Credit card
An account with JPMCB was delinquent in 2017 and listed as charged off in 08/2018. The account has remained in that status since. JPMCB contacted all 3 bureaus and has the account updated to reflect closed as of 09/2023. This action caused my credit score to drop by more than 40 points. I have successfully disputed this with Transunion but Experian and Equifax will not correct the error. I am not disputing the debt but the information about when the account was charged off is incorrect and multiple credit reports generated prior to Sept 2023 will show the first delinquency and the original charge off date.
Per the company, an investigation into the matter found that the account was - reported your account as charged off on August 31, 2017, with a $4,784.39 balance… while I the investigation findings aligned with my records, they continue to report the charge off date incorrectly. The bureaus say that the error is on JPMCB side, but they refuse to fix the problem.
Desired outcome: Correct of credit reports or remove from bureaus.
Unauthorized access to my safety deposit box.
I have had a safety deposit box in Paradise CA 95969 for 8 years, since 2014. It has always been tied to my account and I have always had to show ID and use a specific pin to access the box. Last Monday 8/8/22, I went to Chase Bank to access my safety deposit box and retrieve some documents, and my lock for my key had been drilled out. When the associate asked the bank manager about the my lock being drilled out, they found that 8 years ago, whoever issued me the safety deposit box made an error and issued me the incorrect box. So, last Monday they told me, for the first time, that Chase Corporate did an audit and found that my box wasn't "supposed to belong to me" and so they drilled my lock, went through my belongings, sealed them up, and they are now in the Chase vault (location unknown). When I asked why I wasn't notified of the need to drill into my box, or that my items were being removed, the bank manager told me, that since my box wasn't supposed to belong to me, I don't have legal right to know any information about that box. This happened sometime in the past 4-6 months. I usually access it 2-3 times year. The manager told me and my husband we have to have a formal meeting around the 24th of August I believe, to retrieve our personal belongings. I have always paid my annual fee, used ID, used a personal PIN, have had the same key for 8 years, and now my most personal documents are in the Chase vault wherever that is. We are very unhappy about this. This is a total invasion of privacy and trust.
Fraud
Reported to chase that there was a transfer from my account that I did not approve because my phone had been hacked. They did not cancel the charge and I filed a fraud claim. They reimbursed and then I got a letter saying it wasn't fraudulent because it came from my phone, and they were going to re charge me $317. I didn't approve this charge! I cant get ahold of zelle they don't pick up
Credit card processing
chase has not deposited my credit card transactions to my bank. It has been over 2 months. It is $20, 000 and I can't get anyone to help or return my calls. What can I do to get my money?
Fraudulent dispute
We completed work on a homeowners home. During Covid-19 mandatory shutdown, the homeowner put a dispute in. We submitted all necessary documentation which included a contract, work order, signed completion and email conversations to prove all work was completed and homeowner paid the balance and signed the satisfaction of completion. Chase bank issued the funds back to the card holder. All work was completed before the mandated shutdown, once we reopen after being in contact with the homeowner she stopped responding to any emails and phone calls. Because all work was completed and homeowner paid the balance, she then put in a dispute. No one at chase can tell me why she disputed or tried helping to rectify the situation. I have called numerous times only to keep getting transfer and transfer to someone different at Chase. I have multiple questions that can not be answered. I am not sure why the homeowner is not responding to us, unless she is a scam artist and knew what she was doing. Because if there was any issues to discuss she could have called us directly. I have a business account with Chase and they are doing nothing to help correct the situation. Next is legal actions. Do not use Chase Merchants Services for any of your business needs. They do not look at all evidence provided. There is not even a manager that can help. They just keep transferring you. We are a small mom and pops company and can not afford a huge lost like this. Chase merchants services will also hold your monies if a dispute is made. They will hold your money for 6 months and you will have a target amount you will need to reach before it goes into effect. So for us its $30, 000 that Chase merchants want to hold. We can not afford that, we have bills and employees to pay. Do not use Chase!
Chevy Chase Bank has the worst Treasury Mangement customer service department
Chevy Chase Bank has the worst Treasury Mangement customer service department.
Recently I got locked out of my Chevy Chase Online Access account and called the Treasury Management helpdesk. I left a message at around 8:00 in the morning. I called back at half hour intervals until 3 p.m. and never had any luck with getting a live person on the line. I would estimate I made a total of 15 plus calls to the helpdesk [protected]) and left atleast 5 messages.
This is not a one time experience with Chevy Chase Bank. In fact things have steadily declined since my primary contact at Chevy Chase Bank left the department and joined another department. I can honestly say that I have never got a live person on the line in the last eight or nine months.
