Capital One Mobile Their app glitches and they are a dishonest business!

About a month ago I went to make my payment via their mobile app as usual, when something went wrong and the app glitched and took the entire balance instead of the minimum payment. I didn't know this happened for days until capital one took all but a couple hundred dollars from my bank account! I had other bills coming out so naturally this caused me to over draft! When I called in and explained what had happened they seemed polite and understanding and willing to help resolve the problem but needed me to call back when my bank was open. So I did and the woman on the phone tricked me! When we called in she explained to me in order to process this refund we just need to verify with your bank that the payment has already posted! I said ok she put me on hold and then when she came back she claimed she had a representative from my bank on the phone and they asked for all my personal information to verify my identity with capital ones representative listening in and then very carefully worded she proceeded to ask if I had authorized the transaction and if it had posted for the certain dollar amount! I simply said yes in an effort to expedite the refund process not understanding at the time the wording that she had used! I never at any point authorized them to withdrawl over 1300.00 from my bank acct, only the 30.00 minimum payment! With that statement it enabled capital one to not be held accountable and to not pay the over draft fees caused by their app glitch! Not only was I without money for a week while I waited for my refund but left with 100.00+ in over draft fees, which not to mention makes life pretty difficult as a truck driver... Not having money to eat or purchase the necessities such as windshield washer fluid, while your hundreds of miles away from home! When I called to escalate the issue they were in complete denial and refused to reimburse me the over draft fees and then the jerk said to me since this was a glitch why don't you ask your bank to forgive fees its not like your out spending money frivolously and eating out all the time right?! Your a horrible unaccountable company and I hope you go bankrupt! I will be getting rid of you from my life shortly!

Capital One Mobile CapitalOne is the worst bank

Recently my wife tried to use the CapitalOne mobile app to do a mobile deposit on a check. The check belonged to my father in law, and she wasn't aware that you couldn't deposit a 3rd party check via mobile deposit even if it's been signed over. Having prior banking experience, when I got the email confirming a deposit I called my wife to ask her about it, at which point I discovered what she had done. I called CapitalOne the next morning to inform them of the mistake and ask that the check be denied. I was told that couldn't happen and I either had to close my account in which my funds would be locked up or I had to get authorization by the check assignee. I then went to a branch to try and sort this out where I was able to withdraw my funds and was told that I would have to wait a few days for things to resolve. I called to follow up with them today and was informed that my account is closed. The rep I spoke to couldn't give me a reason other than "the check". I then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor (Marley in the CPR team), continued to say the same thing essentially “the check”. The more I questioned her on how this makes sense the story would change and I would get different answers. At one point was told the check was fraudulent, when I asked how the check was fraudulent was told because it returned. When I asked if I had a check in my name return would that make it fraudulent as well? The story changed again. Then i was told the decision to close the account was made because I failed to provide information that was requested on the original call days prior. I informed Marley that was incorrect and requested the phone call recording be pulled because not once was I asked for any info that I could’ve simply provided, I was told that the decision was final. I then requested a manager and was told that’s not an option because she was capable of handling my account. I then asked if she was capable to give me a reason the account was being closed to which I was told “the decision is final”. CapitalOne has the worst customer service and should be investigated for their banking practices as it seems their reps will make up whatever they want and note conversations however they want.

Capital One Mobile Good but could be great

- Need a feature for live chat within the app...that would be a nice addition (mobile app).. sometimes, I just don’t want to call or cannot make a call. A chat function within the app is the best solution... Will be very useful for credit card management as well..

- Need a feature to set travel notifications for both the 360 Debit Card and Venture credit card accounts...

- Need ATM reimbursements (up to a fixed $ value per month) like every other banks offer these days.. That'd be a significant plus... With capital one being a primary driver, I found it so difficult to withdraw money in Canada. There are virtually no ATMs in Montreal can support free withdrawals. that a Need ATM reimbursements.

- Now that Capital One Investing is gone and ETRADE is in, why not connect ETRADE balances to the 360 account home screen, in one universal interface (mobile app)? That’d would be great.

- Need an intelligent and a more intuitive and straightforward bill pay interface with color coding with some intelligence built into it.. why are the biller groups not appearing in the mobile version? the current interface is not that intuitive. For example, why are we seeing the old accounts in the mobile bill pay interface? Bill pay interface in the mobile app badly needs a facelift...

- Need better P2P in lieu of Zelle (should be able to transfer the money easily with routing and account numbers). IMO, Zelle is dismal.
On the other hand, Capital One wire transfer is too expensive. Need a simpler P2P interface where one can transfer to people with their account info.. simple- not more or less..

- Need free checks at least limited amount every quarter (why is Cap One still charging for checks?)

- It'd be nice to have a calculator in the home screen (web version)

- Mail a check interface is dull and lackluster... need a facelift (web version)...

- It’d be great if Cap one can allow for seamless cash advance transfer from Cap one credit card to Cap One 360 checking Acc (free transfer), with subsidized APR (~10%) charged on a daily basis... The cash advance fee must be eliminated.. this synergy between 360 Checking and Venture Card accounts would be a great addition that in my view would keep Cap one in the forefront...

Capital One Mobile Very Annoying Security

So I have been using this out for a little over a month and initially I absolutely loved it. After some time I decided to enable the fingerprint login which is my favorite way of logging in since its seamless and easy to use. It was working fine for a few weeks and then one day I got prompted with a security question. The security question was one of the five questions that I had preselected in case I needed an account recovery. I entered my security question and I was able to login. The problem is from this day forward I am never able to use my fingerprint ID without needing to put in this answer to one of the five security questions every single time I login. I have already confirmed that I'm using the same IP address on my Wi-Fi each time I login. I have also tried disconnecting from my wife I am using my Verizon a multitude of times and despite how many times I login from each IP address the software acts as if it does not recognize me and requires my security question each and every time I login. There is absolutely zero point in using a fingerprint as your password if you're going to have to type in a security answer that's even longer than the typical password. I absolutely hate how in today's time all the steps being taken for security purposes is doing nothing more than preventing the legitimate use her from being able to use the app seamlessly. It's absolutely ridiculous and I never have time to type in all the words that I have for my security questions that were not intended to be there for every single log. I've contacted customer service and they loop to me through a whole process of deleting my account re-creating it only to get the same problem all over again. My wife has an account with capital one credit card and uses the app with her fingerprint no problem at all. So this is not something that happens to everybody. But for the people it does happen to like myself it completely destroys the app and makes me not even want to have it on my phone, it saddens me to see companies with such a large amount of money be so unprofessional when it comes to their software applications and security processes. Quite frankly they need to get it together up there, fix their stuff to work properly so that it's not a headache for their customers.

Capital One Mobile Fix my account & My credit NOW!

