Great customer service
I talked with a representative for customer service his name was Jerry he was super great very friendly and highly professional im glad chime has someone like him to answer any questions presented to him he deserves a promotion!
The Best out there and they don't even have a real bank!
For me Chime is the best there is out there! If I need money and don't have it the over draft option saves me and mine everytime. I'm never left without and I'm never penalized for it. The "big banks" need to take from Chime and how they take care of there customers. I won't be change it any other bank, probably ever! If they had banks themselves and found a way to keep doing business the way they do, I would stay with them forever! Tell everyone I know to go with Chime! Like I said, I've never been left without when in need and flan that means something to me! Thank you Chime for doing business they way you do business. It's much appreciated!
Chime's Lack of Security Measures and Inability to Protect My Money
I recently had an experience with Chime that left me feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. Despite having my transactions turned off for both my credit builder card and my debit card, I discovered unauthorized transactions on my account. To make matters worse, I hadn't even activated my new debit card yet because I was afraid of further fraudulent activity.
I immediately filed a dispute with the Chime dispute department, hoping to get to the bottom of the situation. However, I received an email today stating that they had concluded their investigation and determined that there was no error. This news was devastating, as I had been counting on the credit of $41.95 that they had given me while they were investigating my dispute. To add insult to injury, the $41.95 was no longer in my account because I had once again been scammed for $39 by Instacart, even though my transactions were turned off and I had no active debit card.
Chime's lack of security measures and inability to protect my hard-earned money has left me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. It's clear that my money isn't safe with Chime, and I'm now forced to close my account as soon as possible. This situation has caused a great deal of stress and anxiety for my family, as we are already struggling to make ends meet.
Chime's failure to protect my account has allowed scammers to take food and shelter away from my family, and this is simply not okay. I'm now unable to make my mortgage payment because of all the money that has been stolen from my Chime account. Overall, I would not recommend Chime to anyone looking for a reliable and secure banking option.
Beware of Chime's Credit Rebuilding Program: False Advertising and Identity Verification Issues
Don't be fooled by the Credit Rebuilding Program advertised by Chime! They claim to help people improve their credit, but it's just a ploy to get you to deposit your entire paycheck into a Chime holding account. Even after they send you a Visa debit card and verify your identity, you'll be denied when you try to activate the program in the Chime App.
I complained to Chime about this issue, and they asked me to send a picture of myself holding my Driver's License and a plain piece of paper with the date written on it. I did as they asked, but the Chime App still denied me, claiming they couldn't verify my identity. Now, Chime is saying there's nothing they can do about it. This is false advertising at its finest.
Chime now has all of my money, personal information, and home phone number, and they won't even tell me what I can do to prove my identity. I'm closing my account and warning others not to sign up with these scammers.
Chime Bank Review: Terrible Customer Service and Dispute Resolution
I gotta say, my experience with Chime was not great. I had some money stolen from me by a merchant called Arcani Coil Care, and I thought Chime would have my back. Boy, was I wrong. I waited for over a month for them to file a dispute, and when they finally did, they only gave me back some of my money. What a bunch of fools!
Their customer service is useless. I mean, it's like having an ashtray on a motorcycle. They're that useless. They acted like they weren't even going to file the dispute, even though I sent them loads of photo evidence that the merchant was a thief. They told me they had to work something out with the merchant before they could file the dispute. What kind of nonsense is that?
To make matters worse, they told me I would have to wait until November 2022 before they could come to a conclusion on what to do about the dispute. I made the order I never received with this merchant on July 28th, 2022, and they expect me to wait until November? Give me a break!
And then, a few mornings ago, I received an email from Chime "support" (and I use that term loosely) telling me they won't give me all of my money back. Can you believe that? They said I don't deserve to have the rest of my money back, even though I sent them evidence to support my case. It's just appalling how incompetent these people are.
So, my advice to you is this: DON'T BANK WITH CHIME! They're a bunch of fools who don't care about their customers. If you want a bank that actually cares about you, go somewhere else. Trust me, you'll be better off.
