warranty not honored. it is winter and we have no heat and nothing is being done.
It is winter in wisconsin, the end of october. My furnace has quit working. I called on thursday morning to report a claim to choice home warranty. It is now friday night. After calls to the main number I have been told they don't know who, if anyone, has been called in our area about servicing our furnace. There are four main companies for heating in our area... Have they called any of them? They don't seem in any hurry to help us since it is winter and we have no furnace in our home. After we purchased the warranty (after weeks of daily, multiple phone calls asking us to buy... They even kept calling us after we had purchased a plan) we discovered that they are not a reliable company. My son, who owns his own electrical business as a master electrician, has worked for them and never been paid. After months of argument he has finally given up. How can they expect to get people to work for them if they won't pay their workers. I know my son never will work for them again. Is this the same with heat/furnace contractors in our area? Is this why we haven't had anyone look at our furnace yet...in winter when it is cold?

We put in two separate claims on two different occasions on our refrigerator and both times they refused coverage because one, the pre approved claim was denied so we paid the service fee for nothing! We put in another claim because now the refrigerator stopped working all together! We produced receipts showing that repairs had been successfully completed and that this was a new claim but it was denied because the repairman Choice sent out said the prior repairman did a faulty job and so it's once again not covered and we paid the service call fee for nothing again! Oh! And they took forever to send someone out so we inconvenienced for over three weeks! I think it's a scam! Stay away from this company!

I'm policy holder with Choice Home Warranty cience June 2017.
I renewed my contract in June 2019 and this time i was offered that if i pay for 3 years they will give me special deals.
7 months free coverage. I expected and paid.
In August my house has water leak called Choice they sent technician this guy told me in advance before he finished diagnosis. These companies don't pay most of the time. He made an offer by saying Sir if they don't pay for your claim let me know i will do the job you pay me directly.
In process of diagnosis he broke my Bedroom wall.
Sure enough Choice declined claim by saying this leaked is not covered as diagnosis.
Well i called out side company and diagnosis was totally different so i got that don by my self.
October 5th hot water heater go's out called Choice tech comes i pay service fee he ignited water heater and left. Next day same thing happened again i called Choice same guy comes and this time diagnosis that water heater tank is leaking in.
Sir call me if they don't cover your water heater he said.
Sure enough Choice declined my claim.
Finally this time i called to cancel this coverage and they cancelled the coverage but didn't return my money of 2 years and 8 months of premium.
I have paid $1050 for 3 years.
They returning $218 Out of $1050 results of canceling fee bla bla bla.
I got so angry that don't wanted to stay on phone with these people.
Please be careful with this Company I'm convinced that they will not pay any big claim. Most of claim you pay service fee any way.

I agreed to a 5-year home warranty plan on my home and on my vacation condo totaling $4, 200 ($2, 100 for each policy). I paid by credit card. Within 3 days, I called to cancel both policies and was told I would receive a refund within 30 days. I followed up exactly 30 days later. I was told that checks were sent; however, they were mailed to my vacation condo, 4 hours away. I asked if the checks could be canceled and my credit card credited or checks be reissued. I was told it could take 90 days to process my request and that I would be charged $30 cancellation fee for each check. Mailing the checks to the wrong address is not my error, so charging me to cancel the checks is wrong in so many ways. Why wouldn't Choice simply credit the credit card? My credit card bill is due in 10 days, but I'm on the hook to pay my bill or incur interest and late fees. I don't recommend working with Choice when their business practices are so antiquated. It appears they only want to keep as much of your money as they possibly can.
roof leak coverage.
The limited roof leak coverage is another scam. They will not pay you and keep making excuses. I had half a dozen contractors come and look at it. First they said that a valley is a partial roof replacement and will not be covered. Then they tell me a nail was put too close to the valley. Hence due to improper install they will not pay for the leak. They just try to find a reason to deny all claims.

I contacted claims department with Home warranty I have a voice recordings that I record every phone call conversation give me prior approval ahead of time to allow the technician my choice to come out to my home it would take too long for the their technician to come. Before I even made the appointment I explain to them that they cannot call in and I was told as long as I have the paperwork that shouldn't be a problem. Now they're denying my claim because I didn't follow protocol allowing the technician the car. And yet I have for recorded phone call conversations, now five. explaining and it appears they are going to drag her feet again.
Every single phone call I recorded showing proof that they gave me the approval and yet they are still denying it. Even when they told me that I was following protocol and now they’re saying I’m not so therefore people need to contact the CEO, Consumer affair, BBB and the AG of NJ if they still do not Comply with the contract.

We have multiple workorders that are unpaid. We recieved the authorization code from the authorization department for a certain amount. Then over a month later we recieve a check for less than half that amount. When we call them to discuss it, they tell us that they changed the amount to there sugested cost. We have called multiple times and get the same answer. Now our account is on hold/ locked, and because of that we havent recieved any other payments for other invoices that have been submitted for payment. They owe us thousands of dollars.