On September 21st I went to a local bar. Ordered food and drinks. The bill came to 37.20. I handed them my credit card. When I signed the slip to return to the bar. I wrote in to add a $5 tip. The next day the owner called me and said the bartender accidentally made the “tip” $122,005.00. They said they would contact their merchant and stop the transaction. My account limit is only $8,500. I figured it would get declined if they didn’t get it stopped. The bar called me the next day claiming it was fixed. Three days later it posted and was approved. I saw it using my credit card app. So I called the company and disputed it. Obviously. The next day sept 25th. The credit card company and the bar both returned the $122,000. So now my credit card showed negative. I contacted my credit card company again to fix the problem. It took till October 9th for them to “rebill” me. However they processed it twice. So it was two $122,000 chargers on my account. Showing again for the second time that I owed $122,000. I called my credit card company back again. They saw the issue and said they were fixing it. I should see it in 3-5 days. It wasn’t fixed. So I called again. I talked to their manager. She said she fixed it. I was on hold for over 30 minutes. I was told I should keep checking my transactions to see it was corrected. Again... after another week it was not. October 20th it still has not been fixed after calling many many times. I now received and email from credit karma. Because of such a high balance and over my limit on a credit card. My score went from a 750 to a 540. Right while I am in the process of buying a home. I called the credit card company on the 20th of October. To talk to the highest superior in the building. After over an hour. They reassured me that it was fixed and I should see it in 3-5 days... they would not send me proof in paper or email of it. They also said they sent a dispute to the credit bureau. But that will take 30-90 days before they even look at it. All I did was buy dinner. And this company has been ruining my life with not getting anything done. My credit card is locked bc it claims I owe $122,000. And now my credit is ruined and I lost the house I tried to buy. This needs fixed and no one is willing to do anything about it.

Capital One Mobile Good and bad

I have mixed feelings about this new app. This has been my primary bank for over ten years--for checking and savings-- and I use this app all the time, so hopefully Capital One will take note...

The one thing that bothers me the most is that there is no memo line when I make a transfer between accounts. When I move money around, I need to be able to note why the money is being moved. PLEASE add this feature back on. It is very inconvenient to have to log on to the computer just to make a quick transfer.

This app seems like it was designed to look nice, but functionality was left behind. It seems like it was designed for people with huge fingers and low dexterity for using a mobile device. A lot of screens, like the home screen and bill pay screen, have giant boxes to tap on. This is a waste of space and makes it so that you have to scroll more to get to what you are looking for. Also, you can't rearrange these boxes to be in a more convenient order. The order in which the accounts are listed on the home screen has no rhyme or reason to it. Also, why does there need to be a nickname and a profile picture taking up half of the home screen? This isn't social media, it is online banking.

When an account is brought up, only about five recent transactions are displayed. Instead of having to tap "view all," why not just bring them all up to start with? The recent transactions will still show at the top for those who only want to see that, but then those of us who might need to see something from a few days ago will also have what we need.

This is random, but I have a lot of trouble getting the decimal to work when I input dollar amounts on check deposits.

There are some improvements as well. The addition of Touch ID on the login screen is fantastic. Also the new way of depositing checks works so much better now. I had huge issues with the camera taking pictures on the old app. And you would have to go through several screens before being told that the check was out of focus and would then have to start the entire process over. It used to take me about 3-5+ minutes to make a deposit and now I can do it in less than a minute and all from the same screen. I love it.

This app has such potential...hopefully Capital One will take note of everyone's constructive criticism and fix what needs to be fixed.

Capital One Mobile 416MB app size and Forced Updates to use?!

Dear Capital One,

I strongly recommend that you stop paying for the development of an app, because I have a far superior and simpler solution: tell your customers to create a bookmark in safari, and save their username/password for use with face ID. Now, when a customer want to do some online banking, they need only open safari, press bookmark, auto-login with Face ID, and then proceed with their task.

This is a far better than using the app, since there’s no significant difference between (safari—>bookmark—>faceID login) and (scroll to app location—> touch app—>faceID login). At first blush it might seem to be about the same, but consider the differences:

1. Consider what happens when you update the app and make the customer wait 5 minutes for a 400 friggin MB app to download. Just doing this once would far overshadow the possibly 1 extra click that the safari option has.
2. You have access to the most complete set of features available when mobile, since other users have pointed out feature differences with the app and safari, with safari offering the most complete set.
3. You don’t have to pay for an app development team.

What self respecting bank doesn’t want to save money by ignoring the small sub-set of users that demand an app when a mobile website and bookmark will do? You already demonstrate comfort with ignoring the needs of a small subset of users that loathe auto-updates by torturing them with forced-updates to use your 416MB app; thus, if in either case you will be telling users that you can’t accommodate their request, but only in one case you save money, why are you choosing to not save money AND not accommodate the requests of users? You’re making a lose-lose choice! Thus, you should KILL THE APP SUPPORT/DEV COST or CANCEL FORCED UPDATES. This would make you win-win:)

I hope you make the logical choice,
Best regards,
The-Customer-You-Torture-With-Forced-Updates

P.S. Hey Dev Team: I hope you have to download a 416MB application form to claim unemployment insurance benefits:) Oh, and best of luck in all your future endeavors. I’m terribly sorry that capital one couldn’t accommodate your request to stay employed, but when something simply can’t be done (like removing forced updates or keeping your jobs) then there’s nothing to do but move on! It’s very relaxing when you accept the impossible as being impossible. Que Sera Sera!

Capital One Mobile Not a one stop banking shop!

I recently opened up several checking and savings accounts as a jumping point for my financial future. One JOINT checking account between me and my partner meant for household charges and one PERSONAL checking account meant for my own paycheck and personal private charges. The accounts were visible in my app immediately but not in my partners after accepting the invite for joint status. We figured it may take a few days so we thought nothing of it and patiently waited. A debit card finally arrives with my name on it for the joint checking account, nothing with his info and nothing in regards to my personal checking. I again think to be patient and they’ll probably show up the next day. Few days go by, no more debit cards in the mail and still no accounts showing in partners app. I call in today to customer service and receive the most idiotic information I’ve ever heard from a bank: I will only be receiving ONE debit card. That debit card is linked to the first checking account I set up (the joint household). My partner, the joint account holder, will not be receiving one. When I asked why, I, for the life of me, could not get an answer because quite frankly, I don’t think the agent knew why either. Isn’t the entire purpose of a joint account is for both account owners to have access? Are we supposed to plan ahead and swap cards every time we go grocery shopping or pay a bill? Not to mention that the card is under my name so he has no proof of id that matches the card which may result in declining of payment from wherever he’s purchasing from. We’re far too busy to keep in mind to swap cards when needed and what if there’s an emergency? I mean this is beyond [censored]ic. When I ask the agent about my PERSONAL checking accounts debit card, she again reminded me I would only be receiving the one already linked to the joint account. She would be happy to switch the link over to my personal checking but then that would mean no one would have access to the joint account. So my choices are have ONE person have access to the joint account (which totally defeats the purpose of a JOINT account) with ONE debit card and not have access at all to the account that my paychecks are deposited into OR have complete access to my personal checking account and have me and my partner have no access to our household checking account? Can someone please explain how, in the year 2022, this makes any complete sense? Capital one, grow a brain and do better.