Chime Review: False Promises, System Problems, and Lack of Security
I was really excited to sign up for Chime because they promised that I would get my check two days early. But let me tell you, that was a total lie! I've been waiting for my early check for a while now, and I even checked my job account to see if it had posted. It clearly showed that it had, but when I contacted Chime, they told me something completely different. They even tried to blame it on my job! It's ridiculous.
And don't even get me started on their system problems. Some days, they'll send you an email saying that something has changed in your direct deposit, and it'll scare you half to death. I even had my card canceled because someone called in on my behalf and said that it was used unauthorized. It wasn't me, and I was trying to see if someone was trying to hack my account. But the Chime representative told me to get off the phone and make a request on the app. I don't understand why I would do that, especially since I was on the phone with them already. If I got off the phone, I would have to wait until they got my request to tell me what was going on. By that time, whoever was trying to get into my account would have already taken my money.
And to make matters worse, Chime is just not secure. I asked the representative where the call came from, and he couldn't tell me anything at all. It's like they're just a front to get you to sign up. I'm telling you, don't do it!
Unreliable and Untrustworthy: My Experience with Chime Fintech
I've been using Chime for a while now, and I have to say, it's not the best fintech out there. I tried Moneylion before, and they were much better. The biggest issue I had with Chime was that I just couldn't trust them.
I kept my account with them for 6 months before finally moving everything to Chase. The first 2 months with Chime were great. Deposits were on time, and everything seemed to be working fine. But then, over the summer, their system crashed. I tried to access the app, but it was down. I couldn't make any deposits, and my card wouldn't work. I had no access to my money for 2 days. Luckily, I had some money in my Chase account to cover me. If I didn't, I would have been in big trouble.
Then, to make matters worse, my card got hacked. Someone charged $250 to it. I submitted a claim with Chime, but it took them 90 days to get my money back. Most banks would have done it instantly.
On top of all that, my direct deposits started coming in later and later. They used to come in like clockwork at 10 pm every other Wednesday. But then they started coming in at midnight, then Thursday morning, then Thursday afternoon, and then Friday night. Eventually, I started getting them days late. I talked to other people I work with, and their banks always had their direct deposits on time. So I know it wasn't a payroll issue like Chime said.
To make matters worse, their app looks and feels like it was designed by a 5-year-old. It's not user-friendly at all. And you can't easily transfer money to people like they advertise.
Overall, I would say try Chime at your own risk. Just make sure you have a standard bank account with some money in it as a backup plan. Because Chime is not reliable.
Chime Bank Review: Beware of Fraud and Denial of Claims - Stay Away from Chime!
I had an account with Chime, and I was using it for my direct deposit from my employer. I was working a lot of overtime at the time, and I was happy to have a bank that was easy to use and had no fees. However, one day I got my paycheck DD, and hours later my account was drained. It was almost like they knew I got paid that day because they were keeping track of my account. I was devastated because I had bills to pay and no money to pay them with.
I immediately made a claim with Chime, and they promised me that it would be taken care of with no issues because it was obviously fraud. However, the day after I made the claim, I received a denial of my claim. I was shocked because I never even had a chance to send in my forms or paperwork! They automatically denied it. I fought it tooth and nail, but they still denied my claim.
So, what did Chime do? They closed out my account and savings for no reason! I still have not received a penny from them, and they do not care at all that they screwed me over. This is a horrid bank and company, and I highly recommend staying away from Chime at all costs! After all of this, I did some research online, and it turns out they've pulled this kind of crap on a lot of other people as well. Numerous others have had almost an identical situation to mine. And none were covered. All were denied their claims, and many also had their accounts closed when they tried to have the situation dealt with. Beware of Chime! Stay away from Chime!
Chime Bank Review: Locked Out of My Account for a Month with No Help in Sight
So, I had an experience with Chime recently and let me tell you, it was not a good one. About a month ago, I got an email from them asking for some information about my account. They said there was some suspicious activity going on and they needed a response within 5 days or they might suspend my account. Now, I've been with Chime for years, so I didn't really take it seriously. But boy was I wrong.
