Scam artists
Reading these reviews brings back lot sadness and regrets. While it is too late for my family, I sincerely hope that these reviews along with mine will discourage others from making a huge mistake by entering into a contract with these con artists. These snakes prey on the emotions that are common with individuals or families that are going through the heartbreak of losing a loved one, or relocating from a long time residence.
The owners of these franchises
have obviously been trained to use the same technique during their sales pitch. They dupe the owners of the property by telling them exactly what they want to hear and making promises that will not be kept. They assure their victims that everything will be categorized, evaluated for pricing, and that most of the more expensive items will be auctioned on line to maximize sales.
We watched as many items were carefully packed into boxes in preparation for the on line auction. The boxed items were taken away to never be seen again. The promised on line auction never occurred.
A few of the antique furniture items that held figurines were left in the home to display items for sale. The furniture displaying these items were clearly marked “CABINET IS NOT FOR SALE”, yet they were sold anyway.
Absolutely no accountability was given for anything that sold. No description or selling price was provided for a single item sold. The items that were boxed for the on line auction were supposedly sold in lots at the estate rather than on line, yet there is no accountability.
An extensive collection of carpenter, mechanic, lawn, and garden tools were liquidated with absolutely no accountability.
The property accumulated over a marriage of 69 years resulted in payment of less than $4,000.
Please do not let these frauds plunder your family’s possessions. Do not sign any contract without having an attorney review it. I assure you that investing a few hundred dollars in professional fees will save you thousands of dollars as well as a lot of regret and heartache. The contract they have you sign is nothing more than a license for them to steal.
Do Not Use This Firm
It is unfortunate that I have to write this negative review of this business. They come across as nice, caring, helpful people but in the end they are not. My experience was painful and dishonorable to my lost loved one. They spoke of honoring her memory and carefully sorting her things. Instead, they, without consulting the family, donated, threw away, or otherwise got rid of the bulk of her estate and sorted just enough of value to cover their costs. Adding insult to injury, after informing the family that all of the inventory had been unknowingly disposed of and the sale had netted no profit at all, this firm tried to extort more money from this grieving family in the form of previously undisclosed additional fees. Shameful, unethical behaviors in my opinion. Like wolves in sheep’s clothing who promise joint rewards but then rob you of it all. My recommendation is don’t let this company rob you too.
Recommendation: Stay Away!!
Review of Caring Transitions: Pros and Cons of Service Delivery and Cost-Effectiveness
I recently used Caring Transitions, and I must say, Tina and Chuck are true professionals in their field. As a person with disabilities, I needed help with two moves, and they provided exceptional service. However, when it came to the second move, I was a bit taken aback when I received a contract with a single price. When I asked for the final invoice, Tina merely threw out a number, which left me somewhat puzzled.
While I genuinely believe that Tina and Chuck are experts in their field, it seems as though they may need to improve their cost to benefit ratio. When compared to the average cost of movers, their fees are overpriced by approximately 35%. Even though I willingly agreed to the original quote for the second move, I knew that it was too low and gave them double what we had originally discussed.
In my opinion, Caring Transitions would benefit immensely from hiring a financial person to assist them in their profession. Moreover, one of the workers who helped me unpack sat around for two-thirds of the total time, but I was still charged for her unproductive hours. Also, the behavior of the movers they hired was discourteous and unprofessional during the entire period.
It must be noted that Tina and Chuck are caring people and have a good heart. However, their professional growth and development need to be taken into consideration. All in all, I think they can significantly improve their service delivery and cost-effectiveness by enlisting the help of a financial expert and conducting training sessions for their workers to promote professionalism and respect.
Dismal customer experience with Caring Transitions: Blocked from franchisees and poor communication with corporate
I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Caring Transitions. Although the company has many convenient locations, I had a negative encounter with one of their franchisee owners and was subsequently blocked from purchasing from all franchisees. This seems like an unfair and irrational way to run a business. Despite spending an average of $10,000 a month with them, I found it disheartening that one individual’s actions could affect my interactions with the company as a whole.
