Mortgage originator and manager appear to be dishonest
During my initial conversation with the originator I stated that a non related property I'm half owner of and not on a mortgage for, would present a problem in attaining anything more then a escrow summary statement to prove I'm not on the mortgage. I was assured by both the originator and manager it would not be a problem. In addition, due to a similar problem with another mortgage company which I had applied to and was still pending. I emailed and called the originator for assurance there'd be no problem since I could now provide the escrow statement to the other company but had to do it within a short period of time. Emails and calls to the originator were ignored until it was too late. Next they demanded the statement that I originally told them would be a problem to get, the one they told me they would not be need. Since this assurance came from both the manager and originator I assumed they had experience and expertise to know. If they did, they lied to me. If they really didn't know, they're incompetent. Either way, I suggest avoiding this company. Ghosting me like he did ended up costing me money. In addition, it now appears they sold my email address to spammers, never had a problem before them. My experience - They only care about themselves and will tell you anything to get your business, like a dishonest used car salesman. I regret getting involved with this company. Run from these guys.
Desired outcome: They should be reprimanded or fired by the company
Payment not received
My bank TCF merged with Huntington bank. Account numbers have changed . I have made frequent attempts to enroll on line with auto pay. On 2 different occasions your staff assisted me and walked through the application process. All account numbers you have for me are correct and verified by huntington bank. I keep receiving e-mails and US mail stating there is no account. My bank does not know the problem and obviously your company doesnt either. Can someone please help. This is very frustrating and been going on for over 2 months. I cant solve a problem if I dont know what it is. My phone is [protected].
Desired outcome: Be enrolled in auto pay with the mortgage being taken out of my checking account.
Illegal lending practice
I am the sole titled owner of my home which I inherited from my husband when he suddenly passed away in September 2021. We have had a VA backed mortgage with Amerisave for a little over a year I am not on the Mortgage, but I am the sole beneficiary of the estate. I was immediately in contact with the company to begin the process of taking over the...

On or About November 3, 2021 I was researching mortgage rates. On AmeriSav web site I started form to determine their rates. When I got to popint where phone number was requested I suspended application as I did not want to be inundated with phone calls. One would expect that suspending apllication process would indicate a lack of interest. Instead AmeriSav-
1. Apparently looked up our phone number and made calls to us. On each call I advised representative that I was not interested and to please stop calls. After 2nd call the calls stopped.
2. In spite of my suspending any application process, AmeriSav requested on 11/04/2021 a Soft Credit Pull. In view of lack of interest in pursuing (obvious by stopping application process) AmeriSav had NO RIGHT to perform such action.
Desired outcome: Apology letter and revision of follow up procedures
Fraudulent charge for appraisal not done
I applied for a refinance loan, I gave Jonathan soronrem my credit card number, he told me it won't be charged 600.00 until I tell him iam OK with the refinance loan. [protected] his cell number. I received my bank statement and it was charged the very same day j applied. I received two different loan packages a week later . I declined it there were 3 different loans going on I was confused, I tried to call them but no one would return my calls. Finally I reached Jonathan he told me he didn't charge my card and pretended like he knew nothing about this he said Camela green did. I have called and called and sent Camila a reply on her email and she refuses to contact me. This is fraud I never signed the loan and never sent them any documents they required. The appraiser contacted me I told him not needed because the co many has not done anything
Desired outcome: I want my 600.00 back
Mortgage refi
I shopped around when trying to refinance. Rocket, Wells Fargo, Amerisave, along with 2 others... Amerisave had the best APR. So I started the process. $500 application fee? Ok, figured I'd save that with the difference in interest easily. Loan originator told me "that's why I love my job, to beat the rates and compete with the big guys." In hindsight, they probably train them with that line. 2 months later, after they were terrible getting back with me via email or phone, they denied my loan due to DTI (debt-to-income) being "just off." I was refinancing to consolidate some debt. You would think that they may actually offer to adjust the numbers to make the loan work and have a new customer, but NOPE they just simply said "I'm sorry we couldn't make it work." Makes me think they are a scam company! Conservative figure of "processing" 2000 applications a month at $500 a pop... [censored] that's a Mil right there. CROOKS! I write this in hopes they don't do the same to you!
Desired outcome: Money back??
Misleading and untruthful people!!!
Applied, spoke to a rep twice for over two hours. He said everything was good and that our approval was "GUARANTEED" all they needed was a $500 to proceed. Paid the $500 and the process began. After 3-4 weeks of Countless back and forth added thing they needed and we complied with, we were told "DENIED". Their reason was because we had one month of missed payment from last year! Wells Fargo sent us a form asking us if we would like to take advantage of their Covid assistance program for no fee, where we could defer a month to the end of our mortgage loan, so of course we took it. This did not effect or appear on our credit so we're we're fine. So this is the reason they steal our $500 and destroy our credit? We are furious and at minimum want our $500 back. One of the opening questions during the two hours of phone call should if without question been do you have 12 months of consecutive payments if this a disqualifying factor. We want our $500 back!
Desired outcome: Refund
Poor service and communication with lending originator
Began our loan with Amerisave officially on June 30th. We informed Loan Originator George Scheuchenzuber on July 5 that were sending our remaining wet-signed documents via overnight mail on July 6 to their Atlanta office. The package was tracked as received on July 7 and confirmed by Sara in the Atlanta office that the packet was received there on that day...

