gum on seat
I just came back with my wife from your San Mateo, CA location. I attended the 3:45 pm showing of Spiderman 3d showing on Sunday, July 9th.
My complaint is that there was gum on my wife's chair. Not only did it ruin the movie experience, it also damaged my wife's pants. She was wearing Lulu lemon leggings which are quite expensive. The gum was on top of the chair (not underneath) and there was a large amount.
I will have to send my wife's leggings to a dry cleaner and would like to be compensated for that amount. I think that is a reasonable request.
I have pictures of my wife's leggings which clearly show the gum. We did attempt to scrape it off but could not withour risking more damage to the pants.
I can also provide pictures of the movie ticlet and any other information.
food
My girl friend has food poisoning from the chicken strips and has been suffering in the bathroom since 6 pm. It's now 1 am and the lady manager I spoke to at 11:45 was not only rude but acted without concern like this was an everyday occurrence. SOMEONE needs to save others from this. I will file a complaint with public health and safety and want to see something done about this. No one should go through the pain and suffering taylor is going through. This is houston hedspeth. My number is [protected]. Something needs to be done.
Call 1-800-CINEMAR. Tell them your concern. Proper food handling practices are not being followed at that location and that is a problem
the xd advertisement preceding every cinemark movie
I urge you to REMOVE the XD advertisement ("unicorn") us viewers get subjected to that plays without fail preceding each and every film. The insultingly low IQ level, the excruciating audio, and the nerdy white-lab coated actor are insults to your viewer's intelligence. I'll bet I'm not the only one gritting my teeth each time that horrible advertisement comes on. LOSE IT.
Unfortunately each location is required to show that, to showcase the technology as stated in the contract with the good people who provide the XD. It sucks, but there it is. Learn to ignore it.
kids summer movies
Listed online that Coastal Grand Cinemark is offering $1 movies for kids. Theater says they Hv not done this for years and didn't offer any compensation. I was not prepared to pay for 4 tickets and Hv kids upset that they then couldn't get popcorn. Please don't advertise what you are not honoring! It's hard explaining to kids why we can't see the movie they thought, then Hv to purchase tickets and not Hv the money for snacks. We drove by two theaters to get here. Management didn't seem to care and didn't offer any resolution.
Why should the theater compensate you for some idiot falsely advertising something. I checked out the Cinemark website and that location is not advertised as doing the Summer Kids Club this year. Why should they be responsible because someone else not associated with Cinemark said they were?
www.myrtlebeachforfamilies.com does not = www.cinemark.com Just for future reference
movie theater website epic failure
These people are complete idiots! I tried to by tickets online and checkout as a guest. The want me email. I put my email in and the site says my email is already used. So I try to log in. It says my account is locked out for 5 minutes because of multiple login failures (I only tried once).
If you are going to have a web based business, you should make sure your website purchase process functions! I think this is the responsibility of the Cinemark CEO. Mr Zoradi, you are a complete idiot!
But, Mr Zuelke, you're still doing a great job! :)
new gift card limit rule
I went to your Antelope Valley Mall location to purchase gift cards for end of the year gifts for my daughters' teachers. I wanted to purchase 15, $20 gift cards (I have two daughters, each with 6 teachers each, plus principal, office staff, etc). I was told that there is now a 5 gift card limit. This is absolutely ridiculous. I was paying in cash, but they would still not sell me additional gift cards. So I have two options. 1. Come back on three separate visits, which defers the purpose because I would still be purchasing 15 gift cards, just at an inconvience to me or 2. Take my business elsewhere and they lose out on $300 (cash) from me, plus all the extra $$ those teachers may have spent in your concession area when they used those gifts over the summer. I'm not sure who made that stupid rule, but I think I'll go take my business elsewhere
overall run down place
Came to the cinamark Hollywood 20 Pasadena Tx. This location the icee machine was down, place was filthy, went into theater for our movie and the seats were broken and worn out. The arm rests were coming off and tied on with a plastic bag. I paid almost $100.00 to take my family to a movie and get this experience? I cannot believe you even have movies playing in theaters that are like this. The theater was even warm and musty . The restrooms are a mess and smell like urine, does this place get cleaned? I am so disappointed in my experience to this theater.
the no food policy
I am a diabetic and I take insulin and I have been coming to the movies in Lancaster and other area for years. The Cinemark in Lancaster California theatre movie s12 number 026 has let me bring my drink because my sugar level be up and down. But today I was denied to be allowed to bring my drink in. They told me that the policy is that I can't and I do not feel that is right because of my illness if people with other disability can bring what help them with their disability why can't I? Is it because of the profit that is made with food sale in the movie. I cannot afford to pay for the food in the movies.
