Terrible experience with AutoSlash and Thrifty car rental
for a rental car booking.
Recently, I made a reservation for a rental car through AutoSlash, and I must say I was not pleased with the overall experience. I pre-paid for my rental, and when I got to the rental counter, lo and behold, the staff informed me that they didn't have any vehicles available. They told me I would have to wait for at least 45 minutes, and even then, they couldn't guarantee anything. I was pretty annoyed, to say the least.
At that point, I contacted AutoSlash, as directed by Thrifty, and they requested that I provide documentation from Thrifty on their letterhead. Now, let me tell you, getting to a Thrifty agent to receive this documentation was a nightmare; there were barely any staff members working, and I had to wait in line for almost an hour just to speak to someone. Meanwhile, I was incurring unnecessary expenses because of the delay.
After I finally got my hands on the Thrifty documentation, I sent it over to AutoSlash, expecting them to take some sort of responsibility for the inconvenience I had been through. However, I was pretty much told 'too bad' by them. While I understand the concept of a cancellation policy, I do not believe this scenario was my fault as a customer, and I think both Thrifty and AutoSlash should have taken that into consideration.
All in all, this was a terrible experience with Thrifty and AutoSlash. I do not recommend either for a car rental booking.
Autoslash saved my wallet: affordable and hassle-free car rental
So, I was goin' to Orlando and Treasure Island, FL, and let me tell ya, my wallet was feelin' pretty thin. I was lookin' for a car rental that I could afford, but all the usual suspects were out of my budget. I even looked into those shuttle services that take ya off-site to their car rentals, but the reviews were so bad, I thought it might not be worth it.
Then I stumbled upon Autoslash (autoslash.com), and let me tell ya, it was a game-changer. I just googled "how to find the best car rental price", and they popped right up. Within five minutes, I had an email with links to the best car rental prices around, and most of 'em were from reputable companies, like Alamo. I even found a mid-size car for seven days at just $180! Bada bing, bada boom!
When I got to the car rental spot, it was so easy. The process was pretty much hassle-free, and it only took me about five minutes to pick up my car. Even returnin' it when I was done was a breeze. So fast and easy, my kinda style.
Thanks so much to the folks at Autoslash. They really came through for me when I was in a pinch. I'll definitely be recommendin' them to my buddies, and I'll be usin' 'em again next time I'm lookin' for cheap car rentals. They're the real deal!
Disappointing Refund Process: My Experience with AutoSlash
I gotta tell ya folks, I been usin' AutoSlash for a while now and thought they was great, until just recently. I gotta say, I'm real disappointed with their refund process. I travel pretty frequently and rent cars often, so I always looked to AutoSlash for their great deals on rentals.
I even recommended them to all my pals, but now I'm regretting it. Recently, I had to make a reservation, then cancelled it and made another within an hour. But guess what folks, it's been nearly three weeks and no refund yet. It's been a real headache, let me tell ya.
I had to exchange more than 16 emails with them (they ain't got no phone support for customer service) and finally found out that they couldn't issue my refund to my credit card because of some kind of issue on their end. Now they gotta mail me a check, and it's already been sitting for three dang weeks. Now I gotta wait yet ANOTHER week for the check to come in while interest is racking up on my card (they did mention that I could dispute the charge with my CC company though).
They didn't offer to do anything to help me out, they wouldn't pay my interest or give me any kind of future discount or savings. Basically, I was stuck without $200+ for a whole month when their refund policy is supposed to be only seven days. What a nightmare! I tell ya, don't rent with AutoSlash or you might end up in the same kinda pickle as me.

Autoslash: The Must-Have Tool for Saving Money on Car Rentals
I done autoslash like a dozen times now and it's always saved me some dough. At first I thought the prices wasn't all that different from other car rental sites, but then I found out something real neat. You can register your booked reservation with autoslash and they'll keep scouring for a better deal for you, taking into account any discounts you might be eligible for like AAA and stuff. And if they find a better price, they'll let you know and you can choose to book at the lower rate and cancel your initial reservation. Easy peasy, right?
I once saved no joke $100 on a 3 day car rental up in Alaska thanks to autoslash. And I ain't even mad about the extra phone call I gotta make to the rental company to confirm my reservation and my frequent renter number. It's always gone smooth as butter when I pick up my ride and they ain't never charged me more than what was quoted.
I think autoslash is the bee's knees and I ain't even getting paid to say that. Plus, did you know you can register a reservation you already made on another site or even on autoslash itself? Just keep that in mind for next time you're looking for a car rental.
