23 cup reservoir
8/22/2023 3:00 pm
Purchased from Amazon on 8/19/2023.
Arrived today at 1:30 pm.
I just received a 23 cup zerowater reservoir from Amazon. After washing and assembling per the instructions, I filled it up and noticed water streaking down the outer wall of the filter. Anotherwords, unfiltered water is leaking into the filtered reservoir. Please see the picture below and advise what corrective action to take.
Desired outcome: If this can be fixed, please let me know how. If it cannot be fixed, I would like a new unit.
Newest Pitcher
I bought the newer version of the zero water pitcher and I hate it. I couldn’t compress the tab hard enough to take off the top to fill it, then one day, the tab broke, which was a blessing because I could open it and fill it. When the top was on, it didn’t fully drain through the filter so when I would pour out the filtered water, the last bit if unfiltered water that was trapped would also pour out and contaminate the filtered water.
I am a zero water fan, this is my 5th pitcher and it was the only kind available on the shelf. I would NOT recommend it.
Desired outcome: Please send me the old version-I always use the larger size.
We apologize for the difficulties you encountered with the new pitcher, please contact us directly at [protected] and we will be happy to send you whichever pitcher you would prefer at no cost.
Thank you,
ZeroWater Team
ZeroWater ZD-018 ZD018, 23 Cup Water Filter Pitcher
I just purchased the 23 cup Zero water dispenser in late December 2022. ALREADY ZERO has quit making the filters for this unit! All I can find is a basic filter that "fits" the unit but does not make the same claim as Zero regarding purification.
WTH? Talk about being had.
There are "filters" and there are filters. Sure, everybody out there makes a 5 stage filter. They are not making the same claim as Zero who sold me the dispenser.
I am so ticked! I could not even log a complaint on Amazon because they say they don't carry this product any longer.
IN THE END, I BOUGHT A HUNK OF WORTHLESS BLUE PLASTIC FROM ZERO!
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ZERO PRODUCT AND I'LL TELL MY HUGE FAMILY TO TELL ALL THEIR FRIENDS TO AVOID ZERO.
Desired outcome: REFUND ME THE COST OF THE UNIT. $42.20
Hello consumer, we at ZeroWater have never discontinued our standard Premium 5 Stage Filter. This is our Hallmark product, it is quite literally what our company is built on and our 5 stage filter will always these filters in stock ready for shipment. Your 23 Cup dispenser that uses this Premium 5 Stage filter has recently been rebranded as the 30 Cup dispenser so the description includes the 7 cups of water that sits in the upper reservoir but the 23 Cup model and the 30 Cup are the exact same unit. If you need to purchase replacement filters feel free to find them at any of our retail partners listed in the link below or simply place an order online at our website under 5 Stage Filter Replacements. Thank you and we hope this clear up any confusion there has been.

Zero water filter countertop
Don't waste your hard earned money. been using these for about 9 or 10 years. In the beginning of me buying these filters things were great. Then in the past few years I get filters that seem to get clogged up within a couple weeks. I used to get at least 2-3 months out of them. I think they are taking recycled ones and re-using them. Extremely disappointed as they are not cheap. I'm getting rid of it and getting another system.
Desired outcome: I want filters that work
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. After Zero Water filters have been exhausted and have not been changed, the water produced from the filter may have a distinct smell or taste and the TDS reading may be higher than your tap water. This is a result of the water passing over the “spent” Ion Exchange Resin beads. We have gone to great lengths in reducing that taste/smell in product development however this is simply a characteristic of filtering water with a Dual-Ion Exchange system.
In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water it is important to test the water regularly and change the filter when the digital meter reads 006ppm as directed.
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.
I agree with you. At first the water tasted clean and fresh and recently the filters don't last very long (about 3 weeks if that long) and the water taste terrible and stinks as the filter ages. In the last week, I can't get the filters to filter any water and the top reservoir has a slimy film in it despite being washed just before installing the new filter.
I'm going with Berkey. It's expensive but has a reputation for quality and their filters last much longer.
Zerowater reservoir not sealed - leaks / splashes
Received Zerowater (Large pitcher) on12/25/2020. The lid on the reservoir should be hydrophobic (waterproof). This was identified on the first use. Reservoir was filled to < 80% and moved to the fridge. After taking my first step water began to pour over the edges. I pushed down on the lid but there was no change. I called Zerowater customer service, rep. stated, "It's that way so seniors can open it". There's an ineffectual removable inner gasket but that's were Zerowater r&d gave up. Worst yet, the flow through the filter stops (probably due to a vacuum issue) , then someone will remove the pitcher from the fridge and water splashes all over them, the floor and fridge interior. After refilling the reservoir, we have to carry the pitcher as if it were nitroglycerin or a booby-trap. One false move and splosh-splash.
Summary: Engineering quality ended with the filter. Sad.
Desired outcome: Waterproof reservoir lid.
Help! I am having the same problem. The 5 stage filter dispenser is leaking. Can you advise please.
We do apologize for the difficulties you encountered using one of our pitchers, we have recently released a new model pitcher that has addressed these issues. We would gladly send you one of these pitchers free of charge, just give us a call at [protected]