I'm not sure why you can't buy your drink there. You're not talking about a specialty drink that is the only thing to take care of your medical needs, I assume you're talking about bringing in a 32-44 oz fountain drink from Stop-N-Go, which is definitely not fair to the other patrons or the emoployees who are working hard to give everyone a good moviegoing experience. Now, if your problem is you truly can't afford the prices (even though Cinemark offers many coupons for deals along with free items when you put your phone into Cinemode) then maybe you could talk to the general manager about your special needs and maybe ask if you can keep a small can of coke in your bag or coat in case your blood sugar does bottom out. But please, don't use a perfectly manageable condition as an excuse to "beat the system."
lack of showing of the zookeeper's wife
Hi. I live in Eugene Oregon. I was anticipating the showing of The Zookeeper's Wife. I have Jewish and non Jewish friends who also were planning on seeing it. Why have you chosen to not show this important movie here in a university town/area? It is important that our kids know the truth of what happened and they see the wickedness of antisemitism.
Please reconsider and show this film.
- Kelly
Unfortunately some movies are "limited release" which means they only show in select theaters. The amount of theaters they can be shown in is limited so the studios decide where they'd make the most money. Take heart, though. If the movie does well enough it will be released to a more extensive market and you may be able to take your children to see it.
management
I currently work at the 474 Cinearts in Santana Row. People are quitting left and right. Apparently it's been that way for years. It's so blatantly obvious that it's because of the managers/management. Today, the managers waiting until 5pm to try and get someone else to come in because we are short staffed. One person was scheduled but he quit a week ago. This could have been handled a week ago. Instead, I am the only person work concessions today. This has happened multiple times. They are constantly on their phone, never working. Only 1 manager actually works. The rest don't help us whatsoever. I have complained before to HR about their management. I hurt my foot on the 13 and it took them over a week and me contacting HR for them to even talk to me about workman's comp. I burned my foot. I had a doctor's note for me not to walk. They still asked me to do multiple duties that include mopping, sweeping, cleaning, restocking...You name it. They do not care one inch about the employees here and it shows. I love working here but if you're wondering why so many people quit, it's because of them.

kettle corn machine broke down still...
hello, for the last 3 or so months the Kettle corn machine has been broke down at the weisfield mall in Olympia Washington.every time we ask the workers they say it is broken and it will be a long time before it will be fixed. This is the main reason we go to this theater in Olympia Washington, capital mall. we have been to the movies at least 5 times now and the same answer every time. When we press for a date on when it will be fixed it is the same answer ohhh it will be a long time. If cine mark is doing away with the kettle corn just say so. If they plan on switching to the powder crap in the bottle for people to purchase like regal theaters don't bother it is disgusting. We would like the Kettle Korn machine fixed or just let people know it is not available anymore.
thank you
marketplace theater in tucson
I bought seats front and center exactly where i wanted, and when i arrived they were taken by two very rude customers who refused to give them back. So i watched my movie frustrated and from the side. Its the damn principle. I want my money back for the movie and the refreshments i was too upset to eat. You should guarantee the seats or font let people purchase specific ones.
So when you told an usher or management that 2 people were in your reserved seats what did they do? It's not the theaters to automatically know what you look like and what seats you reserved. You have to tell them there's a problem!
seating
I purchased tickets in the Springfield, OR theater to see Logan. The movie was very full and there were only a few seats left. This was the first time I have attended a movie since the luxury seating went in. I was not told that the seats we selected were in the front - I thought they were in the back row. When I was seated, the row was so ridiculously close to the screen to could hardly see it. The row shouldn't even exist there! I walked out of the movie and got a refund and had to sit in the lobby for 2 hours waiting for the rest of my party to finish the movie as they were in different seats. The front row needs to be removed!