I called them regarding my refrigerator and it took them 5 days to come to my home. Everything was ruined, After their technician called four times saying he was running a little late, he finally showed up 5 hours late. He didn´t speak any English and told me my compressor in my Monogram GE was shot and it was going to cost me $1500 and of course Choice said they wouldn´t cover it. So I called a real electrician and he told me no way was it the compressor and then came of and replaced the converter for $350.
I also needed my AC fixed and they lied and said the tech said it was rusty and damaged and it wasn´t.
This company has declined ALL of our orders that should have been accepted by them, I am a realtor and will never recommend this company again.

I requested and received a quote from Choice Warranty Company about 6 months ago. I never purchased the warranty. They contact me from several different numbers approximately 10 - 15 times a day. After I block one number, they call from a different one When I don't answer my cell phone, they call my work number. I have called them back and asked that they remove my name and number from their data bank and they have just laughed. I would never consider this warranty company especially now with all the harassing phone calls daily. Could you imagine how they would be if I were giving them my money! OMG!

While I cannot say much about the warranty part for this company as I had no claims during the one year with the company, I CAN SAY THAT THEIR MARKETING AND TELEMARKETING PRACTICE IS HORRIFIC! THEY DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER AND KEEP CALLING MY PERSONAL CELL PHONE EVERYDAY, GETTING ME OUT OF THE SHOWER OR STOPPING ME FROM WHAT I AM DOING, JUST TO ASK ME TO RENEW MY HOME WARRANTY WITH THEM. THIS STARTED 3 MONTHS BEFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AND IT IS THE BIG FLAG THAT KEPT ME FROM RENEWING WITH THEM. Honestly, I had no issues with them. I would have renewed, BUT NOT ANYMORE! And I will go ahead and I will leave as many reviews as I can with various websites online. I get phone calls from a different phone number EVERYDAY! And they do not get it, I WILL NOT EVER, renew my home warranty with them.

Choice Home warranty company sent an non licensed plumber out to our property. Contractor said leak in wall was not covered.
We said ok believing him he said it would cost 790.00 to repair.
He said their were additional leaks from the pressure test. He never did one.
Again believing Choice stood behind their contractors we paid an additional 320.00.
He never showed back up to do any of it.
Contacted Texas Plumbing board and his license expired of a year ago. Choice did not care and said he had insurance.
They also said they were not responsible for him or they money we were out.

refusal to pay $849.99 for oven repairs
Choice Home Warranty's representative told me on June 5, 2019 that this company would send me a check in the next 20 days for $849.99 for their internal estimate of repairs to a $7, 200 Viking double gas oven. When I called on September 18, their representative said they would not pay, because the "bank refused monthly payment". Why would I continue to pay Choice Home Warranty after they only paid a fraction of the cost of replacing the Viking double gas ovens?

CHOICE HOME WARRANTY is a fake company, They loot people around, I bought house insurance asking for specific part for my Air Conditioner if they cover, i have email confirmation that yes they cover, i then had a field technician from there company

so that fake companies like these will stop looting poor peoples money because its our hard earn money after all.

We live in the south and it has been over 80 degrees inside our home since the end of June! Choice Home Warranty refuses to pay any claim they think they can get by not paying. This is the worst warranty company I have ever encountered and would never advise anyone to purchase a warranty through them. I have 2 small children and health problems that have worsened since going all summer without a working system. We are all suffering because of greed over a policy I paid good money to protect my home! They will do anything to get out of paying a claim. Unfortunately, I bought a 5 year warranty...which they refuse to refund as well. They are criminal and should be forced out of business! I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and more than likely will consult an attorney it is so bad.

I worked with choice for a couple weeks, did two calls for them then waited to see how they paid and how they worked before doing any other calls. Thank goodness I did. The first call they covered nothing for the customer/homeowner so he paid my hvac company in full. The 2nd call was a simple fix $75 service fee and $98 to replace the capacitor discounted from normal of $168 due to it being a warranty co. The customer paid $60. They authorized us for The remainder 15.00 on the service fee/trip fee/diagnosis and $98 to replace the capacitor. After almost 5 months of emailing each week about payment. I was always promised payment the following week. I have this in multiple emails from Jessica Kent Walkins. She even stated in August it was expedited for payment. Still 4 weeks later nothing. I contacted customer and told her unfortunately your warranty wont pay you are responsible. She called them and a week later I received $35. Not the $113 they approved and authorized with autho # [protected] before work was completed. This isnt even that much. To take 5 months to pay then short us is horrible. I want others to be aware they are one of the co. that will tell you go a head do the work we will pay you the amount you state, but then ultimately pay you way under as they did our company. Ive worked with other warranty's like 210 and home warranty of america who did similar things so I knew to be aware. I wanted other contractors to be aware as well and customer signing up with them. If they dont pay ultimately the contractor can hold the home owner responsible. The home owner agreed to pay me the remainder balance, however I wrote it off and just suggested she cancel with choice and recommended a better co.