Loan 15338121 - Douglas Miller
I signed many papers and one was for $500 application fee. It was mixed in with all the other papers, so I did not catch it at the time. I would like it refunded.
I did not fill out that many papers for other companies just to get a loan estimate. It looks like it was intentional. The other companies did not charge an application fee, so I did not expect there to be one.
Desired outcome: refund $500
Mortgage Loan
We began the process of a home loan in March 2021. We paid a $500 application fee to lock in our interest rate. A few weeks later we received a pre-approval letter. At this point Amerisave had pulled our credit information and verified our income. Although I was the only one on the loan - due to it being an FHA loan we were required to provide my wife's information regarding her credit and they included her debts as well. We we're pre approved with all of these factors known.
We sold our home because we had a preapproval letter from Amerisave and put a contingent contract on a new home. Our new home purchase was set to close this coming Friday May 21st.
Today, May 14th we were told that their was a "miscalculation" concerning our debt to income ratio and the senior underwriter would not approve our loan. We have spent a $500 application fee, paid for a home and termite inspection, an appraisal has already been completed which we will likely foot the bill for as well as applied earnest money.
That's not the worst part. The worst part is we sold our home and currently have no place to live. We have two children. One of which is special needs. And nowhere to live. We would have NEVER sold our home would we have known we would not be able to get the loan for our new home.
We went through the entire lending process and a week before closing were told they couldn't do our loan because of our debt to income ratio - which was miscalculated apparently for several months and not caught until a week before closing. We are now out thousands of dollars, and for all purposes now homeless and living in an Airbnb. We have hired and paid movers, rented storage, and spent thousands of dollars of moving expenses. The sellers will now experience the same as they are already moved out of their home as we were set to close in less than a week. There are no words to express the damage Amerisave has caused our finances and family.
Refinance on home thru VA
These folks have had me on the hook for almost 1 year. They lied when they said they would file for a extension of my va appraisal so i had to spend another 500 getting a new one and that is almost running out...then they made me get 2 termite repoprts because the timing ran out. .we delevered every pice of info that they needed with in 72 hrs max and in most cases in the same day...Terrable service and in the last a attitude of dont keep bothering me, Ill let you know...ps they got the payof on the exicisting mortgages three times... Bad bad situation and i still can get a proper answer
Desired outcome: i want the money back I have spent