Capital One Mobile Funky UI, and statement amount bug cost me?

The UI of CapitalOne Apps has never been great to me (compared to Discover, Amex, Ally, etc) , but it works. From one engineer to another - it's just a weird UI. Like it's trying too hard to be different and just ends up being hard to use. I make a habit to come in and manually pay the full statement balance once a month (before due) to avoid any interest charges. Been doing this on all my cards for years. Never had an issue. Never a missed payment or interest charge. Out of nowhere - I see a capital one interest charge. What?! Looking at my payment history - I did come in and make a payment like usual. I believe I selected "previous statement balance" - but for someone reason capital one had the wrong math in there - and it gave me the wrong number. Meaning my payment amount was for some amount less than the remaining statement amount - meaning an interest charge later on because the full statement wasn't cleared. Why the heck would I make a payment less than the statement amount? I wouldn't (during my monthly budget evening). Has to be a bug. Never typed a single number. I have no way to prove this unfortunately - as I can't find a record of what options were used to populate the payment field. But I'm almost positive I did the same exact thing I do every month (pay the statement balance) - and somehow now I have an interest charge. I blame the app. I suspect either it populated the wrong value - or did something funky with payment application. I'm up a creek without a paddle though. No recourse. No notice from capital one either - I would have never even seen the interest charge had I not been going through my statement charges. It's almost like they hope this happens. I'm careful as can be. I'm frustrated - I feel I was either misled by bad UI, or there was a bug in the statement value.

And another update:
They continually try to funnel you back into the capital one app at every chance they get. The most recent one is the card not being able to be added to the Apple Watch without doing it through the Cap One App. It errors out every time doing it through Watch Wallet - where my 7 other cards had zero issue. Incredibly frustrating. Called Cap One Support - and their suggestion ? Reset the apple watch. Reset the whole apple watch ! Ha. No. I will just use my Amex and Discover card, and leave the Capital One off the watch. Come on Cap One - you can do better. I never have these issues with any other financial provider… Just buggy.

Capital One Mobile Great App!

This is the first time I ever rated anything, (and it is sincerely the first time I have ever rated anything).

From what came about from your past App and what is happening now, is a great thing. The different structure, the convenience, and the information that is available to the consumer is fantastic.

As most of you might think, I am trying to pull something out of capital one's butt to get my credit score lower (at least that is what I would think). that lower or whatever lower, etc. but that is not the case.

Like I said before, never rated anything before and probably will not do it again; no idea. I can see your guys took some time in developing the structure behind the application of your format. It finally does what it is supposed to do; let me know my information, let me know what is available, and let me know what the next step is to do.

I like the instant notifications, the notifications, and overall having you watch over my credit card(s). As well as, basically keeping a babysitter's eye on my credit transactions. The one and only time that I would enjoy and invite a babysitter.

If anybody disagrees with me that they would not like to have a credit monitor system/advisor Watch over their plastic, they really need to rethink their situation.

If my bank, which is a very large bank, don't want to say the name, US Bank, has little to do with the tiny customer that has only a couple hundred million dollars in their account.

Without getting sidetracked. I just want to say one more time; what a great application this is for those of us who have Capital One credit cards.

Great job, keep doing what you're doing.

Peace

I believe the different set-up that you guys have had has been a little obsolete. But now, from what I can see; you have taken the next step into "the next generation."

I like the fingerprint notification and the second notification to ID your card members. What seems to speed out and get into the next generation is the fingerprint ID or the second option you have as far as drawing some tab mind to determine your security.

Nevertheless, I am not one to get all high and up about a new credit card app, but as far as you guys are concerned and in relation to my credit cards which I have three, capital one has out done themselves.

Please keep up the good job on letting us watch our transactions, see what is transpiring, able to send us alerts, and basically-knowing where our money is going to. Keep up the great work capital one.

Capital One Mobile Unreliable

I had capital one for a long time and really liked them. I had some personal issues that made me fall behind on some payments on the 2 accounts I had with them. Once my situation got better, I logged in to make a payment that was $300-$500, I can’t remember the extract amount, by when I slide the icon to confirm the payment I got a notification that said “looks like we hit a snag”
I got worried but then didn’t follow up since I got an email notification of the payment. Few days later I checked and noticed that the payment hadn’t posted on my account and then when I checked back on the app, I realized my account had been closed and when I called they said because my payment was returned. So last year, I had my last account and did the SAME THING, made a $500 payment, and guess what!? I got the same notification and still got an email confirmation of the payment. So I call capital one to let them know what had happened and explained that the same thing happened to my other account the year prior and I wanted them to check to make sure the payment was submitted with no problem. They told me everything looked good. I kept checking my bank account and called in to capital one everyday to keep checking and they said it looked like it was being processed. I kept telling them I did not see anything on my bank account activity so they told me I’d have to call my bank. So I do that, they said they cannot see the transaction, so I call capital one and they tell me that it sometimes takes a couple days. And what do you know after all those days...they close my account because the payment was “returned because of no funds” when I call them and ask them to explain how I kept calling on a daily to make sure there was no Issue and they kept b.s’ing me that there was no issues, they just kept saying sorry I have to call my bank. When I did call my bank they said they never received that transaction and if indeed I did NOT have funds they would have charged me an overdraft fee. But I DID have funds and Capital one did not process the transaction properly. So I have 2 accounts in collections because they couldn’t figure out what their issue was. This app has been horrible or it might just be home they manage their app
I’ve scheduled payments to try and pay this last account off and I still have the same issue ..some payments will process while others will be returned and then capital one will be charging late fees and “returned” fees. They are just trying to steal from their customers

Capital One Mobile Love it

Best for people to sither build decent credit or have excellent credit so the tools utilized they the monitoring your avaerage score is updated and as accurate as it gets per the Credit Bearros as I’d you pulled it form a monitoring program but even this apps partner app shows why, what effects financials and how the industry works. Got it as a reward once I got into the inherited 800 club so I ensure even though I can only make auto payments ( another non paid for or I have even read you have up to certain amount of days to pay well I know life is cray but if u know how to make a good honest hustle and invest right then this is definitely one card u will also need for the sole feature of no foreign transaction fees when that summer reward really comes but in al seriousness I would show pics but oh yeah thier Fruad Dept. Which a lot of the big banks don’t have a dedicated fraud investigation team or city or building is on top of stuff. They have saved me a lot of dinero so that’s why u should tip well, donate to the struggling like myself a few years back b4 college and hedge funds and this card U swear u wil never need a wallet knife this thing is the thickest metal card that I love partially for the design reason as well. Not platinum yet but I’ll take a chipped gold and blue travel card with rewards any day. Capitol is where it’s at.App , nothing but biometrics so no ones getting anything unless hack Capitol somehow plus my TriBand VPNs and all this for no APR if u pay on time in full . I don’t get it America a debt is a debt , just wait till it stacks, think someone’s gonna take care of it or it won’t catch up after u file Ch11, I’ve seen happy bankrupted people but hen u r down to the main component of lending without a high apr that if u continue to just blast the plastic sill catch up until u better marry rich or be working at Minimim Wage unqualified for that 1 berm studio in the worst or of down then how can we live as a society . The app runs it down great why and what and reason I g for Afinacial Institutions , not a Right Wing Shmuck fan but Capitol One I would go apply too if the right fund manager position came along and that just means I have worked hard to get wheee I’m at and Pasadera student loans off , worked full time and even had a home business making Jewelry throughout so I was grinding for years cuz I had no history it only started when Mom co-signed for apartment at 17 , from there on out you best find a way not to get evicted , have past due rent reported. But we do and we will and that’s why rheees the 32ns % t hats me not near the 1 but way above struggling to eat.