Autoslash: My Lifesaver for Affordable Car Rentals - A Highly Recommended Service
Autoslash be a no-brainer if ya gonna rent a car. I be savin' thousands of dollars over a whole dang year by usin' it. Let me tell ya my story: I moved to North Caarolina to work as a wildnerness guide. My schedule was workin' one week in the woods and one week at home. But, when I moved, I couldn't afford no car and I didn't know what I was gonna do 'bout transportation when I was off work. But then, thank the Lord, Autoslash came into my life! Every off-shift for the past year and a half, I been usin' Autoslash to book a car rental, usually for $80-$115 a week. I got to drive new cars, trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs for a cost of just $200/month. Plus, since I wasn't ownin' no car, my car insurance costs were low and I didn't have to pay nothin' for car maintenance, even though I drove all the way down to South Florida, Indianapolis, Chicago, Princenton, Chattanooga, and all through the southern states! Autoslash is a true lifesaver, and I am so grateful for it! Highly recommended!
Autoslash: My Go-To for Car Rental Savings and Outstanding Customer Service
Autoslash has been my go-to for car rental reservations since the day I stumbled upon it. I have used their services every year without a hitch, and they have saved me a ton of money over the years. Now, I must add that all my rentals have been within the USA, as I have not yet had the opportunity to test their services for my travels to Europe. But once quarantine restrictions lift, I am excited to use Autoslash for my European escapades.
I am a pretty basic, easy-to-satisfy customer, and I have found that being a little flexible with my travel plans can go a long way in saving money. The icing on the cake, however, is their outstanding customer service. Case in point, I had a bad accident with an Autoslash rental a few years ago, and the person I talked to about it was incredibly helpful, and I felt completely supported throughout the process. Since then, I have always opted for car rental insurance, and my preferred provider is Allianz, as they have always provided great coverage and protection.
Now, let me tell you a bit about my friends. I have tried to convince my little old boomer lady friends to use Autoslash, but they seem to be stuck in their old ways and cannot comprehend their email business model. But, as a fellow little old lady (or at least, that's how I feel sometimes), I think Autoslash's methods are easy to navigate and work just fine. I cannot understand why more people do not know about this fantastic company. Personally, I adore Autoslash, and if I could love a company, this would be the one. It feels like a best-kept secret, and I am grateful to have discovered them.
Proceed with Caution: My Disappointing Experience with AutoSlash's Reservation and Cancellation Policy
I made a reservation for a rental car at AutoSlash on the same day that I needed to pick it up. It was an urgent matter and I was willing to pay the price upfront. However, after a few moments, I realized that I made a mistake and I needed to cancel the reservation. Unfortunately, I cancelled it outside of the allowed cancellation period of 48 hours. Despite my explanation that I had no chance to cancel before the policy timeframe, the customer service representative informed me that I could not get my money back. The reservation was $402.42 and it was a big loss for me.
I was disappointed that the website did not alert me about the non-refundable policy. It was also not clear that I would forfeit my money if I cancelled outside the 48-hour window. I felt that this information should have been more prominently displayed on the website. Moreover, as a debit card user, I was surprised that my payment went through. The representative informed me that they only accepted credit cards. The payment transaction probably should have been blocked from going through. It's a false sense of hope to have accepted a payment that would not be honored.
To make matters worse, the customer service employee with whom I corresponded over email had no sympathy for my situation. He was rude and unsympathetic. His lack of empathy and unwillingness to help was hurtful. It's not the kind of service that one expects from an online company.
In summary, I would advise that individuals be careful when making a reservation with AutoSlash. You should clearly be aware of the cancellation policy and have adequate funds on your credit card before making any prepaid reservations. Be aware that customer service may not always be helpful. I wasn't happy with the customer service that I received, but hopefully, your experience with AutoSlash will be better than mine. My advice would be to proceed with caution.
AutoSlash - An Awesome Experience That Saved Me Money on a Rental Car
At first, I ain’t gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical about using AutoSlash. I ain’t ever heard of it before and none of my circle do I know have used it. But the rates for family vans over the 4th of July holiday was crazy high, you know what I’m sayin’? So I decided to try it out and boy was I glad I did!
Just like the website promised, I got an awesome deal on a van from a reputable company in LAX airport (only one minor issue was that I had a mileage limit per day, but that wasn’t a big deal for me since I wasn’t planning on going too far).
