trains sitting idle
On weekend usually trains sit idling usually on sunday nights, usually directly accrost from our house, there is times they stop and idle outside of our village of waco nebraska, that is ok, but when they stop and idle across from our house, its loud rumbling, makes for a very long night, since they are usually there for at least 8 hours, we start work early in in the mornings. Lack of sleep, PLEASE STOP OUTIDE OF WACO NEBRASKA TO IDLE, Thank You
career
I received BNSF's email regarding interest in possible career/position, and subsequent unwillingness to pursue further. From BNSF's perspective, that is, and not mine as I would still be most interested in continuing with career pursuit. I understand too that this email comes after I missed the "job fair" in Alliance on Thursday November 29th. I fully understand that this is the reason you have provided me with the email saying you are no longer interested. In fact, I was crafting a reason for my absence when I received this email from your office. The email would have "sat" better with me if the reason was more direct rather than there was some "tongue-in-cheek" suggestion that I was passed over because my work history and/or work ethic is somehow questionable. I take offense at that and with this opportunity I intend to provide you a reason for my absence. . .If I may. . .
. . . First off I never miss work. Never! I never use leave time and I never call in sick. In the last several years I have requested one day off and it was for your Alliance job fair. My employer was willing to let me go albeit we are short staffed. However I refused to take the day using Annual Leave time and rather asked for day as a LWOP day off. I actually was en route to Alliance when, in guilt over leaving my employer having to risk not having maintenance staff on duty that particular day, turned around at Chadron, Nebraska and did report to my job. I did not miss your job fair because I lack a work ethic rather because I have a damn work ethic. How dare you people put such a high emphasis on work ethic and attendance then expect me to basically "screw" my current employer over. Subsequently causing me to then be discarded into the trash heap of useless applicants. How dare you! Shame on you! That should tell me a lot about your company. What if I worked for you and requested a day off when I was needed to attend a job fair for another company? How would that sit with BNSF? I had to miss a previous career seminar for an emergency, no regrets there, and I missed this last one for the right reasons, with no regrets either. I wanted to attend more than anything because I would treasure a career with BNSF however I am not willing to sacrifice my work ethic nor my obligation and loyalty to my current employer in the process. I don't think that should cause me to be so callously discarded. Perhaps you should make your recruitment efforts more practical. In short, I missed because I care about my work, what I do and how my attendance will affect my employer's operations. If you have a problem with this you can go to Hell! I would prefer to continue in some way my pursuit of a career in BNSF but if you prefer I only pretend to have a strong work ethic and not actually practice one, well then, I am not interested.
Regards,
Lon Carrier, Applicant With A Powerful Work Ethic

track crossing
Recently I drove through Pacific Junction Iowa and crossed your tracks there, there was a train crew that was working and replaced the crossing in that town, Man was it a nice smooth crossing. week later I saw the crew in our town (Hastings Iowa) about 20 miles away I thought to my self we are getting a nice new crossing too.. man was I wrong! the new crossing is so rough you have to almost come to a stop in a couple places. is there anyway to get a nice new SMOOTH crossing into our town?
excessive horn blowing in ft collins, co
I understand and have read your compliance on horn blowing for your engineers.
Its possible that your engineers need to re-read them.
As they go down the middle of town, especially when they know most people are sleeping, they excessively "lay on the horn" for extended time frames. This occurs during the hours of 12: am - 6am.
It is NOT in the accordance to your standards of " 2 short, 1 longer " horn blow.
It is discourteous to those thru out the town.
Please address your engineers.. Moving forward I will provide engine number and exact times if you'd like. 9/24/18 3: 30am
Thank you,
excessive train lengths
I am in Port of Los Angeles/Wilmington, CA and the trains coming in and out of Terminal Island are excessively long and often stop for many minutes blocking the single road/bridge in and out of Terminal Island. I was stuck at crossing this morning, 9/14/18 for, literally, 25 minutes, from 6:20am to 6:45am...no exaggeration here! This happens daily here and I am furious at the careless attitude of BNSF regarding traffic congestion here caused by BNSF's excessive GREED!
