Credit Karma Who's filing the class action?

Who's filing the class action? Everything worked out fine for me. and their customer rep was responsive but wanted me to share my personal info through email just to answer some simple questions. I thought that was a bit odd. But I received my refund advance quick like advertised and received my card as advertised. The late timing and everything for me was expected. Hey, what do you expect to get for free? Nothing is for free. Especially when you are dealing with a financial institution. Let all ask ourselves this question? Who in this world needs a cash advance? Let me answer that for you. We do. Us poor low income 2nd class citizens. The truth hurts doesn't it? well that's the truth. because no one is gonna fight for us. we are gonna get bent over and done over and over and we gonna let them do it and like it. I'm sorry for telling you the truth. I feel sorry for those who thought all was gonna be quick and easy money. Thats the price we pay. MVB bank gets FDIC affiliation after this and CK gets our money to invest for as long as they can hold our money. That's why it takes one month for the card to get to you and that's why all the normal atm etc who used to provide cardless service shut down all their service. they will not accept the atm fees so their partners can make money off of poor people like you and me. I was expecting to pay that price when I used their services. You was not? Ha Ha Ha! That's why the poor will always be poor. We are like addicts and will do just about and believe just about anything to get that dollar. I know I am. Wake up! Be accountable for our actions and next time just expect what we got coming. Like the rich folks tell us. If it sounds too good to be true then obviously that's what it is. Free money? How does that sound? Now you're getting a little tee bit smarter. But Thanks to MVB bank and CreditKarma (Intuit) I needed that quick fix and I'm happy to pay for the services. Just didn't like Turbo Tax. I will never use that retarded

Credit Karma DO NOT USE FOR SERIOUS TRANSACTIONS!

If you want to use this to pay bills, please plan waaaaay ahead of time, it’s going to take a week to clear my funds on Credit Karma’s end, not on my bank’s end.

I transferred my rent money into my Credit Karma Money Spend account so that way I can try out different alternatives to pay my rent by going with Credit Karma’s products and services. Before, I would typically transfer $100 or less and the money would clear the next day. But yesterday I transferred my rent money so that I can use Credit Karma’s Money Spend debit card. I made a fatal mistake. The money cleared with my Chase bank account but not with Credit Karma.

I called customer support and there’s absolutely no way to get this pushed faster. I got the customer service agent to admit that Credit Karma is just a middle man company and not a bank.

My money is just sitting there in their system. My customer service representative also admitted that not even her boss and their bosses’ boss or the owners/executives of Credit Karma can do anything about it.

A warning to those that want to use this for serious transactions….don’t. Stick to your banking methods instead of this horrific system. They’re a credit report viewing company, not a bank, but a company pretending to be a bank so that they can one day get their banking privileges in the future. So far, they’re sucking at it big time.

Also, to developers, it’s not your fault, it’s your clients fault as their policies are horrendous policies. Now I see why Credit Karma attempts to incentivize people to use their fake banking products with free money back (they spot your transactions) in order to get people to use it more.

Sorry Credit Karma, you have lost another customer for life. My gut feeling also told me not to go use your services. But please continue to pay for other people’s transactions with your lame promotions, when you can be using your own capital to prioritize to find ways to make your products and services more higher qualitative, accessible, and easier to use instead of baiting people to use your faulty products. Yuck.

Credit Karma Love Credit Karma!

I’ve been using Credit Karma (CK) for at least 7-8 years now. I’ve also been using other credit apps. And, in my opinion, CK is hands down the best credit app/site out there. When I started, my TransUnion score was 533. Now, I’m at a 825…UNBELIEVABLE, right! Before CK, I didn’t realize the importance of good credit. I had no idea what my credit score was, nor did I know what was on my credit report. CK provides credit education. CK also provides a daily TransUnion credit score and credit report. It also provides a weekly Equifax credit score and credit report. The CK app is user friendly. CK allows me to monitor all my account balances, my account payment histories, my credit card utilization, my hard inquiries, etc. Each creditor listed on my Credit Karma account contains the contact information (i.e.; address & phone number). This contact information allows me to easily contact creditors if needed. I’m able to, and have successfully disputed incorrect information directly from my Credit Karma account. Credit Karma has a whole bunch of other features too. You can search the CK site for lost unclaimed money. I even think there’s an income tax preparation option on the site. I was approved for my AMEX and Discover credit cards through the CK app. I can go on and on about the pros of Credit Karma because there are so many pros. However, I have two cons…1) Credit Karma only reports from two of the major credit bureaus (TransUnion & Equifax). It would be GREAT if Experian were included…this is truly my biggest pet peeve about CK. 2) it would be nice if CK used actual FICO scores, but because most credit card companies provide FICO scores, having FICO scores from CK is not a deal breaker for me. In actually, I have 6 different credit cards and all of them provide a different FICO score version from a different credit bureau. So, even if CK did used FICO scores, there’s no way of knowing which FICO version a creditor will use. I truly believe the information provided by CK is invaluable, AND IT’S FREE! If you’re not looking for actual FICO scores, Get CK! You won’t be sorry!

