on a price of $1100.00 each with a 3-year warranty, which was confirmed via email. However, just before shipping, they decided to increase the price by $195.00 for each transmission. I tried to negotiate and stick with the agreed prices, but they refused. I had no choice but to pay the extra money.

I was supposed to receive both transmissions before the end of 2016, but unfortunately, one arrived three weeks late, and the other arrived seven weeks late. I activated the warranty through the website link they provided, but the Jeep transmission turned out to be faulty. I called and emailed them multiple times, but they were unresponsive. They claimed that they didn't have a replacement available at the moment and promised to send one for free. However, they suddenly asked me to send $1100.00 for the replacement, claiming that I didn't activate my warranty, which was a blatant lie.

I lost the money I spent on the transmission and an additional $400 for the installation cost. I wouldn't recommend anyone to deal with this company. They don't deserve anyone's business.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Unreliable and Unhelpful: My Experience with AM Used Auto Parts

I recently had an experience with AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com) and it was not a good one. I ordered a transmission from them, but unfortunately they sent me the wrong one. When I contacted them about the mistake, they told me that it was my fault and that I would have to pay $300 to ship the wrong transmission back to them. I was really frustrated because I knew that I had ordered the correct one and they didn't have any phone call recordings to prove otherwise.

After I paid the $300 to ship the wrong transmission back, it took them three weeks to send me the correct one. When I finally received it, I was disappointed to find that there was no sales receipt or link to activate the one year warranty. I had the transmission installed in my truck and drove it for only 18 miles before it started to downshift on me. I had to have my truck towed back to the transmission shop and they told me that the transmission was defective.

I contacted AM Used Auto Parts to ask them to pay for the labor and shipping fees to have the transmission replaced, but they refused. They told me that it was a computer problem and that it was something that I had done wrong. They said that I would have to take the transmission out and pay another $300 to ship it back to them. The labor to install the first transmission was already $800, so I was really upset that they were asking me to pay even more.

Overall, I would not recommend doing business with AM Used Auto Parts. They were not helpful when I had a problem with my order and their parts are not reliable. It was a frustrating and expensive experience, and I wish that I had gone with a different company.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Poor Customer Service and Unreasonable Warranty Policy at AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com)

I recently had a bad experience with AM Used Auto Parts (amuap.com). They sell used auto parts, and I decided to purchase a used transmission for a customer who could only afford it. They told me that it had a 12-month part-only warranty, which seemed reasonable at the time.

However, when the transmission arrived, I noticed that the fluid inside was badly burned. This indicated that there was an internal problem with the transmission, which had caused the fluid to overheat. As a professional, I knew that I couldn't service a transmission that showed up in this condition.

I contacted AM Used Auto Parts to let them know about the problem, and they told me that the transmission was working when they took it out. They said that I would have to install it and then report back to them if it was faulty, in order to file a warranty claim. This seemed like a ridiculous request to me - why would I install a faulty part just to prove that it was faulty? I asked them if they wanted me to charge the customer twice, and they said yes.

I was very disappointed with this response. As a professional, I believe that it's my job to protect my customers and make sure that they get the best possible service. I don't think it's fair to ask them to pay twice for a faulty part, especially when it's covered by a warranty.

In the end, I decided to return the transmission to AM Used Auto Parts. However, they charged me a 20% restocking fee and I had to pay for the freight myself. This was very frustrating, as it meant that I ended up paying 2/3 of the original cost just to return the faulty part.

Overall, I would not recommend AM Used Auto Parts to anyone. Their customer service was poor, and their warranty policy was unreasonable. If you're looking for used auto parts, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] AM Used Auto Parts: Poor Quality and Deceptive Warranty Policies

I recently purchased a transmission from AM Used Auto Parts for my daughter's 2007 Saturn. The price was $1099.00, which seemed reasonable at the time. However, after receiving the transmission, I discovered that it had a broken 3-5R clutch snap ring and a malfunctioning pressure switch and module. The cost to fix these issues was a whopping $3,398.06!

To make matters worse, I was under the impression that the transmission came with a 3-year warranty. However, I later found out that I had to call within 15 days of delivery to activate the warranty. This was not made clear to me at the time of purchase, and I only found out after receiving the 4-page contract they sent me.

I admit that I did sign the contract, but I did not read it thoroughly. I was under the impression that the warranty was automatic and that I was covered. Shame on me for not reading the fine print, but shame on AM Used Auto Parts for taking advantage of an old lady like me.

