Shoppers Drug Mart

On July 13 at approximately 5:30pm I went into Shoppers Drug Mart at 1400 Ottawa Street south in Kitchener to pick up a prescription. I received a text from this location on July 10th to inform me that it was ready. I had been waiting for this particular medication for a few months as it was back ordered. While I was waiting for it they did supply me with a substitute which I did appreciate. Unfortunately when I did go in on July 13th to pick it up they at first ts me they had no prescription for me and that that prescription was canceled in May. When I explained the back order issue and slowed the clerk the text I received she then checked to see if the medication was there. It was and I wad told it would be filled and be ready in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I was still standing there waiting while the clerk asked the pharmacist twice to check it. The pharmacist both ti. ws when asked told the clerk to give him awhile as he was with a customer, the same customer that he was with when I got there and 30 minutes later still talking to. When I asked the clerk how much longer it was going to take I was told she was still waiting for it to be checked. At this point I was getting pretty mad and told the clerk that it was "[censored]" something I'm not proud of but it was getting pretty ridiculous. I had more words with the clerk regarding the service or the lack of service and the whole time the pharmacist who was less than 5 feet away from me kept talking with the other customer ignoring everything around him. The clerk offered to deliver my prescription which I did appreciate, I wanted to pay for it then but was told it couldn't be paid for until it was filled. I told her I needed to pay by debit and how was I to do that when it was delivered. The clerk then told me she was going to wave the cost because of everything that had happened. I appreciated that but feel it should never have come to any of that. I feel the pharmacist could have excused himself for the brief moment it would have taken him to check my prescription.
