Workers on 7th floor
Please note that the on the 7th floor of the M Building in Unit M71 for the leukemia and and multiple myeloma patients there is a family rest center area with a fridge, microwave, coffee pot and selections of snacks and good provided to the families that are with their loved ones in the unit. Everyday that my family member has been in the unit 32 out of the last 48 days we have seen maintenance people take turns going into the family break room, eating the free food and snacks supposed to be there for family members and what's more they eat all of it for the week in the first couple days. I am grateful for what the staff here at the Cleveland Clinic do to help my family, but there is no excuse for workers to take advantage of their employers in such a way and at the same time have so little care that they are making it harder for the families of those being treated.
Desired outcome: If at all possible I would hope that the maintenance people are restricted from eating patient family snacks and foods going forward.
Made an appointment to have a family doctor for myself and husband
When I made the appointment I went over the fact that our family drama relocated and I went over my husband's meds. Appointment day Physician only stated meds he would not prescribe and escorted out my appointment week later and to my shock after paying our 35.00 Dr visit co pay for each visit I receive 2 bills for 218.66 and change for outpatient care. When you explain over the phone for half an hour what is needed. The Physician does not refill one prescription but you did pay 70.00 already for nothing knowing you are still looking for a family physician to find out you are now being charged an additional 219.00? For absolutely nothing! How can you justify this? Call and complain and Latisha tells you too bad.
ER doctor and nurses were the worst possible to care
My Name is Aitanga Irish, I never had a bad experience with Cleveland clinic in Weston, FL. Till Friday night I was coming with some bad symptoms have a bad infection not sure what it was I went to Cleveland clinic ER I went inside I heard the nurse saying :she's sick and she's going to make me sick, I vomited it the bed and none of them didn't clean me...

Wow where to begin?! First and foremost, Dr. Delahay is great, on the other hand crystal dailey is a disgustingly rude human being and does not belong in patient care! Crystal stated that the x-ray should not have taken place before removing the cast, I advised her the office called me yesterday before the end of the day to change my appt time due to my son needing x-rays before cast removal. I let her know this so she could advise the receptionist to do it correctly for the next time and her rude response was go take it up with them! I let that go and just let her be, she then begins taking my sons cast off and finds an end of a mechanical pencil stuck inside of my sons cast as my son was using that to scratch inside and it got stuck instead of her throwing it in the trash where it belongs, she placed on the chair next to my leg where I was sitting at! Disgusting! I immediately stood up and said why would you place that nasty [censored] cap on my chair instead of throwing it away she then smirked about it like it was funny! So I yank the door open and go the lpn sitting at the station and tell her to get crystal out now because she is making my blood boil with how nasty and disgustingly rude, she is. I proceed back to the room and tell crystal to get out she then locks eyes with me trying to intimidate me and so I asked her why the f* are you looking at me like that, like if you're going to hit me or something?! Get out now! Dr. Delahay then walks in, and she says dr. This one here this girl here as she is staring me down and pointing at me as i'm sitting there and waiting for her to get out. Whatever her issue was at home or outside of work you do not bring that to work with you. The fact that you work in patient care and behave like that with a patient is appauling. I left livid my blood boiling. At no point in time should anyone ever feel unsafe or unwanted in a dr office for no apparent reason! Crystal dailey literally the way you handle and speak to patient's parents is beyond unethical. You do not deserve to be in patient care industry when you care nothing about your patients. You discuss me in every way.
Desired outcome: Never to see her face again
Phone hold time / customer service
The phone system and customer service is horrible. The people l spoke with were nice but it took approx 10 min for the operator to answer. After l told her what Dr's office l wanted to speak with it took 15 min before another rep answered. At that time she instructed me to call another number so I did. Once again another 15 min before someone answered. The rep told me she'd send me straight to the Dr's office after getting my personal info and then transf. me again with another 10 min to wait. Finally, a rep answered and didn't understand why the first rep sent me there. Fortunately this one sent me to the correct Dr's office where l was told his nurse would call me back.
It makes no sense at all to go this this frustration. My anxiety is already high so to curb it l don't call the Dr's office on Monday mornings because they tend to be busier. Before all of this l called Fri. for this reason and not only did the rep said I had the wrong office for the dr. (I called the # listed for him on my chart) she instead gave me a wrong # that l read back to her which went to someone's personal phone.
Desired outcome: Please get more employees to answer the phones so no one has to wait over 30 min to get through and also train them to direct you to the correct office.