First made contact with Marc Castro on January 12, 2021 and it's now May 3, 2021 and we still don't have a loan to close.
I found Mr. Castro to be very professional, with excellent communication skills, however he became ill and then while moving quickly in the beginning the process slowed considerably. After several weeks of unsuccessfully moving the loan forward due to Marc's illness several others were added to the process finally ending with Andrew Bulo. I didn't find until much later that Marc had left the company. The communication at this point dropped off and in the last month has pretty much stopped all together.
I asked for a list of the documentations required, since only just starting with Marc when he became ill. I never got a list but rather a piecemeal series of request for info which I provided as soon as possible.
In preparation for this refi I made arrangements to pay off a HELOC for $17K and change to avoid issues with subordination. This turned out to be a major stopgap rather than a help as was intended. I provided bank statements, proof of income, tax returns and various miscellaneous information as requested. Regarding the HELOC, I provided a statement showing the wire transfer that was used to pay it off, a letter from the HELOC provider, (CENLAR) indicating the note had been paid in full along with a document showing the lien associated with the HELOC had been lifted. I was then told that this was not enough and that a letter from the provider, (CENLAR) indicating the account was closed would be required. CENLAR balked at this notion and on two or three occasions sent the original letter indicating paid in full rather than account closed. My wife and I spent literally 20-25 hours on the phone, mostly on hold attempting to get a new letter. After several weeks we got the letter which I immediately uploaded to the Amerisave portal.
We thought we were in tall cotton at this point because we received a closing disclosure dated April 08 that indicated a closing on April 13. I'm still not being communicated with by Mr. Bulo but was contacted By Mr. Hsu regarding the disclosure because I needed to know where etc. regarding the closing on the 13th. He indicated there were further issues with my income somehow having to do with my paying off the HELOC. I asked what was needed since I had already provided all the required income statements. He was not sure but had called and e-mailed Mr. Bulo and had not been able to reach him.
I then got an e-mail from Mr. Bulo requesting my 2019 tax return that I thought they already had but sent again anyway. I was then asked for additional data associated with the return. When I asked for specifics, I was told to disregard the request.
Now, when I look on the portal they are still requesting something to do with the HELOC and the tax returns and I am at a loss as to what they want or need. I then found out my loan had been turned over to 10 junior underwriters and that had lead to confusion and additional questions or request for information they already have. It's like the right hand has no idea what the left is doing.
I have since received a second Closing Disclosure that has change completely from the first one I approved. The new one calls for cost regarding subordination that should not be there, increased cost for the loan and instead of cash back to me in the amount of 463 they are now indicating I will need to pay over $500 when I was assured there would be no additional cost at closing. It is like they want me to shoulder the cost for their ineptitude which I refuse to do.
Communications have been horrible, I've sent e-mails with request for status or questions regarding this loan since the beginning and have received few answers. I asked Mr. Hsu to have a manager contact me but this was never done. I followed that request with one to Mr. Feeman, who I understand is a manager, requesting an end to this either by closing the loan using the original disclosure statement or to refund my $500. It's been three weeks and I still have no answer. As a final note, I've had to resend documents on several occasions, including statements resent today.
I have not heard from anyone! This is unacceptable. I no longer want this loan, I want my $500 back so I can go somewhere else.
Desired outcome: Return of my money
Horrible customer service. Loan processor is incompetent.
And her boss admitted that he had had complaints about her in the past. She apparently couldn't tell the difference between a bank statement and a loan statement. They make ridiculous requests for unnecessary documentation. Her supervisor was even worse.
Do not use amerisave! I have done dozens of closings in my life and this by far was the worst one.
Loan officer admitted to not locking my loan after I was told that it was
1/27/21 I signed disclosure form reflecting my rate and closing cost. Loan app # [protected].
Was told I would close in 45 days.
When I called and email for updates I received no response for a week and a half to two weeks (this happened multiple times).
3/25/21 I was informed my loan was transferred to another loan officer.
I emailed my new loan officer who said my loan was in underwriting on 3/25/21.
I tried multiple times to get an update after this and to find out my closing date. In the mean time the disclosure forms had been resent to me multiple times, each time reflecting my closing cost had increased by thousands of dollars.
I left voicemail messages and sent emails requesting an explanation for this increase but received no response until 4/2/21 (day 65 mind you) and was told that this was a legal requirement that each time the disclosure is sent the cost goes up (which I have never heard of such a law) and why are you sending me the disclosures repeatedly then? Finally on 4/8/21 (day 71 now) I was told that though I was told my loan was locked they made a mistake and did not lock my loan and this is why my cost was going up by THOUSANDS of dollars.
I cancelled my closing yet a Notary Public still showed up at my door because the Processer did not cancel the Notary Public.
Desired outcome: Refund my $500 and count your blessing that I'm not suing for the tens of thousands of dollars you have cost me by not being able to refinance at the rate and closing cost I was promised.
Refinancing home mortgage
I started a refinancing loan application on January 21, 2021. I have provided all the documentation requested at a significant cost of my time. I submitted the last batch of documents last week. It cost me $56 to scan all the documents so they could be sent. I have now received requests for the same documents. I have contacted the loan agent and his assignee and they will not reply. I have to assume that I do not qualify for this loan and I would like to be refunded the $500 that I paid over 2 months ago so that I can apply for a loan elsewhere. I will be contacting my state attorney general to inform them of the deceptive business practice I have witnessed. Lee Crawford
Desired outcome: Refund my $500

Please do not use this company. They may be a highly ranked service but that "news" is most likely bought. We spent 3 months trying to refi with them and it was a complete cluster. Multiple requests for the same docs already provided, turn and burn sales strategies and an apparent lack of knowledge when it comes to tax filings. We had a closing scheduled 3 times and they pulled out at the last second. For this great service, you get to pre-pay a fee, which they will never return when they screw up.
Desired outcome: Returnn of deposit

They have an online portal of your to-do list which include the appraisal, homeowners insurance, disclosures, Loan estimate, copy of 2 month banking...

AmeriSave Mortgage is a deceptive company. Friday my wife and I received information from AmeriSave titled "Notice to Home Loan Applicant." The problem was that we had never heard of AmeriSave and did NOT apply for a Home Loan through AmeriSave (or anyone else). On Monday I...

After 4 months of unanswered phone calls, the loan was ready to go to the underwriter. I received an email from AmeriSave that the loan was denied. I called AmeriSave loan process person but no reply. Text the loan representative and no response. Last week text for a copy of my appraisal which I paid for and again no response.
Refinance
Amerisave quoted me a great rate to refinance my home, so I chose them. To get started, they said they wanted a $500 fee to lock in the rate. I paid the fee, but they did not lock in the rate. I complained that the "rate lock" agreement that they sent to me to sign did exactly the opposite. It stated that the rate was NOT being locked and could change. I objected and refused to sign. Their first good faith estimate was exactly what I expected, but after that their estimates kept climbing and climbing and climbing. The rate went up. The points went up. The costs went up. By many thousands of dollars. When I objected they said not to worry, all would be corrected at closing. Only it never was corrected. I waited six months and still no closing scheduled and no corrected documents. I finally switched to another lender. I am out $500 and six months for nothing.
Desired outcome: Refund $500 fee paid

They told me that the $500 fee would be refunded if the loan didn't go thru and would not be refunded only if I backed out. In addition, I was also told that a form related to another house, not the one for the loan and one I owe nothing on, would not be needed but later it was. My experience was that they say one thing and do another. Communication was a big problem. the loan originator actually ghosted me, no return calls or replies to emails. Very unhappy with the company. Loan still pending. I'd avoid them if I had it to do over.