I would like someone to contact me as I will do whatever it takes to get someone's attention including threatening legal action!

excessive train whistle blowing at the train crossing
Trains are constantly using excessive whistle blowing at the gated train crossing I live by. It's extremely disruptive to me and my family, as well as my surrounding neighborhood community. It wakes the entire house up in the middle of the night. The train whistle is repeatedly used throughout the day and night, lasting nearly a minute. Multiple trains pass through this crossing and it gets really frustrating.

new hire process
I would like to file a complaint/dispute on BNSF for complete unprofessionalism. On 12/26/2017 I applied for a position with BNSF Railroad. On 01/05/2018 I received the conditional offer email. On 01/25/2018 I successfully completed the medical exam and was able to move forward with the hiring process. Then on 02/08/2018 I received an email and phone call from Delali Agblevor stating Experian Background Checking was reporting a different birth year on my background report through First Advantage. On 02/09/2018 I started a dispute with Experian Background Checking to correct this discrepancy and the dispute was completed that same day (02/09/2018). I received an updated background check from First Advantage, was told all was well to proceed with my hiring process not only from First Advantage but BNSF as well through numerous phone calls and emails from BNSF new hire, Delali Agblevor herself and First Advantage on 03/12/2018 as well as weeks prior for my own piece of mind. On 03/12/2018 I received my confirmation email from BNSF new hire that I had completed all required background, medical and everything required to start a career with BNSF. Then on 04/19/2018 I received a denial letter from BNSF new hire stating that my birth year had actually never been corrected nor did Experian ever follow up with First Advantage. I also received a phone call from Delali Agblevor stating the confirmation letter was a mistake and she confirmed I was actually denied employment at BNSF.
I cannot express the unprofessionalism of not only First Advantage but also BNSF new hire employees and representatives of BNSF throughout this horrific hiring process. If I had been informed of Experian's lack of follow through at the time of my many phone calls/emails with First Advantage, Delali herself and other BNSF new hire staff, I could have pushed for the discrepancy to be cleared up in a timely manner. Instead I was strung along for months thinking that I was going to start a new career with BNSF. To get someone's hopes up on such unprofessional and irresponsible levels is uncalled for. BNSF and First Advantage have affected my life as well as my family's life tremendously. I believe that BNSF should review not only First Advantage as a third party representation but their own employees as well and new hire process. I am left now to fight First Advantage, BNSF and Experian Background Checking on my own. I am currently filing complaints/disputes with Experian, the BBB on First Advantage, Experian and BNSF, The Attorney General, as well as The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I have lost time and money fighting this that I will never get back. The amount of stress and anxiety endured is extensive. I will take this as far as I have to to help ensure this does not happen to anyone else. I expect a phone call and email on how BNSF is going to rectify this situation as well as correct my good name with the company for any career opportunities I may apply for in the future.
legal complaint resolution
Email to BNSF, 18 March 2018
On the 19th I will be filing suit against BNSR with Colorado Springs Police dept. Against two employees for felony filing of complaint. Due to this fraudulent filing a liability claim will be filed against Burlington et al and the two offenders individually. I will be submitting proof of claim amounting to over $100 billion in itemized liability for BNSF false claims. Your two employees will be sued for financial damages to date of no less than $20, 000.00 and will continue at my rate of wage of $3, 500.00 per hour. This upcoming suit was initiated by your employees with malice. No claim was made by me until fraudulent claims in a Burlington Police report #11157 Colorado Springs was made. Further, your now identified police officer was NOT a Colorado Springs Police Officer as presented. Damages of impersonation of a Colorado Police officer will be brought and investigated and if not completely explained, he personally, and your Police dept will be sued for false statement and impersonation to the fullest extent of the law. A copy of these filings and claims are available to you for resolution. Once filed however in response to YOUR employees, Burlington will be held completely and irrevocably liable for all deformation losses totaling more than $100. Billion dollars involving damages in business ongoing in 3 countries. I will be asking to freeze all BNSF accounts and stock trading to be held by a court appointed administrator. Therefore you may clean up your house or assume the liability you alone have brought. FYI, no BNSF Police station can be found and the police number on your website is for Illinois Police and not BNSF. Please reply with a contract number by noon on 3/18/2018. After which time we file on Burlington for 16 claims and financial relief without further notification.
