New floor / edges
June 9 th used handyman mick to put down new floor paid down payment was told start that week. Came for 1 hr then left was told be back next week came a left after 1 hr finally had some one come June 19 for half a day they took up floor carpet put subfloor down. Then returned following week a finished floor for 2 days work. Told come at 8:30 /9:00 shows up about 10:00 floor down but edges are jagged at corners, around walls no edging put down. The floor carpet that was pulled sat out side for over a week was told pick up on weekend nope then next weekend they might pickup Finally June 23 rd paid balance after being charged 4000.00 extra. For subfloor an 500.00 for garbage pickup. Give a 3 maybe 4 rating no satisfied with crew at all

landscaping
I got a landscaper recommended by Angi. The contractor signed a contract and took a deposit of $2000 and I had to contact him several times to finish the job, unfortunately its almost 3 months, nothing has been done. When I contacted Angi, they said sorry, they themself are not in this state, they cannot help, and the case is closed. They cannot even provide the full contact information about the crook contractor that they send. Just now we found out that Angi is still using this contractor who is a con man. He has several bad reviews online and he is doing the same thing what he did to us. It's a shame that Angi is sending unprofessional contractors to people's private residences yet sit in a different state and pretend they are not liable for anything.
Desired outcome: I need my refund
Jackson's Home Improvement
I hired Jackson's Home Improvement on 4 April 2023. It was a whole house renovation. First of all, the owner is a fast talker, that did not listen, did not write things in detail that I wanted done. He did things the way he wanted them done. Things he said he would do, he did not. I had some supplies that I wanted him to use to cut down my costs. He used 2 of my doors, but still charged me for them. He used my tile in the hallway bathroom but instead of using the rest of the tile I had he used the tile I picked out for the kitchen backsplash on the floor in the master bathroom. He put tile in the kitchen floor that was supposed to be laminate flooring throughout the house. It looked so bad, I had him tear it up and replace with the laminate wood flooring (which he charged me extra for his mistake). He was suppose to build me new shutters, but instead he spray painted them black (getting black paint on the brick) and not securing them the the wall. Numerous places on the walls, trim and ceilings need to be smoothed and repainted. Some of the the trim is not nailed to the wall. Electric sockets, light fixtures and ceiling fans have paint on them. One ceiling fan is mounted uneven. Door to the master bathroom rubs against the floor. Tile on the wall of the master bathroom shower is uneven and not sealed. The kitchen backsplash is uneven and does not cover the whole wall. The cabinets need the side wood placed on them. Their is a hole underneath the cabinet and one the door rubs. Stain on the cabinet door where something was spilled on it. The mail box was not put up. The flooring is cut short around the fireplace, and the doors. Door stops need to be placed behind all the doors. Some of the electric sockets are not flush to the wall. He was supposed to install a new garage door opener, but he didn't. Do not put the door back on in the linen closet or paint it white. Also, the doors were painted, but not smoothed out. Paint splasher all over. He was supposed to power wash my house, but didn't. My house is dirty. They did not clean up. I'm sure there are other things that I missed. After I paid the last payment, Mr. Jackson will not meet with me to do a walk thru to correct my concerns. This is the worse workmanship I have ever seen. I'm sure if a contractor left his home in this state he would be upset also.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund, because the job is substandard. He charged me more then the quote. Things were redone because his of mistakes and I supplied some of the supplies. Also, I have lost faith in Mr. Jackson to do a good job.
Santho's Home Repair
I originally contracted Satho to relay bricks. He quoted me $300. to relay bricks I already had. That included leveling the ground and using sand to stabilize the bricks.
He then showed me his portfolio and claimed he is an expert drywall guy and I hired him to also replace drywall and install recessed lighting in the kitchen and guest bathroom. He charged me a downpament of $426 (half of the total).
He claimed he was an expert in masonary work and could tile ceiling tile in both the master and guest bathroom. He charged me $850 (half of the total) i Fired him before he started this job. I stopped payment on the balance of the drywall ($426) to recover some of the expenses.
He started the bricks, but didnt complete the project before starting the drywall work.
The outcome: He came late, left early or didn't show up at all on the days he was supposed to work.
Project 1
The Bricks he relayed are worse than they were before he relayed them. He didn't level the ground so the bricks are uneven, not spaced properly, unstable and dangerous to walk on. He didnt complete the project by filling in between the bricks with sand. When I complained about his work and craftsmanship, he claimed the ground needed to be leveled; He suggested starting over but this time laying leveling cement before laying the bricks and of course for an additional fee. I declined.
Project 2:
He removed the existing lighting and added drywall to the ceiling with recessed lighting fixtures. He made a horrible mess in the kitchen; did not property stage the project before beginning the work. He left two five foot lightbulbs in the ceiling where he had drywalled. I had to ask him to remove them. While doing so he damged a three tier shelf. He then added the spackle and had it all over the walls and cabinets. The ceiling was uneven and gouges around the recessed lights. The finished product lacks craftmanship and fine details. not to mention damaged cabinets and three tier shelf. I had to hire Joseph Stephens and Son's to repair the mess.
Project 3:
He replaced the drywall and installed the recessed light. He then sprayed orange peel all over the ceiling and walls in clumps and getting the spray in the tub, shower walls, floor and ruined a $150 mirror because again he didnt stage the area properly and made a horrible mess in the bathroom. The outcome: Where the ceiling and wall meet, there are clumps of orange peel, the wall line is uneven and the painting is absolutely horrible with streaks in areas he was not supposed to paint. When I complained, he said her would come back and repair his work. I fired him and hired Joseph Stephens and Sons to repair his mess.

