We purchased a 9 piece sectional sofa in July of 2021. It is now April 7th and we have been mislead on arrival times throughout the whole process. Originally we were told we would receive it in August of 2021. Then November, then January, then February. In March we were told it is currently on a shipping container in the pacific, slated to arrive in Vancouver March 8th. When I called on March 9th to verify, I was told it did land in Vancouver and was slated to arrive in Toronto on March 28th pending the CN rail strike, (which didn't happen). When I had called today I was told it hasn't even arrived in Vancouver and is slated to arrive April 28th. I've spoken to the store manager, Debra Farrow and the service desk multiple times and have had different answers from each every time. While Debra did offer to call me when it arrived in Toronto, I did not receive phone calls stating that there are further delays from the date provided. We have been waiting to reno our living room dependent on this sofa. We've paid quite a bit of money for it. Other companies have similar product and aren't suffering year long delays, which I was told today that I'm not the only one, others have been waiting well over a year. As if that makes the situation better. I expect better customer service from a company like Leon's. I've purchased quite a bit from Leon's in the past. I certainly wont be making another purchase if this isn't made right.

Desired outcome: I would like to receive the sectional in full that I've purchased otherwise I will be canceling and purchasing from Structube.
Leon's Furniture - customer service very unhappy
I was at Leon's on Monday December 10th specifically looking for a TV stand I went to your electronic section of the store and I asked if there were any chocolate brown TV stand that I could look at there weren't any on the floor so Asked me if I was interested in looking online . I agreed and found one that I liked t was the Fairfield 54" TV Credenza - Espresso he made a call to see if was in stock they said yes but explained that it wasn't assembled. I asked him if I came back in a few days could he have it assembled so I could look at it and he said no they don't do that. He gave me a print out of the TV stand and sent me on my way. I began to browse a bit more and another associate from the main floor asked me if I was finding everything ok I explained what took place and she said "Don't mind him he"S new" She paged him and asked him " Do you want me to show you how to get stuff out of the warehouse ? He said ok so him and I went to the warehouse and it was a box not assembled. I left disappointed 😔
I went back on On December 12th 2019 and I went to electronics and asked the same associate from the other day if he was able to get that stand assembled and he said no. ... ? So I began browsing in the ASIS section and I became interested Ina TV stand that was marked down from 798.00 ( I think) .
It was pretty scratched up and I knew it would take some work so I spoke to a sales associate about coming doWn on the price she politely explained that it just went out on the floor that day and that there wasn't anyway to bring down the price. I'm a frequent shopper/buyer at Leon's and I had never seen her before so I'm assuming she was new to the position. I proceeded to Customer Service and asked the ladies the same question and they explained that they don't do that sort of thing. I asked her if I could speak to a more seasoned associate because in the past I have negotiated a floor model armoire for my bedroom set and it wasn't a problem. The lady in customer service paged the next available associate and asked "what can I do for you?" I explained and he ripped the paper out if my hand and told me "Look at this (pointing to the date it was put on floor "What do you expect? " I told him about about my armoire and he said I've been here for 19 years and I've never seen this His tone was rude I don't like things snatched out of my hands and I surely don't appreciate being spoken down to. I am a women of African ancestry and within the last few years I just started going back to Leon's after the lawsuit against them. I'm a good customer and I spend a Lot of money at Leon's I feel disrespected and I don't appreciate this treatment. Please respond PROMPTLY!
Leon's Furniture - Re-stocking fees
Over the years we’ve purchased several items and were satisfied until our most recent purchase. Leon’s Furniture on 140 Akerley Blvd, Dartmouth, N.S. We purchased a dining room table with 8 chairs. Later we purchased the hutch and buffet to match the table. When the table set arrived one of the chairs had a scratch on it, I took it back to the store and it was replaced with a new one still in the box. When that chair was taken out of the box, it too has a scratch on it. So I returned that chair and again a new one was given, still in a box. This one was O.K. So we enjoyed using the table and chairs, for a few weeks, then we began to notice that the seats on the chairs were starting to sink in. It felt like we were sitting on a toilet seat. We also had to keep screwing in the screws, as they kept falling out, from under the chair, and to tighten them up as well. So, I went to the store, at Customer Service and spoke to someone who sent a repairman to have a look at the chairs in question. He cancelled on two occasions but when he finally arrive, he indicated that the chairs were poorly made and had no support under the padding and that there was no way that they could be repaired and that we should go back to the store and select 8 chairs of our own choosing, preferably hard wood chairs, as the store had plenty of chairs to choose from. I went to the store and looked for replacement chairs. Most of the sets all contained the same type of chair, padded seats of a valour texture material. At the time that I looked there were only three sets of kitchen tables and chairs that were made of wood in the seat area, and the color did not match the set we had. A sales person questioned if I needed any help and I asked if the store would be getting anything new. I told my situation and he said that I should speak directly to my original sales person, he looked on the computer to find out who it was and went and got him. I again explained my dilemma and he said that they got furniture all the time but didn’t know if what I was looking for would arrive in new stock. He also said I should complain to Customer Service and recalling my husband that he should be able to get something done.
