American Health Benefits Do not do business with these company, they are crooks

I had gone on line for 'cheap health INSURANCE'. I received a call from an agent @ AHS. Several times I said insurance and was never corrected by the agent. I signed up, paid, received the info in the mail weeks later, only then did I see "THIS IS NOT HEALTH INSURANCE". I cancelled via written notice, sent the notice of cancellation by express mail w/ signature required. I was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks to rec my refund. I have yet @ week 9 to recieve my refund and when I call I'm transferred to a Garrett Beavers @ ext 290 - he never answers his phone; I have left at least 15 messages I have never rec'd a call back from him. My messages have been to the point, professional - I'm not a loon. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CROOKS. They are administered through Careington @ [protected].

American Health Benefits Harassing and withdrawing money from account!

This number shows up with a 028 area code and often times only shows up 4 numbers as if an extension. They claim to be health benefits, insurance for those who don't get insurance with their jobs. Except they are not who they say they are. They then called me back claiming to be the IRS stating that I will be receiving $3000.00 in tax money that I should have received the year before. They ask for your bank account number for both of these. They are crooks. After believing about the American Health Benefits program, which I did receive a lot of paperwork regarding the insurance and what not. Never did they say or did I read that money would be taken from my account at any time. They began taking money from a spare account I had open back home. I was called by my bank they wanted to let me know that there was activity in my account that was unusual. I then found out at that time that I was not the only one at my branch that had been taken advantage of. My bank rep told me to go to the police with this information and so I am awaiting the paper work. These people will cuss you and threaten you and call probably on a good day 5 times. Other days anywhere from 8-15 times. I am so tired of this crap I want them found and turned in for harassment and fraud. These people are crooks!

I have spoken with a supervisor and the representatives at American Health benefits. They still have not refunded my registration fee of $199.00. These people do not offer health insurance they offer discounted fees on health services and prescription drugs.
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and file an investigation with BBB. My membership has been cancelled since February 2009 and my refund has not been returned.

I would lke to add that since 01/25/ 2007 american health benefit without my authorization or my wife's took out from our bank account a total of $3317.55. The first debit was for $99.95 and then they took out $69.95 month to month up to 11/1/2010. They used the name of my daughter whose name does not appear in our bank account. I went directly to my bank to inform them about these unauthorized activities. Thank to my bankers because they taught me how to do online banking I found out this unauthorized charge online...Anyway I will work very hard to recover my money thats for sure.

I'm pretty sure I have been scamed. Could not believe it as this William from AmeriCare Health was so incredibly wonderful. Until, I tried to actually use my benefits from the actual day I was supposedly officially insured. I paid $ 310.00 to become insured on [protected]. Well I was anything but. William gave me the wrong information, then changed the number. I was told I was not insured with this pharmacy when I even paid the upgrade. I called the customer service number so many times to be left on hold until my cell battery almost ran out on a number of occaisions. William said he was going to email me with information re: refund etc. He never did, and never once respond to any of my Numerous calls after.

I am going tomorrow to close my bank account so that they can not with draw from my account.

I have totally been ripped off. This should totally be reported to the police and they all should be arrested.

Please if anyone has any ideas about taking this company down. Let me know how to help.

I, too, may be a victim of a possible scam. The first red flag appeared when they had problems with sending me coverage info through email. I was told that they "sometimes" have problems with verizon customers. Then I was assured that the paperwork would be sent through the mail. It never came. In the meantime the intial payment has been deducted from my bank account and I have no proof of any type of coverage whatsoever. I am really upset over this and will have to close my bank account to make sure no additional funds are removed. I have sent emails to my original rep as well as left voicemail, but do not get any response. I don't understand how this company can continue on in this manner, especially if the BBB has been alerted.

This company is a complete rip off for sure. NEVER answer or return my calls, taking different amounts out of my checking account that were NOT authorized. People DO NOT allow yourselves to be scammed by this so called "benefit" like I did. They definitely are NOT reputable and will take your money and you get NO benefit. Even though I preapproved my doctor thru the doc's office AND AHB, they would have nothing to do with me at the doctor's office and I could not get a call back from the company. Stopping payment on them thru my bank, but if they change the amount from month to month, which they are doing, it will not stop the check...

WAs suspicious from the get-go about them. All the hype about only 2 slots left out of 10 in Maryland she could do and I would be one of the two. And right now they were running a special for a monthly auto-withdrawal of only $129 for life that would end in just a few days, if I waited, I probably wouldn't be able to get in ON THE DEAL! After that time, it would cost $300 monthly. I would have almost everything paid for 70% on some and 55% of other medical costs. I told her, my medications costed more than that every other week, that how would they make any money off of me... she just reiterated that it was THE DEAL they could make to help people out right now. I said no and I would get back to her Monday. Commen sense will tell you this was a scam and that old saying applies only too well here that says "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Just checked the site out for kicks, people are so willing to hurt their fellow man these days, don't they realize they will someday have to own up to all their wrongdoings? Guess not huhn! Sorry if any of you out there were unfortunately enough to be scammed by these people.

I agree, I signed up for the membership and have tried for 60 days to cancel. Every time you call, an answering machine picks up or you either hold forever and never get to talk with someone. I have mailed cancellation letters, faxed cancellation letters and emailed cancellation and still have not been cancelled. The only alternative I have at this point is to do a stop payment on my account, which costs $30, so they can't withdraw any more money. What a rip-off.
