I have subscribed and paid into Choice Home Warranty 08/25/2014 - 08/25/2019.
Now my a/c unit has gone out and I have filed claim.
Yesterday I received this by e-mail: "Your claim was submitted on 08/22/18 and was assigned to JR Maintenance Technician Service on 08/22/18. On 08/23/18 the technician submitted details pertaining to your system failure. It has been determined that the air conditioning unit is not cooling properly due to a faulty compressor. The unit was found with restricted airflow in the condensing unit as a result of dirt and debris build up. This has caused improper operation and over heating which has caused an internal failure of the compressor. This failure did not occur under normal wear and tear conditions."
However JR Maintenance Technician Service never responded this problem and did not come on site or inspect our unit. We had to hire an independent contractor to do this.
We have since gotten 2 more inspection and they all agree with the first on-site inspection that natural wear and tear are to blame and the unit should be covered.
I have asked Choice One for a copy of JR Maintenance Technician Service's report and they deny having one to send me
I would not recommend Choice One Warranty to anyone unless they also invest in Legal Shield and are prepared to fight for their claim.
They are doing the same thing to me. Unit failed due to normal wear and tear and they are saying lack of maintenance made it overheat! Exact same wording. I also have outside verification and proof of maintenance. Denying my claim. Worst customer service ever, if you can get anyone on the phone.
Same here. They attempted to blame everything possible to breach their contract. Had it fixed myself, even though two techs (including their own) stated it should be covered under their contract terms. Put together all evidence and am now sueing them for breach of contract. They're the worst!
September 21, 2018 They had a tech to come to my residence because the A.C. wasn't working. They stated due to normal wear and tear is the reason its not operating. However, the unit is less than five years old. They denied my claim less than 20 minutes after the tech submitted the paperwork. This is the third claim that they have denied. I had to pay over 800.00 to replace a water heater, because the warranty didn't cover the issue. I had to repair the oven, because the warranty don't cover the issue..Oh, they mailed me a check for 299.00 to purchase a oven after I had to call numerous of times to complain. What oven cost $299.00 ? Now I have to pay 1, 800.00 to repair the A.C. I purchase a plan for 1, 260.00 from 1/2017 to 7/01 2020 . I have received only 299.00 on all repairs. This is ridiculous. What do the 1, 260.00 cover ? A home warranty is for homeowners to protect themselves with replacement or repairs. This company is not TRUSTED or PROFESSIONALLY. Claims are filed and denied. The customer pays the co payment and the technician fee without CHOICE assistance. I recommend that you don't purchase a warranty with CHOICE. Its false advertisement and a rip-off. I'm not benefiting from the warranty. I'm paying for my own repairs and if I cancel I lose 1260.00 ...Legal actions will follow...
They think of one excuse after the other. Anything to not pay a claim. They should be put out of business!