On 4th July, 2019, I was contacted by a marketer from Choice Home Warranty (CHW) to purchase their warranty service. Seeing important appliances covered, I purchased a year service with policy number [protected]. We have a very well-maintained A/C unit at our home working perfectly for 26 years without any breakdown. On August 20th, suddenly, this unit refused to switch on. We filed a claim with CHW the same day. Next week, CHW fixed an appointment for TLJD Mechanical LLC to visit our house to fix the A/C with the expectation that we will pay a service fee of $65. TLJD is a dubious A/C technician in Baton Rouge. They do not have any star rating. On arriving, they demanded around $200 extra from my pocket saying that they will not work without that and CHW does not cover this work (they were supposed to get the machine started). Since it was too hot (close to 100F) and I have young children in my household, I had to give in to their demands. They got the machine started. Less than 2 weeks after this service call, I recognized that the A/C was not cooling at all (on 7th Sept, 2019). I called CHW and they recalled TLJD to come back again.
This time they charged $125 for a leak test. All the while TLJD, was offering monthly financing to replace my A/C. A leak was detected outside my house where the machine is. They said they will report to CHW for taking it further. Within 30 minutes, I received an email that my claim has been denied due to rust, corrosion, and non-maintenance (for an A/C that has been maintained so well to last for 26 years). I appealed and was assigned a case manager Mr. Steven McGee whom I contacted after multiple calls. He responded that he got photographs of rust and corrosion and on my insistence emailed one of them. It was photograph from the attic whereas the leak was outside. Based on this
photograph, CHW rejected my claim. I feel cheated and that CHW is a scam. I have to live without A/C with my young children at 100 F.
Update: On 12th September, 2019, I got the same A/C checked by a reputed technician. Their report is attached in their letterhead. They have emailed their report to Mr Mcgee from their own email address. The report clearly says that the failure is due to natural causes and age. This is a contradiction to that of the dubious technician that CHW sent who reported that the failure is due to corrosion and rust.

Ran several calls for choice home warranty and had a very rude cohort of theirs call to make a false claim and now they will not pay the money they owe. they are totally rude and you get a sense that you are dealing with a bunch of criminals when you call them.
We have about ten to fifteen calls that were approved for payment by them and never paid

We have a very similar experience with Choice Home Warranty. We ran over 20 calls and they only agreed to pay a few of them. I will be filling a claim in my local court and you should too. If they pay enough legal fees they will stop their scam. I also plan to write to the US Attorney and SCC - to investigate this company

Aug 8 19 I filed a claim in Hawaii and they could not get anyone out to fix my A/C. They have a reimbursement program if you get someone out to check the system. I had someone check it who I believe was really trying to say what he thought would get them to pay for the replacement of the system. Based on his findings they said they don't cover rusted coils and freon leaks. Not believing that was the real assessment or even fair I asked for a second opinion.
The customer service representative was extremely rude and not helpful. She did not seem to want to help. Finally, after having to repeat myself over and over she finally agreed to have another contractor come out. She said I couldn't get reimbursed for the first one but she would try to have the second come for no charge. Once again no one was found and I remain in a house over 80 plus degrees.
Again, I found an A/C company to send out a technician last Friday the 6th. This tech, from a larger company, said there was no way the first guy could have seen any leaks in coils or got the freon pressure to see there was a leak because the condensor is down. He even tried to force start it. When I told him they said the coils were bad and that the company does not consider that normal wear and tear, he said that it is normal here in Hawaii where the salt water eats up everything and after 16 years there is no way you can expect anything else. I emailed his write up and explanation to the the appeals representative assigned to my case.
When I woke up this morning 9 Sep, I called her to check. She said they denied the claim again. The funny part is she quoted the issues sited by the first technician. When I tried to explain to her that she was talking about an old assessment all she could say is that someone will email me the info. Finally, I got the email that, once again, quoted the information provided by the first tech. They still are not taking into account the new assessment and continue to deny my claim. They won't even reimburse either of the service calls.
Their coverage does not cover anything like rust or corrosion. For a person that is not a technician, it is hard to understand the trap that you are walking into with this company. The customer service is rude and unhelpful and they do more work to keep you away then to try and help. I will be sending this to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who will listen and help.

pool pump
4031 Quail Briar Dr, Valricco Fl 33596. in April 2019 the pool pump quit working and it was replaced by Pete Jorgensen.. It worked for a while until August 4. The pump quit again. Jorgensen was contacted and he came out and got it running. A week later {approximately} the pump quit again. it would not run. He then removed it and took it to return to the company he purchased it from. As of Sep 7 he has not returned to replace it. I am not happy about the way this whole warranty was handled. As of now the pool is filthy and over run with algae.. I need this pump replaced and up and running. The pump he replaced it with is out of production, My contract #is [protected]. The latest claim #is [protected]. Chuck cooper [protected]. The photo below is of the pump which he replaced. This is the one out of production. If he replaced it with the same pump I expect to have the same problem. I would like it to be replaced with a name brand pump. He should have ordered a name brand pump and installed it rather than remove it and wait for another one to come in, Which there is no time table when they decide to ship him another pump.
