Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy review: Complaint regarding sanitary concerns and unprofessional behavior

I am writing to express my concerns about the sanitary practices and unprofessional behavior I recently encountered at Brookshire’s Deli at 5828 Line Avenue, Shreveport, LA. I have brought my concerns to several management personnel so far. As of today, December 16th, the individual below is still working in the deli department.

During my visit, I observed several troubling issues involving one of your male deli workers that I believe need to be addressed immediately. These concerns include:

Poor Sanitation Practices: The employee in question had long hair and a long beard that were not properly contained by hair coverings, which is a serious concern when handling food. This lack of proper hygiene practices can easily lead to contamination, particularly in a food service setting.

Overfilled Containers: The worker overfilled the containers when preparing my order, resulting in food spilling over the sides. While I understand that some spillage can occur, it was apparent that the containers were deliberately overstuffed, which is both wasteful and unsanitary.

Failure to Clean Containers: I noticed that the worker did not wipe excess food off the sides of the containers unless I specifically asked. This failure to clean the containers before sealing them is unacceptable, as it may cause contamination or cause customers to receive food in an unsightly manner.

Improper Sealing of Containers: The worker did not properly seal the tops of my containers, leaving them poorly secured. This could result in spillage and spoilage, which is an additional health and safety concern.

Unprofessional Attire: Finally, the worker’s clothing was inappropriate for a food-handling environment. He was wearing pants that were sagging far below his waist, a fashion choice that I find unprofessional for someone handling food in a customer-facing role.

I have been a loyal customer of Brookshire's for many years, and I have always appreciated the quality of your products and services. However, I believe this employee's actions were not in line with the high standards of cleanliness and professionalism I expect from your store.

I trust you will address these issues to ensure that Brookshire's Deli continues to provide safe, hygienic, and professional service to all customers. I look forward to your response and hope that appropriate measures will be taken to prevent this from happening again.

Myself, my family, my friends, and my neighbors are boycotting Brookshires because this matter has not been addressed and rectified.