Credit Karma What Happened?!?!?

Update:
So, I changed my review to four stars. Although I am still frustrated by the app not being native, I will say that Credit Karma as a whole has been awesome! The new site is great! And I took a chance at one of the Credit Card Balance Transfer Offers, because CK said I had a very good chance at being approved, and I WAS approved! Anyway, I hope the debs at CK take into account my original rant, but overall, it's a great service!

Well, I used to love the Credit Karma app! I actually recommended it to several people because it really gave me insight to my current credit status and score. I was originally shocked to see a different (and lower) score suddenly, but after reading about the Vantage Score, I guess I understand the change. It was just a little frustrating to think my score was a lot better than it apparently is? The only good thing is having data from two credit bureaus now.

The rest of the redesign is really really bad. Everything is just a link to an internal browser that takes you to the full site. I really don't like that at all. I much prefer the native feel and design of the last version. It felt more like an app! If I wanted to use the site, then I would just log on to a computer.

Also, I can't scroll through the offers on credit cards without every touch triggering a link to the browser and full site again. When I go back, I start at the beginning on the first page.

In the end, I have never written a poor review before, but I'm wondering if there was any real thought put into these changes in design? Were there any studies conducted on user preferences or usability in general? I also feel that it wasn't tested very well. I am a software developer, and I am shocked that this was what was chosen for a complete redesign.

Don't get me wrong, I think change is great, and necessary, but these changes were several steps in the wrong direction! I strongly suggest taking user requests and preferences into account when working on your future changes. Unfortunately, I may be forced to delete the app and just use the full website from now on. After all, that's basically all the app is now.

Credit Karma Most useful free credit app

I’ve been using Credit Karma for almost five years. There are other choices obviously. However CK is the only free credit app I’ve found that displays both Transunion and Equifax reports. Most free credit apps typically only show the Transunion report. I’ve yet to find a free credit app that shows the Experian report. That being said signing up for an Experian Creditworks Basic account is free and gets the user a free copy of their Experian report once every 30 days. Creditworks Basic also allows items on the Experian report to be disputed directly. Signing up for a Transunion TrueIdentity account allows disputing report items directly with Transunion rather than relying on CK’s Direct Dispute channel with Transunion. To dispute items on Equifax reports one needs to sign up for a free MyEquifax account. Between the Experian Creditworks basic once every 30 days report updates and CK’s once per week updates on Transunion and Equifax you can keep an eye on your credit picture without spending any money. Be aware CK uses the Vantage 3.0 scoring model which is not widely adopted by the majority of the lending industry. Experian scores your report with a FICO 8 number, rather than Vantage 3.0, which while more useful is also not widely considered by most lenders either. To find all your FICO scores you will have to bite the bullet and spend ~$60 USD on MyFICO dot com to get all three credit reports and all FICO scores calculated against all three reports. Older FICO scoring models like 3, 4, 5 or 6 (as examples) are used by specific credit industries for lines of credit such as home mortgages, auto loans or unsecured revolving credit cards. There is no law that requires any given lending industry to use a specific scoring model. Consider your FICO8 and Vantage 3.0 scores as rough estimates of where you stand and as long as these scores trend up or stay steady nothing bad has happened. If something bad does happen to cause your scores to trend down that’s when TU TrueIdentity, Equifax MyEquifax and Experian Creditworks Basic become very useful to have already setup. Best of luck to everyone playing this credit worthiness game.

