There was no soap in the bathroom, which is a health violation
There was no soap in the bathroom, which is a health violation. When my son told the server twice, she said, "I dunno. I don't go in the bathroom." I asked to talk to the manager twice, but he didn't care about my complaint. He wouldn't give me the owner's contact info, and he told me to find the email on the website, but there's no info there.
this was a return trip
this was a return trip. Was here 2 years ago, family of 5 the food was great, visited tonight, and it was the worst seafood I had ever had! I eat a lot of seafood, from Mexico to Maine. This evening was a train derailment, I kept trying different items hoping one thing just ONE would be of any sort quality. Sadly, they failed. This is a result of corporate buying low grade seafood. And people not trained on how to prepare subtle and simple foods such as scallops. And please tell me what market sell snow crabs that are brownish and black? We went to the one on International Dr. In Florida, I suggest you don't ! $57 each plus beverage. I have no issues spending the money, but damn, ONE thing just ONE should be should be suitable for plating ! Email from them, said "sorry"
I was really unhappy with my experience at the Orlando-International Drive spot
I was really unhappy with my experience at the Orlando-International Drive spot. I've been coming here for years and usually have a good time. The food this time was super plain. Nothing was hot, it was just warm. Nothing had flavor and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The plates were actually hotter than the food itself. The dessert bar wasn't good and the salad wasn't fresh, it looked like it had been there all day without being refreshed. THE FOOD ISN'T WORTH THE MONEY YOU PAY. When I talked to one of the managers, all he said was, "Do you want me to bring you more lobster or crab." They didn't offer to give my money back. Instead, they asked me to come back as a VIP. But that won't change the bad food experience, so no thanks! I won't be coming back.
I been to Boston Lobster Feast many times, but this last visit was a waste of time
I been to Boston Lobster Feast many times, but this last visit was a waste of time. I won't go back again. Me and my friend went in, got seated, and went to the buffet to get our food. We were excited to eat, but we were so disappointed. The food smelled bad, tasted bad, and looked bad. The crabs were mushy, the oysters smelled strong, the crab legs were small and burnt, and the lobster tails were overcooked. I complained to the waitress, but she just laughed at me. Then the manager came around and asked if everything was okay. I called him over and told him how unhappy and disgusted I was with the food. He offered me something fresh, but then said they were out of blue crabs and that the crab legs and lobster were prepared on time. I asked for a full refund for both of us since we hadn't even been seated for 10 minutes. He walked away and never came back to the table. We paid our bill and left feeling ripped off. I disputed the charge with my bank and they refunded me, but then Boston Lobster Feast reversed it, saying I knew about a cancellation policy. I don't even know what that is or how it relates to me being taken advantage of. It's just wrong to take advantage of people. Nobody wants to pay for food they're not happy with, especially after only being seated for 15 minutes. I just want a full refund, plain and simple.
This was the worst dining experience I've had with Boston Lobster Feast and I used to be a frequent customer
This was the worst dining experience I've had with Boston Lobster Feast and I used to be a frequent customer. My husband came in from being on the road and wanted to go somewhere to sit down and eat crablegs & lobster. We arrived around 8pm. Once we were told they were under new management, we should've ran. Let's start with me calling to verify if they had blue crabs. The person that answered the phone confidently said "Yes, we do!". I know sometimes they do and sometimes they do not which is why I called first. Only to drive an hour to this place and there were no blue crabs ever there. Not a deal breaker, just disappointed in the misinformation. We have 3 kids, son-13, and 2 daughters 6 & 7. Our son eats alot so we always get him the buffet with crablegs. Our daughters do not eat much. To our surprise, their prices had drastically changed to $25 per child for the buffet! Why would you charge a 5-8 year old $25 knowing young kids do not eat that much? I believe the kids buffet excluding crablegs and lobster used to be about $11-$12. We had come too far and were hungry so even though we were annoyed, we decided to just try to deal with it. Now lets talk about this buffet. They have metal handles to pick up the food and because of the steam, the handles were super hot my son and I could barely hold them. The food looked old, it was very bland (no taste at all), My daughter loves salad but even that didnt look appetizing, and the fruit next to it had small insect (maybe gnat or fruit flies), flying around so I told her not to get it. We didnt even bother with the dessert as it sat so openly and didnt look fresh. The fact that they've raised the price ridiculously but the quality of the food being poor was just insulting. Our check was $228 excluding gratuity. I didnt even bother saying anything to management as I knew it wouldn't get me anywhere but an ask to return or more food. Each time I made a trip, the food just seemed to get worse. I was so disappointed I didnt even have the normal appetite that I usually have. They need new management (again), new cooks, just reset the entire restaurant. The best thing my kids probably had was the ice cream, and they all love seafood. Total waste of a drive. Even my husband had to admit it was not good and that we would not be back. I wanted to ask for refund at least for my kids as they didnt eat hardly any of the selections. My husband and I just did our best to get through it. I knew asking for any type of refund would be a losing battle. They see no fault or they are very defensive about any complaints given. Its really sad.
