Buying my book back quote
I wish I would have read more reviews before I sold them my book do not use this company. . I purchased a brand new book from my school for a class and then when I received it they canceled the class so therefore I had a brand new book that they would not take back so I got online and found out where I could sell it and it turned out that bookruns offered me the highest price to by the book back I then took the brand new book out of the package I received it in from my school and placed it directly into a package to mail to books runs it was brand new I never even opened the pages. . once they receive the book they changed the quote for a price that was way too low beyond the value of it and sent me pictures of supposedly damage to Pages these pictures are not even clear but from what I can see it's damaged that looks to me like it happened either during shipping or probably once it got to their office it looks like something was freshly spilled all over the pages. . I reached out to them and talked to a gentleman a few times and each time he gave me the runaround in some weird explanation come to find out he was not even talking about my order then he apologized for giving me wrong information and kept telling me to call back later with. . bottom line is these people rip you off they give you a quote for you to send in your brand new books and then they send you fake pictures back of something that you can't even make out what it is and for me I can't even tell if that's really my book or not because there's no clear picture and even so the damage that they're showing in the picture was not in my book when I mailed it to them. . . it's a scam they get brand new book sent to them and turn around and sell them to someone else at a higher price. .

I sold 8 books. I sent them out on January 4th. They have been received and processed and I haven't gotten paid for them in over a week in a half. I should have been paid through paypal almost immediately. I have also reached out via phone call and email numerous times and no one has gotten back to me. Extremely disappointed in this company and I would have never sold my textbooks through them If I knew how much of a hassle it was. Would NOT recommend.
Rental Textbook
I rented a textbook from them that arrived with a 2 inch cut in the front cover. There is nowhere on their website that explains how to report receipt of a damaged book. When I returned the book they charged me the full price of the book plus the rental charge. I did not damage the book and now I am being charged a rental fee and a replacement fee for a book they have in their possession. They don’t answer the phone. Only one way communication via email which is to their benefit only.
Desired outcome: I should not have to pay for a book I did not damage.

I bought a brand new book in plastic from a college bookstore. Finished the class so I TRY to sell the book to booksrun. I send it in then receive an email that the book is fraudulent. They will not send money or the book back. I have emailed multiple times and have not received any response. I believe this place is a scam. I want either my book back or the money they claimed they would give me.

100% scam company.
I sold 5 books they said they didn't receive 2 of them. Ironically when I sold them I noticed they didn't have any available to purchase on their website but now they have quantity 1 of each one available for purchase. You can't make this stuff up. So yes they received my two books, lied and said they didn't receive them and are now selling both of them.
I just pray they get a class action lawsuit against them.

I ordered two books from booksrun. I realized my teachers already provided the textbook for us so I contacted booksrun that same day before shipment began and requested for them to cancel both orders to which they told me they did. Few days later I went to check to make sure it was fully cancelled and it showed only ONE of my orders was canceled not BOTH. I tried emailing booksrun, its been 4-5 days they still have not responded. I have tried calling multiple times no one picks up.
Desired outcome: Please I would like my refund back because I had contacted you guys to cancel both orders but only 1 was canceled.

I ordered a book, order number #[protected] on 31 May 22, and received a shipping confirmation shortly afterwards. This was for a fairly expensive textbook approx $76.00, plus $25 shipping fee
A week later I received an email saying that the item had been delivered.
It had not been delivered, but i though perhaps this was an automated email and I would receive it shortly
Three weeks later and it still has not been delivered.

I rented a book on May 14, 2022, and the money was debited from my account the same day. It says it's been shipped but no further information is available. I have tried to call several days and several times but keep getting an automated recording. I have emailed several times but have not gotten a response. At this point, I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK! texbook rental
I rented a book from Booksrun. When the rental was up, I received a reminder and promptly put the book in the mail with the address return label provided. I received no more reminders about book, figured book was returned. Five months later I get charged at first $30, then $80, then $100+ for this book that I don't even have and now I'm trying to figure out where my mail receipt was because, well, five months passed before they decided they didn't have it--a nice amount of time that makes it likely people think the return is okay and don't have receipts. I'm sure that's a coincidence...