Credit Karma Two years with the app, and no issues yet

An extremely user-friendly app which will help teach even the most clueless of us (like myself) about the basics of good credit health and utilization. If you have bad credit, like I did just three years ago, don’t be afraid to know your number. Just download the app, give them your info, and let them give you advice. The app uses lots of positive reinforcement, acting more like a cheerleader pushing you towards working hard, than a firm teacher yelling at you for mistakes.
That being said, the app and their advice is not a magic wand that will fix all of your credit woes. Pay attention to what they are telling you. Look at your credit health graphs. Do your own research on what constitutes good credit and how to build it and maintain it (YouTube has lots of videos on that). If you do all of this (and it’s not that hard- even a dumba*** like me could understand), then you’ll be on your track to better credit.
Word to the wise: if you previously had bad credit and can spare $200+ for a secured credit card, DO IT. If you get offered the Discover It secured credit card like I was - ABSOLUTELY APPLY. That is what helped me the most.
Those were the pros. Now on to the cons-
The app will often give you recommendations for new credit cards and loan providers as your credit health increases. Don’t just jump at the first offer they show you. Read user reviews. Look up the credit/loan providers and do research on them. The app just recommends stuff based on an algorithm that responds to your personal stats. The places they recommend aren’t always the best. Get the advice of your peers before you pull the trigger.
Also, the app will give you “odds” of being approved based on your score. These odds are not a sure thing. You may apply, be rejected, and lose a couple of points on your credit because it counts as a “hard inquiry.” If you are going to apply, make sure your score can stand losing three points per inquiry. If it can’t, continue to make your existing payments on time, and wait until it can take that hit.
At the end of the day, your credit health is entirely your responsibility, but that being said, Credit Karma is an indispensable and easy assistant on the road to good credit health.

Credit Karma Horrible customer service. Do NOT USE TAX SERVICE

first off let me say. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER TO CALL THEM. if you have an issue with ANYTHING.. you will be prompted to email them through a site.. and YOU WILL BE FORGOTTEN ABOUT.

I signed up for credit karma like anyone else, to monitor my credit. After a few months found out they do tax service. Tried it. Not to shabby.

Further down the road.. i change phones and numbers.. and realize at some
Point i need a copy of my TAXES which i filed with credit karma.. upon logging in i go to tax documents and im told i need to change my number but wont let because i need my old number.. i get sent a prompt to verify my id with my drivers license.. multiple attempts and it still doesnt accept my ID.. then im prompted to email them BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER.

I look up this obviously convoluted situation and come to find out EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD A CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUE NEVER GETS ANY HELP. It always fails on ID scan. FOR EVERYONE! Everyone is then prompted to email them. And then they forget about you. You get a few robo emails with no solution and they hope you just forget about it in frustration and just go away

ITS GOING ON DAYS NOW AND I HAVE STILL YET TO GET MY OWN TAX DOCUMENTS FROM THEM.. AND NOT ONE EMAIL AT ALL WITH A SOLUTION FROM THEIR “CUSTOMER SERVICE” DEPARTMENT..

Stay away from these shady people

Edit for response:

Why should i have to publicly display my case number FOR YOU to do your job.. in REVIEW FORMAT SETTING.? So i can help you get an “atta-boy” with the obvious “hey look at me i helped” facade this reeks of? No thanks. Why don’t you acknowledge the FACT you have no inclination to help ANYONE. GO FIND MY EMAIL I SENT YOU AND DO YOUR JOB.. IM NOT DOING IT FOR YOU.. Why don’t you respond via the original route in which you INTENDED ME TO? WHY DONT YOUR MEASURES FOR SECURITY EVER WORK? ITS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT.. ID SCAN NEVER WORKS AT ALL FOR ANYONE. why do I have to do YOUR WORK FOR YOU? And guess what!?!? Checked my actual email and STILL NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM ANYONE FROM YOUR COMPANY. you guys are absolute garbage. Do your job. Fix your app and stop selling everyone down the river like you are helping them.. absolute trash.

Credit Karma Love how easy credit karma is to use and keep track of my finances

Before using credit karma I had minimal knowledge about my credit and finances, I just got by doing what I needed. I would pay my bills, sometimes late but didn’t REALLY understand the affects it had on my credit. Since using credit karma, it makes keeping track of my finances so much easier! Doing my finances with the credit karma app has made my life so much easier because everything is in ONE place! I have had numerous occasions where I had a list of things I needed to do financially but bouncing back from one account to the next, it’s easy to skip a step and not finish everything because I forget to go back; not anymore! I no longer find myself lost at what step I was at, bouncing back and forth from one open web page to the next window, logging on but hitting a wall when the password isn’t right it’s incredibly frustrating and a waste of time trying to keep track of each account the way I was, and failing Credit karma doesn’t just save me time or the frustration, but it keeps me in the KNOW. I am always current, thanks to the notifications I receive. I always know my current standings for my accounts, balances, activity, any changes; rise or fall of my credit score. Even a reminder for an upcoming payment, which helps continue the streak of on-time Payments. Another perk is having the option for trustworthy credit companies with great offers and low APR fee’s if I needed something like that, loans ect. My score was mid/high 400’s and is now mid 700! I’m proud of myself for getting where I am today but needed that extra push/guidance I have received using credit karma. I would highly recommend getting the app and taking control of your finances. It feels great.
Saving the best for last, SECURITY/identity theft prevention! This day and age with so many possibilities in technology is over my head. I’m about average, slightly foreign when it comes to understanding IT but rest assured, Credit karma notifies me when there was a breach revealing my personal information. My social security # had been exposed. 5683
5683
I was immediately notified of the unfortunate event and guided by Credit karma of what I need to do to ensure I wasn’t taken advantage of by the criminal who had access to my private information.

