Phone charges
I am getting charged for directory assistance on my home phone from Frontier.
2 charges on Sept. 25 at 6:53 am and 7:48 am. We did not make thesed charges. We use are cell phones and only have the home phone because of a deal that Frontier was doing for internet and internet phone. This company to me does not seem like it is doing proper business. I was told that I would receive a reimbursement in 2 to 3 billing cycles. Why so long. I feel I was just told that so I would get off the phone. The charges were for $4.98, which is a lot these days. I would not use directory assistance to look up a number. I would use my cell phone to look up a number. The company name is ZPDI it would not let me put the capital letters for the company name in your form.
Desired outcome: I would like my money and would also like someone to look into their practices. Looks like there have been several complaints already.
My account billing increases every month. [protected]
I just want to brought this to your attention, since the 22nd last month July, may account is billed at R600 .00 and for this month is about R 700.00 and this not the product I have with you. I have always pay my account never set debit order or reverse any debit order . Can you please investigate this matter really this is frustrating after so many years with DSTV, and I can understand why I am billed so high .

Collect Call Charges
My daughter was incarcerated in Ohio and called me collect. I was asked if I would accept the charges and of course it was my daughter so I said yes. I received 3 more calls from my daughter and in total was charged $311 for 4 calls totally 25 minutes. I was never told how much or was even asked if I wanted to know how much they charge per minute. When I called and complained to ZPDI, I was told I would get a credit of $186 on my phone bill. This credit was never given to me. I have tried several times to get the company to give the credit and they keep telling me it is my provider who is not releasing the credit. My provider says they never received it. I am unemployed and in school and cannot afford to pay this. This company is taking advantage of people and it needs to stop. I am calling the attorney general today maybe they can get this fixed.

My son lives in in San Jose Calif. and has no home phone. I'm in Summerville S.C and had five collect call and with no statement for June attact with my at&t statement. My July bill is $391.79 which is out of line. I phoned zpdi to send a copy for the June charges and was told to contact At&t billing department. At&t informed me they had nothing to do with zpid reporting of statements . Payment is due ! This zpdi should be shut down, due to the rip off that is happing to so many people, per the complaints.
unauthorized charges
zpdi placed unauthorized charges on my phone bill regarding a collect call from an unknown caller. was getting repeated calls from an unkown person calling himself 'milosh'. ignored calls for several weeks, but finally pressed the number to 'obtain rate information'. rate was too high to accept call to find out why he kept calling our home so I hung up. $11.24 charge showed up on my bill anyway.

I and my room-mate have been battleing this same issue with ZPDI and our actual service provider, Centurylink for almost 4 months. Our Bill is now at $500.oo and our service is disconnected except for, get this, "INCOMING CALLS". which is no surprise as we began writing down all these weird calls that we began getting weeks ago where someone calls in and when we answer and say "hello" like 3 or 4 times... they then hang up. Funny thing is that we began to notice the pattern that these calls come in at 8.am to 9 a.m and again at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.. So, we have been writing a log of all these and keep the list next to phone with pen and will be submitting this to our provider and the attorney Generals office as well. I had called Centurylink on 3 differing occasions to ask that Zpdi be blocked from our service and i also requested that any and all collect calls be blocked from our phone service, . And if you read our bill, you will find that we r being charged even for collect call blocking at $5.00 per month, plus the tax there=of. Come on people, what does it take in this country to get some decent service for any of our services? How can my provider tell me that we have to call ZPDI in order to get the charges removed from our bill when the Centurylink company is in essence, allowing this abuse by being the party whom is billing us for these fraudulant charges, forr a ### ### fraudulant company whom it takes you practically an act of congress to get through to any real customer service representative... and once you actually get one onto the phone line 20 mins to a half hour later. they proceed to be sarcastic, snyde and plain rude, while denying that their company has any responsibility in correcting the errors. i have spoken with ZPDI reps on 2 occassions and they said thwey would remove calls from my bill and would futurely block any further use from their services- yet, here came the next monmths billing statement and it had more expensivew charges billed to us this time then ANY other bill. If anyone else out here has a solution or suggestions, please feel free to contact us at [protected]@msn.com