Capital One Mobile Quicksilver and SavorOne csrds my opinion

They are great cards and when you first get them after six payments, they double your balance however, I have had one of these cards now for two years and the balance is only went up to around $2000 but I have never missed a payment and usually pay everything in full every month however they have not given me another credit increase without trying to ask and for some reason when I asked what he did and I mean which is weird, considering my credit is in the high sevens when I first got one of the cards from them it was a big silver platinum card or cab long platinum. The balance is only like $300. Then I went to 500 and then they told me to upgrade to the quicksilver that I have now and then I also became eligible for the savor one and now I would only need the venture card I believe but when I did apply for a card, it said I had to run your capital one cards. I’m sorry that I use your checking by the way, there’s a bunch of money in my checking and always has been. And then my quicksilver is over two years old now but I still have a smaller balance on it in my saver one card even though I’ve made every payment on time everything they still have only giving me a small increase on my car as I believe it was a $300 increase from 500 so now it’s only a $800 card, which is nothing my advice you you are the card and need to build that balance make all your payments on time and you’ll have a big balance and if you have no credit or bad credit, please apply they will give you either a security guard or regular card. I know this because I know people that I’ve had them. And that will help you get to the credit and get to the point where I’m at regardless of that though capital one is amazing they give you about 3% cash back with the saver one on certain things otherwise it’s always at least one percent with quicksilver and with this everyone card every purchase is one percent some 2% depending on what it is with than this 3% on certain items that’s the most so you will get a couple dollars back for spending money however the quicksilver card only gives you one percent back unless it’s on the shopping list at the bottom like StockX Nike Home Depot, etc. etc. those places if you read the print at the bottom of your app it tells you that those pay way more like 4%, 5%, 7% 3% all depending on what it is summer 1% like stock X was four or 5% and now it’s only 1% for some reason on my page which I do not like regardless my review over the cards does that get them? They’re not bad cards to have make your payments on time and they will give you a credit increase as big as they can. God bless. This review was done by…Nicholas S

Capital One Mobile Read for info

So someone who i considered my brother, asked me to cash his check for him. unknown to me that check has already been cashed, and than he dissapeared. Long story short, capital one banking didnt lose any money, i always paid my overdraft fees and balances. after almost two years they terminated my banking relationship, but wait ..

I also had two credit cards with them. one a 1000$ secured card, and the other a unsecured 300$ walmart card. Now for 22 months in a row i made all the monthly minimum payments. extra payments wouldnt clear because this is right at the start of covid, now i had jobs, and i was self employed, so every friday i would drop anywhere from 200.00$ - 400.00$ cash into capital one bank and pay my credit card.

Here's the kicker tho, unbeknownest to them, i was gang assualted and thrown out a moving car, i had T.B.I. and was in a coma for 17 days. I survived.

The reason i say that is because i sometimes forget things now and my memory isnt as good as it use to be.
So, i say that because the times my card got stolen or a fraud case was reported, it couldve been because of my Trumatic Brain Injury, that i didnt remember something or that i lost my card. I also live in the worst state in America

All in all, customer service is okay, not really tho because, but also theyre app is amazing looking, theyre different teams help you out okay, but all in all im disgusted that i had a credit with them for almost 3 years and the other one going on two years and they closed them both out..

Now me being the the strong, nerdy man i am, i researched everything i could, and i tried to work out something with them as a show of goodwill towards a customer from a bank, thats worth 386.8 Million Dollars $$ of total assests.
You know a show of goodwill by a bank shows they are willing to work with customer, especially a customer who paid 22 months in a row on one credit card, almost 12 months straight on theyre second card, & always paid any overdraft balances even when they shut me out i still paid everything i owed to them

I just think its very self centered, and they dont care about another customers credit score and what theyre credit cards are doing for it, & what might happen if they close all my accounts when i have stolen anything, IE; writing bad checks to other businesses or causing the bank to lose any money. they decimated my scores. i also lost my favorite checking account. and now im stuck in the sand cause of covids, lasting effects, and the state of the world which they didnt factor in at all, to me it sounded like it was a room full of customer service reps, who got told they got the job where they needed to get rid of people who may have extuenating circumstances but dont look just look for money
Thank you Capital One for absolutely N.O.T.H.I.N.G

Capital One Mobile Useless Terrible App!

I had to download this app because I had a Walmart credit card which originally used Synchrony Bank which I could make my credit card payments and check on everything through the Walmart app alone. Then, Walmart decided to switch banks and go to Capitol One and drop Synchrony. First, wasn’t informed that I needed to download this separate app just to see and pay my Walmart credit card, second, I had multiple problems downloading the app, third, once I finally got the app downloaded, I setup my continuing payment plan through my bank so that the money would come out automatically to make my monthly payments. That’s when all the problems started. I was charged a late fee, for reasons I don’t understand, unless there was a communication problem between Capitol One and my bank approving them and taking out the money one time by the due date. So, I called and got some foreign man from their customer service that I couldn’t understand and had to ask him if I could have the late charge removed because it wasn’t my fault, after he talked to his manager, it was allowed because it was a first time fault. The next month, I was charged another late fee. I called and asked them why I was again charged a late fee of $39 and was told that I didn’t put my card on minimum payment due, but I put it on a set amount to pay each month, which was the same as I paid through Synchrony Bank. I was told that I should’ve put more money down than I did, because with the finance charge, I didn’t pay enough for the minimum monthly due, which I had no idea on this app because it doesn’t inform me if I’m paying enough to cover the minimum due or not. After an hour on the phone and talking to the manager, I finally got the late payment taken off again. Then, comes last month, where I was again charged a late payment. So I again called to find out why, which I told that when I changed my monthly amount due to a higher amount that I had canceled the original payment due to pay a higher monthly amount and it showed that I only canceled my monthly payment but didn’t show that I changed the amount to a different amount. So again asked to speak to a manager, who said no amount was taken out because of this, and I was told this time I can’t get the $39 late fee removed because they already helped me twice before! I was furious! I paid more money on my account in good faith, but this stupid app was so screwed up, it caused my payment not to go through and charged me a late fee! I pride myself in having an Excellent credit rating, and was advised that this wouldn’t hurt my credit score because it wasn’t 30 days late. I told them, but because of your app, I had to pay an unnecessary late fee of $39, which means it will take me longer to pay off this card in the long run. Plus, I had to download this separate app to see my credit payments and history and I’m now being charged a higher finance rate than when I went through Synchrony Bank and only had to use the Walmart app to see everything and pay a reasonable rate and had no problems whatsoever! I think CapitalOne should get it together with Walmart and make it so their customers don’t have to use two apps to see their credit card information!

