They were promt and pleasent
They were promt and pleasent. Did a great job even though we had Italian appliances hard to fix. Would come back. Ed D.
Great service!
Great service! They fixed our washer on the same day and replaced the part that was needed. Our washer is working perfectly now. I highly recommend City Master Appliance Repair Ltd.
Just had dryer repaired
Just had dryer repaired. Very pleasent knowledgable workers. Dryer broke late yesterday and today at 2 has been repaired. They cleaned up everything around dryer and set it back up. Calling us each time before visit and showed up exactly when they said they would come. Professionalism at its best. Highly recommend.
The guy from City Master Appliance Repair Ltd
The guy from City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. showed up around 10 am on a regular weekday. He finished the job in less than an hour, which was pretty quick. They wanted to charge me $*** for the service fee, which is about what everyone else charges, and then they hit me with a crazy $*** per hour fee, with a minimum of 1 hour. I called their office and gave them a piece of my mind. They ended up lowering the hourly labor charge from $*** to $***. I reluctantly paid it, but seriously, that hourly rate is still way too high. I'm not impressed with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. at all.
Worst service ever
Worst service ever... the guy who came to fix the dryer, didn't know what he was doing, kept texting others - he said more experienced people, problem never solved, waste of time and money. Tried to speak to Management on phone, was told managers don't talk to customers on phone that I would have to email, once emailed they wouldn't provide a name, and just said they could send out another technician but would have to charge again. A different company came in figured out the problem and replaced the part within 5 minutes.

My experience with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd
My experience with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. (http://www.citymaster.ca/) was not great. The owner, Vlad, came to my place to fix my appliance, but he didn't have the necessary parts in stock. I had to pay upfront for both the parts and the current repair, which ended up costing me $129 instead of the advertised $49. They claimed that my appliance, a Kenmore washer, was high-end, which I don't agree with.
I paid for the parts, but I never heard back from them. I tried contacting them through email, phone calls, and texts, but they ignored me. Finally, when I managed to get a hold of Vlad, he told me to take my business elsewhere if I didn't want to cause trouble. He didn't give me a refund for the parts I paid for, and he didn't schedule another appointment.
To make matters worse, Vlad left a huge mess behind and didn't reconnect the dryer vent when he moved my dryer. When I asked him to fix it, he said it was an HVAC issue.
My washing machine stopped during its cycle
My washing machine stopped during its cycle. On Sunday I left a message and didn't get a reply with a date and time for a service call. The next day, while I was at work, someone stopped by and told my wife that he was there to fix something. The person had no company markings or even an invoice. My wife did ask him to come tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. I took Tuesday off work. The same person stopped by at 10am. I asked him where he was from. He said city master and he had a work order. Again, he had no markings, no invoice and no markings on his vehicle. I asked him to leave. I called city master and explained the situation. I was told that everything is electronic and there is no invoice. The person said that they send an email stating the timing of the appointment. No emails where sent. Then he said I didn't supply an email address so nothing came. Then said that "it was a problem with communication on both ends". How can that be without any appointment scheduled appointment. I am very disappointed with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. They have poor communication and their technician showed up without any identification or proof of affiliation with the company. It's concerning and unprofessional.

They sent a technician to check the washing machine
They sent a technician to check the washing machine. He said you need a new pump. My wife asked him if it's the only problem. He said it's going work if it will be replaced by a new pump. So, we said go ahead. He put on a new pump and it did not work. He came back and checked again. This time he said that there is a new part that needs to be replaced. It will cost me another $600.00 (something) plus taxes (more than $700.00). so, I called their office (Elite). They said it's already in the machine so I cannot get the money back. I relied on their expertise.
Self clean on stove not working
Self clean on stove not working. A few days before we left for our winter vacation near the end of October , our oven stopped working. We called Elite and Vladimir came to inspect the stove. I trusted his expertise and he said it needed a new motherboard. He quoted $622.00 plus taxes (total $700.84) for a new motherboard and installation. We left and arranged for our daughter to meet him and install the new motherboard once it arrived. We returned on March 10, and used the stove. The elements and oven worked fine. On March 27, I tried to use the self clean function, but it wouldn't work. I called Vladimir and he told me not to use the self clean. I asked him to come and fix the problem without charging for a service call, but he refused. I also asked for a refund, but he refused that as well.