They actually did lock me out of my account until I provided the requested information. And let me tell you, they asked for a lot of stuff - driver's license, social security card, utility bill, deposit information, and more. So, I provided all of that, but they still didn't unlock my account. When I tried to call, I couldn't talk to anyone who could help me. The customer service team told me I had to talk to the Support team, but I could only do that by email. And then, I had to wait another 24 to 48 hours for them to respond. And when they did respond, it was just the same automated email asking for more information.
It's been almost a month now, and I'm still locked out of my account. They've gotten all the information they asked for, and I have the emails to prove it. But they still haven't released my account. It's frustrating, to say the least.
So, if you're thinking about opening an online account with Chime, I would advise against it. And if you're already with Chime, you might want to consider moving your money to another bank before it's too late. Trust me, you don't want to end up like me.
Chime Review: Unreliable Referral Program and Frustrating Customer Support
Chime is a company that offers a lot of different services, but they seem to be constantly changing their policies and rules. One of the things that they offer is a referral program, where you can get $100 or $150 for referring friends to them. However, I have had some issues with this program. I referred a friend and she didn't get the money, and neither did I. I referred another friend and the same thing happened. They always have some excuse for why they can't give you the money, and it's really frustrating.
Another issue that I have had with Chime is that they hold deposits for a few days. I have had deposits from my business that have taken a while to show up in my account, and I wonder who is using my money during that time. It's really frustrating, and I don't feel like I can trust them.
Their support team is also not very helpful. I have emailed them with questions or concerns, and they don't seem to read my emails properly. They will answer back with some question that has nothing to do with what I asked them to do. It's really frustrating, and I don't feel like they are very competent.
One of the biggest issues that I have with Chime is that there is no physical location where you can go and talk to someone. They are based in California, and half of their agents are from another country. I don't have a problem with that, but sometimes it's hard to understand them. Overall, I would be very careful with Chime. They seem to be constantly changing their policies and rules, and their support team is not very helpful.
Chime Review: False Advertising, Fraudulent Charges, and Terrible Customer Service
Chime, oh boy, where do I even begin? Let me tell you, their CEO talks a big game about being customer-centric, but my recent experience with them proved otherwise. My fianc?e booked a hotel through Hotwire, but forgot to mention the additional $100 room deposit. Next thing we know, Chime takes out $52.75 from our account without warning. We reached out to the hotel's manager and general manager, who provided written documentation that we never even received the room. In fact, it was their employee who canceled the reservation due to Hotwire's shady advertising practices. The hotel manager even gave her contact information so Chime's disputes department and their so-called "investigation team" could get in touch with her.
Now, here's where things get really frustrating. Chime claims on their website to honor Visa's "0 consumer liability," but that's a load of bull. When we requested an immediate refund for fraudulent charges (i.e. money taken for services not rendered, false pricing, etc.), we were met with denial, fake apologies, and being hung up on repeatedly by their disputes department. We spent a good 20-30 minutes repeating ourselves to customer service tier 1 and 2, as well as disputes tier 1 and 2, only to be told that it's "being worked on." But let me tell you, that's just a bunch of hogwash. We weren't given the option of having a disputes manager take ownership of the issue until resolution, like 90% of call centers and business services companies do here in the US. Instead, we were left to deal with being hung up on, lied to, and even having individuals pretend to be members of upper management like operations managers and quality assurance trainers.
We did all the leg work to prove our claim was valid, should be refunded, and even sent the same information multiple times, but it seemed like our case just disappeared into thin air. It's frustrating to say the least, and it's not the kind of experience you want to have with a financial institution. So, if you're thinking about using Chime, I'd think twice. Their customer service is a joke, and their claims of being customer-centric are nothing but a blatant falsehood.