AutoSlash sent me several emails when I made my reservation through them. The most important email though, was the one with my reservation number for both AutoSlash and the rental company. With that reservation number, I went to the rental company’s website and typed it in to find out that they had a reservation under my name with the expected rate and dates. I printed that page out just to be on the safe side.
The day I went to pick up the rental, I ran into a bit of a problem at the rental company. Long story short, the counter employee messed something up in the computer and didn’t want to honor the rate we had reserved. I immediately called AutoSlash, and even though they ain’t got no live customer support ‘cause it’s free, they did instruct to send an urgent email and leave a voicemail. And let me tell you, they called me back right away! An AutoSlash representative was on the phone with me the whole time and spoke directly to the counter associate and then the manager. In the end, the manager agreed to modify the rate and give me the rate I had reserved. Everything worked out great and even when I returned the minivan after a week, there weren’t any issues!
Honestly, AutoSlash gave me a great price and the best experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to save some money on rental cars.
AutoSlash Review: Save Big on Car Rentals!
yo yo yo, if you're lookin' to save some dolla dolla bills y'all on car rentals, then AutoSlash is the way to go! So, I was tryin' to rent a car from the Savannah Airport and the Burlington VT airport for a trip I had in August 2016, and let me tell you... the prices were cray cray! Like, I started lookin' in May and everything was so darn expensive! But then, I stumbled upon AutoSlash and I was like, "What is this magic?!" Basically, they keep checkin' the prices and if it goes down, they'll book it for you at the lower rate. And the best part? They keep doin' this all the way up until your rental time! Like, who has the time to keep checkin' prices like that? Not me, honey!
Anyways, I booked with AutoSlash and boy did it pay off! My Savannah rental for 10 whole days went down by a total of $125, which is like half of what it originally was! And my Burlington 5-day rental went down $20, but unfortunately, the price went up by nearly $100 on Burlington rentals overall. But that's besides the point... the point is that AutoSlash saved me some major cash!
Oh, and let me tell you... I'm a pretty skeptical gal, so I double and triple checked to make sure that AutoSlash was actually gettin' me the best price. And they totally were! All the pricing was honored, and I could even print my reservations directly from the rental agency itself. The only thing to keep in mind is that there's an AutoSlash reservation number and a different confirmation number for the rental car company, so use the rental car agency's confirmation number to find your reservation. Trust me, I learned that the hard way, haha!
If you need to contact AutoSlash, just shoot 'em an email and they'll get back to you super quick. The only thing that didn't work for me was when I tried to reply with "urgent" in the subject line, but I guess you just gotta start a new email thread for that. No biggie though!
Overall, I'm super stoked that I found AutoSlash and I'll definitely be using it again for all my car rental needs. As long as they keep giving me the same service, I'll be a happy camper!

Costco vs AutoSlash: A Comparison for Finding Cheap Rental Cars
My buddy told me to check out AutoSlash to find a cheap ride, so I gave it a shot. I'm in Costco, too, so I compared the two. Turns out, AutoSlash wasn't all it's cracked up to be. I didn't really see any solid deals compared to what Costco was putting out. Plus, Costco just seems to work better overall. AutoSlash is okay, I guess, but Costco has more savings and is just way easier to use. So, if you're in the market for a rental car, my advice is to skip the AutoSlash and go straight to Costco.
Autoslash Review: Deposit Mishap and Lack of Customer Service Leads to Frustration and Refund Dispute
I recently rented a car using Autoslash and had quite the experience. First off, I paid a deposit to Autoslash for the rental in France, with the balance due when I arrived at the rental agency. However, when I got there, the agency had no record of my deposit. I was really frustrated and confused about what to do next.
After a prolonged call to Hertz, I ended up having to pay the full amount for the rental because the deposit hadn't gone through. I was not impressed with Autoslash at all - I mean, if I hadn't been able to pay for the rental in the moment, I would have been left stranded with no car.
Anyway, I contacted Autoslash in the hopes of getting a refund for my deposit, since it clearly hadn't gone through, and I was promised a refund by "Chris" for their mistake. I waited and waited. And waited.
After six weeks, I still hadn't received any money back from Autoslash. In fact, Chris stopped responding to my messages altogether. This was beyond frustrating - I mean, I had paid them and they had messed up, yet they weren't even willing to refund me as they'd promised.
In the end, I had to dispute the charge on my credit card to get my money back. What a hassle and waste of my time! I highly recommend that you avoid Autoslash - it's just not worth the risk of something going wrong and them not being willing to make it right.