June 24: I hired City Master Appliance Repair Ltd
June 24: I hired City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. to fix my fridge and freezer rubber gasket seal. I paid $445.79 plus tax, which came to a total of $499.28. The repair technician removed the old seal and replaced it with a new one, but unfortunately, the new seal didn't work properly. It started leaking from the freezer door. The technician assured me that the seal would expand and fix the issue within a day or two, but that didn't happen. I contacted the company to schedule another appointment for the repair technician to come back and fix the problem. However, they never showed up. Frustrated, I called the office to speak to the manager about the situation. The manager was extremely rude and told me to be patient because he was busy and couldn't provide me with a specific appointment or time for someone to come and address the issue. He abruptly ended the call.
I contactd City Master thru their web app and via email to make sure they cud fix my washing machine
I contactd City Master thru their web app and via email to make sure they cud fix my washing machine. I got no response, so I contactd them thru phone and they sent sumone out, making sure they wud be able to do the repair. The service person spent most of the time here on their phone, speaking in a different language, and then chargd me close to $*** for "leveling" my machine (no parts were replacd, it took only moments of actual service, and I had already indicatd 3 times that the washing tub was off balance). I immediately testd the machine and it was no better than before. I requestd a different technician be sent out and was informd that the work was "sub-contracted" and this was not possible - if sumone new came, it wud cost me an additional $*** for a service call. I'm really frustratd cuz I paid a lot of money and the problem still isn't fixd. I am askin for a refund so I can actually get a reliable repair company here to do what wasn't done. This experience has been really disappointing and I don't recommend City Master Appliance Repair Ltd.
I booked City Master in October 2022 for an appliance repair
I booked City Master in October 2022 for an appliance repair. They came the next day to do an inspection and called me with a solution to the problem. I was told the total bill would be $*** and I had to pay half upfront. I gave them my credit card number and was charged $***. They said they would be by the next day and it would take 3 hours to complete. They got there at 9am and by 6pm I still hadn’t heard anything about it. When I contacted them to see if the job was completed, I found out they had taken my machine completely apart and took parts back to the shop with them. No one contacted me about removing my property and when I confronted them about this, I was met with hostility from their end. The next day, I was told they were waiting for a tool and they didn’t know when it would come in. Then, they called me and said that they cannot complete the repair and I would be offered a partial refund. *** I tried to go down to their office to discuss this further and get my property back***. It’s been 20 days and I haven’t received a refund, haven’t received any of my items back and cannot get ahold of anyone at their office. I’ve tried called their office in Regina and no one answers. I’ve emailed and called numerous times with no reply and haven’t received any money back.
My complaint to ComplaintsBoard.com is about City Master Appliance Repair Ltd
My complaint to ComplaintsBoard.com is about City Master Appliance Repair Ltd. On March 2, a worker from City Master Appliance Repair came to my house to check and fix my washing machine. Since then, the machine has been experiencing the same problems I had before the company came to fix it. When the worker assessed my washing machine, I asked if it was worth fixing or if I should buy a new one. The worker assured me that if I chose to fix it, the parts would be under warranty for 1 year. Although I don't have proof of this statement, my receipt states that all orders have a 90-day warranty on replaced parts and the work done. I relied on the company's professional assessment and their ability to fix the problem when I decided to hire them. As a result, I paid $352.80 instead of buying a new machine. The phone number I called on that day for support from City Master Appliance Repair and for someone to come back and check the machine is: *** The worker's number who did the job is: *** Today, I was told that my 30-day warranty had expired and that I would be charged if someone came to check the machine. The man also said, without asking me any questions about the machine's issues, that it was unlikely that it is the same issue as before they came to fix it.