Desired outcome: Joseph Stephens and sons reported that Santho worked for them for a short while and had to fire him for not showing up to work and his work product was unprofessional and lacked craftsmanship.
Lead generation
So two weeks into this Angie’s Lead bs I’ve paid a 288$ membership fee, 350$ for the first week of crap leads, half of which I disputed to no avail and one job to come to fruition on 120$. Next week rolls by with leads off and I still get a bill for 550$, mins you I’m a single dad w/ 6 kids….they are crooked crooked crooks who just sit back and steal money from us for a lead generation that they have t properly investigated before they’ve given the job to said contractors. They are remorseless in the fact that none of the leads are worth a crap and then double stern on “we’re not giving you a refund of your funds.
Desired outcome: I want my money back. Only 3 of the 30 someodd leads generated were actual job opportunities
Not being able to cancel service
I never started the campaign. I canceled within a few days of First starting it due to other people, complaining about their services locally and not being able to get them off. I am running into the same issue, and they’re threatening to affect my credit if I don’t pay, they’re still sending me leads I keep on telling him no but it’s relentless. I don’t know what to do.
Desired outcome: 1200.
Lawn Service - Angie's List
Elder, was supposed to arrive at 10 am today. He didn't arrive until the afternoon. Also, he only cut a portion of my lawn, then just left the property without contacting me. When I arrived from work, I saw the incomplete job, and called him. He claimed the grass was too long and the yard too big? Since there was about a 3 day delay after my booking, I explained to him that grass grows. That night, I finished my lawn myself with my tiny $125 dollar Walmart push mower.
Desired outcome: He's fired.
Electrical "Pro"
I Contracted with Angi for electrical work. The "pro" came out 4 hours late, worked for 1.5 hours then disappeared for 1.5 hours. The "pro" worked 30 more minutes then advised his time was up. Outlets wer pulled out of the walls, wires exposed and then he stated he would return the bext day to finish the job. The "pro" never returned. I ended up hiring someone myself, to get the job done.
Desired outcome: I want a refund