Capital One Mobile Didn’t even get to use

I got a new credit card and intended on using this app to secure purchases to the best of my ability.
Apparently, I downloaded it earlier, so I just re- downloaded and followed onscreen instructions. I entered my name, social security( wish I never did that) and birthdate. The company assures me this is correct procedure. But when it came time to “ find me” it said there was nothing there… I kind of can’t exactly remember the words. Meantime, I am speaking to Capital One personnel on my phone while I’m doing this.

Below, there was a request in blue to activate card, which was already done. The rep and I were both confused. So, we decided to push the activation note. It took me back to the original screen to enter name, SSID and birthdate. I noted to the rep that I wasn’t sure about the accuracy of my social security number I entered but now, instead of the option to “ see” what I entered, there was a lock. Again, the rep and I were confused. So, at this point I deleted the SSID and redid it and pushed find me.

Up pops a warning from “ Apple “ that says a Trojan horse virus has infected my computer ( iPad). There is a voice telling me to immediately call the number on the screen. I talked with Capitol One rep here as we were caught off guard, and I called the number. Of course it was a scam. An elaborate one that “ looked” formal. They wanted $200 to fix my computer. I blew up at this and for some reason began to see it as a scam. I tried to delete the screen while on the phone to the scammer to no avail. The words on the screen said not to shut down, so of course I admonished the scammer saying I wouldn’t pay and they warned it would cost more in 72 hours. I hung up and shut my iPad down.

This cleared it, but later there was a screen in my browser showing it still there, so I just x’ed that one out and it was gone.

After calling Apple and taking the time to check for problems, I came back to Capitol One and told another rep the whole story, was transferred to another rep that finally told me that as long as I didn’t let the scammers control my screen I was likely okay. My son asked me who told me the number for Apple. I said Capitol One person. He blew up saying I had to be sure that wasn’t a scam, so I found the number and he did verify it to be truly Apple. Good thing because he DID look at my screen by sharing. I started to get really scared about now. All this because I had to get a new card because of fraudulent charges.

Transferred to yet another rep in tech, I was finally told that I have a shared credit card account with my wife and I was not the primary account holder. So, that is why the app ( what this is all about) kicked me out and didn’t recognize me. This would have to be done by my spouse. Well, she will not do it. She is much more distrustful of things like this.

So, for me, I was hacked and scammed and phished, to me, from within the app or at least trying to get it to work in my benefit. The results were REALLY scary. AND I’m not completely and absolutely sure it’s all okay. After more reading, I’m fairly certain I’m secure now. For your information, if you are on a phone or pad, these types of viruses really aren’t effective. BUT DON’T LET POSSIBLE SCAMMERS SHARE YOUR SCREEN. THATS WHAT THEY ARE REALLY AFTER. If they can’t do that you are probably okay. Just get rid of them

As a last effort to be fair I want to say this may have not come from or within the Capitol One app. It happened while I was trying to set it up. It may be someone trying to hack into my iPad. I’m not clear on that.

I will not use the Capitol One app though. My son uses it successfully. It can create virtual numbers for each purchase to provide a second level of protection from these horrible people that crave on good hard working people. I hope they are caught or strangled out of systems at least. For us, we will be extremely careful now that passwords are up to date and hard ones. Using our Social Security numbers cannot be avoided in our world unfortunately but, I’m going to try to use mine as little as possible, including using this app. You may like it. That’s fine. For us, I don’t have to be burned twice. It was a horrible week. I was transferred from company to company, from department to department. Not fun. But in the end I remember THESE are good people working to try to keep us safe. I don’t want you to forget that.

Capital One Mobile Business owner

I've had my fair share of credit cards over the years and I have two cap one cards(per/bus). The only thing I would like is if they would review my status for a higher limit or lower interest more often. Other than that these cards have been hands down the best credit cards I've used. I've had WELLS FARGO rewards and did bank with them since 95 until I couldn't stand them anymore. they gave me a $25 gift card and a card for one free specialty coffee for 4 years of consistent use. In 1/4 the time I had the wells card and the same spending budget with cap one, I drew over 2k usable dollars in rewards from cap one!wells was an insult compared to this. Cap one has given/forgiven purchases with one easy call and without any issues AND the customer service that helped went ABOVE and beyond(without being transferred multiple times)to help me out and find the best way for me to get the most value. I was blown away and it was the same sincere help the second time using my rewards...from that point on I vowed to get rid of other cards and use cap one exclusively. I've recommend cap one to family and friends. They even caught a small fraud charge I overlooked and handled it with NO STRESS or effort on my part. The horrible experiences(numerous) I've had with American Express and others with false or
Misleading offers, "cash back"(...with extremely fine print and heavy limitations), heavy hidden and complicated fees designed to confuse, then "accidentally" extending my limit (20x the credit limit I was told! )then accidentally issuing my girlfriend a $25k credit limit credit card instead of the simple entrance costco card(without her even filling out a credit app)Supposed to be a simple entrance member card,no credit card. This all happened while I was In the process of trying to qualify for a commercial property loan(!), imagine the stress and hours spent unwinding what they caused. then after setting up auto pay over the phone they never sent a bill for 3months then contacted me via email to cut my limit to 1/3 of the actual limit, then jacked my rate to 27.9%(with excellent credit) in the process due to a "mistake" they admitted to making (and after months of calls, they admitted and "corrected" by only bringing my interest down 8%, and "waving" a non-existent late fee that was set up through them on auto pay. They even had all my bank info they pulled the false "late fee" from. Unbelievable! The interest was still almost double what they promised when setup! ENDLESS hours on the phone with awful cust. Serv reps(except one lady who was very apologetic and nice but powerless to correct their mistakes). Experiencing these other cards has made me a long term customer of cap one (6+years) but also a happy and long term client(as long as it stays the same). One last thing I like that cap one did and didn't even charge extra for was the free credit tracker. Good looking out for their customers on that one little but important gesture. I used to pay 10-15$ a month for the same exact service of score and scenarios. That alone shows that cap one is a good company that cares about their customers. American Express almost raped my credit score through endless mistakes and no accountability(fortunately I was able to switch companies before they did any damage). Same sub par service with Bank of Americas and mastercards "rewards toward a new Cadillac" cards. Funny thing about MasterCard is I barely made any points over years and a good amount spent until I realized I was paying more for the annual fee then I was earning towards the car, then when I went to close it they offered me the same amount of points that took me years to earn to stay, and it still wouldn't of been any more of a discount on a new car then I could of got myself through 10 minutes of negotiation.
If I absolutely had to find something negative to say about cap one I would say they need to keep the app running sharp ALL the time when dealing with people's money, deadlines and bills. In the beginning the app stalled every so often when I needed it not to. Since then they have definitely put some TLC into it and kept it simplistic and easy to use so those old issues don't really seem to occur anymore so I can't complain. Not too many companies I feel comfortable with the fees they charge for the service they provide...cap one is one I'm comfortable with the cost I pay for the value I get from them! Which says a lot when talking credit cards and interest!