Our dryer was making noise during the summer and stopped working in early October so we called City Master Appliance Repair
Our dryer was making noise during the summer and stopped working in early October so we called City Master Appliance Repair. Here's what happened: 1: The repair guy was supposed to come on the 6th of Oct, but he didn't show up. 2: He finally showed up on October 7th, but he didn't have a small part to finish the repair. He got the dryer working again and told us to call him if it started squeaking, so he could come back and install the missing part. He said he wouldn't charge us for his mistake. He suggested we try it out and listen for any squeaking. I made sure to ask him if we would only have to pay for the parts if that happened. We didn't talk about any "time limit" for the free labor offer. But on the receipt, it says the warranty for the work and parts is 90 days (see attached image). 3: My wife called City Master Appliance Repair on October 30th. She has an accent when speaking English. The boss told her that the warranty period (meaning free labor) was only a week. She explained that we weren't given any timeline by their technician. She handed me the phone (I don't have an accent) and suddenly the boss said their policy was a 3-week warranty. But he said we were too late and he would charge us. Now we're stuck with the noise in our dryer, and it's getting worse.
I took my stand mixer for what is advertised as a $29 plus tax service inspection due to some noise from the stand mixer
I took my stand mixer for what is advertised as a $29 plus tax service inspection due to some noise from the stand mixer. They have now charged me $176 for an UNAUTHORIZED repair. They admit they were "too busy" or "forgot" to call with a quote of the cost of the repair. They went ahead and fixed it with no authorization for me. I called them to complain and was offered a $25 refund and told I "got a repair with brand new parts and a cleaning and am just not happy with the cost and will be blacklisted and warranty denied." The tech also says he "supposedly" called and left a message on my voicemail which he absolutely did not. He said he would take his $39 parts out, but put my old parts back in, but I have to pay for his 2 hours of service. I did not authorize any service, parts, or anything beyond a $29 service fee. They also will not tell me the name of the repair tech or the name of the receptionist I spoke with when I asked for them so I could include their names in this complaint. Also, my own mother took her stand mixer to the same people, on the same day as me...and she received a call on a quote for repairing it which she declined to fix. Where was my phone call to be able to decline the repair? I want a refund of the $176 that they charged me for a repair that they took upon themselves to do without authorization. They also let me walk out with the stand mixer when I picked it up, no one said I owed a balance. They actually called me 3 hours later and told me I owed it.
Timeline of our interactions with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd
Timeline of our interactions with City Master Appliance Repair Ltd.: We called them in November to inform them about our broken washing machine. In December , a technician came and said he had to order a part. We paid $250 for the part and service call. In February 2022, we called and were told that the part was still not in. In March and April, we called again and were given the same response. On May 5th, we called once more, asking them to either fix the washing machine or issue us a refund. They said a manager would call us back in 2 business days, but a week went by and we heard nothing. On May 12th, I left a Google review and called to see if the manager was available. They asked for my invoice number, and when I provided it, they claimed that we had canceled our order. I was shocked and explained that we hadn't canceled anything. We just wanted a refund if the part wasn't in or for someone to come and fix it if it was. They said they would have someone call me back. Eventually, they called back, apologized, and said a technician could come and fix it on May 14th. Finally, after 6 months, we have a working washing machine. We thought we wouldn't have to pay any more considering the difficulties we faced with this company. The technician asked us to delete the review, and we agreed. However, later that evening, we received two calls, an email, and a text message, all stating that we owed them at least $150 more. They even threatened to send it to collections or remove the part as they claimed it was "their property." A) Why would we give them more money when their company messed up and ignored us for 6 months? And b) it's funny how they didn't contact us for 6 months when we paid them, but now that they claim we owe them money, they suddenly know how to communicate. I called today, and Vlad yelled at me, demanding money and threatening to send the bill to collections.
I called City Master on November 23, 2022 because my range broke down
I called City Master on November 23, 2022 because my range broke down. I searched on the web and called another company, but they couldn't come until the next week. City Master advertised a service call for only $***, so I decided to give them a try. They said they could come between 1 and 3 on the same day. I told them it was an induction range, and the price doubled to $***. The person on the phone said that things are more complicated with an induction range, which seemed like a big jump in price, but I wanted someone to come and check it out.