Mask requirements why
Had to visit what we have considered the very best chain of hospitals in north america (cleveland clinic) and was shocked they still require masks. And the pass out little useless masks. Wow! How insulting. It’s been proven countless times for well over a year these masks do nothing at all! Plus - get this — > the cdc does not even require masks to visit their facilities! This shortsighted, control wielding policy has forced us to decide we will never again step foot into a cleveland clinic.
Desired outcome: Stop the insanity!!!!
Billing for account #[protected] & account #[protected]-0001
I'm livid. I had hamstring reattachment surgery with Dr. Gleeson at Cleveland Clinic in Vero Beach, FL on August 9, 2022. The surgery was successful and Dr. Gleeson was terrific. I have very good health insurance through the Directors Guild of America & Blue Cross Blue Shield which covers 100% of the costs of my surgery however I recently personally received a $3,825.00 bill from the anesthesiologist and another bill for $459.00 from the hospital. My insurance representative said they had not received the Surgeon's Claim for the surgery and they will settle the account upon receipt of the Surgeon's Claim. For the last six weeks I have been trying to make this happen including at least two dozen calls - to Cleveland Clinic billing in Atlanta and in Vero Beach, to the Surgeon's office, to Cleveland Clinic customer service in Vero Beach and Ohio and, of course, to my insurance people who have also called Cleveland Clinic to try to attain the Surgeon's claim - none of which have so far been successful. One of my conversations revealed that the Surgeon's Claim had been submitted last fall but had been returned because of 'Coding Issues'. The Cleveland Clinic representative said they would resubmit the Surgeon's Claim once the "Coding Issues" were corrected. That was January 20, 2023 and the re-submission has still not occurred as of today, February 13, 2023. Yet I am still receiving bills with "This Account Is Seriously Deliquent" on them and threats to "Turn this matter over to Collections". If this is turned over to Collections and my excellent credit rating is affected because Cleveland Clinic can't correctly bill for a routine surgery I will file a lawsuit and sue for damages. I have spent more time trying to do your job than I did in rehab after the surgery. Let me repeat: I'm livid.

Desired outcome: Cleveland Clinic must submit a correctly coded Surgeon's Claim to my Insurance Company
Lack of patient safety
On 2/7/2023 I was taken by ambulance to the Richard E. Jacobs Avon Cleveland Clinic at roughly 21:55 with excruciating chest pain. They did the normal cardiac work up and thankfully didn’t find anything. I had told them over and over again of a new medication I started a week prior to this event and no one was the least bit interested. I was discharged at...

In my surgery literature and discharge instructions I was told a would have a follow-up visit the 2nd day after discharge before I left the state. I kept checking my chart for the appt times and none appeared. The second afternoon I contacted them so I could plan my end hotel reservation. I was told no appointments. I explained my situation as I clearly read in my discharge orders I was supposed to do this appt. I was put on hold and she came back on and said no appts tomorrow, so not quite understanding I asked if there were any on Thursday. No they are too busy and there is only one NP this week (pretty large facility not to cover). I worked at a hospital facility for 40 years. Busy was not an allowable excuse to be said to a patient. I saw my physician on my day of discharge and that was his last question. Are you doing the follow-up appt? And said good when I said yes. my pt/INR was set up by me, although I think the clinic took credit for that. So I found out the PT/INR is not that important to Cleveland Clinic or they would have done the follow-up lab work, ekg, and chest X-Ray even if I couldn't see a NP before I left Ohio. So they left me on the clotting side. I feel I possibly have fluid around my heart and urination doesn't seem normal. Would have made an earlier appt with my cardiologist, had I known no follow-up. Highly disappointing. I know I still could have had a great surgeon. I felt that way before surgery. Now alot of doubts have clouded that. I would have left directly upon discharge if I had no follow up. They had no intention of even informing me that I was not getting appts, promised. And I believe it was know at my discharge.
Desired outcome: Be honest about follow-up. Donate my hotel bill waste to something at Cleveland Clinic $388
Lack of quality care and maltreatment of patient
I am writing to complain about the treatment my husband received at your facility Marymount hospital E.R. dept on (1/27/2023) at 11:45 A.M. My husband was taken to Marymount, due to a fall and symptoms of a suspected stroke. My husbands' symptoms worsen while we were still in the E.R. and nothing was done about it even after it was conveyed to the nurse and E.R. Dr. Ashbangh. My husband communicated that he was still having dizziness before he was discharged and nothing was investigated further. A tech came into the room and "stated she was told to remove my husband's I.V., I asked the tech if was she a nurse, and she stated no. My husband and I responded by asking for a nurse to remove the I.V. The nurse Sam Charity stormed into the room with the tech in a hostile manner and asked what the problem was with the tech removing the I.V... My husband replied he preferred her to do it. Nurse Sam Charity responded that their techs were trained. Nurse Sam Charity's behavior was condescending and unprofessional. My husband was never given or offered a wheelchair, even though he was still experiencing a lack of balance and symptoms of dizziness. As a medical professional with Thirteen years of experience, I have never experienced such desensitizing behavior toward a patient as what my husband was exposed to today. I hope that your hospital will take this complaint seriously and provide cultural competence training for your health care professionals.
