Fresh red grapes
I bought approx 1.2 kgs of red grapes costing @ $4.50 per kg.
When I got home there were two small bunches of grapes on the top and the rest of the bag were full of loose grapes that have obviously been scooped up and put in the bag because there weren’t any branches that they had fallen off.
All these grapes were soggy and not able to be eaten.
I was unable to return them to the Altona store so had to dispose of them.
Not happy at all because things are expensive enough these days without having to throw them away.
Desired outcome: Refund
In store shopping at Wodonga plaza shopping centre
I went into Coles at Wodonga plaza with a friend around 8:30pm 12/5/22
Upon walking to the checkout and noticing that none were open I replied any checkouts open, another lady replied to a worker named Eden can you open up a check out. The worker (Eden) replied back rather rudely do you need a check out open, I replied back feeling uncomfortable (as I'm ASD - autism) it's ok I will use the self serve. Eden than replied rather rudely again with attitude it's hard for us workers to open a checkout when we have other things to do. (Yeah right standing around)
Upon paying for my groceries at self serve, U didn't realise the worker was standing behind myself watching my every move. This is not the first complaint I've made to Coles at Wodonga plaza shopping centre Victoria. It seems I cannot walk into the store while this worker is present. When is something going to be done about this workers bad attitude. She isn't just very rude to myself but other customers also. None of my complaints have been addressed as I haven't received any feed back from Coles Wodonga themselves. I think Wodonga Coles at the plaza will loose my business in shopping there if this continues.
There's no need for rude staff.
Desired outcome: For the worker to be kinder to the customers. And not to have an attitude.I would like a follow up now with this complaint.I've made a few complaints now to head office and have only been told yes we will pass it on to the team manager.?????
Delivery
Completed an online order for delivery for next day. Delivery driver gave me someone else’s order. I called into the customer service line and spoke with sohil. They told me that they have reordered my groceries and gave me a new order number, but never actually reodered them. Instead he apparently just cancelled my groceries without telling me. I called in a second time and the new person stated the order was completely cancelled. I have waited around all day for my groceries to be delivered which is a waste of my time, no communication was provided to me regarding the cancellation until I called customer support again. I am extremely upset and frustrated. Initial order number [protected]. Second order number which apparently didn’t exist [protected]. Will not use this service again.
Desired outcome: A redelivery or email or phone communication notifying me that my grocery order needed to be cancelled.
Online shopping credit card fraud
To Whom It May Concern, On Sunday the 2nd of April 2023, I rang the Coles Online reporting line and spoke to one of your representatives as I had opened my 85-year-old mothers ANZ account to find that someone had placed an online order on Thursday, 30th of March 2023 using my mother's debit visa card details for $291.25. It was shown as a pending...

The meat tasted like nothing I had ever eaten before. I suspect it might have been horse. I had to throw the whole roast out, after I had paid $20 for it. Even my cat wouldn't eat it. I didn't think I could return it as I had sliced it up and put in freezer containers for future meals. I would baulk every time I thought about eating one of the meals I had prepared with roast vegetables and gravy. I have had the same problem with your BBQ Beef Burgers. Again I could not identify the taste of the meat. I could not eat them as I thought they might be horse. I had throw those out too. I won't be buying your meat again.
Poor Customer Service at Self Service Coles Hoppers Crossing Victoria
We are customers at Coles Hoppers Crossing for over 10 years. Yesterday 30/03/23 the time after 2 pm. - 3.30 pm. At self service point when I asked "Excuse me" for help by the staff at that time and I got her replying by making face to me before she walked to help. Before I left I said "Thank you" but she didn't care or reply any word. This was the second times that she has a very poor customer service.
I understood that everyone had a bad day and she tired but she had to do her job because customers need her to help when the monitor came up with the problems. Otherwise I won't ask her at all just let she stood there and got paid.
I can't remember her name but I remember her face. If I met her again and I got bad service again from her. I will get her name and write complaint again.
Desired outcome: Hopefully The Manager at Coles Hoppers Crossing will fix this problem.
Cleanliness/follow up service
Hello
I was at my local chadstone store a couple of weeks ago now - I slipped and fell on the floor because I stepped on grapes that were on the floor.
I gave my number to the duty manager but he never rang me to see if I was ok.
I complained on the coles facebook post and gave my number close to a week ago but still no follow up.
