Goof Proof is a scam. Haven't beat it yet but working on it.
Try 1 - Called to get spots removed from sofa. Because there was more than one it is not covered!
Try 2 - Called to report a rip in fabric just under seated area (Seams are NOT covered). The rip in the fabric was too large (greater than 6") which they called excessive and do not cover, Also, the rip was from general wear and tear so that is also not covered.
Try 3 - Reported a small accedental tear in one of the armrest (2-3"). I have been doing research now so know that when they asked how it happened you have to be very careful but have to answer. I am pretty sure you have to be sitting on the coach as well.
So not I finally got pasted the caller and have to email them pics of the damage and item that caused the damage. I will surely be denied after that but will let you know!
Thanks BOB!

I just called Bob's goof proof protection plan to report a small hole in the chase of my sectional, that is not even a year old & when asked how it happened, I replied that I wasn't 100% sure & she asked if I wanted to put a 24hr hold on my claim to find out what happened, I said no jokingly, I have four kids & no one fessed up, then in the same breathe said why, it doesn't matter anyway, I have the goof proof protection... right? Then she was quite for a minute and said SORRY, the hole is not covered due to not knowing how it happened. I said that is bogus I will find out what happened and get back to you, she said in a lovely, calm and almost happy with herself voice that it is too late, the claim has already been processed. I am so upset, they swindled me into buying this goof proof, $100 protection plan, then swindled me out using it & there's nothing I can do about it!
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PLAN! I hold Bob's responsible for pushing this plan on their customers. I was on hold for 1 hr, then 30 min., then 45 min. with Guardian, the insurance company that provides this coverage, and never did get to talk to anyone. Bob's should do the right thing and disassociate themselves from this "goof proof" scam. I also had a switch on one of the recliners go bad and was told since it was out of warranty, (we have owned the furniture for two years) it would cost $40 for the switch and if I wanted a technician to install it, that would be an additional $79. So I guess I can expect to keep putting more money in this piece of garbage I would assume is made in China. In the competitive world of furniture retail, I would think Bob's would be more on top of their game. By the way I forked out $250 for this SCAM!
Yep - just learned the hard way that this is a 100% scam. Got a new kitten yesterday, she put some scratches in one of my vinyl dining chairs, and guess what? NOT COVERED! Big surprise. Even though the warranty says human or animal fluids are covered, as are punctures, rips, and tears. However, animal punctures are not! How convenient. SCAM ALERT PEOPLE!
I wish I had read these before I purchased the goof proof warranty on three pieces of furniture. When I submitted a warranty claim for a small puncture in a leather couch, I got the same run around. We homeschool our twin 13 year old daughters. My wife volunteered this information in the claim and Gaurdian rejected the claim becuase we were no longer considered a single family residence but a day care facility according to the Gaurdian claims "adjuster". No debate. No discussion. Just denied. I have learned my lesson in going to Bob's furniture unless they refund my money for a "goof proof" warranty that isn't at all what is represented by the salesman.
I feel the same way about Bob's and the Goof Proof plan protection. I purchase my sofa and love seat about a year ago. Recently my foster puppy chew the bottom corner of the cushion. I called the Good Proof customer service just to be told that the damage is not covered and that it was not an accident because it was preventable. I have called Bob's customer service numerous time only to be told that there is nothing they can do for me. I have been trying close to a month now to order the new cover for the love seat, but apparently the parts department is behind in orders and calling customers back. I have been so disgusted with Bob's and the Goof Proof plan that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And once again Bob's is not claiming any responsibility in this scam. They are disgusting merchants that take advantage of consumers. I think all people wronged by Bob's should file a class action civil law suit for all the BS they put people through.
I purchased the goof proof insurance when i bought my living room furniture. I was told by the salesman that even if i spilled juice on the sofas and it was my fault it would be covered by this goof proof ins. I called today to ask them to come down because my sofa cushions are sinking and the legs on the sofa are very loose. Waited on the phone for over 45 mins. Finally a lady came on the phone. After a series of questions told me i had to call within 30 days of noticing. Mind you its only 2 adults in the house. What a piece of garbage this fradulent company is. This is not going to end here. I am going to Bobs and give them a piece of my mind. Then im going to fight this in court. Very disappointed
Bob's goof proof is a rip off!. And yes they have you on hold for ever. I brought a table that rises up and down with storage seats. When the table stopped rising and started leaning (don't know why) i was told, that is not covered. I brought a recliner that started giving me problems shortly after purchasing it. When i called to have it fixed the work man they send fixed it any way necessary even if that includes damaging the furniture more, because they don't cover damages that is caused by the manufacture. I have recommend every body i know to let people they know to buy bob's furniture at your own risk because the sales people sell you a pile of bull then later you find out that your stuck with a pile of bull
never again, you fooled me once shame on you. And will never get a chance to fool me twice.
