Customer service
My credit card was discontinued due to the fact that Hudson's Bay company and Capital One finished working together. I have a Credit of 799.14 on my old Hudson's Bay MasterCard. I've call continually over the last few months trying to get my money back and people and automated voice mail keep saying 60/90 days. I spoke with someone 2 months ago and apparently it wasn't added to my file so now I still have to wait 60 days and seriously I don't believe I will ever get this money back. They tell me today that It's finally filed on line and that I will. It's been the worst customer service experience in my whole life. And I'm not young.
Desired outcome: Send my my money
Credit card
1. I have a Capital One Venture Card. I have never made a late payment in my 20+ years as a customer. 2. I have set up through my bank to have the same amount electronically remitted to Capital One each month, on the same day (ie. every 30 days), to more than cover any minimum payment that may be due on the card for a month's transactions. There is no dispute that my payments more than cover the minimum payments required by Capital One. To my knowledge there has never been an issue with the timing of these payments, relative to the Capital One billing period in the past. 3. Recently, Capital One received my payment due November, 2021 on October 13, 2021. My December payment, which my statement said was due on December 6, 2021, was sent by the bank on November 11, 2021, one day before the end of what Capital one claims to be their billing cycle. 4. Because the automatic payment from the bank was sent one day early (because of an upcoming weekend), Capital One claims I made no payment for December at all. To punish me for this they have: *Locked my card indefinitely *Charged me a late fee *Reported me to credit agencies as a delinquent customer 5. Capital One refuses to remedy this error. Capital One claims that unless I make a payment directly to them, by allowing them access to withdraw funds directly from my bank account, they can and will continue to suspend my ability to use the account indefinitely. 6. The bank from which I make my payments has verified to them that funds for the Capital One bill due on January 6, 2022 have been removed from my banking account and have been transferred to Capital One as of 12/13/2021. They also verify that according to their records, no payment has been missed in the history of electronic payments made by the bank to Capital One. 7. As of 12/14/2021, Capital One themselves show that the funds have been received, but continue to tell me that the card is frozen indefinitely for non payment. They insist that it "takes a few days" to process the payment, and therefore they will not release the card for an indefinite period of time, and refuse to give me a date when that might occur and when the errors will be corrected and my good credit history etc restored
Desired outcome: Unblock my account, respond to my inquiries, refund money owed to me due to fraudulent practices
taking from 07 dec to 16 dec to receive a replacement card
on 07 dec cap1 called and e-mailed me about a false useage on my card. they cancelled the card i have and told me they would send me a new card due 16 dec why would it take so long to get a replacement card do you not care for your long time customers like myself what a joke
Auto loan
Since the first month I bought my car I have had to spend over an hour every single month to get these bozos to process my payments. They accept the payment, then a few days later I get the message "your loan needs urgent attention". There is always more than enough $ to cover the payment, and always on time!
I have given them 2 different bank accounts to draw payment from in an effort to help with their ineptitude. I called both of my banks and asked why they aren't t releasing the payment to Capital One and both of them say that Capital One is NOT requesting the payment.
I am at the end of my rope and now considering letting the car go back to them to gain some peace of mind! They also try to add late payments when it has NEVER been late..
HELP!
Desired outcome: Get this crazy company some instruction on handling accounting.
closing card
i find it insane that after you close your card with balance you are still charged interest. I've closed numerous cards and all you pay is your balance not more interest. never again will i have a capital one card. i even called to try to get a resolution and there was no help what so ever.
Desired outcome: stop the interest
Free Checks disappeared
I have been a customer for probably 40 years - I started with Chevy Chase Bank & it was bought out by Cap One many years ago. My account had free checks from day one. Now they want to charge me for checks & say they changed my checking account on me without my authorization. I keep a very large balance in my account, plus I have a savings account, a money market account & my visa with them. I am disgusted that they would treat a customer this way.