Collect call charge
My mother called me from the airport in San Francisco letting me know when she would arrive in St. Paul, MN. She asked the operator how much a collect call would be. The operator didn't know (like hell!). We spoke for about a minute. I accepted the call believing it would cost $2 - $5. When I got my Qwest bill, ZPDI charged me $29 and change for a 4 minute call. The call, itself, was about $18, the rest were fees and taxes. I called Qwest and demanded they remove the fraudulent charge. They told me to call ZPDI. I did. The rep stated the charges would not be removed because I accepted the call. I told them they would not receive a dime and they were crooks. I called Qwest back. The nice rep called ZPDI letting them know I am disputing the charges. The charge was removed from my Qwest bill. If ZPDI sends me a bill, I will immediately forward it to the BBB and MN AG's office. ZPDI screwed with the wrong person!

I was billed for collect calls, not only at a time and date that they could not be made, but also for a length of time on the call that was not available at the facility I was staying. They refuse to change the charges without written documentation from the facility that the phones were not available to clients at the time they were billed and without documentation that the facility did nNOT allow calls over 20 mins.

I was billed for inmate telephone inc. on March 30th, $1.31
I was billed for carriercostrecoverfee on March 30th, $ 2.50
for a total of $ 3.81.
I did not authorize anyone to bill me for this, neither did I accept any phone calls from any prison, in March or any other time .
Please remove this from my telephone bill. FRONTIER - [protected]

Charges Added to my home phone bill VERIZON
These people charged me Balogna charges to my home phone bill. It went on over the course of 4-5 months! I kept calling Verizon and asking if my phone bill was correct, the amount, and they kept telling me yes! Finally I looked closer at my phone bill and saw this ZPDI with a $50.50 charge then all kinds of other taxes fees and other charges totalling 51.92. then the next month it was ESBI with a 14.95 charge, then an ZPDIwith a 2.50 Charge, then the next month it was a 14.95 charge. Finally I was furious, realizing that this cannot be correct. I then googled the Teleconnect ESBI ZPDI, names and it brought up a TON of people that this had been happening too. I called Verizon, AGAIN, as I had already called at least 3 times, only this time i was really upset, since they kept telling me that everything was correct with my bill. After I told them that somebody needed to correct this outragious charges, they told me it was all legal and I had to call these companys myself to have the charges removed and call the FCC and file a complaint! I have done so, I did recieve an immediate credit from the ZPDI company, but am waiting on the ESBI, but I think they are the same BULL_HIT company, what a bunch of dishonest horrible people, swindling people out of money! I don't know how they were able to do this, they told me that I had authorized all of the charges, some were for long distance collect calls other charges were for a fax service! I do not even own a FAX machine or Fax line or anything. They also told me that I had signed up for there service, they gave me a date and time and everything! Anyway people watch your phone bills! Because Verizon, the one that supposedly has a team working for you, they don't! If you have watched there commercial, it is a bunch of bologna, when you call there 800 number it takes about 15-20 minutes to actually talk with someone, some network!

Overcharged
I accepted two collect calls from my homeless brother who lives in Florida. Two separate calls for 19 minutes total. ZPDI charged me $90.53. Outrageous! There is nothing I can do except expose the name of the President and contact information for this snake.