There's always going to be a "front row". Your "too close to the screen" isn't necessarily the same for someone else. Logically in a very full theater you will not find empty seats in the back. It's common sense, but you're complaining that the box office staff should have assumed you didn't have common sense. No sympathy here.
double charge on internet ticket sale - will not respond
Friday, Jan. 13th bought 2 tickets on line for a movie: Confirmation # [protected] - I only entered my card in once.
I noticed on Sunday that I was charged $25.80 twice. I called (could not get through) so I emailed. Received a response back with this support case: #217158 over a week ago. Still nothing back. This is so unacceptable. I need a refund.
It shouldn't take that long to fix that issue. When I was a manager I would keep in touch with the customer to make sure the issue got resolved one way or the other. I'm sorry you had to deal with this. I hope it's been cleared up by now
new seating policy
1/7/2017
I went to a movie with a friend, and we were paying separately. I was told the new policy is that all seats will be assigned prior to the movie, and you can no longer just go into the theater and sit down. I asked what if my friend chooses a seat and someone else gets the one next to her. They said they'd have to refund the ticket to reassign us seats. I find this new practice to be very impractical, and annoying. I ended up feeling like I was sitting in the middle seat of a plane. It was awful! Who at Cinemark decided this was a good idea? What's next...pay extra for what they consider premium seats? It made for a very uncomfortable experience. It's bad enough I have to watch commercials, now this.
I went into the movie 15 minutes before it started. When I chose my seat it was an empty row. Then suddenly people were crowding in around me. It was a pretty empty theater only 1/4 full if that so I was surprised. We were blocked in and couldn't move to new seats. Where and from whom have you received this positive feedback? I wonder where this idea started in the first place. Plus, I don't ever wait in line more than a few minutes. Not sure what movie theater you patronize. I've also never experienced the sneaking kids in thing. That's on the theater if they let that happen. Good for you if you like the new policy. I don't and have started going to Regal so I can sit wherever I want.
Wow, that's strange. When I worked for Cinemark we never refused to let patrons change their seats if others were available. I'm surprised that when you noticed other people choosing to reserve seat near you and you went and asked if you could switch seats they said "no." That's not standard policy. And, yes, when I was a manager I did get a lot of positive feedback from people who came in and chose their seats in advance and therefore did not have to arrive 2 hours early to get a decent seat. Also, I'm sure you, as a customer, never had to deal with theaters being overfull because some of the people in there did not in fact buy tickets to that movie, but I assure you that the management team at those theaters DID have to deal with it. Reserved seating is one of the ways to avoid sneaking issues rather than hiring a whole team of people to interrogate each and every patron who walks in.
There has been a lot of positive feedback to the new RESERVED seating. You choose your own seats. This eliminates the need to wait in line for 2 hours. This eliminates the issues when people sneak in their children and fill up the theater when there should still be seats available. This protects YOU the consumer. If you wind up sitting somewhere you don't want to it's because you chose that seat because you didn't feel like waiting for a later, more empty show. That's on you.
movie theatre
Went here to Paducah, KY location 42001 employee sees me buy ticket and follows me to theatre and accuses me of sneaking in. I got a manager who was even more hateful and said "I told him to be on the look out for kids sneaking in" and lextured me like a child. Won't be going back here after 10 years of going. However, Jon, the guy that sold me the ticket was very friendly. HE should be the manager.
There's no excuse for that. Unless you bought a ticket to a kids show and then snuck into a rated R show because you're underage.
