rain checks
When Coles Auburn shut I started going to Greenacre store. Which is a long way to go, especially if specials are not available! Or your told come back tomorrow, what if load doesn't come in, or the item you want still isn't there! At least when the rain checks were for 12 months it made it more convenient, the fact that when you changed it back to 30 days, and we were not advised that's not right! Too only find out when going back 5 days past the 30 your told sorry about that, it changed! This is not good business, it also happened to my daughter who shops at Eastgardens and Hillsdale. As well as other friends who have also commented.
Thanks Heather
rude employee
Saturday afternoon I was served by a young girl called Anastasia. She was very rude and disrespectful. She handled my groceries violently by packing everything into the bag with no care of the fragile items. She also did not say hello or goodbye to me, the only thing Anastasia said was do you want a bag in a rude tone.
Today I was served by Anastasia again and it seems her behaviour had not improved. A trial should be conducted on those you are considering to employ to see how they handle customer service in a real scenario. I do not feel comfortable doing my shopping at Coles anymore if there is going to be such attitude within the work place.
found sharp plastic object in tuna
While eating a 95g can of Tuna from coles i found a sharp plastic object in the Tuna.
I just spat it out and no harm was done but could of done some damage if i swallowed it.
Just hope it was a one of thing so nobody else gets hurt
disrespectful staff
As a loyal Coles customer for many years I was absolutely disgusted by the attitude and disrespect I received from 'Ben' in the (Earlwood, NSW) store yesterday after I brought to his attention green 'mouldy' bread clearly displayed for all to see. I called him over to see what I had found and instead of thanking me for bringing it to his attention, he felt the need to express that he doesn't answer to immediate callings and had bad attituded and was disrespectful to me. I was shocked by his response. He continued to get smart and I said I would speak to his manager about his attitude and disrespect to the customer. He said 'he didn't care'. I then asked to see the Manager, Rory I believe was his name who as it appears did nothing about the situation. At the very least I would've expected an apology. I had an older lady who witnessed the entire situation. As a mother of teenagers, I do not expect to be spoken to by a young member of Coles Staff this way. Their job is to serve the customer and provide assistance. It's the poor hiring process and egotistical young generation who feel the world owe them something. They are also affecting the Coles brand by providing poor Customer Service. As a local who shops there, I have to say this is one of the worst Coles compared to others. There is never product on the shelves, they run out of things and don't stack the shelves. There is never enough staff to serve customers and Management look like they barely finished school. Something needs to be address here. I share this viewpoint by 1000's of locals and I can assure you if I were to put together a petition, I would have no issue getting the numbers. This is one of many stories I can tell you about this particular Coles and they continue to disappoint over and over. My only regret was not having taken a photo or video, however, I do have a witness who saw the entire situation unfold. It is a real embarrassment to the local shopping area. I would like to know what is going to be done about this to ensure it does not repeat itself? In the meantime, Woolworths Marrickville and Aldi Canterbury look like better options for my future groceries..

staff behaviour
My Daughter, her partner and four year old son moved to Yeppoon Qld 8 weeks ago. They bought a large boat and moved closer to the sea. My daughter has rang me in tears about the attitude of the staff when she uses the self service checkouts. On average her family spend 1200 per month on food at coles. Only two supermarkets in this coastal town and she is ready to change to woolworths.. The staff members on the door make her feel un comfortable and like she is a thief when her and her young son shp there, my daughter has a dark complexion and wonders if this is why the staff member singles her out for extra scrutiny at the checkout. Standing intimidating close, Still watching my daughter while answering the questions of other customers, so close that my daughter said if the woman exhaled heavily she would feel it. My daughter descibes
it as over the top and very embarrassing . My daughter and her partner make four times the average coles worker wage in a week, she has no need to steal although having worked in retail herself she is aware financial status does not define a thief rather moral concious . My daughter says she feels so intimidated she always takes the self serve option to take a receipt as she worries she will be stopped and accused. As this has happened repeatedly she has become very upset and does not wish to shop at coles . By refraining from using this store due to the staff members behaviour this woman is actually losing the company aroud 12, 000 dollars in sales to my daughter. would it be worth making a complaint or are there to many grey areas with this type of thing.? I am wondering if it is worth my daughter approaching the manager and introducing herself or whether she should just complain by way of spending her money elsewhere. It is understandable that staff need to keep a close eye on the goings on at the self serve but what my daughter has described is way over the top and unlike anything i have experienced at a self service checkout area. most staff greet you, make there presence known, offer assistance etc but this woman focuses on my daughter to the extreme and singles her out over other customers for heavy scrutiny. My daughter has her young son helping with the shopping etc and feels that he has picked up also on her discomfort. would like to see my daughter treated fairly without any possible prejudice, for this woman to treat her with the respect she gives other customers and to realise my daughters is financially secure, has morals and no need to steal. Is it worth complaining to Coles Yeppoon Manager or will it just go in the too hard basket. Should i let them know this staff member is potentially costing the store 12 to 15 thousand a year in lost sales due to her behaviour or not ?