Really bad service for a long time shopper at Coles - moving over to Woollies now, will not shop in a store where no one cares.
Quite bruised and sore, not to mention embarrased.
Loss prevention officers following around store. Sending a guard to the car with me.
I do not steal, have not stole from your stores and WILL not return to anything to do with Coles or wesfarmers.
I will tell as many people as I can about you pathetic practices and unchecked loss prevention officers.
Today at Coles Robinson road market place I proceeded to go in and do my weekly shop. This time I had to go without my partner as I have a problem with public places but decided to venture out on my own as its our local coles. I drive past two other supermarkets to go to this one because of tbones.
Today, from the time I left the meat cabinent, I had two bald overwieght blokes watching me, I thought it was a little strange but shrugged it off, thinking I was just paranoid, however I turned into an isle and magically at the end of the isle the two overweight bald blokes with no shopping and an half empty coke bottle were standing there as if supervising me, I again shrugged it off and thought maybe they were badly dressed reps talking with each other, turned the oppiset direction and left that isle and skipped a few. Low and behold baldy peaking in from the same end to my new isle.
So I think im paranoid that coles loss prevention officers are indeed following me, so I turn and go back the oppiset direction to get some tinned beetroot. Again dumb and dumber watching me, so by now I decided I have every right to take my time deciding on what and where I go, and take their picture as I turn the corner of the isle, only to encounter a fitter yet strange enough shopper with no bags and an incestous need to peer into the freezer isles. So I decided to also covertly take his photo and refuse to put anything in my trolley until he leaves the isle. Then baldy comes by again with his half emtpy coke bottle. so I also get front and back photos of him.
Someone musnt like this so hes sent packing anf a security guard is promptly arranged to follow me into an over crowded elevator down to my vehicle.
Once back in my vehicle I rang the store manager. Cameron, to complain, I will bow decide where is best to send my photos of your loss prevention officers, their vehicle and the commentary of this ridiculous encounter to.
I am so disappointed coles, you were my weekly store. and why? Just because I wear a cap (because I have a scalp and hairloss problem) and social anxiety problem you treated me like scum. This is predatory behaviour and is not what I expected of your brand. I understand the need to pursue thieves, but I am a regular of your store and its not like its impossible to contact the police with proof if I was in fact a thief. Disgusting behaviour!
Desired outcome: Appology

Desired outcome: to find out why, I phoned the shop and it was an Indian that answered, He told me the manager wasn't there, and no one was in charge, to phone back Monday.
Coles security guard / store manager Caroline springs
Thursday the 9th of February I attending the coles Caroline springs at about 10-1030am, to do my weekly shopping that I have been doing for the past 14 years, as I was doing the self serve I noticed the female security guard stand infront of the checkout and kept watching me the store was full of people but she picked me and stood their over me watching my every move I felt very uncomfortable, I do admit that day I looked a little rough as I had a sick child at home and didn’t sleep all night as I was looking at my receipt I saw another male security with her they were discussing something in Indian language and proceeded to look at me. As I started to walk out of the store the female security guard approached me aggressively and said can I look at your receipt I said Ofcourse she then infront of everyone in the store accused me of stealing two boxes of ice cream as I stood there stunned by the accusations I said excuse me check my items how dare you accuse me of stealing she then said walk with me and the staff will re scan everything again as you took the ice cream without paying, as I started to get annoyed the male security said I guess what she means is that some people forget to scan items and that can happened no she applied that I stole the items don’t now cover for her after the coles worker scanned my items which was close to $200 the items came up a few dollars less which showed I actually scanned one item twice. The female security guard looked stunned asked the coles employee if she took all the items out and checked my bags properly which the coles employee said yes Ofcourse I’ve scanned all her items. The male security guard looked embarrassed and asked me if I need help to pack and walked off. I was so mad I was discriminated against right from the go I was demoralised and embarrassed by their actions I’m a local and I will never set foot in that place again as I’m too embarrassed my kids go to the local school and I’m close to the community the male manager that was on duty was incompetent in his job there was no apology by him or the security guards. I’ve left an complaint with coles and haven’t heard back anything I’m now too ashamed to enter the Caroline springs shopping centre that I visit every second day because of the coles security and the manager on duty, I will now look into taking legal action against coles and will post it on all social media platforms and also the local Caroline springs page to make people aware of how I have been discriminated against, the most frustrated part was after the employee scanned everything she still couldn’t believe that I didn’t steal anything.