Thanks,
Mrs. Rhonda Tyus LMFT
Desired outcome: Investigation into this manner and a written apology
Lack of availability to schedule appointment
My son [edited] is a patient of dr. Wacina at Martian Pediatric in Stuart, FL. On Friday october 28, 2022, my son began to have off and on fevers for about a week. He was 3 years old at the time. I contacted his pediatrician, Dr. Wacian, office on Wednesday November 2nd, to schedule an appointment at Marian Helath Pediatrics in Stuart. I called twice, and no answer. I then called again and finally got to speak with someone.
They informed me that no appointments were available due to an increase in illness in children. They told me to take my son to the treasure coast location in port st. lucie. My son saw N.P Kasey. She informed me that my son had a double ear infection, he was prescribed amoxicillin, which informed her that he has not had that before and my oldest son is allergic to it. She still prescribed it anyway. My son Anthony was on the antibiotic for 3 days and began to have an allergic reaction to it by rash all over his body. I stopped the antibiotic, and he spiked a fever. I contacted his pediatrician to see about getting another antibiotic. I called 4 times and left a message. Not one at the office got back to me.
Later that afternoon after 3pm, on Tuesday November 7th, 2022, I had to rush my son to the ER at Martin South due to a high fever. He is prone to seizures if he spikes a fever of 102 or higher.
I have now been billed for a $100 ER visit because my son's doctors in ability to prescribe the correct antibiotic to my son and the lack of ability to get an appointment for my son who is an established patient. I am fighting this ER visit bill.
In addition, I received a $168.05 ER physician bill for that day's visit with dr. Gavin Wilson.
I have filed an appeal through my health insurance
Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: I desire for these medical bills to be appealed, and that I will not be responsible for these bills.
Billing
My son had surgery on both his legs in 2021. He had three sets of X-rays pre surgery, in surgery and 2 weeks post surgery before cast removal. Surgery was covered by insurance and 2 of 3 sets of X-rays were covered by insurance. The last set of X-rays were denied by insurance due to codes being different. I obtained a letter from my Doctor stating the code should be corrected. CCF will not make the change after a year and half of trying. I have had multiple CCF “escalation specialists” and they do nothing but agree with me that this needs to be corrected then fail to follow thru.
Desired outcome: Correct Codes on the last set of X-rays, resubmit to my insurance so I pay the proper amount.

My father visit to hospital on 01/06/2023
My dad had gone to Urgent Care first they sent him to Cleveland Clinic for a STAT CT SCAN due to possible STROKE on Friday Jan 06, 2023 he arrived with my sister at 10:52am and his scan was not preformed til 1:06pm. After that he was made to wait for a total of hours with never being attended or looked at or spoken to after. I work in the health care field and find this very disappointing I understand that right now hospital are filled with sick people and understaffed but this is ridiculous. You have the front staff in particular a man named Chris who not sure where he earned his degree to become a nurse as he lacks empathy, care for others and kindness' and more than anything professionalism to address your issue you have he yells at people saying I do not know anything well you're looking a screen that you see what patients are waiting how long for what reason how many rooms are available etc. He was never asked to review or read ct scan just how long it was going to take to be seen my dad was upset and my sister and myself were trying to keep our composure. Unprofessional nurses handling patients in the waiting room not sure what her name was but she was wearing a green uniform rude and laughing at me being upset my dad waited for so long. How is it safe to have people on IVR drips, have IVR needs in their arms walking around in the waiting area, also with blood pressure cuffs as well like what the hell is going on here. I was at St Lucie Medical two weeks earlier with my grandfather and he was seen in 20 mins and the professionalism and attendance of patients was a lot better than here, I went to Lawnwood a week ago for my daughter to be seen in the Emergency in 20 mins total time no one walking around in either hospital with all the [censored] that was going on at the Cleveland Clinic I would highly recommend you not waste your time and go to this hospital the lack of luster to HELP PEOPLE and JUST COLLECT MONEY from people this is nuts. Patients in the halls outside of other patients' rooms is nuts and no one knows what is going on. You need to staff with people that know how to handle overwhelming and stressful situations in a professional manner. Another thing the only thing my dad had done was CT SCAN no blood work, urine, etc to be waiting that long if it was told to us that we need to wait 6 hours to be seen it would of been understandable but not even that! I can help you learn to handle and run a front end of a hospital I done it for years and know that people are all important no matter color, issue and or reasoning to why they are coming to see you.