I too was charged $32.17 for accepting a collect call from my son who was on his way to our place in Florida and called from the motel to say he was safe during a bad snow storm. The call was less than one minute!
unauthorized charges
I was charged an outrageous $23.60 for a 26 minute call. The operator did not identify herself as a ZPDI rep and I did not authorize any charges. If I'd known I was going to be charged, I wouldn't have continued the call.
When I called the company, they were totally unconcerned and inexplicably unable to "do anything", but kept repeating the same lines...I think I was talking to real people?
I think that those of us who have been SCAMMED by ZPDI should find an equally sleezy and greedy lawyer to file a class action suit ! That is the best way to stop them from doing this type of activity. It is just another form of THEFT .
Bogus collect calls
ZPDI has repeatedly billed fraudulent collect call charges. We have a mentally ill daughter, mostly homeless, who attempts to call us collect on occasion. We have always (with only one exception) refused the calls. In March she attempted such a call, I answered the phone and as soon as I heard the recorded message, hung up. I did not push any buttons to accept the call. We still were billed around $25 for the call. I complained to Qwest who provided the pass through billing and paid their bill without the collect charges. I also contacted ZPDI, told them I had refused the call and accused them of deliberate fraud. They denied the fraud, but did, grudgingly, reverse the charges. In May, I got another bill from them, this time basically for the privilege of having been billed by them before. I again contacted Qwest as they are allowing this shyster organization to use them to forward these bogus charges. At first they refused to even listen, insisting I needed to deal with ZPDI. I insisted they share the blame and they conference ZPDI in. ZPDI insisted I had to have accepted the original call, which I had not and told them so. They again credited the charges. Just recently, I got another Qwest bill, this time with 2 collect calls on it. The first was actually legit as I had seen my daughter earlier in the day and knew there were some issues, so accepted it, knowing I would have to pay their exorbitant prices. The second charge, is as is usual, totally fraudulent.
I think this organization is about as sleazy as they come. They should be denied the right to pass charges through Qwest or anyone else. If this is their normal operating procedure for others also, they ought to be denied the right to operate. All such collect services ought to have to state upfront how much the call is going to cost before you decide to accept the charges. They now have unlimited license to charge anything they want.