Fruity sherbet bombs
I purchase fruity sherbet bombs on a weekly basis and always purchase about 3 pkts at a time. The last few bags I have bought have had empty wrappers in the bag. I understand sometimes they get missed but when it happens often it makes you wonder why?
When I do purchase them I do grab different batches to see if it is maybe a one off but it definitely isn’t.
Desired outcome: Would like replacement please
Off chicken schnitzels
I shopped this afternoon 21/11/2023 at coles central and purchased in date 25/11 chicken schnitzel for dinner. When I opened packet they felt firmer than usual as I was cooking they started to smell weird. When I cut one open clearly off. I think they must not of been refrigerated properly . Didn’t want to drive back as I needed to prepare something else for hungry family.
Desired outcome: Money back please
Stealing
Online shopped at Coles on 13/10/2022 invoice number [protected]. Didn’t give me 2 items as out of stock and stated they wouldn’t charge me. Continued to charge my account. Contacted Coles and told me they would give me a credit note? I had my account overdraw as they stated they wouldn’t charge. I want a refund not a credit note. Time taken out of my work day to try and sort this out
Desired outcome: Full refund, overdrawn fees on account and time spent trying to sort this out as Coles is stealing and fraudulent
The credit notes are a scam to get you to place another order even if you are so disappointed and do not want to deal with them, I call and tell them to refund to my bank account. Their website is the worse ever come across, and never use private coles delivery terrible and meat is bad,
Online Order
My wife made an online grocery order on Monday 14 November, number [protected] which was to be delivered on Tuesday 15 November no later than 1.30pm.
Despite the money being taken out of my wife's account, it has never arrived.
My wife and I have made several calls to customer service since and have been unable to get through to speak to someone. I've also tried calling the [protected] number and the person I spoke to explained he couldn't deal with any un delivered orders and when he transferred me to the relevant section the call was promptly cut off!
Desired outcome: Our groceries to be delivered with a sincere apology.
Promotion spend $50 on line and receive 2000 points and 20% discount on total purchase
I boosted this offer on 26/8/2022 I placed an order for $107. This was an online order and before I confirmed order I telephoned coles online as the 20% discount was not displayed. I was told this would happen when order was being processed and was encouraged to place the order. Order no [protected].
It is almost two months and I still have not been credited the 20%. I have wasted precious time with Coles online, who tell me they can’t do anything it is up to flybuys. Again I wasted valuable time with flybuys in fruitless phone calls. I had the complaint escalated and was told they couldn’t compensate me it was up to coles. Talk about pass the buck, after again phoning coles today I was told they couldn’t pay the 20% as it was a flybuys promotion.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I KNOWMITSMONLY $20 BUT WHEN YOU ARE ON A FIXED INCOME EVERY BITNCOUNTS
Desired outcome: I would like to receive my 20% owing
Punitive and peculiar elder abuse from coles customer service
On 14 September 2022, my elderly father (86) who suffers from dizziness and is unstable when walking after suffering a stroke, responded to an ad in his local paper to get $5 off meat purchases of $15 dollars or more. It was a one day only offer. He attended Coles Mentone and took with him the advertisement from the newspaper. After selecting his meat purchases he then attempted to obtain his $5 discount. This was denied as the cashier did not know how to process the transaction. Another staff member was called. They also could not process the transaction so the discount was denied. They confiscated the ad from my father.
According to Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, this type of misleading advertising is "illegal", even if it is unintended, but good luck trying to get anyone to do anything about it. And Coles certainly knows this, and their customer service operators are very arrogant and condescending when you point out that their behaviour is illegal.
I lodged a complaint online with Coles Customer Service, as my father cannot operate email or the internet. Their solution was to offer my father $10 worth of vouchers redeemable in-store at $2 increments in any one week over a period of five weeks. In other words - he was not only required to spend the $10 compensation at that supermarket - but he had to travel to Coles for five weeks in a row to obtain this 'benefit'. Quite possibly it would cost him more than this to travel to Coles.
A customer service story about another supermarket may put this horrible behaviour in context. Two years ago during the lockdown when we were all asked to socially distance, I was shopping at Woolworths and a staff member barged down an aisle and pushed into me, almost knocking me over. I complained to management, providing them with a description of the staff member. I expected them to do nothing but hoped they would at least tell that staff member to comply with social distancing guidelines. I got a telephone call later that day, an apology and a $50 store voucher. Also my local Woolworths Metro was the first supermarket to install one way aisles. That is a supermarket that cares about customers. Coles does not.
