Shoppers Drug Mart - Owner of Alexandria, Ontario location

A new member of our community needed to get a covid test but because he was symptomatic, they wouldn't let him come into the store or allow him to pick it up. He had registered online, got a call, returned it, and was told to call the Alexandria location. He did, spoke to someone, then confirmed that he had someone to pick up the test for him. That person was me. When I arrived to the store, they didn't have the test kit ready. At first, they said they didn't have his name in the system. Then they said they had his name but didn't have his test ready and I would need to come back the next day. Then they tried to blame him for not giving them his phone number so they could 'ring it up.' At that point, the owner took me into his office. Something I wasn't comfortable doing in the midst of a pandemic. He agreed to get the test ready, but I had to give him all of the information over again that my friend had already provided. It was annoying but I did it. Then the owner started accusing my friend of lying about having registered online, he also accused him of being too stupid to do an online registration, then he accused me of lying and berated me. This continued on for more than 1.5 hours. At one point, the owner pulled the test kits closer to him on the desk and further away from me and threatened not to let me take the tests. At that point, I got up and asked if he was going to give me the tests or not, because if not he should stop wasting my time. He told me to sit down and rather than provide me with the tests, continued to berate me. When I asked how to do the test, he yelled at me again and told me that all of the instructions are on their website (they're not). This man continued to call my friend a liar, me a liar, and demanded evidence (phone numbers called, confirmation numbers, copies of the confirmation receipt, etc). I provided it all to him. He even went so far as taking a photo of the confirmation receipt on my phone and continued to berate me and my new friend and accuse us of making mistakes and lying. It was absolutely insane and extremely abusive behavior. When I returned to hand in the test kits later that day, the owner continued to be an [censored] and refused to apologize telling me that I should waste more of my time and drive all the way back on Tuesday when he's working again to discuss. I told him that it takes seconds to apologize, that I was standing right there, but still he refused. I understand that everyone is stressed out these days but there is no excuse for the way the owner behaved or the way that he spoke to me and the way he spoke about the person I was trying to help that day. To threaten not to give me the tests just so that he could force me to stay there for him to continue berating me was a terrible abuse of power. I have been going to Shoppers Drug Mart all my life, I even used to work for them as a regional merchandiser years ago. I'm generally a big fan of the store but I will never go back to the Alexandria location. This man is controlling, abusive and a generally toxic, horrible person. I do not understand how Shoppers Drug Mart could ever let someone like this own one of their shops or how they could allow him to be in control of medications, let alone covid tests and vaccines. It is absolutely abhorrent that he would try to use his position to deny tests to people who are symptomatic and keep me there for more than an hour and a half increasing my exposure and putting my health at risk. The Alexandria location should lose their ability to have anything to do with covid vaccinations and testing. In fact, I think he should lose his license altogether.

Desired outcome: Remove his ability to give covid vaccines or participate in testing. Remove his ownership altogether. This man should not be allowed to control medication, vaccines, or tests.