Purchased fresh chicken when seasoning chicken noticed the chicken still had its stomach contents still inside noticed bruising on the outside skin also - best before date was 14-09-2014 -chicken had been frozen and defrost red ready to cook- not happy feeling quite discussed to find this.
staff dishonesty
We purchased fresh calamari from your coles store in batemans bay friday may 1. We could see the squid through the counter glass and stated that we only wanted the large ones. The next day, we decided to buy some more. We arrived before the squid were out of over night storage, (8:15am) and after finishing her chat with another staff member, the woman (Staff member) went to get them. We told her we only wanted the large ones, stating that the small ones were too much work. (See photo; they are tiny) very disappointed to find tonight at 5:45:pm that she has loaded us up with the small ones, giving us all she had! She did not do this in front of us, that is, with her back to us. We trusted her (That is coles) and what a mistake that was. @$14/kg it cost us $21.34 I do have the deli tag, tho stupidly pressed the "no receipt" at the automatic checkout. This is not the first time that this somewhat elderly lady, on shift saturday morning at 8:00 in the deli dept in batemans bay. Has done this sort of things. She loads the prawns up with ice, and attempts to clear the old prawns ones onto us if not directed as to which ones to place into the bag!. Out of principle, it is woolworths for us from now on.
I do expect a response> I have copied this complaint> thinking of posting it elsewhere and sending my opinion to "the checkout!"
service/staff member
I have been a customer of the Coles Tuggeranong store for a very long time and have had experience with poor service, but not so bad like this one. I went to this store after work on day to buy some meat. There was one person being served and I was the next one. I didn't see another person there. But the woman (Toranga, I think her name is) after serving the person she was with, then went to another person. I asked her why and she said that person was there before me. May be he was there and went away and returned, I'm not sure. But the issue isn't that, but the way she spoke to me. She was pointing her finger at me and yelling at me and I told her to put her finger down and she told me "Put your finger down". I think this is over the top. Another lovely lady served me and I left and returned a few minutes later to tell the woman that I was lodging a complaint to head office for action. I also told her the issue wasn't about serving another person before me but the way rude and inappropriate way she spoke to a customer. I also told her that she needed to look at how she communicates to customers. I see Coles advertising ' 'We employ over 30, 000 staff in the ACT and NSW'. But what is the point if you employ people of this nature. May be also pay some attention on the people skill of the people you employ. I would like to see you take some action on this matter and ensure that this woman doesn't serve customers ever again. Please also provide some intense training on customer service. I'm now reluctant to visit this store. On the other hand there are some lovely people at this same store, like Anna who's exceptional. I would like to be kept updated on this matter. You contact me via my flybuys details, number is [protected]
Also were were your parents when we were throwing a temper tantrum. In USA we have child labor laws, so a three year old like yourself would not be able to work. Judging from your behavior I think you are three years old.
It is that simple. If that person was before you they get served before you. If you are going to act like a child and try to cut in line then they will talk to you as if you are a child. What gives you a right to put your finger in her face when she cannot do the same. Grow up. What gives you a right to act rudely and inappropriately? You need to learn how to communicate with people working there. If you were in US they would have called security had you kicked out of the store. If you had acted your age rather than like a three year old you would have gotten better service. Hopefully one of your parents see this review where you admitted acting like a immature child and train you to behave better so this does not happen again.
no service
there is only 1 hr to shop for free parking. After I bought over $150 product and I found all registries were closed. There is a long queue at heip yourself machine area, . By the time I finished paying at 21:24pm, I found my shopping time has exceeded an hour and I had to pay $3 for my parking or shopping at Coles, All the inconvenience caused and a happy shopping experience turned sour . I consider not to shop at Coles anymore, Store:0942. 26/04/2015 Receipts : 3299 &9245 Mr Ping Ma
customer services
Hi, I just bought something at Coles about 10 minutes ago. And when I ask staff for help, the staff was so rude. Then I tell her straigh away that she is rude; and she said "Yes, I am rude". I've never seen this type of service at Coles before which is unbelievable.