Chime Bank Review: A Terrible Experience with Crooks Who Stole My Money
Chime is a bank that I would not recommend to anyone. They are a bunch of crooks who stole $930 from me. I was scammed and I filed a dispute explaining the issue and even filed a police report, but they still denied my dispute. The same thing happened to two others who lost $864 and $1300. Chime refused to refund the money back to us. I even filed a police report, but their so-called dispute team does not care. I am left without any money and it is a terrible feeling.
I would advise anyone to think twice before getting an account with Chime. I am going with a new bank and I hope a lot of people read this. I am going to put it to Chime. They want to screw people, well, let's see how they like it when I post a review on every website I can. They are a joke and I hope someone high up from Chime sees what I am posting. I am not stopping until I get my money back.
I still have not had my money returned back to my account. They continue to stall and it is frustrating. A person used their Chime logo and provided a number for people to call with an 888 number on a website called Down Detector. People were having issues with their direct deposits. The person said his name was James from Chime Support. Naturally, I thought he was trying to help me, but that was not the case. I sent all this information to their so-called Investigation team with Chime along with a police report number. You would think that would have some red flags go off, but they confirmed it was their logo but no one would like this on a website like that. This person committed a crime of fraud. Why is there anything else to wait for?
I am still here without $930 back in my account. Instead, I get punished by Chime saying I allowed them in my account. Well, yes, I thought he was from Chime Support. I continue trying to explain this, but I am still getting the runaround. I even sent them a screenshot. So until they do the right thing and return my money, I will be posting this wherever I can. Chime is committing a crime by holding my money, especially if it is someone that used their logo. Nothing back from their Investigation team at all. It is like they went quiet.
Then I am getting this BS information that they have until 3/30 to decide if they want to issue temporary funds back to my account until resolved. This has not happened either. I would rather think about it hard. Why would anyone want to join a bank with no integrity? They have no concern whatsoever for their customers. Any other bank like Chase, Capital One, Bank of America, if this situation arises with a customer, they would have returned the money back to that customer's account and conducted a full investigation on their end to find out who this person is that used their logo.
Chime is a bunch of thieves and I can't pay any of my bills. $930 is a lot of money. Turn the other way and go with another bank that has integrity when it comes to their customers. Chime sure as hell doesn't. I will continue posting this everywhere customers can see it until their so-called Investigation team returns my money. I really hope someone at Chime gets in touch with a higher up to get this resolved. Until then, Chime is screwing themselves.

just to fix a minor problem they can't seem to fix. Chime bites I'd love to see a class action suit against this neobank. Hundreds of people have lost money or there money is tied up for months while disputes drag on only to never see their money again. Sign me up for a lawsuit. They claim you can link an outside bank and transfer money between the accounts but then it doesn't work. I got out of traditional banking for a similar reason. I just pulled my money out of chime. I honestly don't know who can be trusted in the banking industrial complex anymore.

Credit builders and checking
Why do I feel like I owe them for my secure credit card. It says 700 and some odd bucks but how when it's secured and you can't spend what you didn't load. Weird. Also my direct deposit from wonolo Frontline llc... won't clear I have been without funds now for almost 3 weeks wit my job, now this omg... some time I just feel defeated.. work for nothing, still no pay because of processing through chime. I'm hungry, tired, put of gas. They won't give me the 200 overdraft protection option but I spend and deposit my hard earned back.. smh..4-5 days and nights. I even could buy my daughter nothing because so many issues this is 1 more.. I'm so tired
Desired outcome: Process my deposit
My checking account
So out of the blue on September chime restricts my account! I can't access a thing. So I contact them and they still don't tell me a thing! The only thing they tell me is they need a copy of my ID front and back and a second form of identification. So I sent it over. But then me not realizing sending from another email address it won't register to chime. So I told them I needed my email changed. But they didn't realize since the account was locked no changes like that could be made. All n all I still have NOT regained access so I reached back out because at this point I just want my money. They tell me that the only way I can get my money is if I get access to my old email address other than that they will not send my money to me they will send it to the state! I'm sorry that's like stealing! As long as you have a return address for me you are supposed to mail it to me! I know my rights and the law... don't play
Claimed loss: I got all the emails too
Desired outcome: I want my money!