Emailed by Karl Lippard at 2:34pm. Metra responded saying BNSF number provided is not them...
train schedule
Train schedules in haslet texas are inconsistent. Trains run during high traffic times in the morning when trying to go to work. They create serious delays. Couldn't there be a better and more consistent schedule so that commuters could better plan? Wiuld it be possible to have an overpass to help the traffic problem. There is an increase of housing developments being built and the current county roads are not adequate to accommodate the growing community. Doing something about the train schedules would be a start in helping the traffic issue.
train engines sitting idle in town.
I live in Ottumwa, Iowa 52501
Your trains continuously sit in front of my house (Paris Street, Ottumwa, IA) for a long period of time while running their engines at idle speed. The engines constantly rumble and are extremely noisy. Less than a mile away, outside of town, there is a wooded area with fewer residents. A possible better location to sit and Rumble your engines. I am filing a formal complaint with the city, as well as your company.
We live in Galesburg, Il. We constantly deal with trains idling for 2 and 3 days at a time near the Fremont St. crossing, which is a quiet zone. The local trainmaster told us today they have no plans to move it for lack of a crew . It sounds like poor planning that a train can sit in the middle of town for that long with no plan to leave.
traffic jams
The crossing at Bonds Ranch Rd near Hwy 287 has high auto traffic during rush hour times. One day I was stopped at this crossing for three different trains at 5:30pm. This should not happen at this time, it creates a grid lock on both sides of the track. It is not an isolated occurrence. We have lived here since 2002 and this is the worst it has ever been. It can take as much at 25 minutes to get from 287 to our neighborhood (which is less than one half of a mile. Even with the roundabouts, which are amazing, train crossings back traffic up onto FM 287 as far back as the entrance ramp for Hwy 156 on the north bound side.
I understand that the houses have come after the train tracks, however, there is a necessity to accommodate the citizens of an area if at all possible. I also understand that there is a also a challenge of working with county and state to come to an amicable solution. However, living in Fossil Hill Estates we are surrounded by railroad tracks in all directions. We are used to stopping for trains. Our concern is during these high traffic times, mornings at 7 am and also around 5 to 6 pm in the evening.
I appreciate your consideration of this matter and would like to ask you to investigate the impact that your train schedule has on these commute times. I think you will see that I am not exaggerating the impact on the citizens of our area.
I've lived in the same neighborhood since 2009, and was sitting there the exact same day you had to wait for three trains. This is definitely not a one-off thing, I have to sit at this crossing at LEAST 3-4 times a week and that's a conservative estimate. This morning it took 15 minutes between 7:40 and 7:55 for ONE TRAIN to cross, it was going so slowly. That's also not uncommon. I feel like they could plan to stop the trains at heavy traffic times (morning and evening commute) as people do need to be at work and school on time and while most can plan ahead we can't foresee an unnecessary 15min delay like that. It's already bad enough that thoroughfare is really the only viable entrance/exit for most living in the neighborhoods along bonds ranch. It's also becoming more dangerous with traffic trying to exit 287 piling up and overflowing the exit onto the freeway, I'm surprised there havent been more accidents. I'm also disappointed that nothing has been done to remedy this situation for as long as it's been going on.
severe pothole issue - fort collins co
There is a nasty pothole (about a foot deep) at the rail road crossing in the southbound, left lane at the intersection of College Avenue (hwy 287), just before Cherry Street. I drove over it going 35 mph at about 1:30 pm [protected]) and blew-out both a rear and front tire. I'm know that several other drivers have had the same issue, as the tire shop I went to shortly after has had several customers with the same issue...it's that bad! Usually the crew who works this section does a good job of maintaining things but this pothole has been ignored for a good year or more (several people who know about this pothole have commented on how long this has been here. Some say it's been there anywhere from a few months, others say a couple years). I just moved the to the area after living in a different city for 5+ years, but originally grew up here.
