I visited my doctor today Sept 25 2019 at 12:45pm, a prescription was faxed through to shoppers on forest hills parkway electronically. At 4:45pm I had not rec'd a text to confirm the prescription was ready so I called Shoppers to ask - i was told it was not ready, that they don't know when patients are picking up faxed prescriptions, so they could have it ready in 45 minutes. I asked if it could be sooner and the person it advised that it could be done sooner and they would put a rush on it. My husband and I have had terrible experiences picking up medications from this location, such as being told it would be an hour only to come pick it up and they say it will be another 10 minutes which inevitable leads to 20 or more. Or worse my husband once went in to pick up after being told ten minutes by one person and it still wasn't ready so he made sure to say, "they told me it would be ready" and the person behind the prescription counter said, "well they lied." He was horrified.
So as you can imagine, i did not rush to pick up the prescription on Sept 25th, i instead showed up one hour late, assuming this was over the 45 minutes i had been advised, and certainly over the "rush" time it would take. Yet again, it was not ready and i was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I left. Frustrated! I am sick and looking to pick up medication and i keep getting the run around. I went home and waited for a text to say it was ready. At 8pm i still hadn't heard anything - so i called the pharmacy...it was NOT ready! My mom happened to be visiting and was appalled. She told the pharmacist this was unacceptable and the pharmacy said sorry but there was a recall on a drug so we have been busy calling customers all day.
For one, that's not a good enough excuse, and no one else advised me of this. Two - i had been told on several occasions that it would be ready and it never was. I said it would have been better if they just said it would be ready tomorrow. Three - this has been an ongoing situation with this Shoppers drugmart.
I had already switched from Lawtons to Shoppers for meds...and this shoppers keeps letting me down. I got off the phone and rec'd a text that my inhaler was ready. An inhaler, not even pills. A pre-boxed item. I picked it up and the pharmacist said sorry for the wait on this, what is it for. Pneumonia I say, and she says oh i have filled three of these today. I don't care. I have been waiting since 1pm, it's 8:30pm. This is absolutely ridiculous. You're clearly too busy for my business.