AutoSlash Review: Disappointing Prices & Waiting Time for Email
So, me wanted try a lot of car rental sites to find the best deal. Came across AutoSlash, they had good reviews, so me gave them a whirl. Well, after waiting for a whole half hour, the prices they give not so good ya know? Other sites, they give better prices with just one click, no need for all me personal info and waiting for an email. And not just a bit higher prices, but at least $5 or more! Me think this pretty bad, so me not recommend AutoSlash at all. Better off looking somewhere else, mate.

AutoSlash Review: Disappointed with the Service and Price Hike
So, I was thrilled to try out this car rental service called AutoSlash. It's supposed to be an awesome website that helps you find the best deals on rental cars, and I couldn't wait to see how it worked.
I booked a car rental two weeks in advance, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. But four days before I was supposed to pick up the car, I got an email from AutoSlash saying that my rental had gone up by over $100. This was a HUGE shock to me, and I was so upset that I almost cancelled the reservation altogether.
However, I decided to give AutoSlash the benefit of the doubt and see if I could find a better deal elsewhere. And guess what? I ended up finding a cheaper rental car on my own! I was so confused - how could the price I found on my own be lower than the one quoted by AutoSlash?
Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed in AutoSlash. I felt like I had wasted my time and money using their service, and I definitely won't be using it again in the future.
Autoslash Review: False Price Guarantee and Poor Customer Service Experience
I just had a not-so-great experience using Autoslash to rent a car. I went through the steps and was provided a price of $611.82 - which I was pretty happy with. But when I clicked "Complete Reservation" and got the confirmation email, the price had jumped up to a whopping $2732.42! Holy cow! Of course, I immediately called customer service to try and get this sorted out.
After being on hold for what felt like an eternity (okay, it was actually only 15 minutes), I finally spoke with a really nice woman. But she couldn't cancel my reservation - I had to do that by calling Avis myself. Ugh. So off I went to cancel, which took another hour of my time. And to add insult to injury, they refused to honor the price that they had guaranteed me.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend using Autoslash, especially if you're looking for a quick and painless experience. It's a shame, because their initial price was really competitive. But the whole ordeal left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.
AutoSlash Car Rental Review: Great for USA, but Not Recommended for Mexico- Try SIXT for Transparent Pricing
I've been using AutoSlash for renting cars in the USA and I'm very satisfied with the savings they bring. They make renting a car easy and affordable. However, I have to warn you, do not use them for renting cars in Mexico. It can be a bit misleading and you could end up spending way more than you expected.
AutoSlash quote does not include the mandatory liability insurance in their package price in Mexico. They have a disclaimer notification, but it's tucked in very tiny letters and you may miss it. That can be very deceiving. You might end up feeling ripped off and forced to pay five times more for insurance than what you had calculated in the first place when renting a car in Mexico.
If you want transparency and an accurate quote, it's best to go with SIXT. With SIXT, you won't have to worry about hidden fees or costs. They're much more upfront about their prices, so you can get the correct and whole quote, which is a great help in planning your budget.
All in all, AutoSlash rental service is fantastic for rentals in the USA, but you need to be careful when using it for car rentals in Mexico. Therefore, if you're planning a trip to Mexico, it's better to look for other alternatives, such as SIXT, that can provide more accurate and transparent pricing information.
AutoSlash Reservation Review: Watch Out for Hidden Fees with Alamo
Just got our reservation for our upcoming trip from AutoSlash and it was a real relief! But when we reviewed it on the Alamo website, we noticed that it didn't cover the $315 Rent Tax Surcharge. We told AutoSlash and they said they were looking into it, but it's still not resolved. Anyone else experiencing the same issue with Alamo and AutoSlash? We're a little worried that this could ruin our trip.
Update: AutoSlash finally fixed the issue and we were able to get our car rental without any additional fees. It was a bit of a hassle, but we're glad it's resolved now. We still recommend using AutoSlash for booking your car rentals because they helped us out when we needed them. Just keep an eye out for any hidden fees and make sure you communicate with them right away if you run into any issues.
Autoslash Review: Misleading and Frustrating Experience with Priceline-owned Company
I tell you what, I had a really bad experience with Autoslash. I spent a lot of time this morning trying to book a rental car online and I ended up with nothing to show for it except wasted hours. I used the website to request a quote and they responded really quickly with a great price. I was feeling pretty good about it at that point, but when I clicked through to Priceline to finalize the reservation, I got error message after error message. Every time I tried to use their link to book the car, it just wouldn't work. And the most frustrating part was that they had a link to a more expensive rental in the same city and on the same date - what a ripoff!