Purposely Lowering Resell Value after Receiving Books
I originally used BooksRun to sell two textbooks, valued at 25 dollars together - they took forever to send their check and marked the price down to 8 dollars because of heavy wear and water damage, I disagreed, but it was my best option so I assumed it was a mistake and moved on. Sold another book with them later in the semester that I barely used so that I could resell it - I bought it brand new and only used it for half of the semester because I received it late. Most of the time it was kept in its packaging so I could keep the resell value high. I literally wouldn't even carry it in my backpack to make sure it didn't get creases and I could at least get a good amount of cashback. The value for this from BooksRun was 44 dollars (originally 120) and after two months, they marked it down to 17 dollars because of "heavy wear". The 'heavy wear' in question was two pictures of my book I received: a blank page with no damage, and a half inch waterdrop. They charged me 9 dollars to have it sent back to me if I rejected the new offer.
Desired outcome: I don't want them to take advantage of other students and give them a fair price.

I received a quote for 50 dollars less even though their complaints totaled to less than three dollars. Their live chat feature has had me waiting "5 minutes" for over an hour. I reached out to email and nothing yet, although recently. They do not answer their phone either. It is a fundamental scam that preys upon poor college students who will take every penny they can get. I am sure they dispute every quote and always pay less or force you to pay money and ship it back. Lacks transparency and is exploitative. I will be filing suit if I do not hear back and my attorney who specializes in corporate law is formulating a cease-and-desist. Willing to go to all measures to ensure this company stops with the tomfoolery.

Reducing price of books after receiving
I sold Booksrun eight books that they gave me a quote of $59.73 for them. When they received my books each one was given a lower price. The new price for the eight books was $47.83. I was not told why the price of each book was being reduced. They send you an e-mail asking you if you want to accept their new price. What are you to do if they have your books and you won't get them back. If I knew they were going to reduce my prices I would have sold them to another vendor. I will not be selling anymore books to Booksrun. This is not the first time they have done this to me but it will be the last. I was sent an e-mail on 1/7/2022 saying I would receive my check no later than 2/04/2022. I actually received the check on 1/25/2022. Don't waste your time selling your boos to these people.

I have been trying to contact Booksrun since 1/10/22 and only just received a reply today 1/17/22 after contacting them via Facebook. The tracking information indicates that the book was not delivered to the post office. This was confirmed when I opened an investigation with the post office. I have provided the service request number via email to Booksrun.
At this point, in addition to a refund of the money I paid, I would like an additional $27.86 so I can purchase the same book used through my school's bookstore. I have provided screenshots and a link to verify the price via email to Booksrun. This has been a huge headache and very stressful.

Total scam for book buyback
I sent two books that were in good condition and got an email saying that they both had water damage. That was not possible, one was almost brand new. If there was damage it happened in their possession and not mine. I sent two books of good quality. I feel this is a very dishonest business practice. I sell books regularly and I've never had this issue with any other company. I have no practical option at this point but to accept their offer but never again.

I put in an order for a textbook about two weeks ago. The next day I found out I no longer needed the book so I sent an email to the company asking them if I could cancel the order. I didn't get a response until a week later telling me that the order was already shipped and there was nothing they could do. I let them know way ahead of time I didn't need the book and now I'm stuck with it and don't know what to do. I've been calling everyday for a week now and emailing. I've gotten no other responses. I'm very irritated and I don't plan on using this company again in the future.

I actually experienced the exact same thing. My highest value (and new) book they "adjusted" by 55%. There is no request for rereview or justification. Also if you want your book back they charge you, making it a lose lose situatuon...
I knew going in this was a possibility, but my books were in such good condition (new) I thought there was no way this was possible. I sent in over $1000 (retail) worth of prestine university textbooks (4 books), and am getting $49. The images they attach must be reused from a previous book they received, because there is no way that so many people are having their books damaged in shipping. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!