general manager
This is a concerned employee who works at the cinemark 1052 location. I would like to start off by saying ive gone through the proper channels to try and get this issue solved . It seems like im being ignored because i'm the only person at this location who takes these steps to complain .Others don't reach out to cinemark to complain because they feel like nothing will get solved, they feel like how they are treated doesn't matter to upper management at cinemark. This is the situation my general manger, wendy gulledge doesn't treat us well at all. Her attitude towards is very rude and hostile . When ive tried to talk to her she doesn't listen and she always talk over me when i try to explain things. One situation that recently happened was one of my coworkers called out of work because he needed emergency dental work done and he need to finish up some homework. So when he returned to work she confronted him and told him that his dental work and his homework weren't important and that cinemark comes first . The second situation that happened was today one of my coworkers forgot her work shoes so she had to wear a different pair of shoes. So when my general manger came in at 4:30 she confronted my fellow coworker about it, she tried to explain herself but mrs gulledge wouldn't listen and mrs gulledge asked her what would her father say . Things like this shouldn't be okay . Something needs to be done because we deserve to be treated better than this. I work hard for cinemark and im a great employee and so are my other co workers, actions should be taken because if we were to treat our customers the way wendy gulledge treats us we wouldn't have any customers to serve this kind of treatment towards employees has been going on for almost five years now . I’ve tried not to say anything for the fear of losing my job but something needs to be done . I know we care deeply about customer service but we should also have" employee service" too. Cinemark should care deeply about its employees and the way they are being treated . She needs to be held accountable for the way she treats us after all she is the general manager.
customer service
I came in to the Taylor cinemark in Michigan with my family. WE purchased our tickets and ordered food at witch point we experienced very rude employees that seemed to have better things to do than deal with us. Do I ask to speak to a manager at witch point I was directed to a miss Joans witch I must say had shown us where the employees get there customer service skills. While talking to her she rolled her eyes and also said she was not surprised. We seen our movie great screen and sound quality. I still was bothered by the service so I ask to speak to someone higher up. They point me to a miss turell witch was out front smoking her attitude was even worse she seemed to be higher then us and should not be bother with our issues. I started to write a review on Google only to not be surprised there were many complaints same as mine with these so called managers names mentioned. Maybe your not aware of these issues but many people are not coming in because of this I know I will not return nor will I recommend anyone to your establishment. So sad a theater this nice being ran by such horrible people. Thank you for your time.
rude security guard
On October 22 I went to the North Hollywood Cinemark. I am recovering from a stroke and move rather slowly - I felt the need to urinate at one point and did not judge that I could make it to the restroom in time, so I used one of the trash cans. One of the security guards interrupted me and said "How dare you! That's a health hazard!" I don't see how urine, which comes out of the body sterile, can be a health hazard in a trash can that no one is liable to dig around in, nor do I suppose that a security guard's training includes an instruction to prevent people from urinating in a trash can because it's a health hazard, so I can only assume that this employee made that up. Even if that's not true, however, as I told the employee, I don't object so much to that, nor even to being thrown out of the theater - what I objected to was his contempt. He replied "I have a lot of contempt for that." Since I didn't see the entire movie that I paid for, I'd like a refund, and I think that security guard could do with some additional training in customer relations no matter what he sees customers doing.
Urine is "sterile" because it hasn't yet been exposed to the environment outside your body. It's still has your diseases and your bacteria and I assure you the people who have to clean up those garbage cans don't want to mess with that. Plus public urination can get you arrested and labeled a SEX offender. But then, I'm sure you're just an ### who should really not be allowed in public. GOOD JOB to that security guard! I hope he didn't get in trouble for your stupidity.
Stroke or not, you are an idiot.
Manager discrimination, abuse of power & position. Unfair, hostile & disgusting work environment
I am an employee at this cinemark theatre, & I was just suspended for not informing a supervisor or manager before going to QSR to get a cup of coffee. Let me first start by saying, I acknowledge that I did not tell anyone where I went because I was not on my register at concession, as I was filing up the refrigerators with waters, & juices so it escaped my mind. But, for my manager to give me the death stare, as I'm walking over to get a cup of coffee because I am tired from working at night, since I am not used to it; is unacceptable, because my general manager is a tall heavyset, former pro wrestler so for him to stare at me in a threatening manner, makes me & all the other employees feel very uncomfortable. The managers here, choose exactly what "problems" they want to fix or address. Our general manager, constantly tries to establish his dominance by staring at every employee with darkness in his eyes. Along with about 3 other managers, who exhibit racist tendencies, everyday. My complaint, is because I was suspended because of a previous write up from March, that included things about me that were untrue, I remember them as being untrue because when I was written up in March, my General Manager decided to tell me exactly what I did because after I explained my problem to him, he figured he knew different. He said I was angry because two employees got to go home early instead of me, but from the first days I worked here they told me the first person to come in is the first person asked to leave early. & I was one of the first to come in, but here comes an angry employee who goes up to a manager who favors him & asks him to go home, BECAUSE he is upset. Which, did upset me because I wasn't even shown the respect that I feel I deserve especially after 3 years w this company. When I get written up, it's never written done in fact, why I am getting written up or in trouble. Because lies need to be added to be read, from the managers perspective to justify writing me up. Most of the times I get in trouble, it's from a disagreement w a manager. Which in Manchester, is the worst thing you can do disagree w your manager & you risk losing your job.