Well lets first start with never ever give finance information until job is completed & your satisfied! No matter what you read they will take your money as fast as they can get it the so-called waiting until job is done is BULL COOKIES! First time around I am just looking chewing things out not too surrey give a little info "no finance info" my name, phone, address, what I am interested in having done BAM! I have not even Got off phone & had 6 hours of sleep! 8AM SUNDAY MORN. I have some guy who can hardly speak a word of English trying to talk to me about angles then I got it Angie's// I lit into his A44 LIKE I WAS IN HIS FACE! Are you Frikken kidding me I didn't even agree to anything & this Co. has me signed up and shipped out the firkin door already!
So, I call Cust ser. they're like oh! we don't know how it happen, he we go with the little green man running around doing stuff no one knows anything about, but it got done! so a few days later I have no choice as seems all electricians are booked or through some type of system and I get angies they send this guy to my house / first thing after they set me up good word setup as we don't charge you until job is completed? really? then how come theirs more damage done to my issue/ electric switch self-contained then there was before your man got there and payment was taking in less than 6 hrs. after me giving my finance payment option. well my guy arrives 10 min late no problem however he's a talker so 20 min discussing stuff about electric I just want to see what I did wrongs I put all back way it came out all came on but would not go out he opens switch all wires laying nice & neat in what I call the cleats holder's for the wires as no wire nuts the positive wire had to be cut short and kept apart is all I could figure everything else could be left alone this guy starts pulling and tearing wires out and having me flip this switch and that switch and this switch a etc. etc. etc. etc. this goes on for 45 min. he winds up with a knot of wires on one side of the switch & I knows there is no way in hell that switch goes like that he is not even trying to put the back on he's just trying to shove the switch box into the switch hole then starts to break the sheet rock around the hole & try's using 3-inch sheet rock screws to hold it in place which just dames the hole more. after all of this he says he going to use another switch I have but he has to go get a box for it and will be right back an hour passes 3, 3, 4, 5 hrs. as I am recording all calls he making to me 7 telling me where he is & he getting the parts he needs for me // he went to get a holding box for the switch the hardware store is 10 min away by car. at 4: he's telling me he is getting a truck for another job he is doing, and he'll be right there! I told him not to bother I had it then I find out he did not hook up my range hood fan & light he disconnected it & left everything open bare wire hanging out of the switch holding wall hole that's damage from him pulling down on the wires and breaking the lower part of sheet rock below the switch plate & box.

I hired Reliable Development and Construction contractors License # 1061538 through Angies list to work on my kitchen. When they completed the kitchen I ask them to work on my patio deck. They did so I referred them to a relative next door to work on their patio roof well it rained and their roof work leaked and rain ruined furniture and a TV on the deck. While all this was going on the contractors left roofing and wood debris from both projects piled in both yards for days even after our project had been completed. Their response was that they had other projects and would be back to collect the trash in the yard and that they would not replace the patio damage property from the rain. We file a complaint against Reliable Development contractors and they file against us to the city. City inspectors are looking at their work. Now the thousands I paid for my patio might have to come down. How is that licensed work when they called the city on the work they did. Were taking Reliable Development and Construction to court.
New bed (bought from Wayfair) had an Angi service rider that I paid extra for.
I wrote the following at about 7 this morning, 3 June 2023 (when Wayfair was then closed): “Angi has been a no-show for TWO times now (bed assembly). This last time they sent an email I just now discovered at 7am -- they sent it in the middle of the night (at 4am) only 3 hours before the 7am appointment this morning. I must complain about these severe inconveniences (plural), and need them to come SOON, not on Tuesday as they now claim. Help!” Subsequently this morning I was able to reschedule for Monday at 7am. But really I need them to come today or tomorrow; I have a small apartment and the large heavy bed delivery package remains in the hallway on my floor of the building. Again, in summary: Angi (for Wayfair) has now been a no-show TWICE. The Angi team has yet to come. Membership
I called and cancelled EVERYTHING with Angi. The Contractor that was supposed to work with me, never called or text me back. So, I called Angi and cancelled...At that time, I also cancelled my membership with Angi. The representative stated she would take care of this.
I received notification (from Affirm) that the membership fee was due on June 1st. This is totally incorrect. Affirm Representative stated that they located my Angi Mobile loan ID: LKDL-S2QQ, which was processed for $725.00. Also, they see that the merchant (Angi) issued a partial refund in the amount of $695.36. Affirm indicated that keep in mind that since Angi didn´t credit us back the full funds we lent, I still have a balance of $30.15.
As I stated, I cancelled my account and no longer wanted to use anything on Angi's List.
Please canceled the $30.15 deduction ASAP that is supposed to come out of my account from Affirm.
Desired outcome: CANCELLED MEMBERSHIP ASAP and do not have Affirm withdraw the membership fee from my account.

