In Dece2021 I purchased a crème colored Bernhardt sofa for my newly purchased condominium. A year later, the sofa sagged and feathers would pop through the fabric. I called Mathis Brothers where I purchased and they told me the sofa was no longer under warranty. Then I went direct to Bernhardt with the problem and they wouldn’t even call me back. I tried to consign the sofa and no one would take it so I ended up giving it away. I do not recommend Bernhardt for anything as they do not stand behind their product. The sofa was a little over a year old, and we were gone for three months, have no children just two of us using it.

387-217d night stand and 387-229d Bachelor's Chest top is peeling . The use is less than a year
I purchased the Peppercorn bedroom set from Stacy furniture. The nightstand [protected]) is peeling at the top and the other nightstand ( (Bachelor's chest) is doing the same. I notified Terry Blade, salesperson for Stacy by phone on three occasions. Terry asked me to email customer service attention Elizabeth Dillard and Rob. I sent pictures and I did not hear anything from neither person; I contact them again two times afterward and Ms. Dillard reached out. Ms. Dillard informed that their computer was down and had me to send the pictures to her twice the 15th and 17 of August. Ms. Dillard informed me that the company denied my claim/ concerns. I will like to speak to someone directly from Bernhardt. I would like to know that I am valuable customer and someone will respond to my email. I have pictures upon request after someone contact me so I will know to whom I am sending them to.

Bernhardt Villa Toscana Credenza
I purchased a Berndardt Villa Toscana Credenza online from France and Son and was told it was in stock and I would receive in 4 weeks. It took 5 months! When I opened it and looked at the credenza it was supposed to be a lighter wood but in person was a darker almost "pea green" color, it's awful! Also 2 of the 3 doors will not close. Upon speaking to customer service (a woman named Meghan Allen) I told her the problem and she said she would check in to it. When I did hear back she said the color is the color and they have had no complaints which I find hard to believe, it looks completely different in person. She told me the hinges are probably off and she would send me replacements in which I said "I am an older woman with no experiece replacing hinges" in which she responded "watch a video on youtube". They denied my return and would not fix it after I paid almost $3,000.00 for this credenza. I was upset so I reached out to Bernhardt directly and wrote to customer service TWICE. I never got a response. I will NEVER buy anything Bernhardt again or from France and Son! Poor quality and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Desired outcome: Return or atleast fix it but it is so ugly in person I don't even want it.

Recliner
This leather recliner is only 4 years old. It is peeling! This should not be happening to a recliner of this quality. Now my chair looks awful .
I feel Bernhardt should gives us full credit for this chair. It seems that Bernhardt is having a lot of trouble with their leather. I wouldn’t except this from a quality furniture maker.

Bernhardt McGuire love seat leather
This love seat was purchased on 2/22/20 at Baer's furniture in Melbourne for 2076.73. I previously purchased a sofa, love seat and chair on August 22, 2019 at Baer's for $5824.28. All pieces were Bernhardt McGwire Leather Power recliners in the Driftwood leather. All pieces were perfect in size and comfort, therefore making me decide to purchase the second love seat for my office. Then the love seat started peeling and losing color. Baer said the furniture was out of warranty - one year and I should have purchased their extended warranty. They said I should take it up with Bernhardt but instead gave me a phone number for Fast furniture repairs. I asked them who I should call at Bernhardt and they told me to google it. When I did I found this web site and discovered I was not the only person having problems. Their website also shows that they don't make this loveseat anymore nor do they show that they use this same leather. I assume both products were discontinued due to problems.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate contact from Bernhardt for a suggestion as to what I should do and why they don't back their product. Baer told me I should expect wear and tear from leather, but this is not wear and tear.

We can send you a touch up marker to see if that will help. I would need the item number of the furniture.
Sent all the required information and today almost 13 months later and probably 6 to 8 additional emails to them still no response or touch up marker.
No response for over a year is unacceptable!

