Alleged tampering
Hi
My grandma has been staying at her property since 1996 ,so now 2022 after they put in Prepaid metres it is alleged that 2 metres has been tampered with why all this time when she was using conventional metre for over 20 years there was no hassles and issues all of a sudden we tampered with 2 metres , how ?
I was told we were not buying electricity how come because sometimes the metre says error and our lights would go off?
This is honestly puzzling

Duplicate rates account for same property
My property consisted of two separate stands or erven, Stand R/127 Brooklyn and Stand R/125 Brooklyn, which had a combined Tshwane account number [protected] with referral Stand R/125 Brooklyn. The two stands were consolidated in 2008 with approval of the City of Tshwane, and a new erf number for the same but now consolidated property was allocated, namely...

Prepaid meter electricity failure, 4 days without electricity, very bad service
Dear municipalities,
My Prepaid meter stopped working on Sunday, August 6, 2023. I called and reported the issues, and I was given reference 373-6. Since Sunday until now, I have called more than 20 times, and every time I am told the technician is on the way to repair. I did not go to work on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because I was told the technician was coming to my place to fix the problem. I lost 3 days of work; no technician came in, and I am still in the dark until now (today, Thursday, August 9, 2023, at 16:38 min). 4 days in the dark for the municipality's fault
You came and installed a prepaid meter without my concern. Now the meter is damaged, and you don't come to fix it. Any time I ask to speak to the supervisor, I get refused, and they say the supervisor is not around and that they cannot give me his or her number. What type of service is this? Is this how you are building the citizenry? Next, they will blame the citizen for not doing what is right, while you yourself are the one setting the tune. The citizens are not well served because you hired unqualified people because of your political connection with them. You wanted to get power and abuse the citizens.
I have the names and records of all the people I have called so far. If my electricity supply is not fixed today, I will make sure I post this communication on all social media portals to demonstrate how you abuse citizens.
Regards,
Etienne
No Electricity
Power of in Derdepoort/ Roodeplaat Pretoria area since sat 29th at 12h00 No idea when it will be on apparently since they are on strike. This is an outrage.
We sat without power the entire weekend, could not do washing, cook, batth or anything planned since there was no power.
Only feedback is on the push app, which is don't know, no ETA
This is unacceptable.
Billing - Account [protected]
Wow where to start... We moved into our property in September 2022, Tshwane issued us with an account of R6000 when we weren't event moved into the property yet. Complaint lodged, no response. Had a water leak outside our house at the water meter (which is Tshwane's property), reported the leak, was assured we won't pay as Tshwane is liable, yet again issued with a R14 000.00 account, sent numerous email, lodged complaints, went to city council, nothing! Received a letter of demand though...so Tshwane can do that very fast.
Desired outcome: For our account to be adjusted as promised by Tshwane in their emails.
Water bill
I just received my invoice on the 1st of May and I'm surprised that I owe the municipality an amount of R388 000.00 for only water. It is said by the consultant that I was not being charged for water since 2020 or 2021 but my previous invoices says something different. I've been paying close to R1500 monthly for water, rates and taxes without fail. I'm still convinced that it must be a mistake because it's only me and my 2 year old daughter.
Desired outcome: Correct their mistake
Electricity account
Good day,
A pre-paid meter was installed at my property on the 18th of February.
Last month my account still had electricity on and I paid it. But now this month there is an amount of R3,518.55 on my account for electricity (with meter reading of 1148 KWH)
Please assist me as I do not know where the reading comes from, furthermore I can not load money on the meter + pay account?
I await your urgent reply.
Desired outcome: Removal of fraudulent meter reading for electricity
Changed details on my account
Greetings, I recently visited the municipality offices to pay rent only to find my my details and that of my husband changed on the account. I made an inquiry and I was told that the officer who changed the details is not in. I truly do not understand how can officers remove our details without any reason whatsoever? The account details were changed on the 30th January 2023.The person on my account is someone I do not know and I was told there's nothing they can do about it. I am writing this now as the second step I'm taking in trying to rectify this.
Please look into this matter as soon as possible. My account details are as follows :

Desired outcome: To please change the account details to what they were previously as this may cause a lot of confusion for all parties involved.