Chime Debit Card Declines & Refund Times
After reading dozens of reviews and gaining first hand experience using this card it is my opinion the Chime debit card isn't as widely accepted as the company boasts. For a technology company whose motto is, "Do less, faster, more often," I shouldn't have expected anything less. Here's the facts - the PENDING transactions that will take a full week to refund aren't actually PENDING at all. In fact, there is no record of the attempted purchases which were only systematically declined because of the incompetent payment providers affiliated with Bancorp. It's an injustice to consumers who work hard for the money and do not have the luxury of simply waiting for things to change. Why is it everytime I call customer service they say there is nothing they can do & persistently state that I need to call the other party involved? So now I'm working twice for my money...! I don't think so.
Desired outcome: Somebody actually do their job and investigate what the hell's going on...!! But don't stop there. Refund the money...!!
Chime Review: Unfair Treatment for Women?
Me and my roomie had our wallets jacked. I called Chime right away when we saw some charges at a Walmart we never been to. I even got the cops involved and filed a report. I did everything they told me to do, but they still wouldn't help me out. But get this, my roomie just disputed the charges on the app without no proof or nothing and they helped her out right away.
What's the deal? I think it's 'cause my name is a girl's name.
I had the police involved and I tried to reopen the dispute three times, but they just shut me down without even looking into it. That ain't right, they're supposed to investigate.
I lost a lot of money in just one hour, but I guess it don't matter 'cause I'm a woman. Chime ain't fair.
Terrible Experience with Chime Card: Incorrect Name, Suspended Account, and Sketchy Support
Chime is a company that I would not recommend to anyone. I had a terrible experience with them when I applied for their card. They sent me a card with my name spelled incorrectly, which was not the way I had put it on my application. When I tried to activate the card, I was told that my account was suspended and that I had to send my ID through email to their online support. I was very skeptical about this because it seemed like a setup on their part.
To make matters worse, when I reached out to their email support, I received a response from someone named "Red". I was confused and thought that I was being pranked. This made me even more skeptical about sending them my personal information. I politely declined their request and decided to find another card company.
Their instructions for sending my ID were also very strange. They asked me to write my name and date on a piece of paper, place my ID on the same paper, and take a picture of it. I thought that this was a ridiculous request and that they had lost their minds.
I would strongly advise anyone considering Chime to stay away from them. All of the positive reviews that they have received are lies. I almost fell for them myself, but I am glad that I did not. Do not make the same mistake that I did.
Chime's Deactivation Left Me Stranded on the Road - A Disappointing Experience
I've been using Chime for a year and a half now, and for the most part, things have been going smoothly. Whenever I had an issue, they were quick to fix it without any cancellations. However, in the past few months, I've had a fraudulent charge on my account. Chime deactivated my credit builder and then my debit card, which was supposed to block a certain company from taking money out of my account. Despite this, they let the charge go through and then deactivated my card. When I called to ask why this happened, they couldn't give me a clear answer.
As an over-the-road truck driver, I rely on my card to buy food and drinks while I'm out for weeks at a time. Now, all they can tell me is that I can use my online card, but that only works for online purchases. I can't go to an ATM or buy anything over the counter at any store with the money I still have in my account. This leaves me with no money for food or drinks for the entire week I'm on the road. Needless to say, I'm very upset with Chime and will never use their services again.
Nightmare Experience with Chime: Blocked Refund and No Help from Customer Service
I've been dealing with Chime for the past day and a half and it's been a complete nightmare. I've spent over 3 hours on the phone with them and they still haven't fixed my problem. It's been absolutely no help at all. The issue started when a company took money out of my account without my permission. I contacted the company myself and they agreed to refund me, but Chime blocked the transaction and wouldn't allow the refund to go through. I called Chime right away and was transferred to 3 different people, but none of them were able to help me. I'm beyond frustrated with this company and I don't think I'll ever use them again. I even sent them an email while I was on hold, but they haven't responded yet. I'm so upset right now and I feel like I'll never get my refund. I would never recommend Chime to anyone. It's just awful.