Bernhardt Tegan Cocktail Table and Linea Dresser
I received two damaged dressers and two damaged cocktail tables. One coffee table was cracked from screw to screw across the bottom and chipped metal coating (delivery March 17, 2022. No way to tell if this was manufacturer flaws or shipping. The second was manufacturer flaws because they pre-drilled the legs right through the table. I sent both tables back to the furniture store (Knox Furniture, Neenah, WI) and they are mailing me a refund because they said they do not think they will get a product that is quality from this manufacturer. The dresser is another story. Chipped and dented from the manufacturer. You can tell because it is behind the drawer and was packaged so well. Second attempt to replace months later and the dresser is completely stained with glue or something on the metal. Metal bar across bottom is bent on both dressers and inside the drawer has a broken glide support that they glued back together. It’s ridiculous! The company I bought this from Unlimited Furniture wants one dresser back and I told them to take both and give me my money back or leave both and I wound paint and try to fix the dressers. I just don’t want delivery people in my house and I am tired of dealing with all of this. I ordered the dresser February 9, 2021.I did not take photos of the latest coffee table (delivery Friday July 22, 2022). but I have a lot of photos of the dresser and first delivered table attaching those.

Inferior product after paying high price
I purchased Bernhardt furniture from Baer’s and have been trying for 3 years to have the defects repaired. Finally, I am filing a complaint. For example, I have made 4 trips to Baer’s in 2022 to no avail. The original sales person did nothing. I have spoken to the Manager 3 times and he keeps telling me he will look into it AGAIN. They sent their repair person to look at it over a year ago, but nothing has been done.
We spent over $9,000 (sale price) on the table, chairs, buffet and display cabinet. The wood has peeled away on the table top and the buffet top and looks terrible. The invoice states a protection plan # and I was of the understanding there was a 3-year warranty. It is no good to anyone if they don’t honor the same. The first photo was a year ago…the other is recent. I take excellent care of my home and contents and have never in 74 years filed a complaint until now.
Desired outcome: I would the the tops repaired, replaced or my money back.
I see other complaints with the same furniture made by Bernhardt.
Couch/chair
Purchased a couch a chair plus two ottomans SEPTEMBER 2021. Their furniture is trash, fabric is in horrid shape, I have the throw pillows beneath the seats as there is no support left! This sofa and chair is not even a year old! For the amount we paid it was a complete rip off! I mean it looks great with throw pillows underneath! Definitely wish I would have boughten Costco furniture over this garbage! Bought from Sids Furniture Store in Salem, Oregon!

Peeling leather
My upscale leather sofa and chair and a half are peeling. I would like a remedy . Is there a product i can use to resolve this. It is obvious that the dye did not adhere to the leather.
This is our forth Bernhardt and we have never had issues wirh their furniture.

Hi, i'm so disappointed. I paid over 7, 000 for the items last march. Less than a year ago. The chairs are definitely already breaking down and you can feel the springs in the sofa. I wish I spent 2, 000 at bob's. Plus nobody will help resolve these issues. Im sick over this. Actually i'm so disappointed. And where do I go from here? hospitality furniture
Worst customer service I have experienced. We used them to do a very nice upgrade to our hotel. We spent a lot of money for what they called "high quality" hospitality furniture. It is TERRIBLE quality. It was scratched and nicked when it arrived and after 6 months of being in our rooms, I'm embarrassed about how it looks. The worst part of it all is their total lack of willingness to take responsibility for the junk they sent us. I am so frustrated and would NEVER recommend this company in any way shape or form to anyone, especially in the hospitality industry. Their "solution" was to mail me a couple of markers. What a joke.
bernhardt custom sofa/ class action suit
I have bought Bernhardt in the past and was pleased with their products. I still have the sofa I purchased for my Den over 10 years ago. I've had no complaints it's very comfortable, looks great And exactly what I would expect from a "Quality furniture manufacturer"
Apparently should have looked at these reviews prior to my recent purchase of a new Custom Bernhardt Sofa. Upon delivery I was pleased, it's very pretty. But the cushions are extremely hard and don't stay in place. They require readjusting after each use. They're also causing back problems and there's just no way to get comfortable on them.
The constant readjusting would not be a big deal if it were that easy. The cushions are simply over cut and require cramming and shifting for several minutes while I repeatedly stand up and plop down on each cushion to cram it into place. Also not helping my back any. Then I have to pull and tug on the fabric and try and get the seams at least reasonably lined up. I hoped that possibly it would break in after a few months but that hasn't been the case. I contacted Bernhardt and they told me to contact Havertys furniture showroom where I purchased it from and they will send a representative. A representative Did in fact come just this morning. He BARELY glanced at the sofa and went directly AND gruffly into telling me that he represents Bernhardt and they will not be addressing the problem. He said that Everyone complained for years about the cushions being too hard so Bernhardt started making Softer cushions that just simply can't hold their shape. When I pointed out that wasn't my problem that the cushions are like sitting on a park bench he replied that Bernhardt is forced to use low quality materials because of the price of oil. So I asked him to sit on it so he could see for himself . He sat down and told me it was fine. Well for man that's 275 pounds it may be but for an average 50 year-old woman and any other normal healthy person it's not. Then I asked him to please take the cushions off and put it back together so he could see how difficult that task is. Again a 275 pound man with huge hands took it apart then slammed the cushions down causing the sofa to move across the floor!?!? He got them in place more easily than I could given his size and strength but they still look uneven and the seams are not aligned. He told me that's the best you're going to get and Bernhardt will not do anything about it. " it's the nature of the fabric " maybe Havertys will do something to help and turned around and walked out. Now, you're going to tell me there's nothing wrong with it and then tell me maybe Havertys can fix the problem after telling me there is no problem? His manner was rude and almost threatening. Havertys called me a few minutes later and we've discussed it. The gentleman I spoke with reiterated that Bernhardt does not make quality products like they used to. He told me that they will start the process of seeing if they can get parts to remedy the problem. Well if I thought it was possible for them to get the right size cushions/Inserts and replace them that would be great. But I don't see anyway that's going to happen since the fabric has been cut to the size of the overstuffed cushions. If Havertys representative backed up the story that Bernhardt will not stand behind their products and no longer makes quality furniture and there's nothing they can do about that then why are they still selling it?
I'm going to give this a shot and see how it goes. But I'm not going to except the price of oil and nature of the fabric and Bernhardt won't stand behind their product that used to be good quality but now no longer is.
I will follow up if I'm not satisfied and at that point give contact info to start the process to see