If I do get a call back its hours later and Vicki/Vicky most times does not seem to know what she is talking about. During a recent conversation she made it seem like I was an inconvenience. In the background I heard her describing what was happening at a wedding and instucting someone else to look at pictures on her phone.
I am really not sure how Chevy Chase Bank trains their employees but it has gotten worse. The funny thing is that Vicky is the department's most experienced employee. When I was sold this service I was promised exceptional personal service and I can't possibly fathom what the Sales Officer was thinking.
They recently added a new guy to the deparment who seems very friendly but I doubt he was trained properly as he placed me on hold a number of times while processing a simple request.
A Happy ending...
Finally the next day I reached out to my other contact (Aashish Ponniah) at Chevy Chase Bank. He promptly unlocked me and even hung around until I got done with processing my transactions. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and I miss working with him.

Discrimination at work place
Chevy Chase Bank and its senior management discriminates when it comes to promotions and employee salary increases. This is "most" apparent in regions run by Denise Pope, Robert (Bob) Brown, Suzanne Rossetti, and Dana Belgrave. These people think they have a single bureaucracy in the bank since the bank was run by a single person in B.F. Saul. I have one request from the CEO of Capital One, Sir, please remove these old fashion people that has no impact to the bank and also who has outdated visions, and in addition that does not take care of their employees. The bank has so much money to spend on other things even during hard economic conditions but when it comes to cut backs it comes from their lower level hard working work force. Recently they reduced and made it harder to earn commissions for its employees. They keep placing barriers for employees and at the same time spending ridiculous amounts of money on other things where they could be spending on their biggest asset "front line employees". One last thing..."Chevy Chase Bank its not a place for employees, hope it changes with Capital One"...

I have been a Chevy Chase Bank Visa card member since 2004. When I first obtained the Visa card, it was at a modest interest rate. In March of 2004 I was in Iraq, coming under mortar fire, being shot at, and had my convoy stopped three times for road side bombs to be detonated. I was late in making a payment to Chevy Chase Bank Credit Card in March of 2004 and my interest rate went up to approximately 29.99%. I have called multiple times to request that the interest be lowered and each time am told that because of that late payment in March of 2004, nothing can be done to lower my rate, despite the fact that I have been making on time payments and significantly reduced the total amount on the card. I have even been told that Chevy Chase Bank Visa is not a charity and that because of the recently enacted rules and regulations by Congress, they can not lower my rate. I find the first statement insulting and the latter statement questionable.
I have asked that an account manager call to discuss this and have been told that one would call within 24 – 48 hours, but no one ever calls. It is further distressing to been shown this degree of disrespect and gives the appearance that Chevy Chase Bank customers are only there to be gouged for profit making and not as a type of partnership that is mutually and respectfully beneficial for both Chevy Chase Bank and their customers.
Chevy Chase Bank absolutely refuses to lower the rate and blames Congress, my ineptitude in not making a payment while my life is in danger, and on the economy. This is simply not how one should do business and is an example of why the banks are in such dire conditions.
I recently recieved a letter from you concerning a credit card that is unpaid. I do not or never had a credit card with Chevy Chase bank. If this is in reguards to any account from 2002, I know that the statute of limitations on this type debt in N.C. is 7 years. Like I said before I never have had an account with this bank. The account number is [protected], PRA ref.#.I will dispute this and any other credit card issued prior to 2002. Thank you.
This is awful "noba" at silver spring location she gave me a poor service just because she need to return a phone call to a guy call musthaffa, what kind of service this people are offering.stay away from this location.
I agree that in Chevy Chase Bank - there was a lot of politics involved. If you deserved a raise or a promotion; you would really need to know your DM on personal basis & also use just big words to get ahead. Capital One Bank have implemented several changes & what I admire about them is "VOICE of Associate" mail box - where anyone can raise their concern & it is heard. The Mid-Atlantic region is still run by a few old timers, but there is certainly a behavioral change & if it continues to progress in the positive direction then it is Ok to give 'em a chance.
I could not agree more!
I was an Asst. Manager there and was up for promotion and lost out on my interview because I was playing Branch Manager at TWO branches. My DM refused to help me get another interview for the training program. After forgiving that, I continued to do everything asked of me so I could be considered again. This put me in the back office on a special project. When lay-offs came I got let go for not making my numbers. I was in the contact center, where my DM put me, how could I have made my numbers?
My best to the ones that remain. I hope whatever Capital One does makes your job easier to handle.
I agree. Lump Barbara Scottland, Branch Manager of the Highbridge Shoppes, Bowie, MD into this catagory. She discriminates customers. Her management just sweep things under the carpet and don't care. Maybe Capital One will clean house.
We should just eliminate Chevy Chase Bank altogether, I am in the process of getting rid of my account because they've treated me so poorly as a customer. They are the worst financial institution and I'd warn anyone not to bank with them.