I keep getting charged for services (lawn mowing) that I have not received
I signed up for bi weekly lawn mowing service with Angi. The first "pro" they sent out showed up late, did not have appropriate equipment and left without finishing the job. He said he would return the next day to finish. He did not show up. I contacted him again, he said he would come the following day. He did show up in the afternoon, still without the proper equipment and did not finish the job. I contacted Angi and cancelled the service. It showed on the app that the service was cancelled. The following week I start getting reminder emails that I had a service scheduled. I tried emailing, no response, I called. Talked to someone that barely spoke English and then I was put on hold for 40 minutes before I had to hang up. I spoke with the "pro" and told him I had cancelled the service. The next week I was charged for a lawn mowing but did not receive one. Tried calling again, was again put on hold and never spoke to anyone. Today I was scheduled for mowing again. I received a text message that the service had been rescheduled for three days from now and looking at my bank account, was charged AGAIN for services not rendered.
Desired outcome: Money refunded for the TWO services not received and cancellation of all future bookings. $206.66
Unauthorized charges for cleaning services not performed
We signed up for ongoing house cleaning services around April 1st. A cleaner showed up on April 6th and did a horrible job. We sent several texts and emails advising of our dissatisfaction and to cancel this service. When I called customer service, I was told there was no record of the agreement. Yet my card was charged $188.62 on 4/6/2023.
On April 19th another cleaners showed up at our door. I explained we cancelled service 2 weeks before. The person left without entering our house. Yet my card was charged $158.63 on 4/19/2023.
On May 3rd yet another cleaner showed up at our door. I explained we cancelled service 4 weeks before. The person left without entering our house. Yet my card was charged $158.63 on 5/3/2023.
Desired outcome: A refund for services charged and not performed.

Asphalt paving
I used angies list to have All American Paving in Toms River install a new driveway with belgium blocks in April of 2022. The driveway starting sinking in 10/2022. Contacted the owner in March of 2023 when it is the temperture to make repairs. He kept saying he would come out. I called at least 6 times, I spoke to him twice but he does not come out.
Desired outcome: Make my driveway look like the $4,400 I spent on it. Should not have to be having repairs this soon

I purchased a battery on a loan from this company who is so money hungry and greedy they have lost my business for good. I took out a loan for a battery and Walmart said the warranty was still good and comped me for the battery. The manager of Walmart talked to someone on the phone and told them to cancel the loan which they refuse to do...so I refuse to pay them. They decided to treat. Repeat customer like trash so I do the same to them mot paying this.

Cancelled my contractors account months ago. They harass me almost daily to sign back up. Then two months later they hit my credit card for an account fee anyway. I know my account t has been closed because I just tried to log in and wo t let me because my account t doesn’t exist anymore. When I called into complain and reverse charges they hung up on me.

kitchen refacing service Heritage Kitchens and Countertops. NJ
I went into a contract with the above-mentioned providers. Got a quote, made an initial payment...May 2022. Finally they receive the refacing items September 2022. Lots of conflicting time, then deaths in family, now they want to put a lien on my house because I am not committing to a date and the next payment. The owner of the company told me to SHUT MY FXXXING mouth.
HOW, HOW, How can I let these people in my house to do work?

Sealcoat & crack repair on an airplane runway
On 7/15/22 I met with Waylon from JWM Excavating & Seal Coating & his proposal was presented to me. The cost for the seal coating only was $9700. We also discussed filling in several deep, wide cracks & 0n 7/22/22 another proposal for this work was presented for $5600. We shook hands & agreed on the job to be performed as well as the pricing. Shortly after the cracks were filled in, the heat was causing the material to bubble up & sink into the cracks. Waylon came back a second time & did the same exact thing as the first time with the same result. He came back a third time redoing a few of the worse cracks but again the same thing happened. I spoke with him in October expressing my dissatisfaction with the job & was told by Waylon to reach out to him in the spring. Over the winter the material in the cracks completely broke down & crumbled spewing the material all over the runway. This looks awful. After contacting Waylon yesterday he has refused to make this right. Also there are spots where the seal coat was applied thinly & appears to have washed off over the winter. I have tried to express to him how upset I am over paying him $15,000 for this work & how it turned out.
Spring clean up pro did not complete 1 full hour work
The late was Thursday, March 30,2023. The job was a spring clean up. The .pro arrived 35 minutes late. The pro had no equipment, or products to clean up. She left after spending less than 1 hour on the job. My credit card was charged $217.15 for less than a hours work. My zip code is 48075, phone [protected]. Called to complaint, could not understand person, asked for supervisor, customer service rep hung up on me. I want this taken off my credit card. I had dealings with Angie List before. Never again. I am getting paper work together for BBB of Michigan My address is in Southfield Michigan. I called [protected]. I was told, someone would call me back, one hour later i am still waiting.