Around 1:30, a gentleman named Tim arrived. He looked at the range and said it could be either the filter board or control board, which we already knew from watching videos. He continued to look around and check his phone. Then he mentioned that it might be the compasator. I asked him for more information about that, but we continued talking. He then told me that his boss said it would cost over $*** to fix, so I declined the offer.
After everything was said and done, Tim told me that the charge for him to be there that day was over $***. I was surprised because when I called, they said it was $***. He explained that there was an hourly rate as well. If they had mentioned these extra charges when he arrived, maybe I would have understood and stopped him from looking further after he mentioned the filter or control board. It was frustrating. I have a receipt for 2 hours of labor, a fuel surcharge, and convenience fees. After I complained, he gave me $*** off, for a total of $***.
I decided to email the company and ask about the convenience fees. All they said was that all those fees are explained in my invoice, which they weren't. It's disappointing that they didn't communicate these additional charges clearly from the beginning. Overall, the service was not what I expected, and I wouldn't recommend City Master Appliance Repair Ltd.
While replasing the stove surface element, the technician damaged the main display board so that it is now inoperable
While replasing the stove surface element, the technician damaged the main display board so that it is now inoperable. They refuse to fix it for free. My partner Jo *** and I first hired Elite Appliance Repair in Regina, SK to diagnose and repair the broil function with our 4 year old *** oven/stove. John*** and Nolan*** concluded that the main control board needed to be replaced on our first appointment with Elite on July 28. We agreed to go ahead with the repair of $539.08 and had to pay half up front. The second appointment was on July 31 but upon trying to replace the control board they realized that they had ordered the wrong control board and the repair could not be completed. That same day Nolan called me back to confirm they would need to reorder the control board and booked the repair for August 5. He further added that if the part did not arrive he would call us to reschedule. On August 5 neither John nor Nolan showed up to complete the repair. I called to inquire and spoke to the office receptionist Katie. She said she didn't have a record of the appointment and would have the manager call me back. Hours later, a man who I presume to be Vladimir, the general manager, called me back to inform me that the part had not arrived yet. He told me they would call me back that day to book a new appointment when he had more information. He did not call back that day. The next day, August 6, John called Jo and said they would be by that day to repair the control board. The remaining cost was paid, the board was replaced and presumably repaired that day. While using the stove the next day on August 7 there was a loud crack noise and the stove burner turned off, tripping the breaker in the process. I called back to Elite to inquire about diagnosing this new problem and about initiating warranty service. John returned August 10 and said the problem was the range radiant surface element, and he added that the issue had nothing to do with the new main control board that they had just installed. He further added that the main control board that was previously installed was old and not putting out the correct power. We agreed to have the element replaced and we paid the $274.17 up front, as required. The next day, August 11, John messaged Jo asking for us to measure the burner element since he was not sure what size to order. We held a measuring tape over the burner and sent him a picture of it that night. On August 18, John returned and installed the new surface element. It ended up being larger than the previous one and installed off-centre, but he said it's the "best that can be done for it." While re-assembling it, however, he inadvertently broke part of the display board. He said he would take the broken display board, glue the broken part, and return to install it the next day. On August 19, while reinstalling the display board, he breaks it completely rendering the entire display board completely inoperable (and the oven completely unusable). He apologizes and says we "obviously wouldn't have to cover the costs over his mistake." On August 26 John texts me to inform me that they would only cover 50% of the cost and requested the payment upfront (for what he broke). We request the manager's number on August 27, we call, Vladimir is unavailable, and Katie has him call us back later on that afternoon. He informs Jo that the display board repair is too expensive for them to cover 100% and it was just an accident on his technician's part, and says we had to pay for 50% of the cost. He further adds that these things can happen and that he's giving us a great deal, and that we ultimately have three days to decide to proceed with this deal or not. Moreover, he said that *** this is the best deal we will get.