Credit Karma Not so accurate - misleading

I never write reviews but this time I must warn people. This review will be a mixed with positive and negative comments but is written with absolute facts.

1) Positive- Credit Karma was a great tool for me to get approved for 2 credit cards. One card with a $10,000 credit line and another with a $1,000 credit line. I was lucky because my wife applied for the exact same cards (she had the same approval odds) but she was disapproved. What's even more crazy is her credit scores are 20 points higher than mine. Go figure - makes me wonder?

2) Positive - this really helped out because I filed bankruptcy 2 years ago and this will help me get my credit back on track. Also, I may not have taken that leap to get credit cards had Credit Karma not recommended them. Very nice (if you get approved)

3) Negative - Onto the really bad. The scores Credit Karma gives you ARE NOT ACCURATE. Friends, please listen to what I am saying and don't be so subjective that you immediately discount the review. I understand there are a lot of other overwhelming positive reviews but my eyes were opened today. I was one of those positive guys.

I believed for over the past year their scores were dog gone accurate and loved this app that I had other people download it. Sadly, I have been let down and only to find out over the past 2 days I was being fed false information.

Credit Karma told me that my scores were 698 and 688 respectively but when I applied for a credit union loan and subsequently went to a car dealership for a new car, they pulled my "real" credit scores, which were 654 and 657 respectively.

I argued with the credit union and car dealership about my score (thinking Credit Karma can't be that far off) but they stood by their credit pulls and I went home and pulled all 3 annual credit reports and BAM - they were accurate and Credit Karma is 30 points off. In the world of credit - that is a ginormous gap.

Friends - I learned the hard way today that Credit Karma is a nice app but your scores are inaccurate and misleading. If you don't believe me and are still subjective, google search "are Credit Karma scores accurate" and you will read the horror stories out there about how people like me were relying on Credit Karma as a reliable source.

Use caution

Credit Karma Some nice features and some major problems

I *reallywanted to like Credit Karma. I closed a few other bank accounts I had and made it my main bank/checking account. I like the credit score monitoring and a few other unusual features. I don't like all the credit card offers/recommendations in my face. I just ignore them, but I can't imagine encouraging people to get more credit cards is healthy, because most people (in the USA) don't handle credit responsibly. Anyway, generally a nice app/service.

HOWEVER, because of two significant issues and how those issues have (not) been handled, I'm afraid I'm going to have to dump CK, which is of course a big hassle. Issue #1 is CK's inability to take remote check deposits (by using photos). It seems like most banks out there do, ESPECIALLY online banks. I mean, come on. They've been talking about doing it for years, since before I was a customer, and still nothing. It's as if taking remote checks is some novel, cutting-edge service they had to build out of toothpicks. Even my rickity old, behind the times, brick and morter Credit Union that I came from takes remote checks. Even my little Sole Proprietorship was taking checks sent by telephone, fax, or Internet in 1994! Surely you can figure this out, CK. It won't matter to me, because this is so ridiculous you've lost my confidence, but please.

Issue #2 is that they have locked my debit card unnecessarily at least twice, and this last time it been such a hassle to get it unlocked that it has remained that way for many, many months. Because of this I've had to painstakingly remove it from all my billing and shopping accounts, where it was previously the dominant card I used. I still have no idea WHY it was locked. Believe it or not, neither does Credit Karma. I've done messages, live chats, and calls to support, none of which were productive. I did learn one thing on the last phone call I made, which was that they CAN'T unlock my card, don't even know why it was locked, and pointed me at a VISA support number that seems to be fresh out of humans. I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to sit on hold more than about 15 minutes, wasting my time to solve a problem the company I'm calling created.

Well, that's a lot more than I intended to write, but I hope it helps some out there to avoid the disappointing hassle Credit Karma has been for me.

