I stopped at this service station to use the most disgusting public facilities I've ever had the displeasure of using. The smell and presentation was horrendous and customers were complaining about the state and smell. You'd think that staff would have basic training in hygiene and cleanliness of these facilities as it is no doubt part of their initial training. These facilities have had no care or maintenance in months. I hope no one gets sick, send in an inspector and have this place shut down, we are not living in a third world country.

Its 21-09-2018, time 9:20 -9:25 am, I have had worst experience of my life at coles express, 187 Riversdale Rd, Hawthorn VIC 3122,
Employee named Mona said to me while I came out of their toilet and just picked up a large cup of coffee "excuse me, how many times I told u to not park the car there, a customer is waiting" but I never had this discussion before not with any of the staff,
I replied am I not a customer?
I did stop my car where everyone else does at the fuel point, maximum no. Of cars there were 1 or 2,
"She said u can park ur car at d side"
I replied "but that space belongs to the car garage next door and I am ur customer not their"
She was so so so rude, a very nonsense person, noticed this rude behaviour before many times but never had an issue or argue, as rest of the staff their are very nice infact they know me pretty well as I buy coffee 3-4 times every day and other stuff as well,
I dnt know how can some employee treat their customers like that, felt insulted and had no other options but to leave the store,
Promise will never go back,
If that kind of employees are working with coles express, its a bad name and a shame for them,
Employee like this should b fired straight away and should never allowed to work at any customer service job,
If coles express management have any doubts or think that I m lieing or anything they can check the recording of that time and double check each and every statement I wrote here,
Happy to b contacted or ready for any assistance, rest is up to u guys but m never going back to that store as I m scared to get insulted again, no body wants to ruin their day,

Purchased a case of the above product from 100 Briens Rd, NorthMead, NSW on the way for a picnic on the 21st of Jan, 2018. It was about mid-day. The cases of water was stacked outside the Coles Express Service Station.
Water tasted off. Tasted more like plastic migration from the primary packaging into the water. It was a very hot day. I still have the entire case with me if you need it for testing purposes.
I purchased the product for $10 using my credit card and don't have a receipt.
I would like a full refund for this off stock and I would like to know what was in the water that we drank. About 8 of my family members had tasted the product from their bottles of water which I served them without knowing what it tasted like. All of them mentioned that the water was not typical to that of drinking water.

I would like to report the unorthodox customer service from this employee. She is overly inappropriate and is beyond disgusting with her vulgar sexual comments. She openly talks about sexual and her drug habbits to customers which i find extremely inappropriate in the work place.
I and many others have stopped using this service station because this woman is working there and I'm sure we arent the only ones who find it disrespectful. She also wreaks of marajiana

Hi my name is Fifi.
It was today on Sunday 16/07/2017 @ approximately 9.10pm & it was so freezing cold.I was at a pump of 15/16 which I normally go to for 20yrs now because I lived just the corner.
I held the pump up & manage to only pump $0.70 then stop so I keep on pressing the nozzle but still stop. I stood & looked at Indian lady w/1 customer & doing nothing & im feeling so freezing cold with the cold wind frequently blowing at me.
So i kindly & willing to try another pump behind me, so I insert my pump & pressing like 10times still no fuel running (it usually worked fast) & I thought I better make eye contact but the Indian service lady was on the phone & I'm so freezing waiting anxiously so I stop & walked inside.
I walked inside freezing anxious asked her with only using one slurred verbal language (is your pump [censor] working?) while she's still on the damn phone still & quickly answer "yes it's working".
So I told her "you know it's bloody winding cold out there & all you have to do is press the button ".
So I kindly walked out & pump my fuel then walking in to pay my fuel.
And then this lady quickly telling me "you're abusing me?" So I said what abuse? Then she said "because you swear at me and I will call the police?"
So I told her "that is not abuse, that is a slurred verbal language & your threatening me you want to call police?".
Well I like to say, this Indian lady has appalling poor service & communication.
I was kindly & willing enough to try another pump in this damn freezing winding wheather it's all because of her for not working & focusing properly by been on the phone.
First of all, she should not ever ever been on the phone while she's working. Because that is preventing her from switching on the pump for me.
She should wait till her shift is over then make that sweet call of hers for one hour if she like.
Then I wouldn't used this one slurred verbal language on her. Plus she threaten me of slurred word.
This is all her big mistakes for been on the phone while at work.
She should know better as she is an adult as this is no excuse at all for been on the phone while your at work & it will prevent for been slow service, appalling communication & poor problem solving.
Thank you for time in reding this and I hope in the future that people should realised work is work.

