American Blinds and Wallpaper Someday I'm going to learn to believe the reviews I see online and avoid companies like this like the plague

I placed an order for wallpaper and then found out I would need to leave the state before it was delivered. I contacted the company before it was shipped and asked that it be held until I returned. The CS took an adversarial attitude and told me they would ship it anyway. I said I wanted to cancel the order and they said I had to do it in 24 hours; I had. I filed a claim with Paypal and American Blind's answer was to speed up the shipping. So much for the claim on their website of '100% satisfaction guaranteed'.

Someday I'm going to learn to believe the reviews I see online and avoid companies like this like the plague.

American Blinds and Wallpaper Lies & Incompetence

Shame on me for buying from American Blinds after hearing about their problems. I got burned too. Building out a multimillion dollar facility and needed wallpaper delivered overnight to arrive when the contractors were there to do the work. Spoke at length about the critical aspects of the order and the fact that the contractor would go to another job if we did not have the paper here and ready to go. Super nice customer service lady assures me no problem at all, she contacts the manufacturer, verifies quantity and even a specific time that it would ship out. I paid a lot for overnight delivery and what happens - they send it 2nd day instead. So we're stuck waiting today for a truck to arrive with our paper. They had given me a tracking number and said it was sent UPS. I enter the tracking number and it comes back saying "no such number". Okay, so maybe I wrote down the wrong number. Called American Blinds customer service to get the number from them. Surprise, surprise, someone forgot to enter the number into their system so they don't have it documented. Unbelievable. Now waiting for a call back after the rep said she would call and get the number for me. However - she says they don't use UPS, only regular mail. What?! I was told UPS, what can you believe. I want some reassurance it's on a truck and will be appearing today and now they don't seem to even know who is the shipper. I am sick because I'm held accountable for getting this done. Wanting to scream at this point! Don't ever buy anything from American Blinds.

Ms. Smalley- We monitor public comments like the one you made yesterday on this forum to ensure that any time we learn about an issue, we can resolve it fast. First, I apologize for the angst you had to endure wondering about the status of your shipment. Second, your order clearly was meant to go overnight and our vendor did not do so. They let us both down so I also apologize for that. You will be given a credit for the cost of the overnight shipping.

I forwarded your inquiry to a supervisor in our Customer Service Department today, who immediately went into action. He found that your wallcoverings were in fact delivered about an hour after you posted your comments. We've left a message with a secretary in your office with that same information, but should you find that the shipping information is inaccurate, please followup with Scott in Customer Service. American Blinds and Wallpaper Do not make the same mistake I did

I ordered shades for two very big windows on Feb 10 of 2010 and today is March 4-not shipped yet. Called the company and they told me that "Bali" is behind the schedule and the order will be shipped on March 12. I called Bali and they told me that my order was on hold by Americanblinds.com until March 2- the day when I checked my order status. But, of course, they charged my credit card on Feb 10. They just use your money until you loose your patience.

Before I got my shades through Blindsgalore.com and it was done and delivered within 7 days. Wanted to save some $$ and switched to Americanblinds.com - dont do this mistake-dont order with Americanblinds.com.

American Blinds and Wallpaper Delivery default

I ordered blinds from AMERICAN BLINDS on March 19, 2010 and was given a shipping date in April. The blinds were paid for but have not been delivered to date, June 12, 2010. Several excuses were given for the failure of subsequent shipping dates, ranging from the order being shipped to the wrong address, to the order being lost, and the difficulty of shipping back to Mexico to check for damage. I have not received my order or a refund I asked for and wonder if they are a FRAUDULENT BUSINESS. They are definately NOT RELIABLE and from my experience I would advise all potential customers of AMERICAN BLINDS, BUYER BEWARE!

After all this time I get the email below.

Dear Mr. Leutschaft,

I have confirmed your order is canceled with the manufacturer and have requested a refund for you in the amount of $611.08. This refund will be in the form of a check and we ask that you allow up to 30 days to receive the refund check; however, many customers are receiving their refunds sooner than the time frame given.

Obviously the same old staff are still running the show at AMERICAN BLINDS. Shannon didn't answer my email. Now, according to Robin, I have to wait 30 more days for a refund because I didn't get the product after months! Will I ever get my money back? Will the cheque bounce, if it ever gets here? You write a nice email, Beth, but things have NOT changed at AMERICAN BLINDS. It seems as though all the company wants to do is take customers' money. Customers BEWARE of AMERICAN BLINDS!

American Blinds and Wallpaper Product delivery

I ordered blinds from AMERICAN BLINDS on March 19, 2010 and was given a shipping date in April. The blinds were paid for but have not been delivered to date, June 12, 2010. American Blinds and Wallpaper Unfair business practices

On March 19, 2010, I purchased a wallpaper product from American Blinds, Wallpaper & More, http://www.americanblinds.com.

The purchase agreement was made online and was promised to be shipped within 5-7 days.

