CHS Group Illegality and ignorance

I am a tenant of the Cambridge housing society, not of my own choice, and lately I have been receiving relief from the council for my low income status. They haven't been paying it and the bill for the rental for the property has built up to around two thousand pounds. I have lived in the property for around six years and the housing society has within our contract agreed to maintain the property. Since the council hasn't been helping me pay the rent there has been a shortfall and the housing society has taken me to court for the access which is around two thousand pounds. I have had to decorate the property myself and pay whatever bills I have to pay but I've been paying around five times too much for electricity since I've been in the property because the housing society hasn't done any of the repairs or upgrades to the gas boiler system so I have to pay to heat the property and water from electricity alone. Furthermore I have had to decorate the property several times because of the leaks from above me. These decorations and the five times too large electricity bill is in the region of around two to three thousand pounds also. The housing society that once again is supposed to be a caring charity has now got an order of possession on the grounds that I owe them two thousand pounds. I wasn't invited to defend myself in the Cambridge County Courts. I am very disappointed at this ignorance and can only wonder how a court would give such an order without a defence and how a social housing group is so social and uncaring to its clients. I think this charity could certainly be a lot more charitable and not so ignorant!