Moreover, attempting to rectify the situation with the corporate office proved frustrating, as their call center staff had trouble handling my issue. After speaking with multiple representatives, I could not get a clear and helpful answer. This lack of effective communication only added to the stress and confusion caused by my experience.
Overall, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. While I wish others luck in their dealings with Caring Transitions, my own negative experience has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
My Warning to Others: Steer Clear of Caring Transitions - Hire Professional, Trustworthy 1800 Junk Instead
It is with great regret that I warn others to steer clear of Caring Transitions. In my opinion, this company cannot be trusted, and I implore you to avoid falling into their trap. Based on my experience, I believe that you would be better off hiring professionals from 1800 Junk, who at least you can trust to take away your loved one’s possessions securely and with professionalism.
I had entrusted Caring Transitions to manage my mother's estate, only to later discover that my trust was misplaced. Adrian Massey and her team made a mockery of my mother's cherished possessions, selling them at a fraction of their value and leaving her with mere pennies. As a senior citizen, it was demoralising to see my mother treated this way, and it was entirely unjustified.
We tried to reach Caring Transitions multiple times for answers, but we could not get through to them. We were continually stymied, and our complaints went unanswered. Their corporate office was no better and failed to return any of our calls. It was as if we were invisible.
The fact that they took advantage of us left me and my family feeling wounded and bitter. I advise that you don't get yourself into this precarious situation because Caring Transitions could end up robbing you as well. Their insensitivity and greediness left us devastated, and we don't wish this on anyone.
I cannot stress it enough: do not hire Caring Transitions for anything. Through their methods, they prey on the elderly and their children, leaving them despondent and feeling hopeless. They are a heartless group, and I pray that they face the full weight of the law one day.
In short, if you love and respect your loved ones, stay far away from this company.
Caring Transitions Review: Beware of Losing Possessions and High Costs!
When my parents decided it was time to downsize and move into a retirement community, they entrusted Caring Transitions of Columbia, SC (CT) to help them with the sale of their belongings. They were hoping to work with a company that would be trustworthy and put their best interests at heart. However, in the end, my parents paid over $8,500.00 to Caring Transitions and ended up losing all the possessions they could not take with them.
After reaching out to the corporate office for resolution, I was informed that they were not responsible for the actions of the franchise owner. Unfortunately, two months have passed, and we have yet to find any resolution.
Luckily, my parents have not been completely devastated by the situation, but there are likely others out there who have not been as fortunate. In my opinion, it is crucial to research the owner and company before trusting them with your belongings. Do not rely merely on what they tell you, but scrutinize the contract closely.
It is possible that this service might work well for other people. The owner of our local franchise seemed like a caring individual who looked after his customers. Unfortunately, it seems as though this is not always the case- at least in our experience.
In my opinion, it is often better to donate your items or hire some help to load them up and sell them yourself at a flea market or online. While it may be more work, it could help you avoid a situation like ours and keep your costs reasonable.
Caring Transitions of Myrtle Beach: A Nightmare Experience for a Vulnerable Client
I recently had the experience of hiring Caring Transitions of Myrtle Beach, SC to help me prepare my home for sale. As someone who is currently dealing with a critical illness, I had no way to return to my home and no relatives who were able to assist me in this process. However, the owner of Caring Transitions assured me that their team would provide me with caring and professional assistance.
Initially, I received an estimate of the costs involved with the services. I was informed that the cost would be 40% commission of the total gross sales from an online auction, $70.00 per hour for labor, and an estimated cost of $2800 to complete the process. As there were approximately 300 items that needed to be placed in the online auction, I expected that my possessions would be well taken care of.
Unfortunately, my experience with Caring Transitions was far from satisfactory. The house was sold quickly and the auction downsized to under 200 items as the owner claimed that there was not enough time to ready all the items. Despite the efficient sorting and packing of items, many of my possessions mysteriously disappeared. When I raised my concern to the team, I was only told that "everything sold".
As the owner continually "blessed my heart" with her apparent fake empathy, it became clear that she was taking complete advantage of my situation. Not only did my possessions disappear, but the overall cost of the service was emotionally devastating and exceeded a monetary cost of almost $7,000! As someone who is alone, elderly, and unwell, I would not recommend Caring Transitions of Myrtle Beach to anyone in a similar situation.
