I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the services we recently received at Cohen's Fashion Optical, specifically pertaining to an issue involving an attempt not to return to us the forms filled out with medicare insurance and my mother's signature.
On October 18th, 2023, my mother and I visited your Queens Center Mall location for an eye examination. We had called early and made an appointment and were expecting a smooth and efficient process. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory and has left us deeply concerned about the conduct of your staff.
First and foremost, our appointment experience was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. Despite having called ahead to schedule the appointment, we were made to wait for an excessive amount of time, well beyond what we had anticipated( At least 2 hours). This delay was particularly distressing for my 88-year-old mother, who was already apprehensive about the visit.
However, the most alarming aspect of our visit was the conduct of one of your employees. We decided not to proceed with the eye doctor's exam because my mom showed signs of fatique. This is where the issue arose. I requested all the forms we signed to be returned to us since we didn't see doctor. The female employee informed us that the forms we filled out and signed had already been shredded. We were taken aback by this response as it was clear that this was not the case. We strongly believe that her actions were intended to make us leave the premises while still allowing the company to receive payments from the insurance company. This unethical behavior is deeply concerning and unacceptable.
I brought my mother to your establishment, hoping for a professional and respectful experience. Instead, we encountered unwarranted delays, a lack of transparency, and what appears to be an attempt to exploit an old lady.
Desired outcome: A fair disciplinary action and a notification on what you intend to do.