Subject: 716 Ridgeback, Garsfontein - Open Hazardous Hole Left by Municipality
Hi there
My mother. Evelyn Lulama Appie, reported a pipe burst in front of her gate a couple of weeks ago - 18 February. Her direct number is [protected].
The municipality sent through a team to stop the leak. There is paving in front of the gate and the team had to obviously break it to get to the pipes. Post this, without closing the hole, the team left. There was nothing indicating to anyone to avoid the hole - no tapes, no rods nothing. This hole is right in front of my mother’s gate. It was raining on this day and water and mud collected.
In the evening my mother’s car front fell into the hole, so did my mother whilst trying to get out of the car. Were it not for my brother being present, she would have been unable to get out of the mudslide.
To date despite numerous calls to your office - there has been no response, no one has come back to close the hole or fix it. This is extremely disappointing to say the least.
Please can this matter be urgently escalated or resolved. My mom is a tax payer and citizen of Tshwane who deserves proper service not to be left with a gaping dangerous hole in front of her gate. She has had to make a plan to fill up the hole whilst she waits - this is not ideal and a temporary solution. I have attached a pic of what the gate looks like - note this is AFTER my mom had to fill back the sand/soil herself. The paving and ground around the hole remains unstable.
Many thanks
Linda Appie

Incorrect Billing (1 year old complaint)
Electricity billing in our Church, in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion remains unresolved after more than 12months the complain was lodged and was followed up every month. Our billing moved from average of R7300 monthly to R42 356 in October 2021. Municipality officials confirmed that there was an error in the billing. This was followed by numerous electricity cuts and Lawyers calls.
Last month, the November 2022 statement showed a correction where R41,000 was removed. Our celebration was short lived as our current statement (December 2022 statement) R37 840 was added on top of R63 228. Both amounts we don't know where they come from.
Desired outcome: Get billing corrected.
Damage to wheelie waste bin
This morning the waste in our area was collected and when I fetched the bin from the street I discovered that a piece of plastic was broken off the front. The issue is that the machine that is picking up the bins left a serious scratch mark on the bin where it damaged it. It is either the operator that is not cautious enough or the machine is defective.
Desired outcome: Training to the operator / Fix the machine. Unfortunately, my bin was also damaged previously by the removal company whereby it was cracked on the base.
Rebate on account [protected]
Rebate now for the 3rd month not deducted from account. Documentation was already sent in in July 2022 AND confirmed that it was correct. It is now October and again it is not deducted, this is now a total amount of more than R1800. I have been sending emails to Ray Dean van der Merwe who apparently is handling these and NO response.
This account is 2 old people over 80 years who lives off their pension and dont have the amount of money to pay.
Please get this sorted asap
Desired outcome: Response ASAP - [protected] and fixed ASAP
Electricity has been illegal cut off
I got home and saw a notice that my electricity has been disconnected. I did not even receive a final demand! I paid my account yesterday. I have not received any help since my first call at 5pm. They keep saying it is escalated but they have still not put my power on! Their website indicated if the full amount is settled, which it is, the within 4 hours they will reconnect your power. It is now 4 hours later I am still without power and all they can tell me is that they will come out. When will that be?
Miscellaneous charges
I have asked many times for clarity as to what are these charges that have been billed in my account but no one from CTMM care to respond. All they do is to ignore my emails. this is unacceptable, day light robbery. Relevant account number: [protected].
Desired outcome: Account Adjustment and clarity

Power down
Power down since the 27th of May 2022, this has been reported and numerous complaints have been lodged.
Yesterday (Tuesday) and Monday, a group of "workers" had been sent out. At least ten of them.
For the most part they stood or sat around and did nothing. Or they stood up and stared like tourists at the law firm building.
Then they dug a hole. Then they made something explode. Then they left.
When our office manager phoned Tshwane for the umpteenth time to report this, she was told that the workers' over-time had run out and therefor they couldn't come today to fix the problem that they themselves had exacerbated. When my manager got upset because this has been keeping her from her regular work for the last 5 days, the person who assisted her at the Tshwane office started screaming at her, as if it is our fault that Tshwane is absolutely useless. We are taxpayers, individually and as a firm, and this is how the government treats it's tax paying citizens and entities.
How can their over time have run out? They were here during normal work hours. How can you refuse service based on "spent" overtime, when the service is required, again, during normal work hours? We pay for this service - so fix it!
This is the DA-led government, not the ANC, proving themselves to be just as callous, incompetent and corrupt as the previous dispensation.
Desired outcome: Fix it! Now! And apologize to the office manager! Start serving the city! BUT MOST OF ALL COME FIX OUR POWER IMMEDIATELY!!!!
How can you claim "over-time" when you stand around for hours doing nothing?!