The plate the bridges the road to the track looks to be broken, and actually sinks when a vehicle drives over, making the gap to the pavement even larger.
Is possible to get this fixed soon? Is there any way I can be compensated as well?
railroad crossing
There is a NASTY, ugly railroad crossing on Castleberry Rd here in a Artesia. There are nails sticking out, a loose wood pellet, and potholes between the road itself and the tracks. You either have to drive through the nails or the potholes, either way your vehicle's tires are not safe driving by that crossing. Many people have to pass by here to get to their daily routines and it has become more and more difficult to do so because of how dangerous this crossing has gotten.
horn blowing 3:45 am, two separate trains
Harlem crossing in Berwyn: about 3:30 am and exactly 3:45 am on 12/29/2017. This is a no horn blowing area. I looked at the crossing as this was occurring. No vehicles on or near tracks, thus no cause for horns to be used. This is a heavily populated residential area and clearly a "no-horn" area. To have it happen twice in the space of 15 minutes and 3:30 am is not ok
excessive horn blowing
I recently moved from the DFW area, to Gallup NM. Your conductors go crazy at night blowing their horns. I have counted up to 12 consecutive blows. The crossing is at Highway 66 and Mentmore, 9 miles west of Gallup. We are a bedroom neighborhood. There are no drunks or [censor] trying to commit suicide at this crossing. We actually live about a 1/4 mile from the crossing and the horns blow so loud, I can't hear other people in my house talking!
Neighbors have told me the excessive horn blowing is the method by which conductors let their friends and family who live in my neighborhood know they are driving by. This must be the case, because I have frequently gone up to the crossing and there isn't even a stray dog in sight. No cars, no people walking even close to the crossing to warrant these extensive and excessive loud horn blows.
I understand your conductors must honk 3 times, but 12 times? Why can't your conductors use their phones to call their friends and family and let them know their driving by? Why do they have to have these long and annoying horn marathons when we are trying to sleep!
train stopping and blocking roads
Every day the BNSF rail line blocks the intersection of FM2449 and FM156. This blockage is longer than 15 minutes and, is usually during rush hour traffic attempting to get to work. It's also when two trains are on the track at the same time. Why can't these schedules be modified as to stop happening during morning rush hour ? Why do these trains have to be so long and block the intersections consistently? This is a settlement to our community and it's citizens.
late night noise in a “quiet zone”
I live nearest the intersections of 44th & Cornhusker Hwy, and 33rd & Adams, which are considered to be “Quiet zones.” We’ve never had any issues with train horns late at night, but the last two nights, at all hours, we’ve been woken up 5-6 times (per night) to the sound of train horns blaring at those intersections. I’m unsure of why this has never been an issue before, but is all of a sudden. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Nick Pinegar
Brian Clifford here, to whom it may concern..I understand that the company has to blow the horn at the intersections but there is no reason for the engineers to "just lay on on the horn the way they do". I live right next to the railroad crossing at the intersection of Route 53 (RT. 66) in Braceville Illinois. But at 4am. They must be Standing on the button, I think it just ridiculous for BNFS has to be like that... Please have a little consideration for our little town and neighbors and neighborhood! God bless and thank you for taking the time to read this. Choo, Choo!
train horns
I live in Galesburg Il a long the old Santa Fe line.
This track is a QUITE zone. There are many signs that say LOOK TWICE NO HORNS.
I hear train horns at all hours of the day and night.
One night it was 11:30 p.m. and the trains set at the intersection and blew their horn about ten times or more. Please remind the engineers. It is a quit zone and not to blow their horns. especially 2: a.m. and 3:00 a.m and 4:00 a.m.
Thank you

train whistles
On multiple nights between the hours of 11:00pm - 06:00 am several trains are blowing their whistles which is supposed to be a quiet time in the south side of town in galesburg, il so people can sleep... These trains typically run at 5 mph... Nothing ever seems to be done about... So complaints will be forwarded to sherry boustos the district representative