On the 27/11/2016 at 16:18 I pulled into the Service station, put in some fuel went inside to pay, I handed my fly buys card and docket to an attendant by the name of Keven, he scanned my fly buys card and went to hand it back to me as I went to take it he pulled it away reading the card and looking at me with filthy looks, after a period of time him doing this I said to him what ? He then started waving the card near my face until I said what again, (thinking the card was damaged or broken ) he then pointed to my name on the card and said so your Dawn Amos ! I said yes ! He repeated himself again still glaring at me, he then said well that is very strange because I know Dawn Amos and she works at Toormina! I then continued to bring to his attention that there is also a Dawn Amos that lives in Glenreigh and took my card and left.
The whole time I was in the store I felt humiliated and felt like I was treated like a thief as if I had stolen this other Dawn Amos's fly buys card, I have never been treated like that in this store before and for a start I don't know 'who gave Keven the right to even read my card or to treat and make accusations to a customer like that, but this needs to be rectified asap, I could clearly understand if it was a bank card, visa or MasterCard and it came to his attention, but there is no excuse being a fly buys card, absolutely disgusted in his behavior as a customer service attendant .Thank You for your Time, Dawn Amos.

My husband purchased Milk last night and the bottle of milk leaked in our car making quite a mess . When we opened the bottle the seal on the top was not even stuck down. Not happy about the mess we had to clean up and hope it has done no damage. Milk was use by 13 Oct 2015 VI batch no 272 20;57. Seeking a refund- milk and Vanish carpet cleaner.

Purchased fuel and paying with a company card. My exact words as I always do is 'just number 6 thanks.' The operator then asked if I wanted to purchase 2 packs of lollies. I said 'I just came in to buy petrol.' His reply was 'I have a right to ask.' Huh? Since when is this a right?
It isn't a right. What happened to customer service. A simple sorry sir would have sufficed but no instead he had a right to ask. That is bs it is sales tactics not a right.
Our rights are enshrined in the UN rights and I don't remember seeing this in their charter for living a safe and prosperous life.
Anyone else annoyed about these types of tactics to buy more in store?
Lol if you knew my background then education is the core to effective communication and future leadership and creativity. Getting a word out of context is important.
Many laws in western society are built around the principles of UN conventions. Just ask my lawyer for human rights in a matter she is dealing with. The rights themselves are not laws but are enshrined is laws for children and disabled and so on.
Thing is I was a console operator in a petrol station studying in uni and now own my own business. I would not want my workers using the incorrect word for up selling items so while I may appear sensitive to an issue it is words and actions that could keep a potential returning customer and yet I made the investment to run the company so I may be a little protective over issues as in the end I reflect on what type if worker I want in my business and one that is festive and thoughtful but not rude and belligerent.
I didn't say the UN rights had any force in law but our laws take into account the resolutions we sign into. If people want to use the word rights in a sentence then they need to get it right. Btw what I am writing about is from a human rights lawyer perspective. Our laws on discrimination and the like are based on UN conventions and resolutions and then countries interpret these into their laws for the well being of their citizens.
So where in anything does he have the right to up sell me stuff? Nowhere. It is company guidelines to fleece more money, not a right to use his hands into my pockets to get more money.
Yes his job up sell not his right to up sell. But if I as a consumer say I'm just here for petrol then a simple sorry sir woul be better than to say it is his right to do it. It isn't enshrined in a law for protection it is only a company policy for Christ sake.
As to don my country is a signatory to those rights from the UN. My constitution has nothing to say about the rights of the child but the laws of the land enshrine the UN rights within the laws our govt make. Take a look at anything to do about descriminatiom. Nothing abot it in a constitution but only enshrined in laws.

