Cartrack
I registed with cartrack 3years ago. It was on a phone. The lady explained to me that I must make sure that the device is in working order all the time of which I did everyday of my life I would log on to the app to see if it was active.
Last week my car was hijacked I called cartrack in less than 5minutes after the incident and the device was active , the criminals were able to temper with the device in 2min after I contacted cartrack.
Unfortunately they couldn't locate the car and they can't help me with warranty because I did not test the device every 3months of which they never told me about, never signed anything to agree on that.
They sent me the terms and conditions now that I'm claiming. I am feeling very depressed because of this I can't believe i have been scammed 😭😭😭
Desired outcome: Warranty to be paid out as they promised.
Stolen car bit recovered yet
I reported my car stolen I was hijacked and the car tracker agent told us to pay 2850 at that moment coz u was in arrears and 8 did they sent a team to the police station and we asked them if they locate the car they told us that the car last coordination was at alexandra but they didn't even go there till today my car is still there coz I have been doing a follow up searching for it what I'm a paying for

Cartrack charges fees on absolutely anything, including cancelation, changing of packages, transfer from one car to another, even transferring the contract to another person (eg. A new owner of your car). If you wanna decrease your package then your 3 year contract gets renewed. This is ridiculous. I have and will never recommend this company to anyone. No offense to Cartrack workers just doing their job but as far as i can tell, everything regarding cartracks contracts and T&Cs is utter nonsense. When a cartrack worker who shall remain unnamed came to my address to fit my tracker arrived at my house, my car was being borrowed and arrived a few minutes later, i asked if he didnt mind waiting just a few minutes by my place till my car arrives, he replied if he cant come the following day which i didnt mind, he said i should just contact him which was fine, he did not answer his phone when i called nor did he arrive at my place on his own, he told his superiors that he was by my place and no one was here but that was false. If this review gets anywhere i hope it helps people before they commit to cartrack.

Cancellation of contract LIDZ00017 – JD86VZGP
I have joined cartrack around 2017 and there 36 months contract ended on 2020 and I didn't cancel it, I decided to use months to months service until now 2023. Now I called them to cancel and leave cartrack, the consultant said I have to pay R266. 00 for cancelation fee which I don't understand why do I have to pay cancelation fee while I was no longer on contract. I'm very disappointed with their service I won't recommend anyone to join this company.
They send me a Cancellation of contract LIDZ00017 after I have paid the R266.00 now they are saying that i have to pay R146,00 if i dont pay they will blacklist me.
Cartrack breach of contract
3 months ago I informed Cartrack that I sold my vehicle and I would like the unit in my newly bought vehicle activated or the old vehicle's unit to be removed and installed in the new vehicle. It was agreed that the unit be removed from my old vehicle to the new vehicle. Month 1 nothing was done, after sending emails upon emails, nothing was done, same with month 2 and month 3... yet they continue to charge me for the unit and I'm still to this day able to monitor a vehicle I do not own and track this vehicle, without the owner knowing of even agreeing to this, which is a criminal offense. Cartrack tried to draw funds from my account and I immediately stopped it and informed them via email. I was then threatened by them and told they cannot contact me telephonically, only via mail which they still fail to acknowledge. I have countless mails sent to them with no resolution just threats and they blame me, the client, yet they failed to do what was asked and I'm now monitoring a vehicle that doesn't belong to me. If you require the correspondence, please supply an email address where I can send all the emails to.
Desired outcome: Cancel the contract with Cartrack without any fees owing or shortfalls as they breached their own contract.

Im really not happy about you nonsense service i received tonight your bleddy supervisor has not called back spoke to two consultants both escalated the case no1 has called back. If my car is stolen you guys are responsible for this and i wont leave it there.
You guys are so quick so sent us emails we haven't paid,but fail to assist u guys are useless, first time i called to request where my car was and was advised its stationed of which i was driving while and the wrong location was given. While texting this i called u at 7pm and look at the time half 8 no responds.
Car track as a whole is useless
My complaint tree has got multiple branches...
1. I have two vehicles fitted with a Cartrack device, of which one has been non-operational for over 2 yrs now, but they take their money every month.
2. My wife's car had a flat battery the other day, and in the attempt to start it they were very quick to call her up asking what is going on, is she ok etc. Unfortunately, this same car got stolen on the night of the 28th of July 2023 at a church service. Now the funny part is, my wife saw her car was missing from where she has parked it, she has not received a call from Cartrack being alert that the car was moved without the original key, she had to inform them about the car being stolen. On which they first responded by saying they can not speak to her as she is not the account holder, nor is she the owner of the vehicle. Long story short, the car is gone and they failed miserably in all categories, from customer service to vehicle retrieval, as the device was removed with ease not even 1km from where the car was stolen. Won't surprise me if it was an inside job. I will definitely be searching for a better service provider !
Desired outcome: Finding the car would be obviously great, but doubt they have the capability or the will to do so.