In conclusion, while some aspects of Caring Transitions' services may have been efficient, the overall experience was a nightmare. If you are in a vulnerable position and in need of assistance, I would strongly advise against using this company.
My Experience with Caring Transitions: Good and Bad Franchise Reviews
As someone who is an avid online auction buyer and collector, I have had many experiences with various auction sites and franchises. However, I have to say that I have had some truly awesome experiences with Caring Transitions, specifically with their 3 local CTbids locations in the metro Atlanta area. Unfortunately, not all franchises conduct business in the same manner.
When it comes to buying from out-of-state locations, communication can sometimes be difficult and this is where I have run into some trouble. Some franchises deal with outside vendors like UPS or Pak-Mail for shipping, but extra handling fees that vary from location to location can be added on by the Franchise. A little uniformity in the process would be helpful for all.
I have personally had negative experiences with the Cleveland location. I have experienced instances where I have paid for items that the franchise ended up donating instead of shipping to me. This was extremely frustrating, and when I approached them about shipping before the auction was completed, I never received an answer to my question. Instead, I received a text message saying that I needed to pay the invoice "ASAP", threatening to suspend my account and resell my items if it wasn't paid by 5pm. I was unable to pay this invoice because I was out working with crews and not sitting at a computer. I eventually paid, only to find out my account had been blocked, just as they had threatened.
If you are an out-of-state buyer, I would suggest avoiding the Cleveland franchise location entirely. It was a frustrating and unprofessional experience, and I will not be doing business with them again. With so many other online auctions to choose from, I will be shopping elsewhere. Nonetheless, I have had positive experiences with other locations and will continue to conduct business with Caring Transitions.
Caring Transitions Augusta: More Interested in Profit Than Customers
When my husband's dementia worsened, I knew we needed to downsize and sell some of our belongings in order to afford his care. We had already had one successful estate sale in the spring, so we decided to hire Caring Transitions for our second sale. The local manager seemed very nice and assured us that he was there to help us through this difficult time. However, we quickly realized that this business was more interested in making money than helping us.
Our possessions were tossed haphazardly into plastic tubs and listed for a mere $1 per tub. Despite being told not to watch the online sale, we couldn't help but notice that our items were being sold for a fraction of what they were worth. How could a tub filled with valuable belongings be sold for only $11? We felt cheated and taken advantage of.
The moving crew that was brought in was absolutely terrible. They didn't pack our items properly, leaving parts on the ground and putting an outdoor swing in the POD instead of breaking it down to properly fit. It was only thanks to sheer luck that I was able to find expensive replacement parts that they had left behind. The cleaning crew also had to constantly point out items that were forgotten and left behind.
When we finally received our belongings at our new home, we were horrified by the lack of care that was taken to pack and transport our items. Precious art was tossed haphazardly into boxes with other items, and our 60+ year old china from Vietnam was not even wrapped. Some boxes were barely even full, while others were overloaded with heavy items. Furniture that was brand new ended up being broken, but despite our protestations, the local Caring Transitions manager simply blamed us, insisting that it "had to have been broken before the move."
To add insult to injury, the local Caring Transitions manager sold over $9000 worth of our belongings, but we are only going to receive around $2000. This was supposed to be the money to help pay for my husband's care, but instead, it's lining the pockets of a company that clearly doesn't care about its customers. I can't recommend Caring Transitions, at least not the one in the Augusta, Georgia area. They are only out for profit and will do anything to blame the customer if anything goes wrong.
Caring Transitions Estate Sale Review: Buyer Beware of Hidden Fees and High Commissions
I recently had an experience with Caring Transitions in Baltimore, Maryland for an estate sale after our relocation. Our home was filled with over 40 years' worth of collectibles, antiques, furniture, and valuables, but also a fair amount of items that may not have had a lot of value. While I expected an hourly rate of $65 for their services in preparing, packing, creating, and monitoring the auction, I was surprised to learn that there was also a "Lot Preparation Fee" called "Sale Management and Creation" listed in the accounting I received. Furthermore, they charged me 35% of all sale proceeds after deducting credit card and PayPal fees, regardless of the value of the item. For example, collectible bourbon valued at $5,500 also took a 35% commission in addition to the labor charges. The online auction for our large sale only lasted for a few days, and we didn't feel like we got adequate exposure or time to sell our items for a reasonable price.