Why are you sending text messages at 1am in the morning.
Regards
Vasudha- [protected]
Well you were acting like a three year old by straight out telling her she is rude, how is she to respond to that? Perhaps if you were not acting like a three year old you would have been treated better. I bet the rudeness was being told no or not getting your way.(again acting like a three year old)
vegetable and fruit
we are shopping at Coles Narrogin over 14 years spending 450-500 $ every second week
your so called fresh food has started over the years to getting so bad the beans you are selling getting brown and black after three three days in the fridge some with carrots you can make a Bumerang out of them after three days in the fridge, they should braek you are call this fresh food that is all bull you can tell it has been frozen before it cams to the shot and you are selling this as fresh food what is ###
I will pass this food next time on to the health department as I am sick of it to pay top money for food witch is not what you are advertaising
checkout management
Coles have an express 12 items or less checkout. This checkout is poorly signed and on two occasions I inadvertently attended this checkout with a full trolley. I was told that I needed to use another checkout because I had more than 12 items. That is reasonable as I did not see the sign. However over the last two visit I have noted that other shoppers with full trolleys are permitted to checkout. This is extremely frustrating as there appears to be a double standard that applies at the Eltham store. But what is really annoying is that I tried to lodge this complaint on the Coles website only to find that they do not have a complaints process (I am not surprised)
Upskill your staff including Michael in customer service or take him off the Surry Hills self-service checkout.
He’s rude and hopeless. Twiced he was also passively aggressive to us.
As a manager of staff, I appreciate feedback. I would assume Coles does also.
Since Coles has introduced the self checkouts the regular checkouts were reduced to a total of one, I have no problem going through the express lane. I would just (loudly) say that since Coles can't open enough checkouts they can either serve me or clear the items (and trolley) from the checkout themselves. Often there was someone senior near the so-called service desk and surprise, surprise, thay must have listened as now Coles in Burpengary, Qld. now open more checkouts as required.
So stand your ground and complain. They have no authority over you, the customer.
moth in the lettuce
Eating my salad which had your lemon and herb chicken mixed through it and I picked up something I thought was a piece of chicken. It wouldn't go onto the fork properly and on closer inspection realized it was a dead moth. I felt completely sick as did the rest of the family and we had to stop eating and go and purchase something else to eat. Very disappointed and upset as you can understand!
very very rude staff

I would like to mention a pet product namely Cole's rawhide strips. This products was re-packaged with a new plastic pack and is labeled ""beef basted"" I do not believe this is correct ? my two dogs have had the raw hide strips for nearly 5 years {old product}and when I gave them the new product they will not touch it . I believe the new stock to be smoked bacon at least that is what it smells like
It needs your attention.
Tried to access store at 9:15pm EST. All entrances were closed preventing access even though the store closes at 10pm.
Not happy with bagged apples Coles!
Should take more care when transporting fruit & veg
was accused of stealing..
bag was searched, Was asked for a reciept for everything in my bag..
Even my half empty already used deoderant can...
Then when i was in the all clear to leave the store,
The coles worker smirked and cursed at me for making her look stupid.
hii i buy falafel day before yesterday from dee why store (howard avenue)
when i go home and open that bag half of them are with fungus...this is the second time i get same ### from this store...everybody please carefull to buy this product from coles (dee why)
The price of tomatoes in alice springs is outrageous as we know they are cheap everywhere else in australia. As far as we know there has been no devastation to crops and the same thing happened last year. So why are they so expensive and why are we being charged nearly $10 a kilo. This is ridiculous.
I am tired of spending money on fruit which is inedible. The apple in the photo attached was bought today but had to be thrown away.