I have always filled my car to this service station, as I have done every week since I have lived in this suburb, for six years now.
I have my children in the car, and my little 2 1/2 years old asked to come with me so she can go to he toilet. And I so I took her with me and asked the attendant, Ajay, and he told me to asked the manager at the back if the shop which I did. They both said they don't have a toilet. I explained it's not for me to use it's for my daughter and she really need to go. But they insisted that they don't have a toilet. I have said that it is not right for a service station not to have a toilet, surely they have a toilet to use for themselves. My daughter at this point really squirming and ready to go. So I turned to her and said if you have to go then you have to go. Leaving us no option to use the toilet . And she was going because she started to wet her self . Not that she wanted to but because has to go ..and she was just toilet trained too.
The staff member, Ajay, eventually let us in to use the toilet. I was very thankful and apologetic at that time for finally considering to let her use the toilet because that save us a lot of trouble and embarrassment.
But, me being thankful was quickly angered when Ajay turned around and told me that I will get him fired for using their facility, and that I was a bad mum for not taking my daughter to the nearest toilet, and that I should take my daughter to red roster to use the toilet there instead..
And he was saying this in front of all other customer . I told him I was thankful he let use their staff toilet but I don't like his attitude and that wasn't good enough judging me. I told him I'm going to fill a complaint in this and left the counter but them he followed me in my car and started arguing, again in front of all other customer filling up their car. I told him to move out of the way and attempted to open my car door and he closed it and blocked my way and was on my personal space, and insisting and arguing with me.
I left that service station really upset. If I was the one that needs to use the toilet and was refused that would be different I can hold it until u get home, mo issues, but for a child you can't say that!
For a device station not to have a toilet facility is ridicules. And to reason out that it's policy that you can't let anyone use the toilet is obtuse reasoning.

Coles Express Gardenvale should do more to ensure their staff know what the advertised specials are and what grocery items are. On the back of the register the advertisement displayed said that if you purchase $20 of grocery goods instore you receive 10cents per litre off your petrol purchased. The woman behind the register had no idea about it and told me that milk and confectionery items were not grocery products. As such, I missed out on receiving the 10 cent discount. I also held up many people who were waiting to pay for their petrol. Not impressed.
employment policy
I would like to question the employment/ recruitment policy of Coles Express within Melbourne, Victoria.
Nearly all store managers at Coles sites tend to be of ethnic origin yet not a single Regional Manager is of ethnic origin! I would have thought that the turn around from store management to regional management would be acceptable if it was 20% or even 50% - But a 100% turn around shows that Coles Express only finds ethnics good enough for lower level management!
I am of ethnic origin and I have held a Regional Manager's roles for several years with other prominent companies within the petroleum industry. However, the failure to secure a single interview with Coles Express after numerous applications has got me thinking?

dera sir /madam, , , my name is domenic, on wednesday the 12 december at approximately 9.30 pm i attended my regular petrol station as i usually do for the last 20 years or so, as i live around the corner..
i proceeded to put 67 dollars of petrol and i went to pay my fee! the attented jhon from his name badge serverd me, and i paid with a 50 dollar note, 10 dollars in 2 dollar coins and 6 dollars in various 50 cent and silver coins!, he john refused to take my money as he said i had to pay in notes as the service staion does not take any more than 4 dollar coins in change, , , i thought great i dont have to pay for all my petrol today!, he told me he wouldnt take the money and i had to pay in notes again! this was embarrising as there was approximately 4-5 customers getting served from the other attended and two customers behind me... i couldnt believe the embarrasment he was cousing as he refused to take my monie!he then started to count the money in a angry manner, his body langage was so disgusting towards me i felt so embarrased from the fuss he was making, as i mentioned that i was sorry and i didnt notice any signs, i wanted to buy other products but i left quickly after he counted the money as i needed to get some air and leave the area from the embarrasment from the other customers...
i went to my car and waited for the customers to leave and i re-entered the store to buy my cigarettes escort red 35 pack, cant remember the price but i think it was 24.60, i paid him with a 20 dollar note and 4.60 in change, he refused to serve me as he told me that the ey dont take any more than 4 dollars change and it had to be a 5 dollar not and he wouldnt give me the cigarettes, i told him that this was another transaction and refused to sertve me ! i have never been so humiliated in my life like that, he made me feel like a thief, , i left in a hurry leaving my money on the counter as i had a hot flush and needed to get out of there before anybody noticed me, i have been so distraut of the manner i was treated and the angish i feel at the moment of the way i was made to feel in front of other customers as i fill mky car up every week as i have done so for the last 20 so years as my parents and my sister, as we all have a flybuy card, , it has made me feel deppressed this last week, as i dont feel i can show my face again in this service station for awhile, and now have to travel a few kilometers to another shell service staion and ask if they take change as legal tender, i went to the bp after that incident next door to the shell and i bought my cigarettes and i asked if they took change and the attened looked at me a little weired and said yes of course we do and i explained to him i didnt know that shell coles express didnt take change .
i hope i can get my money back for at least my cigaretts as nobody made an attempt to refund my money,