It appears that their 7,000+ buyers may be knowledgeable about Caring Transitions auctions, and may be looking to get items at below bargain basement prices. While we know that some household items may not have much value when sold, we felt like everything had minimal value in the online auction. Our sale generated $22,700, but after all their fees and charges, plus the 35% commission, we were left with only $3,700 in net proceeds – even less than the value of the bourbon. Looking back, we may have wished we had kept the items instead of going through with the sale.
If you are considering Caring Transitions, please be careful and take the time to fully understand what their services entail and what fees and charges are included. Once the sale is done, you have no leverage to change anything. So, please be aware that it could cost you more than you might think from their sales pitch. Buyer beware!
Buyer Beware: My Disappointing Experience with Caring Transitions
Recently, I had a disappointing experience with Caring Transitions. I purchased some Sterling coins from a franchise owner and requested that they be sent to me via USPS. However, when I received the shipping invoice for $39.00, I was alarmed and called the owner to express my concerns. Unfortunately, the owner was extremely rude to my husband and refused to honor my request for an alternative shipping method.
Feeling frustrated and confused by the exorbitant fees, my husband mistakenly cancelled the sale while I was out. When I learned of this error, I promptly contacted the CT owner explaining the situation and requested a new shipping invoice. Despite my efforts, the CT owner refused to issue a new invoice and instead, blocked my account from trading with any CT owners again. To make matters worse, I have not received a refund yet.
It is disheartening to note that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Last year, my husband bid on an item and was subsequently frozen out of his account for allegedly sending 3 unanswered emails, despite being hospitalised with COVID-19. The CT owner treated my husband unfairly and refused to cooperate when he tried to explain the situation.
I regret to say that my husband and I are thoroughly disappointed with Caring Transitions and their business practices. As a result of this experience, I have cancelled all of my purchases with other CT owners and requested a chargeback from my credit card company for all payments. What is more, even though we had considered buying a franchise from CT earlier this year, we have now decided against it. The $44,000 franchise fee is not worth investing in such poor business practices.
I urge all potential customers to exercise caution and be wary of CT's practices. Buyer beware!
Caring Transitions Failed to Deliver on Promise to Downsize Home for Elderly Woman with Disability
As a seventy-three-year-old woman with partial disability, I recently contracted Caring Transitions to downsize my home for $500. Before hiring them, I thoroughly explained that I had quite a large quantity that needed to be taken care of, and they assured me that it would not be a problem. They walked through my entire house and three sheds, assuring me that everything would be taken care of. They were to take the first $2500, and if they made a larger amount, they would charge me 35% of the total sales.
However, things did not go according to plan. They failed to mention that nothing would be sold for less than $1.00 PER LOT with more than 4, 5, or 6 items in a lot. They also neglected to mention that they would not sell anything electrical.
I showed them my extensive collection of animated Christmas figurines, and they said that everything would be taken care of. They suggested we have a second sale dedicated to Christmas items, closer to the holiday, but I wanted it all done and postponed a surgery to make it happen. Two days after they started, Stacey informed me that it was too much for them to handle and they needed another $2500 to hire a truck and storage. When I asked for my deposit back, she refused, saying it covered the cost of the help that came to my house.
They asked me to take $2500 out of my sales and they would not return unless I agreed. This was not part of our contract, and they had already seen everything I wanted to sell. She even turned it back on me, saying that I would have more room if things were sold. After I paid their employees to take pictures, I wasn't reimbursed when they left without selling anything.
To make matters worse, they left my house in a mess and didn't offer to auction the things they had already taken photographs of. Stacey's attitude was also unprofessional. She came into my home with an attitude when one of her employees documented that she was being paid $65 per hour when she arrived. She copped an attitude on me over the phone when she said they wouldn't be back!