Capital One Mobile Horrible

Ok. So let me make this perfectly clear...I hate CapitalOne. What a worthless company and the app is equally bad. Let me explain. First part will be about my experience with this pathetic company and the end will be about their lousy app that is confusing and poorly managed.

I own an automotive repair shop and have been in business for 13 years. I generate a substantial amount of money each year and clear 6 figures. My credit score is well into the 750’s and it’s literally perfect. No late payments, no derogatory’s, no judgement’s, delinquencies and no foul ups since the day I got my first credit card more then 20 years ago. I am responsible with my obligations and this crack company called CapitalOne is a JOKE!

They bait and switch and I would love the opportunity to sue them for lying and fraud. Let me explain. I wanted to get another credit card for my company so I had a way to float money, gain points/benefits/cashback and work my capital that way. I applied and instantly got an approval at a laughable $1000 credit limit. Yes you heard that right. $1000 max credit limit for a company with a perfect credit score of over 800 and a personal credit score of 750+. I accepted and got the card. I figured maybe it was because I was new with CapitalOne and following their rules for credit line increase after the first 3 months would prove to increase substantially.

So I used the card a few times and got it up to about 50% credit to debt ratio. Their payments were $35 per month and I was making double and sometimes triple payments and then buying more to keep it leveraged at 50% or lower on credit to debt ratio following exactly their requirements to gain a line increase. Guess what...NO LINE INCREASE. So I called CapitalOne fuming mad why I haven’t seen the line increase. This Indian sounding guy who could barely speak a word of English properly told me I would not be receiving a line increase because I wasn’t making enough payments in the car and I didn’t keep a high enough balance. Told me I wasn’t being responsible with the card and CapitalOne rejected me for a Line Of Credit increase! After swearing at him a bit from anger I told him to justify his statement when I was never late and made 2 to 3 times the required monthly payment? He couldn’t.

CapitalOne is a Joke. Better off going with Chase Bank and Discover. $22,800 line of credit, $33,200 line of credit. Hell...even my PayPal MasterCard and PCN Core cards have lines of credit well above the $5000 mark.

My advise to everyone is steer clear of CapitalOne. They are liars, frauds and deceitful in my opinion. They bait and switch you. I have not used the car since and it will remain a dead card. I won’t close it because that will injure my credit but I will use it like toilet paper and flush it down the sewer where it belongs.

Now onto their app. You can obviously tell it was designed by someone who writes with crayons and goes to bed with a helmet on their head. The functionality is nearly as frustrating as dealing with CapitalOne directly. There are no open tabs, the menu functionality is hidden in another feather of the app that you can’t find until you navigate through other tabs, it limits you to a handful (literally 5-6) transactions and that’s it. You can’t see previous history or anything and there’s no tab to. There is no info tab or update screen; and I mean it’s just nonexistent. There is no thought whatsoever into this app. It is so basic and so plain that if I knew it ahead of time I would not have opened an account with them based on that alone. There is a tab to see statement details but you have to go through 4 other tabs first before finding it and then the only thing it shows is the words statement balance showing the same thing the front screen does. Literally no information on it and no other tabs. Seriously? Oh and making a payment is EXCRUCIATINGLY difficult. I’m sure it’s designed that way to cause you to miss a payment in my opinion. It’s deceptive just like CapitalOne. Overall that app is garbage...CapitalOne is garbage and everything about my experience with CapitalOne is GARBAGE!

Do yourself a favor and don’t apply. They aren’t worth the head ache and hassle and frustration you WILL go through with this joke of a company.

I LOVE CHASE VISA for both business and personal
I LOVE DISCOVER MASTERCARD for both business and personal
I LOVE PNC VISA for both business and personal
Hell...even my American Express business is better then CapitalOne.

So take my advise and just leave CapitalOne alone.

Capital One Mobile Capital Ones fraud protection isn't to protect you. What's in your wallet? Nothing

Despite all factors to indicate, ultimately foreshadowing my experience as well, that Capital One did not care about people's lives when having to chose between saving a life and making a dollar, became ultimately clear when I needed protection and help from the bank I trusted. Instead, they laughed, mocked me, and placed froze all my accounts. Subsequently, every extrenal bank account connected with my capital one accounts were also frozen for capital one reached out to them as well. A little background into my banking experience with them before this incident with them - it wasn't easy for a loyal customer as myself. I live in San Antonio TX. They shut down every branch in my city. ALL branches (about 6). The abandoned buildings are still there. This made it extremely hard, and unnecessarily difficult to be a customer that required certain banking features that weren't offered anymore... Like having the opportunity to put money in your account immediately, at anytime to access your money in your account for any reason or life and death situation. That being bad enough, they also removed every atm in San Antonio, which is one of the top ten largest city by population in the US. I called and asked why they did this and they said, well in the business aspects it doesn't make sense to have full branch which costs millions to operate, and spend hundreds of thousands to hire employees and support their families with benefits when they can get rid of employees and building by opening a small coffee shop with an atm that does all the services as a regular banker and if u need help the bartista or coffee guys (approximately 2 employees per "branch") can first offer a refreshing beverage and then help you with your banking needs. Talking to the customer service guy about this didnt raise any red flags but thinking back, it probably should have when he quoted fight club with saying that you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet. Yeahhhhhhh... Even then I was capital ones unofficial spokes person, loving the services I could use and getting so many of my friends to sign up and that was with zero refferal bonuses. I did it because I believed in them at one point that they cared for my well being, if not as a customer at least a human being. During this time I had a partime job as a bartender which did wedding events. Alot of cash tips along with my checks. My checks were deposited abd/or direct deposited depending on the event and bonuses. For my cash I either had my friend as middle man who a gave cash too and he cashapp the money to me in which I transferred to capital one or I drove to the nearest capital one atm with was in a city an hour away from me. This was a total inconvenience to me obviously but I stay loyal. Then I ended up going throw hard times and was unemployed. I sold Alot of things on offer up and various platforms to remain afloat during this Transition and I was doing okay until I ended up being ripped off by a bad check from a person who bought a big ticket item for a couple grand. I've deposited large checks before thought-out the years with no problems but this check was taking longer than expected so I called, after taking to various employees I was transferred to this lady who informed me that the check was fraud. They wouldn't go into much more detail but this was the first time this happened to me. I said" oh my God okay what do we do?" That's when she laughed at me. She said "We" are not going to do anything, but capital one was going to close all my accounts and IRA and savings accounts and they were going to ban me from banking or using their services indefinitely. I was in shock and didn't know what to do. And the two external banks accounts I had remaining with money in them were also frozen because I had weekly automatic transfers that tried to pull from capital one during this process which caused them to be notified and were froze. After trying to call them and beg them for and to look into this and I've never had this happen before I've been a good customer - they didn't help me. They let me fall. They let my community fall. Apparently the account that was stolen was my neighbors. Police report were made and we figured out that someone was stealing from our mailboxs both outgoing and incoming and were using all our information and mixing them. Unrelated but hurt me also were my eBay going shipments, packages sold to customers were also stolen during that time as well which hurt my online business. Over $20,000 were stolen from our community and capital one want a part in stopping it or helping me because the cost didn't justify helping the customer when the customer is replaceable. Luckily Stash, one of my external bank frozen at the time, responded to my emails and actual reopened my accounts which them an did their to best to help me. Even though the letter they receive suggested not too and that I was a high risk, they did it carefully and they helped me. A least I had a bank account but it took a couple weeks but still I appreciate Stash because it really didn't benefit them to go out of their way. Needless to say that still lost my home. I was literally homeless with a bank account frozen with a card I could do much with even if it wasn't. They didn't care. What makes it wrose is that they taunt you and pick on your mentally as well with emails and text messages. Like the email will say, do you need a home? Get a mortgage loan with us now or saying you haven't been online for a while, check out balance here. Of I don't but then they'll text me saying that I have zero in my accounts but I try to log on its closed and my blocked from.creating another one. So what's in your wallet? Not much but I'll be okay. I'm rebuilding without you capital one but I have support by the companies you trashed talked me to. Capital One is good if you don't care about peace of mind that your family/community is safe when they become a victim and theyve been violated.