Trying to schedule an appointment with a primary care doctor
I've tried numerous times on numerous occasions to schedule an appointment with a primary care provider. I've called numerous times to different departments. It's ridiculous how long you are put on hold. I've tried online and through MyChart, and nothing has worked. I finally got a virtual appointment with a doctor that is at the main campus, which I will not travel down there for that and have to pay to park. Healthcare should be affordable and helpful. Doctors now come in and hurry you out of your appointments. It's very frustrating and disappointing. There's always advertising for same day appointments. Good luck with that. I am not happy with my treatment as of late with the Cleveland Clinic. Very seriously thinking about switching to the UH health system.
Desired outcome: Would like an in-person visit with the provider I selected at my location of choice, which is Beachwood location, or at least to be contacted by a live person to see what the problem is.
My chart app
I have used Mt chart from onset. No prob until today 12/19/22. Recvd apt. Cluck to to precheck. Only garbled error. Call back scheduler has me cal your tech dept. I tried app & web browser on 3 different devices. Same error. Finally get call back from tech leaves voiceless no name no number. Another scheduler changed apt so I can go in person to do precheck still waiting on call back. I did techs job for 3 1/2 hrs this AM. What will I be paid? Worse customer svc EVER I HAVE NOT COMPLAINED about CC only praise until now
Desired outcome: Fix your tech dept.
MRI appointment
I made an appointment weeks in advance for an MRI. My appointment was for 3:20pm on 12-12-22. I showed up at 2:55pm and checked in at the front desk and on the kiosk. I paid my deductible and had it emailed to me. The email was stamped at 2:56pm.
I waited an hour and then asked what was the issue. I was told that I was supposed to wait in another area. After 1.5 hours I was told that I wasnt checked in and it would still be awhile before they would even speak to me.
I told them I wanted my deductible refunded and I was (rightfully) upset. They called the police on me and said I was rude and disorderly.
Desired outcome: I would like someone fired
Physicians, surgeons and emergency room at avon, ohio location
Through a series of events, I discovered that the Cleveland Clinic will cover up its mistakes in several ways. Medications are administered to silence patients simply for the convenience of the physicians and emergency room technicians even when there is no reason to do so. This was done to me to cover up for the improper prescriptions of a general physicians that landed me in the ER (I admitted myself). They held me sedated and against my will for days without reaching out to my contact they have in my file (phone records to prove it). When informed I had been under observation for 3 days! I was astounded that my contact nor anyone else had been informed of what was going on during that time. Even more scary is that I do not recall a single thing from that time. Wonder what they had me on. Hard to say, since there appears to be no record of the medications administered during that time. They have since used this to incident to discredit me within their own organization and probably in court should this reach that point. Afterword, I was lied to by the general physician about her "reasoning" behind all this. Sadly, gaslighting has become the "new normal" at the Cleveland Clinic. There is more to this story, but I'm saving that for the court room.
Desired outcome: Investigation by governing organization
Accept the case or refer another professional quickly
I came across a doctor who dropped my case this past summer... Instead of looking for a professional to pick up the new case and make a second judgement, we were left out in the cold not knowing what to do next. A hospital as large as the Cleveland Clinic needs to give their patients the best quality care possible. If they cannot treat or care to take a difficult case, they should pass on their patients to another provider rather than dumping them. We had an issue where no diagnosis was made until my doctor found the doctors note with a so called dianoses that was never addressed... is this going to be the doctors at the clev clinic making up medical info?... When we went to see another doctor, he pushed us out the door with such a "rare"condition that had no substance or proof in the notes. This makes both the GP and Patient look bad and the CC becomes a trash health care.. think about it.
If doctors are no longer working in the best intrest of the CC, then they must be let go so a good doctor can get the job done.
Desired outcome: start watching your doctors more closely and evaluate honestly and objectively.
Ordering tests without consultation
I went to the Cleveland Clinic in London in November of 2021 where I had my yearly physical. The GP did a good job and asked for a complete blood screen. He shared the results with me. One of the blood tests was for a Free PSA that he did not did order. That was ordered by a Urologist Dr. Sooriakumaran who had never examined me. The GP rightfully questioned this test because my PSA were within the normal range. He subsequently talked to the Urologist and recommended that I see him. I did and he is the worst Doctors I have ever dealt with. He tried to bully me into getting an MRI which I told him no. He insisted I am a borderline case where the evidence is to the contrary. I complained but got no satisfaction.
Desired outcome: I want DR. Sooriakumaran to be reprimanded!!!