Chime Financial Card Denies Refund for Damaged International Purchase
I recently used Chime for an online international purchase and unfortunately, the item I received was damaged. I promptly sent the item back to the merchant on November 30th, 2022 and they received it on December 6th, 2022. The merchant had agreed to give me a full refund as soon as they received the item, but unfortunately, I still haven't received my refund as of January 29th, 2023.
Chime Financial Card has been denying my disputes and rebuttals over 300 times, which has been extremely frustrating. They have been blocking me from getting my $363.50 back, even though I have sent them numerous pieces of evidence such as shipping receipts, conversations with the merchant, and even emails of the merchant trying to blackmail me. I have also provided emails of the merchant falsifying paperwork, but Chime Financial Card keeps denying me.
It's disappointing that even though I shipped the item back, the merchant has my refund and they keep lying to me. I would advise others not to deal with Chime or the online merchant ASHINMARY. The merchant's quality is damaged, and they steal your money because they are international and based in China. It's been a frustrating experience, and I hope others can learn from my mistake.
Chime Credit Builder Card Review: Disappointing Reporting and Customer Service
I recently signed up for Chime and got their credit builder card. I was really excited to start building my credit and for the first two months, everything was going great. However, I was shocked to see a -77 point ding on my credit report out of nowhere. When I looked into it, I found out that it was because of Chime.
I had been using my credit builder card responsibly and paying everything ahead of time. But for some reason, Chime reported to Experian that I owed a balance. I was really confused because there was no way I could owe money on a prepaid card where every dime I spent was paid ahead of time. When I talked to Experian, they confirmed that Chime had reported a balance on my account.
I reached out to Chime's customer service multiple times and even talked to their management, but they just kept sending me in circles. They refused to take responsibility for their mistake and blamed Experian instead. It was really frustrating because I had done everything right and yet I was being penalized for something that wasn't my fault.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with Chime. They claim to be a great option for people who want to build their credit, but they clearly don't know how to handle their own reporting. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wants to take their credit seriously.
Chime Bank Review: Unprofessional and Unreliable - Take Your Money Elsewhere
Chime? More like Chump! I had my hard-earned cash with these guys for a hot minute, but let me tell you, it was a total disaster. I mean, I'd rather hide my money under my mattress than trust it with these clowns. I had a checking account with them for over four years, but when I finally had to file a dispute for some seriously shoddy service, they showed their true colors. And let me tell you, those colors were not pretty.
Now, I'm not one to go around filing disputes left and right. In fact, this was my first and only time doing so. But the service I received was so bad, I had no choice. I told them over and over again how unhappy I was, but they just didn't seem to care. And then, to top it all off, they closed my case without even investigating it! Can you believe that? When I called to get an update, they just told me it was closed and didn't give me any explanation. Talk about unprofessional.
I mean, seriously, what kind of bank operates like that? It's like they don't even care about their customers. And let me tell you, I hope they go out of business soon. They're not special, you know. Plenty of other banks offer early direct deposit and overdraft protection. So why bother with these jokers?
If you're smart, you'll take your money elsewhere. Don't make the same mistake I did. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Terrible Experience with Chime: Unresponsive, Dishonest, and Unhelpful
I had a really bad experience with Chime. I ordered a scooter from BUCKMASO"M" and not BUCKMASO"N" on Oct 29,2022, only to find out that it was a fake website. I filed a dispute with Chime on Nov 4,2022, but I didn't hear anything from them until I contacted CHIME CHAT. They told me that my case was still under investigation and that a decision would be made on Feb 2,2023. I was really frustrated with the lack of communication from Chime.
I called back 2 hours later and chatted with a different live agent. She told me that my case was closed on Nov 14 or so and that she would reopen my case with the documentation I provided. I was relieved that someone was finally helping me, but my relief was short-lived.