Capital One Mobile Not happy

I never had an issue with this app until recently. It tells me I must update the app and takes me to the App Store to update. Fine and dandy, but my app is up to date and does not give me an option to update, just open the app. So I push open and this repeats in an evil cycle. I then look for answers in the app support, and guess what, there is none without calling their customer service who has nothing to do with tech support. I'm not happy and capital one needs to get this fixed or I might have to delete the app and account permanently.

Capital One Mobile Frustrated

I downloaded this app for the purpose of paying my monthly auto bill. Since I downloaded it I have only been able to use the app one time to make the payment. The remember me function for the passwords does not work. It’s very difficult for me to keep the information straight. When I use the forgot password function, it locks me out for too many sign in attempts. To get it unlocked I have to call and wait on hold forever. Wasting all this time defeats the purpose of using a mobile app. I end up calling in and making my payment by phone anyway.

Capital One Mobile Always unstable, unfinished and bug infested

I had a problems opening my account. You hit submit and see page markup with cryptic error message instead of result.

Now a year ago my CD matured. Lets start with the fact that mobile App does not support maturity options. Way to go bank which brags about its mobile app. If you go to web you get stuck in accept closing account page or get kicked out to auth when you hit Accept.

Sometimes I think I am the only customer. Otherwise it should be fixed by now. Or do they practice Agile? It would explain why everything is broken and no-one is responsible

4.7 stars is a joke. Total plant of fake reviews.

No running balance per transaction (Chase Bank does), no image of the cancelled checks (Chase Bank does), no ability to send feedback in dark mode (c’mon). If it was easy I would put all accounts into Chase but c’mon capital one, this app has not added these “mandatory” features that I have been asking for years.

You already have the information. Just add these features into the app for minimal acceptance.

What is the value of mobile “bank” app if no way to see the cancelled checks images and running totals?

Capital One Mobile Frustrated

First time using the App and what I thought was going to be a fast and easy 4 step process turned out to be a slow and frustrating process. After downloading the App, I was told to verify my identity(which I did, repeatedly until I received a message about “unusual activity”). I never made it pass step 2. I never was prompted to create a user name and password, even after clicking on the link multiple times. Each time I clicked something I was asked to verify my identity. I had to call over the phone for activation, however, still no Mobile App help. Help Me!

Capital One Mobile Can’t deposit state-issued checks

For the past two months, I have found myself unable to deposit paychecks issued by the State of California via the Capital One mobile app. The check deposit function says it “cannot read the numbers along the bottom of the check” even when the picture is perfectly clear and taken in good lighting. Prior to this, I had issues depositing these checks, but they would go through eventually. The check format is not entirely standard, but I cannot imagine it is rare enough that it should cause these issues, given how many people are employed by the state of California.

Capital One Mobile Hate it

The app worked great! Up until I activated my card and every time I log in, it says “problem connecting. Please check your network and try again” I’ve tried everything to get this app to work. I’ve deleted it and re installed it multiple times, and it still says the same thing. I’ve tried the website and that won’t even let me log in, it tries to go through and sends me right back to the sign in page. I’ve tried using WiFi and no WiFi, still won’t work, I’ve turned my phone off and on multiple times, still won’t work! So somebody needs to fix it before I blow a gasket!

Capital One Mobile App Broke sometimes last month

I haven’t been able to launch the app for nearly a month. Every time I try to open it, it will display the splash screen for 5-10 seconds as if it’s loading, then it will inevitably crash. I’ve tried closing out the app and restarting, I’ve tried closing out all apps on my phone and doing a hard reset, I’ve also deleted the app and re-downloaded it several times. Nothing seems to work and the issue hasn’t corrected itself for several weeks now. Is this a hardware issue (iPhone 6, March ), software (problem started on iOS 10 and persisted onto 11), or am I just really unlucky? Is anyone else having this issue?

Capital One Mobile It's not about the app it's about my customer service

Not the app I'm reviewing or the business as an entirety, it's about one person at one branch on a particular day... I just opened my first credit account with capital one and after having a hard time setting up my online account I was worried I would miss my first payment. After I went to a branch and got everything situated I got online to make a payment to find I had missed my first payment all though the banker assured me I hadn't. I know credit is a modern computer calculated thing and no banker or even CEO can help with. Rough start to an early relationship.. she screwed me (my credit) with one small lie or lack of competence

Capital One Mobile Better unrecognizable transaction procedure

When there is a transaction that is unfamiliar it would be nice if an actual human could help out and try I get to the bottom of it besides the only option which is lock card and send a new one. Or at least a temporary lock until it is looked more into. I saw a weird transaction, contacted the company it was through and they didn’t know what it was. So I went to the app and clicked unrecognizable transaction. And the only option from there was to lock card permanently. Shortly after I did that the company came back and said they found out what it was and it was not fraud. Now I have to wait till the new card comes in to use my credit card.