To reading all the reviews I am quite upset. I waited forever to be able to buy a leather sofa. I purchased it at Nebraska Furniture Mart last October 2017 and about the three sectional couch and the leather chair and ottoman. Within two weeks they had to come and replace all three cushions on the couch since they were discoloring horribly. 10 months later one of the cushions just change color from a deep chocolate brown to a light tan in one outer corner which was an area that no part of the body touched. It is a completely different light mustard looking color. The $300 Guardsman protection I bought was a waste of money if they said they don't cover such things. Dear God why is it that Bernhardt won't just replace my cushion. We have not done anything to discussion and it is not hit by any sunlight. There is also two stains that were caused by us when a friend spilled some polish remover. That was our fault and I accept responsibility. I think Guardsman will cover that stain so I will try that yet why is the leather fading like this and only on one out of three pieces. It is extremely noticeable and quite upsetting.
This is happening to our $2,000 Bernhardt couch - BEWARE! never in my life have I had a couch do this! Buyer Beware. I have been trying to get help from Furniture store, nothing. Now I am again trying to get help from Bernhardt - awful. I have pictures also, I will update here too! Don't think it will not happen to you - that is what I thought too.
leather sectional sofa
In 2006 we purchased a very expensive two piece leather curved sectional sofa with large matching ottoman. This furniture has been cleaned and conditioned regularly over the years. It has been used very little since it is not in our family room where the large screen TV is. Our Macy's saleswoman guaranteed us that this was real leather. It has suddenly begun cracking and peeling all over. I do plan on taking a cushion back to Macy's to see what they will do because we did purchase their extended leather arrant but didn't use within the 7 year warranty period. I have just read multiple complaints online about Bernhardt leather furniture. It pretty much looks like neither Macy's or Bernhardt will do anything about this. I have two Flexsteel Leather recliners that are used daily and are probably 20 years old that are still in excellent condition. Looks like I will be replacing this Bernhardt sofa with a new FLEXSTEEL sofa. I will never buy anything Bernhardt again.
Queen size upholstered bed
After waiting an inordinately long time for the delivery, the bed arrived with the footboard and side boards out of line. They do not sit flush, there is a discrepancy in height of a quarter inch, and a gap one one side that the professional installers could not remedy. Premium pricing for what can only be described as factory second goods. Buyers beware!
Bernhardt leather recliner sofas
Purchased two Bernhardt sofas in 2011 from Stacy's furniture in Grapevine. Both sofas have recliners on each end. One end broke on each sofa after only 1 year. The first repair was free. The next one I had to pay for. The repair man said most sofas are built cheaply now with either plastic or staples not screws and bolts. Both times he had to use bolts to reattach the points where the staples pulled out. Now, the middle seat section of one of the sofas fell in when a normal sized adult sat in it. We turned it over to find that the staples had pulled out again and the wood split. I write this to tell you NOT to buy Bernhardt sofas and now I am afraid to buy any sofa because I am sure everyone is farming out to China where things are built cheaply and there is no accountability.