Managers, talk down, & purposely hurt employees feelings, any chance they can. Just last week, a manager Ms. Czaya who is Caucasian, told my coworker & friend Shaun, who is African-American, to go pop popcorn, his response was "okay" & because he did not immediately start walking to the popper, (which is never cleaned properly... Just like every inch of concession & the theatre in general) she decided to get literally within an inch of his face, into his personal space & start yelling at the top of her lungs trying to push his buttons to get a reaction. She followed him, close enough for him to feel her breath on his back all the way to the popcorn popper saying, "you got a problem?! Is there a problem? You got something to say? You got something you wanna say?" Word for word. Today, a customer witnessed another manager talking down, & abusing their power w Shaun yet again, & today it was Mr. Lonschlogger, who spoke to Shaun in a disrespectful & condescending tone telling him to pick up money, that he(Mr. L) dropped. & the customer asked for the employees for the managers name, & did not go to the general manager w his problem immediately. I do not know if he went to him later, but if he doesn't. It's probably because he figured nothing will be done. Because several employees have told me they've gone to our general manager Mr. Thompson to complain about managers & nothing ever changed. Everyday an employee comes to work at cinemark 18 they are subject to verbal abuse & unfair treatment from the managers. Along w the managers' favoritism & a use of power, they do not care one bit to clean or fix anything that needs cleaning or fixing or maybe it is you, corporate who thinks your employees & customers should have to come into a theatre that sticky, with cockroaches crawling around & mice going through the wall, which customers may not know about but there were mice in the break room. There's also a foul stench behind the concession stand that no manager ever addresses or even attempts to seem like they want to help, the counters are always sticky. There is no hygiene in this theater. Just the other day when I was popping popcorn a cockroach crawled out from underneath the bag & when I went to tell a manager they did not care they brushed me off. If someone from corporate were to drop in surprisingly to cinemark & walk through by themselves I'm certain they would find health violations through out the whole theatre. I never mentions before, but I am Puerto Rican & there are 2 "minority" managers neither of which work as much as every other Caucasian manager that we have. Many of my Caucasian coworker's tell me that the managers Mr Lonschlogger & Ms. Czaya harrass everyone but I usually witness them harassing employees of color. Also, with the managers constantly being rude, disrespectful & sarcastic it passes down a bad vibe onto the employees who then act that same way w eachother & towards the customers because they are not shown respect & appreciation from management they feel they do not need to show respect to anyone around them or the customers coming in. Also, I personally witnessed the manager by the name, Mr. Lewis call a customer a stupid idiot because they called to ask for the theatre times, he then went on about how dumb customers are in general. He was doing so no more than a foot to the left of our general manager Mr. Thompson & next to the employee training me on box office. I obviously can go on & on about everything that is wrong w this cinemark but I'm beginning to ramble & from all the complaints I've read from all around America none of these are ever read, but in the slim chance it does I hope something is done about the atraucities at this place. & notice, that I use such a serious word when referring to a minimum wage job. There is much too much stress involved with working at cinemark because the rules do no matter as the managers have they're own set of unwritten rules, as they seem to do at every other cinemark theatre in US.
It should say Manchester, Connecticut

This seems like a complaint to send directly to the GM of that location along with a dry cleaning estimate. You seem due some kind of compensation.
That being said, remember that Cinemark (or any theater) is not responsible for the actions of customers and sometimes things will be missed like some gum that some low-class jerk left on a seat. There is always the unofficial assumed risk when using a chair you know has been getting used by hundreds of people before you. However, it would still be nice to be compensated for that.