Desired outcome: Reinstate free checks for me
Late Payment Charges
My autopay was setup to pay for months over and above the minimum amount. The min. went up in November and exceeded my payment amount by $7. I was charged a $40 late fee. The customer service manager(Mark) was very brief and not helpful at all. I asked if he could see when my account was created (2007) and that I was disappointed with this fee. He refused to reverse the charge and was completely ok with losing me as a customer and walking away with Capital One.
Desired outcome: Refund late fee
billing
There were two charges on my Capital one credit card that I did not make to Amazon. The charges were reversed then two weeks later Capital one put them back on my account. Amazon has no record of the charges to my Amazon account so how do I prove that I did not make them?
my wifes amazon account was charged for the same items. So we are being charge twice for the same items.
october 26 Amazon.com V46zk3303 and oct 23 Amazon.com 2Y3Pf9DJO
I did not make these charges, but no one at Capital one will listen to me. I will NEVER use their credit card again. I have paid the bill and cut up my card. When I click on the charges on my bill, my wifes Amazon account comes up. The Amazon account has been paid and now capital one is charging me for the same items. I know nothing will be done, but maybe other people will not get screwed like me, if they are thinking about getting a credit card from them
Desired outcome: Charges taken off my bill
Personal Checking Account 63 30 1775 1
I have been banking with Capital One Bank since 1985 with whom I have 6 different products . On November 18, 2021 my personal checking account #63 30 1775 1 was locked unbeknownst to me. Two checks were denied so far. When I inquired about the situation an extremely rude agent in the Case Review Department claimed that Capital One Bank did not want me for a customer. He treated me as though I was a villain and obviously not interested in discussing a solution. He was extremely obnoxious and demeaning. My concern is that this account consist of 2 direct deposits (My Social Security and my wife's Retirement Benefits). Also two automatic withdrawals for my (Life Insurance and my Health Insurance). All four transactions are at this time of month. My life insurance benefit is $120, 000.00 which I cannot have it canceled for lack of payment. I'm 79 years old. Also I can't have Blue Cross Blue Shield canceled. Will this account accept the two direct deposits and they be available to me? Please help me resolve this situation.
With regards,
Joseph R Guercia
Desired outcome: Unlock checking account.

on Friday November19th, I tried many times to connect to your payment number and got a recorded message asking questions and I kept getting covid 19 info or was told to hold for representative, then I would wait until I was disconnected each time, When I finally got through I spoke to a nice lady to whom I explained my problem getting through. She took my payment and told me if I was charged a fee to call back and it would be removed. I called back today and your supervisor denied the request and I asked to talk to her suoervisor and she said "NO" Would you please return my $23.00. My account is over 9 years old.
Desired outcome: To have the $23.00 returned to my account.
False Advertising of 0% APR for 12 months
I am filing a complaint. I purchased a dining set from West Elm and opened a capital one card to finance it at 0% interest for 12 months. West elm charged it in pieces a large portion of which fell outside the promotional period. When I called to resolve the issue, they spoke to west elm, validated what I said, escalated it, and refused to honor the agreement. In addition, they said whatever I pay goes towards the promotional balance first, meaning that I have to pay in full as to not incur any costs - this makes the promotion a [censored]ing scam as I can't even get it for the full 12 months. I am paying in full, canceling the card, and telling everyone that this company is fraudulent. I have never in my entire life dealt with a company like this
West Elm CC rewards program
I purchased a couch at West Elm in October 2020. I earned $175.00 in rewards certificate. I used $56.63 at some point on a purchase and still had a $119.37 balance. I tried to use the balance recently from certificate [protected] issued 10/30/20. When i called West Elm customer service kept me on hold for 45 minutes. We then realized the certificate was issued under a Comenity Bank cc # ending in 3388. When Capital One had the change of ownership from Comenity i was issued a new CC ending in 6531. I was then transferred to a RUDE customer service rep named Marcia who informed me the rewards dollars expired and Capital One is not responsible for the balance and then hung up on me. I would like the rewards dollars re-instated. If I do not get a satisfactory resolution I will cancel all my credit cards with Capital One including Sakes, GM, Neiman Marcus and West Elm.