My Units were off for couple months, from January 2022 to July 2022.
I was unable to access my app, the truck were not showing on GPS, I even consultants confirmed.
When requested for a technician was told of R600 fee due to out of warranty of the unit.
My argument was refund my monthly fees that I've been paying without service for you couldn't locate my vehicles then I can use that money to pay your R600 fee.
Cartrack doesn't value relationships at all, I it's only nice when collecting my money without service and demand more payment on top of no service.
This is unfair, and I view this in the strongest disapproval of your actions.
The latest incident relates to kkw584mp, same incident, the unit is dead for 3 Months, monthly fees honored, yet demanding R600 fee.
I was phoned by Siyabulela who claimed to be my key account manager, when I related my issues with cartrack, he resorted to sending emails and ran off.
As I speak my truck can't be traced on GPS the argument is R600 which I feel is unfair for you owe me more months of refunds and you're mum.
It's surprising every corner you find your adverts of recruiting customers are yet you're failing dismally of retaining the current ones.
You're busy kicking us out and spending money on advertising, this is sickness and bad decisions at the core

Inadequate reaction and lack of communication and empathy when it mattered the most
Car Track has the worst customer service. They phoned me for a power-off alert, to which I immediately responded that everything was not ok because the driver of that vehicle has been unreachable. According to their recovery team, this was not sufficient confirmation to start the recovery process. Even though I sounded frantic in all my calls. Throughout this ordeal, I made more calls to them, trying to ascertain any progress. Even after the ordeal, I was the one who kept calling for progress and status updates. Their reaction time is questionable and frankly shocking, and their lack of empathy and communication is beyond disappointing.
After several follow-ups on the way forward, they casually informed us that our warranty had expired almost a year ago.
Car Track is a total mess and is overrated. Your car could be on the other side of the planet, and they will still casually tell you they are waiting for confirmation. They couldn't care less about their customers. They will send you from pillar to post while you are dealing with the traumatic experience of being hijacked. The only thing they seem to be good at is taking our money.
Desired outcome: I expect a swift response and some accountability for this appalling lack of delivery of a paid service.
Deduction without my authority
it has come to my attention that car track is deducting money without my concerned and when i ask them no one has answers for me. this is the last massage im sending to them. im taking legal actions against them. they now control the bank im using because they deduct money into my account anytime they wish to deduct and they deduct any amount they wish.

I have now been 3 months without a tracking system yet I am getting multiple calls a day from your accounts department for money I ‘OWE”
Not a single employee or manager has taken ownership to assist or resolve my issues.
I have sent multiple emails to [protected]@cartrack.com and I get are those tickets numbers that mean nothing. NO one ever replies or contacts you urgently. After weeks you eventually get someone who calls , makes promises and disappears and you back at square one.
I wrote off my vehicle in April and the first thing I did was inform Car track and enquired what I can do to remain with you guys. I gave them all the info they required including where vehicle was stored and who to contact. They were supposed to call me back once it was removed so I could have it installed in another vehicle and then pay for the re-installation. Cartrack Billed me R850 but did nothing. After a month I found out the deinstall was never done. After another month of querying I was promised and installer will come out and to date not tracker and no contact. But I still keep getting the accounts department who harass me for the payment but refuse to assist with my query. I have to spoken to 10’s of the call center gents- all called are recorded as I have been speaking to agents since April.
What is astonishing is that I get debited for my premium of R160.00 each month even though I have no tracker and now Car Track started to “FRAUDULENTLY” debit me another R170 to cover the outstanding amount for the re installation. They do this on odd dates thinking I will not notice. How can I or any South African have faith in Car Track after experiencing this.
I want this contracted terminated with immediate effect with no penalties , my premiums and money returned so I can finally get another provider to give me piece of mind and have my vehicle fitted with a tracker and insure my vehicle.