After doing some research, I found out that Autoslash is actually owned by Priceline. That explained why they were pushing me toward their more expensive options. And that's not cool - it's totally misleading and unfair. I thought Autoslash was supposed to be a company that helped people find the best deals on rental cars, but now I'm not so sure.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend using Autoslash. They may be quick to respond with a quote, but if you can't actually book the car, what's the point? And the fact that they're owned by Priceline just adds another layer of sketchiness to the whole situation. Save yourself the time and frustration and look elsewhere for your car rental needs.
AutoSlash Review: Stressful Experience with Their Services
I gotta say, my experience with AutoSlash was not all sunshine and rainbows. I'm not one to trust those big booking websites, so I thought I'd give AutoSlash a try. I mean, they claim to save you money on rental cars and who doesn't love that?
But man, was I in for a bumpy ride. The email links they sent me to Priceline didn't work. I kept getting hit with error messages that said my request couldn't be completed. What a pain in the butt! And even when I tried to browse all the available vehicles, I was met with disappointment. Apparently, the car I wanted had a higher price tag now. Ugh.
I thought I'd try and contact AutoSlash about my issues, but that was a nightmare too. When I submitted my message on their website, it froze up and didn't even send it through. Seriously?!
At the end of the day, I don't know if I'd use AutoSlash again. Sure, it might save you some money, but the whole process was just too stressful for me. I'll stick to good ol' fashioned car rental offices from now on.
AutoSlash Failed Me: False Advertising and Unreliable Pricing
You won't believe the trouble I had with AutoSlash. I went through them to book a rental car from Hertz through Priceline. I thought I scored a great bargain with a total price of $475.63, but then I signed up for their price watch system. Big mistake! They sent me an email offering a better deal for $690. What the heck am I supposed to do with that?
I sent them an email asking why my original price wasn't the best deal, and they told me the car I rented actually cost $979.82. I couldn't believe it! I checked with Hertz, and sure enough, the rental really was priced at that amount with the same confirmation number. When I brought up my $475 confirmation, they said it wasn't their problem, and I should call Priceline.
Talking to Priceline was a real nightmare too. They fed me some line about higher taxes at the time when I booked the car and basically told me to deal with it. What a frustrating experience!
I definitely won't be recommending AutoSlash to anyone, that's for sure. It's not right to give people false hope with deals that don't actually exist. If they can't offer reliable pricing, what else can they help with? Not worth the headache.
No more
I used to use only this car rental service while visiting New York City. Seemed very cheap to me in comparison to other similar companies.
However, I don't know what happened, but last time when I was in NYC they almost ruined my budget. So extremely expensive. Plus, when I was giving it back, they blamed me for scratches they found on a car surface. What?
My bad, I haven't taken photos before leaving, but I thought there would be no problems with them as it used to be before, so didn't expect for anything bad to happen. Well, now I know that I am done with this service and have to look for another appropriate one.
Hi Melody,
Thanks for your comment, but I'm a little confused. AutoSlash isn't a car rental company--we're a discount-finding service that helps find lower rates with the big, major rental companies (i.e. Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, etc.). AutoSlash doesn't own any cars or rent cars itself or set the rates (only help find discounts to bring the rates down from what you see on other websites), so I can't quite understand how AutoSlash could have negatively affected your budget or charged you for scratches on a car.
If that happened to you on a car you rented in NYC, you would definitely want to file a complaint with the company you rented the car from, which would be like Avis or Dollar or Alamo or Budget or someone, not AutoSlash.
Also, I looked in our system and didn't see any inquiries or contacts at all from anyone named Melody Joyce--are you sure you're filing a complaint with the correct company here on Complaints Board? If you did reserve through us and would like us to help, please definitely send us an email and we'll be glad to help you out. If you didn't reserve through AutoSlash and instead had an issue with another rental company, I'd be very appreciative if you could revise the complaint so it doesn't give anyone the wrong impression. Thanks!
They told me one price, but asked to pay higher price for the same services
Awful company. I have contacted the rep from www.autoslash.com. We spoke and I finally decided to rent a car through them, but the rep told me that the price was about $300 per 3 days. It was ok for me, but after I agreed, they cancelled the deal and no one told me about it. And made another deal, but the price was much higher. Be careful, because they do everything in order not to return money.
