Deposit Not Refunded
I ordered a car from Auto Lusso in April 2007 and paid a £1, 000 deposit. They stated that the car would be delivered to the UK in May 2007. I therefore sold my existing car and borrowed my fathers. For the whole of 2007 and until May 2008 Auto Lusso could not confirm when this car would be built! I eventually, after having been extremely patient with them, was forced to cancel the order. My circumstances had become too difficult with borrowing a car and I had to get my own car urgently. Auto Lusso did not even have the decency to refund my deposit instead they would not answer my e-mails. I contacted Trading standards who tried their best but advised that I should contact my credit card company as I used my card to pay the deposit. My credit card company dealt with Auto Lusso's bank who offered a £500 refund because, guess what?..their terms and conditions say that if you cancel an order you're only entitled to half the deposit back. I had to accept this as the whole affair had gone on too long but I am extremely disgusted in their attitude and the fact that I patiently waited a year only to have £500 stolen from me. I WAS FORCED TO CANCEL THE ORDERTHROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN!
DO NOT ORDER A CAR FROM AUTO LUSSO THEY CANNOT DELIVER AND WILL TRY TO KEEP £1, 000!