A 3 minute collect call from a payphone has been billed at over $30 to our landline, in which the servicer had not changed in almost 30 Years. Yes, 30 YEARS with the same number. When making the collect call from a payphone, we were instructed to dial another number in order to connect to the landline we were trying to call. At no point during, prior to nor post conversation were we informed of the $10+ per minute fees. This is highway robbery at its best and I'm shocked that these companies aren't regulated. In an age where EVERYTHING is regulated, watched, recorded, documented by big brother, you'd think these crooks would be held accountable. That is unless our very own government is right beside them lining their designer suit pockets
[protected] I received my phone bill with a charge of $43.04 for a collect call for 8 minutes. There was no mention of the charges to accept this call. I called Frontier (my provider) and said they had no connection with ZPDI they just did their billing for them. So I called ZPDI. This was very frustrating to say the least. They told me I had been informed of the charges and the person who made the call would have been informed also. This is a lie. I asked for a credit and they said all they could offer me was a 35% off the bill. It would take several billing cycles before it would appear. Another lie. I called Frontier back when I got my next phone bill. No credit and now they were charging me a $5, 00 late fee for not paying the collect call charges. Frontier explained they did the collections for ZPDI even though earlier they told me they were not connected with ZPDI in any way. It is just a run around no matter who you talk to. I have filed a complaint with the FCC to put this company out of business.
I looked at my ATT bill and saw that it was too high. I always review my bill every month. There were some legit charges on long distance calls made by others in the house. But I didn't understand where all the other charges were coming from. Then behold! I scrolled down to see this ZPDI had charged $9.74 and when I did the math, I realized my bill would have been more normal looking without that. This happened to me a couple years ago and the charges were taken off. I had ATT block third party companies. Since then I had changed up my services a bit and now the vampires or pirates I should say, are back. ZPDI needs to be prosecuted and shut down. How do they even sneak it in. They will claim someone signed up when they didn't. Always review your bill before paying for something that you did not utilize.
I looked at my bill and it was too high. I know about how much Iam charged each month. There were a few legitimate charges for extra long distance made by others in thr house but I wondered where the other 9 or qo dollars was being charged from and behold! ZPDI appeared there on my last page. This happened to me a couple years ago by another third party. ATT blocked third party companies but a few months ago I changed of my services a bit and now the fraudulant vampires or pirates rather are back, ready to take money from some unsupecting, individual they can get. But not me. i review my bill every month and never pay for what I do not understand. ZPDI should be prosecuted and shut down.
They are still doing this and I can't believe the FCC allows this type of behavior when obviously people have voiced complaints. Also many of the services goes through Wimactel which has a clean complaint record on the Internet because people have failed to report them. My company CenturyLink refused to adjust the bill which I found to be siding with big business over there customer. I'm seriously disappointed with all involved because there is no explanation for charging $40+ for phone calls other than people are robbing people in need.
*Wimactel, ZPDi, Centurylink, FCC
I am currently having problems with ZPDI. It appears they are attempting to double bill me for one collect call accepted from my niece while in a local jail. The amount of 17.04 appeared on my June bill immediately and again on my July bill. I will be contacting AT&T on Monday for an adjustment and to restore the block on collect calls. I may be contacting PUC about this company and Connection Backup Service, LLC an E-fax Service Company. I think both of these companies are in cohoot. Both have been charging my telephone service repeatedly. Watch your phone bill for the latter company and go online and read about their scam.
Outrageous 3rd party ollect call charges on phone bill.
We just received our phone bill and it was over $50 more than our usual charges. When I investigated, I discovered it was two collect calls made by a friend from a local hospital. There was no upfront telling what the charge was going to be, just a simple - "will you accept a collect call from (friend's name) from the hospital. Of course we accepted it, although my husband only remembers one of those calls and two are on the bill.
I called AT&T and was told it was a 3rd party biller, which I have since discovered was Zero Plus Dialing, Inc., and that I would need to contact them. They finally agreed to deduct a total of $7.44 for each call since we were not told of the charges. I think the entire amount should be refunded ($56.32)
What a terrible scam and AT&T should be ashamed of theri part in allowing this 3rd party billing. AT&T is a phone company - why do they not handle collect calls themselves? Something really smells fishy here.
This is ridiculous for them to even be in business. Just noticed my new ATT bill and it went from $50/mo to $190 this month. Just got off the phone with ATT and they told me I would have to contact this company direct...Okay how fun. However, before ending the call the rep did charge this company back for these charges. I am so hot right now about this company, I could spit nails. So I call ZPDI...and the poor rep sounded so stressed out already that I tried my best to be as sincere and professional as possible...until she said the charges will not be taken care of...OKay how dare them...Well I will be sending in a complaint and someone really needs to do something about this.
I received a charge on my att phone bill for this company for a phone number attached to a fax machine $30.00 dollars for 3 min during a time of day i was at work. When i call the company to investigate they refused the call and hung up on me. So off to old dependable ATT to investigate and hopefully i won't get the run around.
They're trying to scam me for calls not accepted
Zpdi is a scam and they are trying to scam me for 341.00 in collect calls they say I had to have accepted. I did not take these calls and will not pay. I called zpdi/america roaming network to resolve this matter and was treated rudely, called a liar and told to pay the charges. I have tried to call back and my calls either go unanswered or I am hung up on as soon as they realize who they are speaking with. I refuse to take this, I have had enough of ### trying to steal hardworking people’s money! We have to stop them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Made a couple of collect calls from England.
For 2 calls I paid $43.92 and $71.51 even though they were both less than 5 mins long.
I'm pretty sure those rates were not mentioned when I made the call. How do you fight these guys?
I have been billed $4.05 by ZPDI for making a phone call to myself. In other words, the call was made from my number to my number. How you you deal with these criminals?
$341.00 is nothing. we just got billed for $2437.00. they can freeze in you know where before it is paid.
Charged over $200 for collect calls
This company charged me over $200.00 on collect calls. Several times my children under the age of 18 accepted the calls. There was no rhyme or reason as to their per minute charges, and this company as well as any other company not regulated by the FCC needs to be addressed. Has anyone successfully gone up against this company and won? I am filing complaints with the Attorney General's office, my local government reps, and the local television stations. Somehow, companies like this need to stop price gauging and learn that we are consumers, and when someone is in trouble (hence the collect calls), there usually isn't a choice but to answer and accept. You're not thinking. You're very emotional. AND, allowing children to accept is totally irresponsible.

I was charged 163.07 for November and December, and 34.65 for October. I wasn't able to access my bill online until now and the information I needed wasn't on my papaer bill. When I finally was able to see what the "other charges" were, I was very upset, because I never accepted the collect calls. I would received a call, then heard part of the recording and hung up. I never pressed 1, as they claimed "must have happened." That was just a signal for me to call back. I had no idea ZPDI [protected]) was charging me 9.95 everytime that occurred. They were very unkind on the phone, but ask me to send a dispute letter along with the bill, and gave me a fax number. [protected]) I contacted verizon to request a copy of ZPDI's bills and will type a letter of dispute and fax it. Until then, Verizon placed that portion of my bill on hold.