I live in Oregon, and the transmission was going to Colorado. I found it interesting that their website had no negative reviews, but when I checked Google, it was a different story. I dealt with a man named Paul Johnson, who was not helpful at all. He told me to read the contract I signed and basically washed his hands of the situation.

As a mechanic shop owner in Oregon, I will never order parts from AM Used Auto Parts again. They do not stand behind their products, and they are not transparent about their warranty policies. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Disappointing Experience with Used Engine Company: Rusty Parts and Slow Shipping

This here is a company that sells engines, but they don't actually make them themselves. They buy them from other places and then sell them to people like you and me for a higher price. Now, I ain't no expert on engines, but I reckon they don't really know what kind of shape these engines are in when they buy them. They just take a chance and hope that they'll work for a while, and then they put a warranty on them so you can feel a little better about buying one.

I got myself an engine from these folks, and let me tell you, it looked like it had been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for a while. All the parts were rusted and corroded, and I couldn't even replace some of them without doing some major repairs. They did send me another engine that was in a little better shape, but it still needed some work before I could install it. I was hoping to save some money by buying a used engine instead of a new one, but in the end, it ended up costing me more than I bargained for.

One thing that really got on my nerves was how slow the shipping was. It took forever for them to get the engines to the carrier, and then it took even longer for them to get to me. I don't know if this is their fault or the carrier's fault, but either way, it was a pain in the neck.

The company is based in Florida, but the engines I got came from up north somewhere. I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but I thought I'd mention it.

The only good thing I can say about this company is that Bryan was pretty nice to me. He seemed like he was trying to be helpful, but I don't think he really knows much about engines either. I think he's just a middle man like the rest of them.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. If you're looking for a used engine, you might be better off going somewhere else.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Transmission

Purchased transmission for 2014 dodge grand caravan. Took 4 weeks to ship in after ordering. Supposedly 3 year warranty on transmission, warranty starts on delivery date but now warranty needed to be activated. Did not receive any information for that and when I asked the company about it they supposedly sent it to spam folder which was deleted. Send all required document to company that they asked for. Will not cover it after 10 months in car and transmission needs replaced. These people are scam artists, used every loophole to take advantage of me. Will never buy another part from them ever again, will tell everyone I know to never buy from them.

Desired outcome: Refund of money

A used engine was ordered from AM Used Auto in Lithia, FL on October 6, 2022. The VIN for the car needing the engine was given to AM to ensure the used engine we were buying was the proper one. AM Used Auto also indicated that their used parts were tested and came with a 1 or 3 year warranty. They sent the engine, and upon unwrapping it at the garage, the...

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Motor

I waited 30 days for my motor and didn’t get it. Then I called and they told me they can refund it and they said it would take 30 days for my refund to come back to my credit card. They also tried to say they could find me another motor but it would cost more money. I have nerve had such bad customer service. Also they baited me and then switched what they were offering for a much higher price. They should not be able to take advantage of people.

Desired outcome: I want a motor for the price I agreed on. I want a compliant against their surety bond.

AM Used Auto Parts [AMUAP] Replacement engine

Ordered a used engine for a 2008 Yukon. They said the engine had approx 75000 miles. Recieved the engine and installed. Started it and hand a terrible nasty banging noise. Note- hadn't left the shop yet. Called the, and was told that it was a warranty issue. Said we need to to replace all kinds of gaskets that wouldn't have anything to do with the banging noise. They told me too bad , you didn't replace the oil pan gasket, tough luck. I'm out $2900.00 dollars and had to find a different engine. DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Desired outcome: Refund for engine purchase

Purchased 2000 Toyota Tundra Engine from these guys. They stated it was inspected and only 85000 original miles. 3 year warrantee return within 7 days if not liked. All this is a lie. Don't buy from these crooks. I called same day of delivery to return because it looked like it had 200,000 miles and had a large hole in the motor. First they told me to take pictures $ send to them I did. Didn't here anything back until I called them 2 days later. Then they told me to ship back to them at my expense and I would be reimbursed after they inspect? So I did contacted same shipping co they used, they came to pick it up and wanted $3900 for shipping which I told them I didn't have. They advised to send it COD which I did. AM Used Auto refused it. Called AM used auto parts told them shipping co wanted $3900 because I didn't have account with them. ask if I could use there account or me pay them for shipping. They stated they don't do business that way. Now I owe Shipping co $3900 and don't even get that junk engine bake unless I pay shipping again. These guy's are seriously crooks.