On Jan 6, I received a notice to check my Chime account for a document. It was a denial to issue a refund of my $76.00. I was really angry and disappointed with Chime. I felt like they were being dishonest with me and not taking my case seriously.
To make matters worse, I mistakenly transferred money to the 2nd card sent to me, not knowing that a credit check was pulled for this. It showed up on my credit report, and I was really upset about it. This card was an actual credit card pre-pay type that the consumer puts money on and is tracked by CHIME. I have canceled my direct deposit and will never do business with this DISHONEST company ever again!
Overall, my experience with Chime was terrible. They were unresponsive, dishonest, and unhelpful. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Terrible Experience with Chime: Locked Out, Ghosted, and Funds Held Hostage
My experience with Chime has been absolutely terrible. I opened an account in January and made an initial deposit of funds. However, when I attempted to log in a couple of days later, I was locked out of my account. When I emailed customer service, they asked me to send them scans of various documents to confirm my identity, such as bills, with scans of envelopes showing my home address. When I repeatedly explained in about 15 email exchanges that I don't receive hard copies of any bills or financial documents, I was eventually ghosted, after I never received a single substance of response actually addressing what I was telling them. Therefore, I sent an email asking to close my account, but nothing has been done after about about 5 more email exchanges, and eventually they ghosted me on this issue as well. My account is still not closed, and they still have my funds. This is outrageous. Do not do business with this company. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and an era when customer service is typically awful. I mean, come on, it's not rocket science to close an account and return funds. It's not like I'm asking for a million dollars or anything. It's just a small amount of money that I want back. But no, they can't even do that. It's like they don't even care about their customers. I'm so frustrated and angry right now. I just want my money back and to never have to deal with Chime again.
Chime's Credit Builder Card: Annoying and Frustrating Experience
I've been using Chime for more than 3 years now and it's been smooth sailing until recently. They keep pushing their credit Builder card, which I finally got. But, every month, they automatically transfer 25% of my direct deposit to the card as the monthly payment. I understand that's how they make their money, but it's a bit annoying.
Recently, I received a notice from Capital One, another bank I use, that my credit score had dropped by 57 points. It turns out that Chime reported to the credit bureaus that I hadn't made a payment to them since November 1st and that I was delinquent. This has completely destroyed my credit score, which is really frustrating.
To make matters worse, there's a pending transaction hold of $35.64 on my credit Builder card that's been there for over a week. Chime is refusing to remove it, which is strange because I've never heard of any financial institution that doesn't allow pending transaction holds to be removed after 7 to 10 days.
I'm not sure what's going on with Chime. Maybe they've changed ownership or something. But, it's really frustrating that they're causing me so much trouble with my credit score. I don't know what I can do about it, but I hope they fix this issue soon.
DO NOT USE MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT
I’ve never been thrilled with chime. Now I just want to get my deposit and close this account. I keep forgetting this isn’t a real bank, it’s like a piggy bank. I switched my direct deposit from CHASE (a REAL banking institution) to chime, a little piggy bank. These idiots say it takes 5 business days for a PAYROLL check to clear. That’s a bit strange, but ok. 3 hours after I make the mobile deposit, I receive a notification saying my check has been accepted, and I will have my funds by the end of the day. That’s more like it, only when I call customer support, they go back to the 5 business day nonsense.(I’ll have another paycheck by that time and will have gone an entire week without my weekly pay) Every person I spoke to could do absolutely NOTHING but read from their screen. Like an idiotic robot. This is the absolute WORST banking experience I’ve ever had to deal with. When it’s all over, I will tell everyone I know what an awful experience I’ve had, and just how bad their customer “support “ is. It would be extremely helpful if your customer support agents spoke clear English. I don’t know how many times I had to ask the person I was speaking with to repeat themselves because they just don’t have a stronghold on the English language. Chime has cut every single corner possible. Don’t trust your money with them, because as soon as there’s a problem, you will see just how awful this “financial institution “ is. As well as their “customer support “ let’s hold a payroll check that’s already cleared.