A new flyer for the store had come out and I took it to the Customer Service Dept and spoke with Katelyn, (June 1) I mentioned that I wanted to complain about the set I had which looked similar to the one in the flyer. She spoke to someone, behind a tinted glass, and when she came back to me she said that she would give me back some money
$ 327.00. I questioned her why. Then she asked if I was satisfied with the set, yes of course, it was the chairs. She then talked again with someone, and when she came back she said we’ll take the whole set back, just find something else. I left and spoke to my husband that night . He said fine, but how long before we would find something we liked. With an empty dining room, So back I go to the store, I asked to speak to Katelyn, (June 2) since she was the first person that I spoke with, she wasn’t in, she would return to work the next day, I went back to the store the next day, (June 3) again asking for Katelyn. she was off sick, and I had to repeat my dilemma to Teal, asking when they thought some new furniture would come in. They get new stuff all the time, just for me to keep looking. I asked if I’m paying for this furniture, thru finance, and don’t have it, they may not get what I like. Then what? I asked if it was possible for them to take back the furniture, since they offered to take it back, and cancel the contract with the finance company. Teal would talk to Gloria LeBlanc and get back to me. June 11th Teal calls back and, Yes, it could be arranged, but I had to pay for a re-stocking fee 20% of the original amount which amounted to over $600.00. WHAT?
I’ve checked all documentation that was given to us by your company, Leon’s, and the finance company. I’ve gone on the internet and no-where does it state that a re-stocking fee would be charged if returned for cancellation of the contract. My husband got mad and paid it, which ended up being $486.72 and made arrangements to have the furniture picked up. ( What happened to the $327.00 that I was told I would get back?) Then the store had the nerve to call back and ask what was being returned, the table and chairs or the hutch and buffet, or was it all of it. I mentioned to her, that it was Leon’s that suggested that they take back ALL of the furniture and that was what they were getting ALL OF IT.
When the furniture was picked up by your deliver people, they asked for the ninth (9) chair, which we never got or had. Exchanges only. I feel that to be certain that we were not lying they asked (2 people) to use the bathroom, and went upstairs to use it and check. Leaving dirty boot prints on the bathroom mat.
We would like to have this matter resolved by getting our money back $486.72 or legal action will be taken.
I was recently asked to pay 30% restocking fee for wanting to return a sofa and loveseat the next day after it was delivered. I asked if they can waive the restocking fee or match what other stores are charging (10%) if I decided to keep one of the couches so the manager of customer service said she would lower it to 20%. If this inconsistent restocking fee is not bad enough, I was then told that I would only get a store credit. I will never shop there again and would NOT recommend anyone purchase furniture or appliances at Leons.
Well we bought a sofa and chairs from Leon's here in Mississauga and believe me it's been a battle our sofa seats have sunk in a number of times. It feels as if we are sinking in the bottom of the sofa, they have restuffed the pillows but they went back the same way. I have a sofat that I purchased fifteen years ago in Toronto and the this sofa has lasted the fifteen years with the exception of torn fabric. This sofa from Leon's is only two years old and feels like a dirty old thing. We have fought we Leon's and still no answer with them, they wanted to charge us the restocking fee also, but we decline, we are stuck with such poor quality sofa that we are still paying!
These two earlier comments obviously come from Leon's employees!
We are experiencing the same problems with our TV except it has been 8 months since we started this fiasco and they still have our TV!
1. The re-stocking fee is on the back of your large reciept on the bottom
2. If you were running a company would you want something back someone had in their house for several weeks and be stuck with old used furniture? No.
3. No legal action can be done as once again re-stocking fee is on the reciept
4. The $327 was either A) Money off to keep the set as is or B) a rough estimate of how much the re-stocking fee is
I only know all this because I deal with Leons all the time, they are the only guys I want to deal after seeing how other places treat people.
[censored] bag.
suck it up.
shouldnt use peoples names on this ###