Ordered a deliver received a conformation email sayin 17th of April delivery between 7 -9 I have yet to receive my delivery of shopping.
your service manager don't know about his own duty and he is rude too.i don't know how he got this position that's all i can say because when ever i ask for item he don't know where is the item location in the store please change him to another store if its possible.

while @ coles today i wanted to buy normal sticky tape well you cant omg what is this world coming to when you cant buy just normal old clear sticky tape, there were other brown ones weird looking non clear ones but not normal sticky tape . well i took my busniess to safeway there lost.
fruit & vegetables area
I understand the store opens at 7.30 am. At 8.00 am today, the fruit and vegie section was appalling: few vegies available; left-overs from Saturday still for sale; cabbage should have been in a rubbish bin; mushrooms ditto; fruit sparse and not attractive; displays still being filled; parts empty of vegies; trolleys blocking aisles. Called back after doing rest of my shopping in the store, about 8.30, and not much different. Not the first time I've drawn this to Coles' attention at Kingston. Thoroughly bad presentation when everywhere else in the store looks good. What's wrong with the place. Staff are OK; check-outs good usually early on a Sunday morning.
Very disappointing. Will have to go to W/w now for at least my vegies. You can afford to lose my custom? And others not impressed today either. Get it fixed! Like now.

poor customer service
Very poor customer service. A woman called Yanti at World Square Coles SYDNEY. She did not know her product, ie mangoes were being on sale as they were about to go bust, so really everyone's trying to get them out. Coles had a sign that it was $9.00. Firstly, she tried to charge $45. Then when you point the sign out (why does she not know of its discount, and why did management not brief their staff?) There were somewhat 6 tall (150cm high) crates of mangoes about to go bust. Clearly, uneducated on store's supply, and store's product. Ok, so let's excuse that and park that due to bad management not informing their staff. Secondly, no greeting, made, no "please" and definitely no "thank you". She was unhappy to be there, unhappy to serve and she made it loud and clear that you are just a person she did not want to serve. She did not want that job. Self check out is the way to go. It is more efficient and you do not have to put up with attitude. But I thought I would give it a go, as it has been a year or so since I used people check outs! Best that Coles make them all redundant. The machine service trumps them any day, any time.

purchased off food
On Monday afternoon we purchased 1.5 kgs of chicken breast from the deli and we brought it home and put it in the fridge. Today (thursday) we took it out of the fridge to cook dinner and could immediately smell the chicken was off we could smell it before we even removed it from the paper and plastic bag. We are very disappointed as we shop at coles all every week and now we will b discouraged from shopping there again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I recently had the same problem when purchasing online in Fairfield Qld. But as I froze it, and didn't use it for another 2 weeks, I couldn't make a complaint. When I defrosted it to use that night for dinner, it was definitely off, we nearly had to evacuate the house, because of the stench, it was horrible.
order cancellation
I placed an order on behalf of the School of Psychology, UniSA on Monday, 24/11/2014. The goods were supposed to be delivered at 10 Pitt St. between 11:30 and 13:30 on Wednesday, 26/11/2014. I even made a phone call a day before to make sure attention was made to Ms. Jacquie Heritage and a gentleman who answered the phone kindly confirmed the name of the person the attention had been made to. On Wednesday, 26/11/2014 at 12:47pm (the School tracks both incoming and outgoing calls) a certain Josh from Coles called to enquire about the name of the contact person and I provided him with that information noting that the name had already been given twice (in the online form and over the phone). About an hour later we received the order cancellation e-mail. We were informed that two phone calls were had been made to our School that no one answered, i.e. 'that someone picked up the phone and hung up'. As I said, our School tracks both incoming and outgoing calls and the call made at 12:47pm is the last recorded incoming call. Considering that the cancelled order was placed for purpose of catering for a very important event at Uniting Communities, I believe that the School deserves an explanation and an apology.

very poor customer service
I was in Coles Belconnen yesterday waiting at the service counter for the lady in front of me being served, A man by the name of Craig attended the lady enquiry. When completed he then served 2 other customers that had just walked up to the counter when I was clearly visible that I was next in line. When I told Craig that I had been waiting ... He then started to ARGUE with me saying that I should have spoken out louder ... I found out later Craig 325 is an assistant manager of Coles Belconnen, shame on you for VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE especially being in your position of the store. A good manager should be more vigilant of your surroundings ..
and definately do not argue ...