I have a video of how they left my home. However, I am not good with technology and so cannot relay the pictures and videos from my contract to this review.
For this reason, I will not be using Caring Transitions again. I hope that others aren't as disappointed as my experience has now become.

Addressing Negative Review of Caring Transitions: Don't Let One Bad Egg Spoil the Bunch
I have to say, it is incredibly disheartening to read such a negative review about Caring Transitions. It's clear that this individual had a very unpleasant experience with one of the franchisees in Denver, and it's sad to see how it impacted their opinion of the entire organization.
As someone who works in the senior care industry, I know how important it is to have trustworthy and reliable companies that provide services for families who are dealing with all sorts of life transitions. It's truly disappointing to see that this particular franchisee was able to tarnish the reputation of a larger organization that is dedicated to helping others during difficult times.
That being said, it's important to remember that not all franchisees are created equal. It's up to each individual franchise owner to uphold the standards and ideals that are expected of them. It sounds like the individual who wrote this review had an experience that was truly unacceptable, but I'd encourage anyone who is considering using Caring Transitions to not let this one bad experience taint their perception of the entire organization.
It's also worth noting that the comment about the company taking "every penny" of the estate proceeds is certainly not representative of the policies and procedures that Caring Transitions has in place. In fact, part of the company's mission is to help families maximize their returns during estate sales and downsizing events.
In the grand scheme of things, I can see how this negative experience could be tremendously frustrating and disheartening. However, I do think it's important to remember that the actions of one franchise should not eclipse the good work and positive experiences that many others have had with Caring Transitions. At the end of the day, it's up to families to do their research and choose a partner that they feel they can trust to handle their estate sales, downsizing, and other needs with care and compassion.
Overall Positive Review of Caring Transitions, with a caveat on their auction platform
Caring Transitions is an online platform that offers a range of services for people who need help downsizing, liquidating their belongings, and moving to new locations. Their website is user-friendly and offers a variety of helpful resources to guide users through the process of utilizing their services.
However, one unfortunate incident marred my otherwise positive experience with Caring Transitions. I purchased an item through their online auction system, but it took quite a long time to hear back from the seller regarding the shipping details. After 14 days of waiting, I became frustrated and decided to retract my bid and request a refund through my credit card company.
This decision prompted a response from the seller, who accused me of violating their terms and conditions and suggested that I had not read their instructions carefully. While I understand that miscommunications can happen, I was disappointed by the seller's accusatory tone and felt that she was not taking responsibility for the delay in shipping my item.
Despite this setback, I believe that Caring Transitions has a lot to offer to people who need assistance with their moves and estate sales. Their website is informative and easy to navigate, and their team seems dedicated to helping their clients achieve their goals in a timely and professional manner. I would recommend their services to others, with the caveat that they should be cautious when dealing with individual sellers on their auction platform.
Review of Caring Transitions: Great Cleaning Services, But Is Their Online Auction Worth It?
I recently had the pleasure of working with Caring Transitions, a company that specializes in estate sales and home clean-outs. I hired them to help me clear out my mother's home, which can be a daunting task for anyone, and I was not disappointed with their work. The team did an excellent job with the clean-out, leaving me with a spotless and organized space.
However, when it comes to having them auction off your family's home contents, I would have to say that it's not worth it. While my parents' home had some truly beautiful antiques and collectibles, we unfortunately made very little profit from the sale of these items. I was disappointed to learn that Caring Transitions did not have the robust online audience I was hoping for, which likely contributed to the lack of profitability.
In the end, I felt that Caring Transitions made more money than I did, which left me with an additional bill to pay them. As someone who was going through this process in order to care for a loved one in a nursing home, this was not an ideal outcome.
For those who may be considering using Caring Transitions, I would recommend doing some research first to find out if their online audience is a good fit for your particular items. Below are just a few examples of the items my family had from our home and what they sold for at auction: A rocker was sold for only $20, while an antique Victorian parlor table only fetched $25. Overall, while I was pleased with the cleaning services provided by Caring Transitions, I would caution others about using their auction services unless they are absolutely certain it will be worth their while financially.

