I received a letter (second time in one year) about an overdue amount on an eBay account #[protected]. I do not have a eBay account. CS#21-[protected]. It states "unless you notify us in 30 days, this office will assume this debt is valid." The [protected] number is just an answering front that gives you the runaround, and can never get you to a supervisor. After several attempts to transfer to a supervisor, the line would go dead. Their address is a P.O. Box, which should sound some alarm bells. The payment portion, that wants your credit card info, is a poor attempt of a photocopy. I notified the local sheriff's office fraud division, they referred me to the better business bureau, they referred me to the BBB in Iowa; nothing happened there either as it was a P.O. box. Somebody has to do something. Florida has some very strict elderly laws, but that went no where either. Don't fall for this SCAM!
I have an account in their collections and told them I am a commission based employee... I get paid once a month on the 23rd.. told them I could take care if it then and I was trying to get an equity loan to pay off some things and refi my home..2 days before I could make the payment, they hit my credit report again! lowering my score by 24 points... screwing my chances of getting ahead.
Shame on you cbe... I made arrangements and you screwed me!
We received a letter from CBE Group regarding a debt from Verizon Wireless, my company has never had an account with Verizon Wireless. They are now calling to try and collect on that debt that does not exist.
I have received phone calls from CBE Group noting they represent medicare and wanted my number to double check if I am getting all my benefits. I told them if they were checking on my benefits they should already know my number and would know my number. I told them I think this was a scam so they could sell my number on the dark web.
I think it comes preinstalled in lifeline cell phone as well because every time talking to someone near my cell phone cbe group calls my number, privacy and information should not be stolen like this. Why is our government even giving people lifeline phones from China and India instead of making in the USA anyway. The private companies given the lifeline contracts are outsourcing all aspects of it from customer service to phones that come preinstalled with bloat and spywear.
I am currently receiving calls from them regarding a debt where statute of limitations has been expired for more than 5 years. I start receiving texts from some woman there on my personal cell phone, she's graciously offering to settle for a principal amount without interest or late charges. I texted her back and said whatever this is about you need to send it to me in writing via certified mail, and you should know that. Then I told her specifically do not text me again and do not call this number if you do I will report you for harassment. Then I blocked her number that's how you deal with these people. Selling dead and invalid debt back and forth is how these people make a living.
Received a letter state a past due charges for service i never had. They even sent me a statement for a service in CA. which is on the other side of the US from here.. Never been to CA and don't want to either.. I believe this to be scamming people out of monies they do not owe.. The world would be a better place with out internet or cell phones. My grand parent lived without this and it was a much better place. People did not have access to all our stuff and know every time we took a crap. VENT OVER.