Coles Express the servo is a terrible place to work at the best of times. Mangers and 2IC's lie and discriminate and play favorites, which is rife.
*All CSR's and I mean ALL, in any company - have to take in money in any denominations by law! That is a fact!
Unless the money is badly damaged in some way is the only reason they can refuse other than that, if you want to pay on $1.00 coins for a $40.00 purchase lets say, you're legally allowed to do it. There is the head offices you can complain to and even to the police if need be.
The CSR is in the wrong and could be sacked! Stick up for your rights! They have to count the money and suck it up, that's their job!
Many Many times I get a $50.00 note and even times a $100.00 note, just for a bottle of milk, so be it that's life. I've received also many many times coins for $70.00 + purchases..head down and start counting! or get out of the CSR role.
I have had same problem at Coles port Augusta store with buying cigarettes I was broke and hanging for one ( my bad I know but took me all day scrounging the house and finally had enough to go get some i was told by the store manager that 10% of price could be in coins this irate do me and I said mate this is Australian currency and I need my smokes it is all that I have till my payday after a heated argument he told me to count it out and I said why do u can recount it and make sure I'm right ? Again a heated argument I told him I had already counted it and it was all there he angrily took my change and started counting it was about 1.80 short I laughed and said see lucky u did check I left school in year 8 because I'm not good at maths and a slow learner I got my smokes after half the store was there staring at me this must be wrong hey !?
This staff member is very very rude in every way described. Jus reasoning doesn't make any sense. And to refuse a paying customer because their carrying coins is unheard off. This is bad customer service, bad for the business... If I'm the employer of this person...disciplenary action is required or at least send your staff to a lecture on how to be a better customer service and learn some manners!

I purchased a two for one ticket for$12 on the 23/8/12 . I had to suddenly go back to the uk because my father was very ill and Only arrived back in Australia two days ago . I explained this to the lady in the petrol station but she said it was out of her hands. Surely under certain circumstances it would have been kinder to give me another car wash ticket . I regularly use the car wash and have never gone over before, I also fill up with petrol and use your store for my grocery shopping. I must say I was extremely disappointed in the service. slimy rip off
Just want to mention a scam I've noticed lately with Shell and Coles express. I bank with the NAB and always used to fill up at Shell service stations because I could avoid the bank fees by using an NAB ATM. I've noticed now that Shell no longer use's the NAB ATM service instead it has been replaced by a Coles express machine that is made to look exactly the same as an NAB ATM colour, shape, design is all exactly the same as an NAB ATM. The only difference now is that they charge you $2.50 for the privilege. I wonder what scam the genius marketing low lives at Coles express will come up with next to rip off the average Australian consumer.

Went to the above Service Station on Saturday September 24, 2011 at approximately 23:30 Hours to get Petrol.
On paying was served by a Male Attendant named Ravi of Indian Descent, who who was down right rude and impolite, and threw receipt at me.
When I contacted Duty manager the next day was informed that" he was feeling unwell", so that make it okay for him to do this Customers..Dont think so.
If your sick stay home, you should be ashamed of your rudeness and lucky you have employment.

Your service station on Port road at Hindmarsh, it doesn't open till 6am. It should be open at 5.30 am.as you are missing out on alot of service, due to not being open. Lift your game .very disappointing

Pump 3 is emitting a high pitched whining noise 24/7. It can be heard from within my house over 100 meters away. It has been happening regularly in past weeks but non stop for the last 3 days.
Toilet not being attended cleaned.I have been there several times as a customer and its a healthy time bomb
Coles Shell Express is just a big rip off or scam when it came to the toy cars collection. Sham on you Coles old G.J Coles would be rolling in his grave if he knew what his company was doing to his customers. I spend $400. A week on fuel at Coles Express but I am now never going back to Coles Express again.
Coles express faulconbridge has a new guy on in the mornings as of May 2018, I don't go there in the mornings anymore as the guy is extremely rude, I've said hello and morning, normal type of greeting, only to be met with either nothing or a grunt & one time I pressed the wrong button on the coffee machine accidentally & he had the hide to demand that I pay twice, put simply due to his arrogance I don't go there in the mornings anymore and the money I was spending there is now going to a better deserving petrol station. Simply put, the rudest person I've come across in service for many a year. Zero stars for him and your shop. You are the real DEPLORABLE