Credit card
I notified capitalone on September 16th, 2021 about my change of address and to pay my bill of $46.47 and request a written account bill as of that date . Since I did receive my written statement to my new address
On November 9th, 2021 I get a call from capitalone credit card department asking for more information but wouldn't say why .
Again I give my new address and the old address as well with the exact phone number, I am ask to give the girl at the end of the line for my social security number and I answered I'll give you the last 4 numbers, after 5 minutes of complete inadequacy I'm never told why all in the sudden am I going thru this and never got answer .
I called a 2nd time and go thru the same scenario then after another 5 minutes and being told over &over by this person I need to verify . Verify what exactly?
Still, now I'm told there are restrictions on my card without knowing, capital one can not be depended on .it is easy for anyone there to stop your credit card, this has happened 3 times without any reasons in the last year, why did it take capitalone 2 full months to verify what? I've been a customer for 20 years plus and how incompetent their staff is unbelievable and can barely speak English is just plain unacceptable as far I can remember I still live in the United States of America
I don't wait 2 months to pay my bill because I want to verify you, in case of emergency I would not depend on this credit card to assist me when I need it most .
I would expect English speaking agents and competency should be optimal, you are playing with people credit line and this can not be tolerated .
Desired outcome: First speaking English agent and an explanation why it took 2 months to verify what? My address? 2nd an apology for the waste of time and the frustration I had to endure
master card
Have been trying for days to contact them and wait on the phone for long periods of time to be put over to a voice mail that is full and cannot leave a message.
I received notice to continue my capital one card. I was successful then within 2 weeks they cancelled my account.
I received notice to continue my Capitol One card. I was successful, I received my new card via mail. Then within 2 weeks they cancelled my account. This is so outrageous, I called customer support, (they were able to locate my *closed account) via the last 4 account digits, and then said it was closed and was not able to open it back again after just sending my new cards that would not expire until 4/26.
Capitol One was very happy to take the interest for a loan transfer of $30.000 in the beginning but can't seem to leave an account open once I requested it to be kept open.
The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, soo SAD. The rep I spoke too was polite and helpful (to the extent she was able) but left me very unsatisfied with the outcome.
I want someone to contact me at [protected], and via email [protected]@sbcglobal.net so I can get some better understanding how you really care about your customer.
Sincerely Chris Maxton

past due fees
I am trying to figure out how I keep getting past due fees when I have my card set to pay automatically. My due date is the 16th of the month and it shows i pay that day and then you still charge me a $40 fee. This has happened twice now. I want both fees ($40 and $29) removed because I paid both times on time according to my due date.
My account ends in 2146.

Unfair practices
In August of 2021 CapitalOne sent a letter demanding that I send them a picture ID and a photo proof of my social security. I thought it odd as I have been a customer for many years with several credit cards and a couple of auto loans. I called them and after talking to several different people I was informed that sometimes they do this. They gave me a date of Sept 28, 2021 to comply or my account would be restricted and possibly closed. At the beginning of October I went to their website to pay my bill and redeem some bonus cash that I had legally and in good faith earned but found that my account was frozen and my bonus was not available. I have written a letter of complaint to the CEO and I have stated my stance. I explained that I respect their right to do what they want to do but they have no right to steal the rewards that I legally and in good faith earned. I have not had any response from CapitalOne.
Desired outcome: Release my rewards dollars for my use.
Credit Card
My account for the six months has it has stayed in good standing, never late with a payment. Today not only did I find out through my credit monitor company they closed my account with no notification, but the account was tampered with as well as they knowingly gave false information about the balance as well as payments. After a rep from Capital and my bank customer service verified all payments had cleared and posted to the account, Capital blatantly still reported the owed balance and closed the account showing I left an unpaid balance. This is completely false. As well as now holding my refund and half of the refund is now in question where it is along with them holding on to and not sharing my statements and documents showing when the account was opened as well as the 200.00 deposit I opened the account with
Desired outcome: Those associates that reported as well as tampered with account fired