When I first walked into Boston Lobster Feast, I was told that gloves were required to access the buffet
When I first walked into Boston Lobster Feast, I was told that gloves were required to access the buffet. So, I put on my gloves and headed to the buffet. However, I noticed a young lady who didn't have her gloves on. I informed the manager about it, and he asked her to put them on. She eventually got her gloves and put them on.
A few minutes later, I saw more people sitting and licking their fingers before going up to the buffet without gloves. They were using the utensils to serve themselves. I mentioned this to the server, who then informed the manager. Unfortunately, nothing happened. Frustrated, I went to the hostess desk to express my disappointment. It bothered me that people were allowed to lick their fingers and serve themselves without gloves. There was no one supervising them or instructing them to use gloves with the utensils.
Finally, the manager named Eric came to my table. He asked me how long I had been there and if I had just started eating. He even suggested that I could leave if I wanted to. I explained that I had a complaint about the lack of enforcement regarding gloves, especially considering the high risk of the coronavirus in the area. I emphasized the importance of using gloves when eating seafood, particularly lobsters and crab legs. I witnessed around 40 people not wearing gloves while licking their fingers, and no one, including Eric, said anything about it.
Eric responded by saying that they don't have to make anyone wear gloves as it is not mandatory. When I asked if this violated the DHEC policy, Eric claimed it did not. I informed him that I would investigate this matter further since my sister-in-law works for DHEC.
I stayed for another 30 minutes, observing what was happening around me. Eric asked me who had told me about the gloves, seeming upset that someone had informed me. He specifically asked if it was my server, but I clarified that it was the hostess who seated me. I told Eric that if I had known about the lack of glove requirement beforehand, I would have never entered the building.
Prior to our visit, my daughter had called and asked about the safety measures in place. She was told that someone would bring our lobster tail and crab legs to the table, but that never happened. Everything was left open on the buffet bar. She was also informed about the glove requirement. My concern is that as customers paying $59 per person for the buffet (there were three of us), we should have been given accurate information.
I am extremely upset because I feel misled before entering Boston Lobster Feast. To make matters worse, after returning home, my husband, who is on dialysis, became sick and started vomiting. My daughter also fell ill, experiencing severe stomach discomfort. I had to rush to the store to get her something to induce vomiting and relieve her stomach. As soon as I got home, I had to run straight to the bathroom. We didn't eat anywhere else or visit any other place besides Boston Lobster Feast. I am beyond furious!
I intend to contact DHEC to address this situation. If my claims are true, I apologize, but if not, I will ensure that appropriate action is taken.

My family and I went to Florida for the first time and decided to have dinner at the Boston Lobster Feast restaurant on our second night in town
My family and I went to Florida for the first time and decided to have dinner at the Boston Lobster Feast restaurant on our second night in town. We checked the menu beforehand to ensure that all ten of us would find something we liked. When we arrived, the restaurant didn't look very inviting, but we went in anyway. We were seated and everyone started eating. However, we noticed that many of the items listed on the online menu were not available at the buffet, so some of us couldn't enjoy a second round. The food on the ice bar was not very fresh, and the dessert selection was picked over. Additionally, the hot food was not served hot.
I spoke with Jeremy, hoping that he would consider compensating us for the inconvenience, but to my surprise, he responded sarcastically and dismissed the idea. It was disappointing, especially considering that our waiter was excellent and never left a dirty plate behind. Furthermore, we encountered difficulties in getting the military discount for some of our family members who are active military personnel.
In conclusion, I will never return to this restaurant, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to eat.
A meal that was a letdown and cost a lot
A meal that was a letdown and cost a lot. We drove two hours from Tampa to try Boston Lobster Feast and it was a mistake. Won't go again. We went to the Kissimmee, Florida location with my mom and sister. We heard about BLF from different ads and always wanted to go for the unlimited seafood. When we got to the restaurant, it looked clean and the staff was wearing PPE. The service was alright, they took our drink orders and told us about the prices, where the food was, and the desserts. We went to the buffet line and saw a dessert display that was outside. The desserts looked really dry and old. After that, we saw a raw bar and a hot bar. We were rushed through the line, so we made quick choices. The muscles (with red and white sauce) were dry and overcooked, and the oysters were dry and had no flavor. The crab legs had yellow meat and the lobsters were obviously farmed and still had their own waste inside. The dinner rolls had been left out for so long that they were as hard as a rock. This restaurant might need the health department to check out the seafood they serve on the buffet line.