DO NOT OPEN A CHIME ACCOUNT!
I opened the account and received the card. I deposited $500 on the card for my security deposit on an apartment, to use the card to pay the deposit online. I found out the next day that I had to pay the security deposit by money order in person only. So I went to the ATM to withdraw the cash I had deposited and I wasn’t allowed to. Either simultaneously or as a result of this transaction, Chime closed my account and informed me that I would be sent my $500 via check. This meant that I was unable to move into my new home until I received the check. This caused MANY issues
-Chime NEVER explained why they closed my account. Citing violations of their terms of service but never outlined what term I’d violated. Likely because I hadn’t violated any.
-My $500 check was mailed to the WRONG address, the agent addressing it to 3741 (which doesn’t exist) instead of 3714. The ONLY reason I received it is because I know the UPS man & had to chase him 4 blocks to get it.
-IF I hadn’t done what I mentioned above, I would have had to live in a homeless shelter until Chime decided to own its myriad of “mistakes” that resulted, or would have resulted, in my financial demise.
—Last but not least, CHIME HAS NEVER OWNED THEIR MESS
There are other cards out here that offer the same things. PayPal. WalMart. Serve. I have NEVER been disregarded and mistreated the way Chime has handled my situation. And considering I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, this could happen to anyone. Just don’t do it. Let Chime fix itself while your money is secure elsewhere.

It’s alright. as long as there’s no issues with your funds
I’ve had Chime for quite some time now (switched from Simple in fact due to faster direct deposits). I’ve certainly enjoyed getting my deposits two days earlier than most banks surely. I would however encounter random little problems regarding my funds. Whenever that has happened, it becomes stressful in trying to speak to someone human. I’ve overlooked that for a very long time until I got a new position with a local business. They didn’t offer direct deposits so I had to deposit my checks manually through the app. I’ve encountered some issues with the check cashing through the app for silly reasons, some small some annoying and some understandable. The final straw was when they couldn’t cash my check the second time through the same work place (I assumed there would be enough recourse by then to cash the check, especially when the new checks are now more secure and official looking as those ADP checks). Then they proceeded to tell me that I CANNOT CASH THAT CHECK EVER AGAIN WITH CHIME! A huge pain point for this business is their lack of human interaction. They were cool when things are hunky dory. But when you really need to reach out to the financial institution that’s handling your finances yet you can’t really, how can one trust that in a long term? Alas I switched back to Simple because even though it’s the same concept, they cashed my check for one and they’re accepted more widely by other apps that connects to banks. I normally never review but all these negative experiences, though they are small, has added up to a huge frustrations over the bank.

This card has perks about it but it has become the biggest mistake I have ever made
I have banked with Netspend (the review is not about Netspend stay with me) for years and I’ve had some small issues regarding ATM fees and the occasional location that won’t accept the card *coughStarbucks *coughI digress. I decided to switch to chime based off of a recommendation from a co worker.
When I started using chime I enjoyed the way the transactions were set up and the alerts I received. I also like that the card has a chip and is accepted basically everywhere. They also have a nice selection of ATMs in their network.
Now for my issues with the card. The ATMs that are out of network generally charge a fee, yes of course, but I was not aware that chime charges a fee on top of the businesses ATM fee making a 20$ withdrawal with the usual 2-3 fee now a 20$ withdrawal with a 5-6 dollar fee. That’s outrageous.
The ATM is just a slight issue I had. My large issue is the fact that someone on the chime side processed my refund wrong. Instead of being issued a refund and receiving a credit I received an additional charge. So now instead of me being credited a small amount I am missing double the original amount. Once I was able to get past the IVR system ,that basically tries to force you to do everything online, the disputes department notified me that the investigation may take up to 90 days. (I have worked for a credit card company over 5 years I’m well aware of processing and time) Mind you I called the company that issued me the refund beforehand and I have proof that they issued it correctly so how did chime code it as being a transaction and not a credit?