Disappointed is an understatement
The frame in the middle seat of our sofa just cracked. When we called for our Goof Proof coverage, we were told that is not accidental damage and isn't covered. I'm pretty sure we didn't break the sofa on purpose, therefore, it is an accident. I've been buying Bob's furniture for years, knowing it's not good quality, but money is an issue. Well, I sure wasted mine on the Goof Proof. If a sofa breaking isn't an accident, I'd like to know what is. It's such garbage.
I agree. The goof proof is crap. I purchased a cofee table among other items. The table was just over a year old and started peeling on the edges, plus the top in several areas started peeling as well. It was not from a spill or anything. It was completely random. I called was on hold 45 min. They had me send pics then sent someone to my house. Turned out since it wasn't an accident & I had no idea how it occurred they said the damage wasn't covered! Plus a piece broke off from the bottom & the table is loose. I'm very disappointed! The table I had for 15 years before that was cheaper & never peeled. I gave it away to charity because I changed my couches. I should've kept it because bobs table is a piece of crap!
I really wish I read all this but just like everyone else I fell for this scam. I am so disappointed. I bought a living room set and dining room set and foolishly the coverage. A little over a year later there are marks all over the table's surface. I am not sure if they're heat marks or what but they don't come off . I called and was told that it wasn't coveted because I don't know how it happened. I spoke to a supervisor and asked her "so, basically nothing is really ever coveted because this is a scam...if I can't prove an accident, then it's not covered?" She said "we cover people all the time but I obviously can't convince you of that". I asked her how in good conscience can she work for a place that scams people out of money. ..she didn't reply. What huge waste of I and time.
Never buy the goof proof just another scam to get the consumer to pay more money. They don't honor it. Actually never buy from Bob's product is junk.
I agree with the above comments. My experience with Goof Proof is very similar. It is a scam. The company behind Goof Proof, Guardian Products, is in a business of collecting premiums and rejecting claims. They are copying a scam shown in a movie "The Rainmaker" where the health insurance company collected premiums but rejected all claims. In the movie the company was forced out of business by a lawsuit, but we would need a class action to put Guardian out of business because individual premiums are to low to justify a law suit. Bob's Furniture must be aware of the scam, but it is receiving a kickback from Guardian and is pushing this scam on it's customers. No more buying from Bob's! What a rip off!
I normally have had good experiences working with Bob's Discount Furniture and have even referred many family members to them. I purchased a power reclining love seat Dec 7 2018 as well as their "Goof Proof" protection plan.
I noticed yesterday that there are small tears in the fabric where the thread is. They're about .25 - .5 inches wide and there are about 4-5 of them. When I called Bob's, I was told I was just outside of my 1 year manufacturer warranty but fortunately I purchased their goof proof plan so I would have to contact Guardian (the company that services this plan). I contacted Guardian and was told that the damage I described sounds like "stress tears" which is a manufacturer issue.
Because I couldn't describe a specific accidental issue, and because it sounds like a manufacturer issue, they will not cover the ripped fabric. Obviously the tears weren't an act of God nor an intentional act. We BARELY sit on this couch and this should not be happening in a year. When I called Bob's back, I was told again that because I was 3 weeks outside of the warranty, they couldn't help me.
There was also no use in paying for a tech to come out because the type of tears wouldn't be able to be repaired based on my description.
The goof-proof warranty is a scam that covers nothing and with the issues I'm describing, Bob's should honor the warranty since this is clearly an issue of quality. I am devastated that no one is able to help me in this case, despite the extra money I spent paying for the protection plan.
Bob's Goof Proof warranty is a total joke. We had tears in the fabric part of a leather reclining sofa and they wouldn’t cover it. They use any excuse to get out of their repairing or replacing the item. Bob's should be ashamed of themselves for selling such a scam of a warranty. I will never purchase at Bob's again. And I will never purchase any Guardian warranty anywhere.
Well the old saying you get what you pay for. Guess even when it is covered they just say no to see if you will pursue legal action. I submitted a claim for a cut that they worded as scratch and was told that I did nor submit in time. I said it was only 16 days after it happened and I have 30 days. I have emails to prove dates and Rocco didn't know what to say other than his supervisor said they wont cover it due to time frame. Sad...
I purchased an ottoman from Bobs Discount with warranty. I did as instructed once the ottoman
Screws popped off when I pulled it open. I let them know that with my accidental coverage I pulled the ottoman top too hard when I was opening and the metal screw attachment popped off. The top half of the ottoman now broken. I was told that if I had an accident it will be covered. My claim
Was denied because they said it was damaged during normal use. I pulled too hard and it broke which falls within the scope of my goof proof warranty. This is a scam and I will never recommend or purchase another item from Bobs Discount.