Caring Transitions: Unethical Behavior and Exploitation
I recently had an unfortunate experience with a company called Caring Transitions and felt compelled to share my thoughts. In my opinion, this company engages in what can only be described as dishonest and manipulative behavior. When faced with the difficult task of dealing with the belongings of a recently deceased family member, we trusted them to provide us with a fair and ethical service. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
To our dismay, Caring Transitions chose to "auction off" two entire rooms of furniture, along with various kitchen items and appliances, including a rare china set and unused flatware that were still in their original packaging. We were shocked to discover that they sold all of these items for less than $80. Not only was this amount far lower than what we had expected, but it also demonstrated that Caring Transitions was solely interested in making a profit at our expense.
Adding insult to injury, Caring Transitions did not even have the decency to inform us when the auction would take place. When we called to inquire, we were told that the auction had already happened, and that they were not legally obligated to provide us with information about upcoming auctions. We were left feeling exploited and helpless at a time when we were already wrestling with grief.
I cannot begin to express how disturbing and unethical I found Caring Transitions' actions to be. Funeral arrangements and estate planning are already emotionally charged and stressful events, and to have a company take advantage of one's vulnerability is simply unconscionable. In my opinion, this company should be avoided at all costs. I urge anyone considering their services to seek a different, more honest provider, given the importance of protecting your loved ones during this vulnerable period.
False advertising and poor customer service at Caring Transitions sale
I recently had an experience with Caring Transitions that I feel compelled to share. I drove over 30 minutes to attend their 1-day sale, eager to get my hands on some beautiful jewelry that was advertised on their website. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I found that the store was not yet open and I had to wait in line for 2 hours before anyone showed up to let us in.
To add insult to injury, when both the person in front of me and I finally made it inside, we were disappointed to find that the jewelry we had been excited about was nowhere to be found. When we asked the staff about it, they assured us that everything was there, but we couldn't see any of it.
It wasn't until the person in front of me went to pay that I saw a note in the staff's pad that said there was $200 worth of jewelry that had already been pre-sold before the store even opened at 9 am. This is clearly false advertising, and it felt like a waste of my time and gas money to have been led on like this.
To make matters worse, when I tried to air my grievances with the company, they were completely unresponsive and dismissive of my concerns. This is not the way a reputable company should treat their customers, and it's no surprise that they have a poor rating.
I am now exploring the possibility of taking Caring Transitions to small claims court in California, as I feel like they have done me a great disservice. I would advise other potential customers to approach this company with caution, as my experience has left me deeply disappointed.
Terrible Experience with Caring Transitions: Lack of Communication and Professionalism
My experience with Caring Transitions was truly terrible. As I moved to sort, organize and sell the many boxes filled with memories left behind by my mother, grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, I called upon the Parker Colorado franchise for assistance. Unfortunately, my hopes were soon dashed.
When the owner, Sue Hawk, came to my home, she seemed uninterested in the items displayed before her and immediately proclaimed that nothing she saw was worth anything. After going through a few heirlooms and antiques, she promised to send a proposal via email, which never arrived. It quickly became clear that she felt there was not enough money to be made in the process, and rather than being upfront with me about it, she simply ignored me.
This lack of communication and professionalism is not what I had hoped for from a caring transitioning company. I was left feeling hopeless and stuck with boxes of items that I did not know what to do with. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for help with the often overwhelming task of downsizing and organizing.
Customer Service Fails: A Disappointing Experience with a Home Goods Business
I recently had an unfortunate experience with a certain business while trying to buy items for my home. I visited their garage sale and was disappointed to find that the "regular store merchants" were given preference over other customers, causing a backup that resulted in a long and wet wait. To add to the frustration, when my turn finally came to select an item, I was dismayed to find that it was covered in dust and in poor condition.
Despite this disappointing experience, I decided to give the business another chance by visiting their physical location. Unfortunately, I encountered further issues when their incorrect street name caused me to become lost and confused. When I finally arrived, I was greeted by an employee who seemed unwilling to let me retrieve my previously purchased item even though it was early. I did eventually receive my item, but the entire experience left me feeling frustrated and unappreciated as a customer.