When I did not hear anything after 7 business days, I contacted the company by phone and was advised the product was on backorder, to be shipped out in a month. A month was too long to wait for the product, so I cancelled the order and received an email notification which read: We have received your request to cancel your order. We have forwarded this request to the manufacturer. We will notify you as soon as we receive a response from the manufacturer. Once the manufacturer confirms your order as cancelled we will refund your order back to the original method of payment. We should receive confirmation within 72 hours.

The company has not issued my refund. Instead of cancelling the order as they stated in the email, it was shipped out and arrived April 22. The company failed to follow up on the cancellation and did not honor the agreement. I refused delivery on the product and again requested my refund from the company. I have also filed a report with the Better Business Bureau, but the company has still not issued a refund.

I was advised by Customer Service Manager Robin (in writing) and Customer Service Specialist Anita (by phone) that my refund was "requested" internally from Accounting on April 28, 2010, and would be issued within 5-7 business days of that date.

I called May 6, 2010 to follow up and was advised by Customer Service Specialist Karen that their "systems are down" and they are "unable to issue refunds" via credit card. Funny enough, they are still accepting payments via credit card on their site, so that seems to be working just fine!

I was promised in writing: "Once the manufacturer confirms your order as cancelled we will refund your order back to the original method of payment." I paid for this product in full on March 19, 2010, and cancelled the order March 30, 2010 as I was entitled to do so. I have fulfilled the waiting period requested by the company, I did not receive the product, and yet the company continues to withhold my payment ($220.00).

If you paid by credit card file a Customer Statement of Dispute with your bank or credit card company and they will credit your account. That's what I did after waiting for a month for my refund. AMERICAN BLINDS are crooks!

This is similar to my experience with American Blinds. My order was placed in March and they promised to ship it in April. It is now well into June and my blinds have not arrived. I received several other ship dates and excuses for the blinds not arriving, such as being shipped to the wrong address or being lost. The company appears to be dishonest and definately NOT RELIABLE. BUYER BEWARE!

American Blinds and Wallpaper They send incorrect sized products and force the customer to prove that they made a mistake

Michigan In March, my husband and I placed an on-line order for eight blinds of various sizes and colors for our new home. Shortly after placing the order, we received an email confirmation that we had placed an order and it included the total dollar amount of our order. It did not contain anything specific about the items we are had ordered. The blinds arrived, but as we were not all living in the house yet, my husband put the blinds aside to hang at a later date. About two weeks later, he opened the boxes to begin hanging, and discovered we had received ten blinds instead of eight. The two extra were the same size as two others we had ordered. He also discovered that one blind was marked on the box as being the size we ordered, but, in fact, was not. My husband called American Blinds. He was told that we had ordered ten blinds. Their order showed that. Again, we never received a detail order confirmation, just a confirmation of the order and the amount credited to our credit card. He was told he was out of luck; they would not accept the blinds back. Needless to say, he was a bit upset, but decided to chalk it up to experience (that is to never order from American Blinds again). He also had to send a digital picture of the one blind to "prove" it was an incorrect size. American Blinds has since replaced this blind. As he began to hang the blinds, my husband found two of the blinds were defective. Lucky for him, they were the blinds of which they had sent us duplicates. He called American Blinds back to report the defective blinds, hoping they would at least give him a refund because they were defective. This time, he was told that it was past the time for making exchanges. He complained vigorously and was eventually told that if he took digital pictures of the blinds and emailed them to American Blinds, they would forward the pictures on to the manufacturer to get us a refund. He dutifully took the pictures requested and emailed them to American Blinds in April. On June 19, I emailed American Blinds Customer Service and asked about our refund. In an email from Joan, she states that they never received the digital pictures we sent! This is an out and out lie-- my
husband requested and received a confirmation from American Blinds that they had received the pictures when he sent them in. I emailed this fact to Joan and have had no response from American Blinds as yet. I would NEVER, EVER do business with this company again. We have no way of proving that we did or
didn't order ten blinds from them--only their word. Their word has not been shown to be reliable. They
send defective products and accept no responsibility for them. They send incorrect sized products and
force the customer to prove that they made a mistake.

American Blinds is an UNRELIABLE COMPANY. After waiting months for my order and finally informing them that I wanted to cancel, all I have received from them is excuses. They say my blinds were sent to the wrong address, and then that they were lost. Excuses, excuses. They've had my money for months. This is definately a very UNRELIABLE COMPANY. BUYER BRWARE!

For over a month we're been waiting for samples. We finally got the samples last week and immediately went to order the blinds. The system was not working. I have now learned from AmericanBlinds TX that they were in the process of closing part the office in Michigan (4/8/10) causing the delay and updates on the web. In the meantime, on Friday morning they told me they no longer sell the product and directed me to other webs. When I checked their web. again a few hours later for an alternative to what I had been waiting for a month, the product showed up again but now it was 40% more. I phone again and was told if the morning person had done her job she could have founf and sold me the product but since she did not now the web had been updates, operations moved to TX and I was out of luck. After reading the experience of people who got the product sounds like maybe it was for the best.