Capital One Mobile Awful!

I have had nothing but issues since the day I received my card and was directed to download this app. For months I could not even log in, it told me there was an issue and to call the number they provided. When I tried to call the number I got the automated run around, no customer service. FINALLY I could log in a couple weeks ago, and nothing even shows about my card? Only my credit report and “Aloha”. When I finally got through to speak to someone regarding my issues all they had to say was “Well you can call and pay through the automated system”... okay, so what’s the point of the app then? It’s supposed to be convenient to just get on and pay with the touch of a button and see your available credit but I have never had that luxury with this app.

Capital One Mobile Something's wrong

I've had this app for a year. And so far it's been great, it's easy to find my way around it, I can easily transfer and deposit, it has everything you need to maintain your cards.

However, for a month it's been acting strange. When I launch the app, a pop up box would appear that says "Problem Connecting. Please check your network and try again." I can't exit this pop up. I check my network, I checked my other apps, and my network is running fine. But the pop up still won't disappear. Now I can't access the capital one app because of that pop up. I would delete the app, and reinstall it, now doing so allowed me to access the capital one app. However, it only lets me access it one time, and then the pop up shows up again and now I can't access the app. I don't know what's wrong, my network connection is fine. But it's getting really tiresome deleting and reinstalling the app. PLEASE FIX THIS.

Capital One Mobile App once decent is crap

Title says it all in a nutshell. The Capitol One mobile app used to be pretty decent. Lately, however, it has been riddle with grievances. The app continuously shuts down or is entirely unusable, username and password on multiple occasions have been removed and not recognizable, made payments and they FAILED to go through. I will start my own defense my saying that I have made sure the app was current/updated. I have made sure that my phone was updated, it does make a difference. I have double checked my user and password, made sure that what my phone remembers is correct, and even updated/forgot password if in dire need. The payments failing, well, my bank account has more than enough money to cover the payment. I will continue to deal with the late fee since the app doesn’t notify me that my payment failed, only when I get an email saying that my payment is late do I know what happened. I have exhausted Twitter and whatever “help” is offered. I’m tired of being labeled by the twitter and “help” team as one that only wants a way out of their late fee. Keep this up and I’ll move on from you.

Capital One Mobile Bloated. Keeps getting worse every release

Who writes this marketing drivel? “Each new version of our app includes new features.”

No, no it doesn’t. More features have been removed from this app than added.

Asleep at the wheel. App is in zombie mode.

Clearly the developers don’t use their own app.

~400Mb? The largest app of the 100+ apps on my iPhone. For what? Bloated.

If “Top Notch” means we’ve stripped out every possible feature, actively block other apps and ignore know issues (can’t sort payees), then this app is supremely “Top Notch”.

If they can’t even get the decimal point to work (or make the touch target useable) for check deposit don’t expect much.

Not sure what’s going on but app is poorly designed and keeps getting worse.

You can’t edit ANY DETAILS of a payee only delete them and start from scratch.

Also, Capital One Spark business app has gone away and a maddening experience trying to sign into their website.

They ruined ING when Capital One bought it and their app development is soooo confused. They keep removing functionality. No they’re selling off the ShareBuilder users, so that’ll be removed from the app too.

Capital One Mobile App doesn't not even load

2018-12-16 - Version 5.44.0
New update. Still doesn't work. App crashes on load.

NOTE TO DEVELOPMENT:. Go back to version 5.41.0 and review what you changed. It was working fine for me on 5.41.0

2018-11-06 - Version 5.24.0
Went for delete and reinstall. Still not a working app on my iPhone. It's the only app out of 200 installed apps on my phone that continues to give me trouble and not run

2018-11-03 - Version: 5.24.0
Still no fix. Still can't launch on iPhone 7 iOS 12.1.

app broke again...
Can't log in. Deleted the app, reinstalled. Only shows splash screen and then app crashes. Deleted app, rebooted iPhone, reinstalled app. Still not working.

So frustrating that this continues to be an issue with the bank. No other bank app I have (Chase, USAA, Schwab) have any problems like I have with Capital One app.

App finally started working again.

2018-09-18 - Version: 5.40.1

Capital One Mobile Not practical for deposit account holders

From what I hear this app and Capital One as a whole is AMAZING for credit card holders but for those that own deposit accounts this app really isn’t that useful! I’ve been banking with Capital One for years and I can honestly say I miss a lot of the features the Capital One Wallet app used to provide. I’d love the developers of this app to take their deposit account holders into consideration and add features like alerts when a deposit is made to my account as well as alerts when a transaction is made over a certain dollar amount. To be clear, when I say alerts I mean actual notifications to my device sent from the app that appear on my home screen. I don’t want to have to receive alerts via text that is so outdated plus I have enough text threads as it is between work and family. I’m beginning to feel like Capital One isn’t interested in investing in their deposit account holders now or even in the future. I believe this company is more focused and geared towards their credit and lending services. To be fair Chase not only provides these basic notification services to customers but they also have added the ability to view what you spend money on weekly to their app. I do not want to close my accounts and go over to another bank because I truly enjoy banking with Cap. One. I love everything from the customer service all the way down to the debit card design. But I have a feeling I will leave if I don’t see any changes being made.

Capital One Mobile Unresolved mobile app issue

I upgraded my mobile phone and expected a fluid transition updating my Capitol One mobile app. It was not. I can not get it to work at all. After many hours on the phone with Capitol One customer service, the issue is still unresolved. I got a different story with each new customer service rep. A supervisor took my final call and apologized that I had been "misinformed" about what the problem is---which NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT IS! I am supposed to wait 3-5 business days for someone to call me back (and let's be honest, no one is going to call me back) after I was asked to send in a photo copy of my drivers license or walk into a branch to provide a copy of my ID. There are no branches in my state! Completely ridiculous and unacceptable "customer service"! I specifically went paperless because of this mobile app and now it's been rendered completely useless. Waste of time and an infuriating experience!

*I need to add that I had an iPhone 6S Plus and my app worked flawlessly. The minute I upgraded my iPhone to a 7 Plus software version 10.3.1, the app will not work. I have updated my info, profile, uninstalled, reinstalled, changed password and did a hard reboot. I get the same error message "we hit a snag try again later." I've tried the 6 digit reset code; doesn't work. My husband has the same app on his iPhone 6 for his Capitol One card and it works just fine. What is obvious is that this is a giant failure of your app developers. The software update was released on April 3. May is half over---why is this STILL an issue?! Developers, fix this! I upgraded to advance my technology, not go backwards! UNACCEPTABLE.

I don't need to pursue this issue with the developers anymore. I will not be using social media, per your useless suggestion, to address this problem further. There are several iPhone 7 users who have reported the issue and it's still not fixed! It has been spelled out quite clearly. This problem continues to be an issue for over two months because the developers WILL NOT FIX IT FOR IPHONE 7 USERS!