I have written to Coles and told them that the gift of a $50 voucher for my father might show them in a comparative light to Woolworths. They countered with a $20 voucher. I did not accept it. I would also like an apology, not simply for the failure to honour an advertised discount, but for the terrible customer service offered by Yves ($10 in $2 increments) and Daisyanna (the counter offer of $20).
Desired outcome: See above. Please publish this complaint.
I am currently on hold trying to get through to Coles online. At the beginning of the call, I was informed it was a 15 minute wait. 45 minutes later, a 'team member' came on the line and his English was so poor that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I asked to speak to someone else and was put back on hold. Again I was informed it was a 15 minute wait.
After a total of 1 hour and 39 minutes of being on hold, another team member came on the line and was equally difficult to understand. I asked for his name but was ignored. When I said I couldn't understand him, he hung up on me.
This is disgusting service and shows that Coles doesn't care about it's customers.
Mobile SIM card
I bought 5 SIM cards for my travel in Australia. One of them didn't work so I wanted my money back. They put me through a full customer service process even though I was not in the country for very long. I still haven't been refunded the money 3 months later. It's been painful trying to chase this and they keep asking me for the same information but didn't repay me. They can see that I didn't use the SIM so I'm not trying to get something for nothing.
You can see in the series of emails below that even though the complaint case number doesn't change and even though they acknowledge receiving information from me, they keep asking for the same thing over again. Regards Adam
Desired outcome: I want my $40 back.
Coles unfair trade practice
Coles Complaints
Wed 7 Sep 2022
UNFAIR TRADE-UNETHICAL PRACTICE
My trolley total before ı checkout $250.32
after proceed Coles add up trolley total $273.51
than Order total $259.56.
I agreed to purchase Coles products for a discounted price total $250.32
Coles cannot use an accountunting trick, adding up total $250.32+$23.15 discount = trolley total $273.51 than after recalculate find out order total $259.56
Since I havent purchased any additionl products or services
How come my agreed purchase $250.32
After acounting tricks cost $259.56
Why did Coles raise $9.24
Note: In addition, the $ 20 discount code provided for purchases over $ 250 is not accepted.
Desired outcome: Coles have multi million $$$ motive based on this simple accounting trick and contract law minupulation. 1- Pay back unfair earnings 2- Apology 3- exemplary fine
Special discount for ordinary person means:
Your supplier may have a clearence, May need cash and drop the price,
Product may close to due date
Product may discontinued
Introduced a new or better product
many other reasons drop the price in order to sell fast.
Staff at coles yarrabilba
I shop at coles yarrabilba every week, and am constantly frustrated with the lack of experience in how to pack shopping.
I always need to tell the check out person how to pack the items and which bags to use, surely they have training or one would assume so. But this does not appear to be the case here. Staff need training on this and also on conflict resolution as they lack hugely in these areas. I would rather pack it myself or might change to Woolworths where I know they can do the job properly.
Thanks
Sheralee
Desired outcome: Sort it out
Online delivery
Was informed before delivery that two items I ordered were out of stock . According to the docket they did not have a substitute available . The product 2 loaves of white bread and they didn’t have a substitute . Obviously Coles doesn’t have any bread one white loaf is very similar to another , the bread was just plain doughy white bread no fancy seeds or additional vitamins just white bread . Now either they don’t have any bread or the picker is one lazy individual and couldn’t be bothered .
Not happy
Desired outcome: The individual who packed it to contact me and tell me truthfully why they couldn’t find a substitute
Ordered dinner and some snacks via Coles Online for my elderly mum who lives in Adelaide. I live in Perth. She was isolating with covid and it was her birthday.
Two items were apparently unavailable and unable to be substituted; her actual dinner ud ordered (the meat was Coles made easy chicken) and a 4pk of Schweppes agrum blood orange drinks. So her dinner was mostly not available.
There were at least 8 versions of the Coles made easy meals apparently available online, and 4 different flavours of drinks when I'd ordered it 24 hours before. So they can't find a substitute for these? Such laziness...
I'm quite disgusted as my mum had nothing but snacks for dinner on her birthday. As it was, the website is so bad it took an hour to submit the order.
I'll never order through Coles online again.