Customer care team is incompetent. My previous car was written off at the beginning of May 2023. I alerted Customer care immediately after being made aware that my car will be written off. I asked them to remove their tracking device before my car being taken to auction. They appreciated that and requested the address where my car is stored of which I provided them with information they requested. I was also advised by them not to cancel my contract so that when I buy a new car they will just send a technician to install my old device to the car. I bought a new car toward the end of May 2023 but to my surprise the old device was never removed from the old. They are now charging me R680 for the new device and I have been paying for the old device as per their advice. I feel that their are robbers robbing people hard earned money.
I am in a similar situation. My vehicle was written off in April after contacting Cartrack , I was advised of the same so I gave them all the info to de-install and nothing was done. 3 months later I still don't have tracker in my vehicle and they are harassing me for the R850 yet the de-install was never done. They then promised to install a device last month and never turned up or even contacted me to date. Numerous emails and calls but no joy. Premium still being debited and ow they started to fraudulently debit me a further R170 to recover the R850 for services not received.
I emailed them to cancel this contract due to poor service and no response but the accounts department contact me twice a day for me to pay the outstanding balance ? I'm at a loss and they just keep debiting my account.
Contract not being canceled
I paid R90 on the 12 of May 2023 and asked that my entire policy be cancelled which clearly was not done. - WHY?
I was informed that a cancellation request was only sent yesterday 13/06/2023.
Why is it that your phone calls are recorded, but no one can put in the effort to go look at why no payments have been made?
Is it my job to follow up and do your job as well? I don't think so.

I started a contract with cartrack in sep 2029. The contract was for 36 months. In sep 2021, I sold thar vehicle and bought a new one. I didn't want to be guilty of breach of contracr, so I conrinyed patinv hntil sep 2022. And I assumed the contract would be done, however end of oct 2022 they deducted again, I contacted them and they said I should put the cancellation in writing, which I did via email. I sort of felt that it was unnecessary because the contract expired in sep 2022. Ok, they never sent anything back. They deducted again in Nov 2022. I then reversed the money and waited for their response, they sent an email saying thaf the debit order was unpaid, they called, I answered, and explained the story again. They said I should cancel via watsapp. I did that. Come Jan 2023. they deducted again, I reversed it again. This batgle was repeated, untill April 2023, when I left a bad review on Helopeter. The day after the bad review thet sent me a confirmation of cancellation letter. Today they sent me a sms saying they are goinv to blacklist me. This is turning inyo harrasment now. I called them, but the lady was unhelpful and couldn't give me a clear answer, I said goodbey. Please helo on a way forward.

I was retrenched back in 2019. I called and spoke to a Car Track accounts deparment. I was advised to cancel the contract if you canot pay your premium.

Unauthorised debit order
I had a 3 year contract with them, but after almost 2 years, my car stopped working. I called them for assistance, but they gave me 2 choices, either pay the cancellation fee or continue. I continued as that was the cheaper option. In the final year, just few months before my 3 year term was to finish, I called them again, in hopes that they would have reduced the fee, but no luck. I told them that my car was still broken down and that I didn't need it this service anymore, but to no avail.
I eventually finished my 3 years, which was in December 2022, but to my surprise, they came to debit my account again in January 2023, of which I reversed it and when they called me, I explained to them that I was done. They then told me that my account was now on a month to month up until I cancel. This shocked me cause these are the same people I've been calling and telling them that I didn't want nor need the tracking system.
They claim to be recording our conversations, but each time I asked them to go back to listen to it so they could clearly hear me saying that I didn't want it, they just kept on telling me that it was escalated to the relevant department.
They continued debiting my account and I continued reversing it, whilst waiting for them to answer that truly they heard it, but they have been stalking my account, and because they have debited twice in a matter of 10 days, I can't reverse it.
I don't owe Cartrack any money. I honoured my 3 years, with tears, and I believe that they should be professional enough to refund my money and close my account.
Please, I need your assistance. This is wrong for them to force their services on people, when they say 3 years, it must be that, until the customer states otherwise.

They continued debiting my money and I reversed it because I've cancelled the contract now they sent me letter of demand saying I owing them 2400. They are scammers . Hi I'm Junior recently signed up for your tracking service on Wednesday I stressed the sense of urgency with the call center agent that was assisting me and he assured me that the device will be installed at my earliest convenience even offered for it to be installed that day however I was unable to commit as I was still at work and had not fetched the car from the dealership but told nonetheless the technician will contact me before the end of the day to schedule an appointment I was very impressed but to my disappointment the agent is yet to contact me I called in today to request an appointment and was scheduled for today till now nothing has happened I'm very disappointed with the service and I'm really concidering another tracking company as I did mention that this is a replacement car for my car that was stolen from my house and I mean the axact model and make hence the sense of urgency but still that wasn't enough now I'm signed up for a non existent tracking system and should anything happen it will be as if I have no tracker I followed up later this afternoon and was assured that the technician will come but was not given a time frame not only did I spend the entire day waiting for one and I'm to assume that you guys will be vigilant in looking after my car while you are taking your time in just installing the unit this is by far the worst service experience I have had with a service provider worse the one that is supposed to be monitoring my car I'm very wary of continuing with you and will definitely tell my friends and family that recommend you that perhaps at the time you were the best but in my eyes your are the worst and surely have reached your client threshold as judging by this experience you are genuinely not interested in signing up new clients I'm very disappointed in you guys