All of these factors combined lead me to take my business elsewhere and I do not plan to return. It is disappointing to see a business not treat all their customers equally and provide poor service. I hope they take the necessary steps to improve their practices in the future.
Unpleasant Experience with Caring Transitions: A Review
The experience I had with Caring Transitions (caringtransitions.com) was extremely unpleasant and I feel compelled to share my thoughts with others. I was incredibly disappointed by the services provided by the company, and it resulted in significant frustration and inconvenience for me.
Firstly, I had expected them to sell some of my larger items such as my beloved couch, loveseat, and chair, which they failed to do. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. I was shocked to find out that they had dumped another client's garbage at my house without any explanation or care, as the house was being bulldozed.
On top of that, they threw all my belongings into tubs and sold them in bulk items. They even took mattresses that I had stored in an outdoor building and left them outside to be ruined by the rain. To make matters worse, I was informed that any items that were not sold would be donated to charity, which did not happen at all. When I raised my concerns about all these issues, they dismissed my concerns and stated that my items were not valuable enough to sell and charities would not accept them.
As if that wasn't enough, I also discovered that an ice maker and four wheels of my property were missing, which only added to my frustrations. And to my surprise, they had the audacity to send me a bill for their unsatisfactory services. Clearly, I refuse to pay for the subpar efforts that they carried out.
To conclude, I would recommend that anyone who intends to work with Caring Transitions should think twice. The experience was not only upsetting but also a waste of resources. The services that they provide are a far cry from what they advertise.
Disappointing and Disheartening Experience with Caring Transitions: Lack of Care and Compassion for Elderly Clients
The experience with Caring Transitions was extremely disappointing and disheartening. The owner/operator of this company demonstrated complete lack of care and compassion towards my elderly, disabled parents during their move to an Assisted Living facility. Their so-called online auction was a complete sham and resulted in my parents' cherished belongings being sold to a "private buyer" for mere pennies on the dollar. This callous person then pocketed the fee from my parents and whatever the "private buyer" offered.
It is deeply concerning to witness this level of insensitivity towards elderly clients who are going through a major life transition. My father, a 76 year old Vietnam War veteran who is 100% disabled, was left in tears from the treatment he received from Caring Transitions. Instead of being supportive and compassionate during this difficult move, my parents were given a cold and careless treatment.
It is simply inexcusable for a company that claims to provide caring transitions to operate in such an unethical manner that prioritizes her own profit over her clients' well-being. Considering this experience, I strongly advise anyone against using Caring Transitions for their services. It is clear that this company lacks the necessary empathy and professionalism to provide the level of care that elderly clients deserve.
Beware of Caring Transitions: My Disappointing Experience with their Services
I recently had an extremely negative experience with a company called Caring Transitions, and I feel like it is my duty to warn others to stay away. At the outset of our agreement, I was optimistic about their services and agreed to let them handle the sale of some of my belongings. Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that this company was not living up to its name. Not only did I end up losing money, but despite having paid them for services, a significant portion of the job was never completed.
One of the most frustrating parts of this process was dealing with the online auction that was supposed to take place. Despite agreeing to handle the sale of my items, the auction started without all of my items even being listed! Furthermore, despite being promised by Caring Transitions that some of my belongings had fetched high prices, I never saw a penny of that income. This lack of communication and transparency made the experience even more frustrating, and I eventually ended up doing much of the work myself.
Throughout the process, I dealt with numerous no-call-no-shows, which made me feel like my business was not valued at all. This was especially frustrating given that the company seemed to focus on selling to "their friends," rather than honoring their commitments to paying customers. When I tried to get an itemized list of what had sold, I was met with resistance, and was even told that I did not need my house key back, despite not living in the home that was being sold.
Frustration with this company continued after the job was supposed to be completed. I was promised a donation slip and never received one, which meant that I was unable to claim any tax deductions for my charitable contributions. Overall, my experience with Caring Transitions was extremely disappointing, and I would never recommend their services to anyone. I hope that by sharing my story, I can spare others the frustration and heartache that I experienced.