Thank you,
Zero water 5 stage advanced filtration 10 cup pitcher
4/4/21
I purchased the pitcher today, and the main perk was the fact that after being filtered it leaves you with ZEROtds . Unfortunately after doing a total of 10 separate filtering trials it took me the majority of the time 2 re-filters of each batch of water To get the tds down to one. Being perfectly sanitary making sure not to contaminate the contents with my tap water or anything else .I don't feel it should take me a total of 3 times to get the tds of my water down regardless of what the starting tds is if claiming ZERO.
Desired outcome: some filters that actually work if the ones i have are defective. And if that’s not the case i feel the item should be re-called or at least re advertised because it is giving me the same results as “conventional 2-stage filters”
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. The most accurate way to get reading is to test the water directly inside the pitcher. You can do this by removing the reservoir from the pitcher and sticking the meter in the filtered water sitting in the pitcher. If you get a 000 reading inside the pitcher it is possible that the cup or glass you were using before had soap residue on it causing the meter to read above 000.
If you are not getting 000 in the pitcher, try the following steps to see if you can get the filter to read 000 on the meter.
Dry off the filter with a clean paper towel. Then place the filter over a clean paper cup.
Run a small amount of water directly into the filter and test the water that collects into the cup. If the meter does not read 000 it is possible that unfiltered water got into the pitcher via a leak at the O-ring. In order for filtered water to read correctly there must be a perfect seal where the filter is screwed into the reservoir. Make sure the filter is screwed in from the bottom not dropped in from the top.
We recently purchased and returned 4 zero water pitchers within the month. REASON: After approximately 4 gallons of 000 water the readings go up from 650 - 950 and the water tastes bad, acidy and a citrus taste.
NOTE: The tap water readings go from 110 - 114. We cannot afford to purchase a new filter each time after 4 gallons. My wife and I have both suffered from diarrhea now a couple times after unknowingly drinking the water after it had turned. What is up with this?
This is some serious stuff and Zero water does not seem to recognize the problem. You are going to get someone seriously sick with your filtration system.
I have included 3 pictures of #1 - tap water reading 102, #2 - 2nd gallon reading 003, and #3 5th gallon reading 669. - Please Take This Seriously
User's recommendation: Don't Purchase until company fixes problem.
We do apologize for the issues you encountered using ZeroWater, though there has never been any connection to health issues being caused by our product in 25 years of being in business the filter in this situation should have lasted much longer than what you have described. With your tyap water reading 110-114ppm our metrics say you should be getting 20 to 25 gallons of filtered water per filter. There was most certainly a deficiency with these filters and we would gladly have them replaced. For any issues with our products we recommend contacting our customer service team who are always more than happy to assist. [protected]

Owned the Zerowater (sold at Target)purifier for three months. Expensive initially and purifiers are twice what others sell for. Touted as cleanest water purifier. Box says purifier should last 2-3 months. Our lasts a month. When purifier needs changing, the water in the pitcher tastes terrible has to be tossed, unlike other purifiers. There is indication...