Credit Karma No Joke

I started using CK a few years ago, initially out of curiosity. I'd just gotten a divorce and he let everything go. The first few years my credit scores were in the 300's. It was embarrassing. I used the information on CK to pay off past few bills I wasn't even aware of, over $4000 worth. It was daunting but I was determined and had help from CK. A couple I disputed, through the CK app, and got them taken off (they were my ex-husbands) and one was a doctor bill I was able to get run through insurance again and get paid. I set up payment plans for the rest. All through the CK app. I wouldn't have even been aware of the past due bills if it weren't for the CK app.
I eventually got a $200 secured credit card early last year (2020) at the advice, and choosing of, CK. I'd used it for months when a dear friend died. I needed funeral clothes. So, in the middle of a pandemic, and me having just had a bone marrow transplant, my mother & I went to Macy's. The cashier talked me into applying for their card although I was prepared to use the secured credit card I'd gotten through CK. I went ahead and did it knowing I'd never been approved before and wouldn't get approved this time. Low-and-behold I did get approved. I checked my scores on CK and it had gone up from 323 & 318 to 478 & 492, just off the $200 card I got through the CK app.
A month later I bought my first brand new vehicle but my mother had to co-sign, I just didn't have a long enough positive credit history.
By January , my scores were even higher. CK advised a new card so I took their advise and got the 3rd card they recommended. It was an AmEx. Never in a million years would I believe I could have an AmEx but I was approved with a $1000 credit limit and no down payment. My mind was, and still is, blown.
It's mid-April and my credit scores are 715 & 723, and I'm comfortable with that. I started a year ago with credit scores 400 points lower. My advise is to use the information provided by the app as a tool. Take their advise. Pay things off. Dispute things if necessary. Use it to get yourself in a place where, if/when disaster hits and you need, you could get a substantial, bulky loan. I wouldn't have been able to get my scores up 400 points without the suggestions, advise, and help of CreditKarma. Use it. Use the help they provide... They are, after all, the credit experts.

Credit Karma Meh

Credit Karma has some positive aspects and some very negative ones. It’s convenient (and as it should be) to always have ready access to one’s own credit scores. And the *ideaof the recommended credit cards is good, if not the execution. CK’s top recommended credit card for me is one I have had for years now and there’s no way for me to tell it that so that it will update my recommendations accordingly, making them appropriate to one who has my exact credit profile *includingthat particular card.

The worst thing about Credit Karma though, is that you cannot trust their recommendations, because they’re essentially just paid promotions for the cards and services in question. Credit Karma continually hawks CreditOne credit cards, for example, and NOBODY who knows anything about CreditOne and cares the least little bit for you wil EVER recommend that you get a credit card from CreditOne. They are well-known to be an abhorrent, unscrupulous company with inexcusable business practices, deliberately delaying the posting of payments to accounts by a week or more so as to be able to charge the customer late fees, making account closure as difficult as they possibly can, including *notclosing the account at all after telling you they have...they’re just a nightmare - and not out of incompetence, which would be a *littlemore excusable, but by design: that’s their intention! That’s their business model! - and Credit Karma has no compunction about leading its users straight into that lion’s den. Maybe CK is as confused as most other people are by the fact that *CapitalOne, which is an excellent, reputable company, did for some unimaginable reason design their logo to look exactly like CreditOne’s, begetting massive confusion throughout the industry...but I doubt it. I think CreditOne is just paying Credit Karma the big bucks to promote their products, and so they do. Which in turn renders CK untrustworthy. They’re not showing you the credit options that are best for you; they’re showing you the options they’ve been paid to show you, which - as in the case of CreditOne - may well be a costly, disreputable nightmare just lying in wait for you.

If you do your own research independent of Credit Karma and discover for yourself which cards might be best for you (and which ones definitely will *not*), you should be safe from such massive pitfalls...but if you have to do that, what’s the point of Credit Karma?

Credit Karma Update has issues

Credit karma... What can be said about Credit Karma. She used to be so beautiful, useful, and good to us. Then one day, she woke up and did a 180.

The good- 2 credit reporting agencies now! That's amazing! It's good to see your credit report from multiple agencies, because it helps you catch discrepancies. The reviewers on here complaining about a 'sudden drop in score' may want to consider that different agencies place emphasis on different aspects of your credit history. They can routinely vary 50 points easily.

The bad- this mini web browser within the app is almost the worst idea I have ever seen! Do your developers not realize that people use the mobile app so they don't have to use their phone's browser and look at tiny writing? It's the most atrocious error in judgement I have seen in an app update since Facebook separated the messenger from the main app. Don't even get me started on that one. I still haven't downloaded that messenger, and I won't. I rarely even use the Facebook app now. And that brings up a valid point; you may lose customers over this update blunder. Please revert back to the user friendly interface u had before with the swiping between "accounts", "score history", etc. You can easily add tabs for your recommended credit cards and separate the 2 credit reporting agencies. There was a better way to do it, I'm just sayin.

The ugly- this kind of goes back to what I was just saying about usability. The app is just cluttered, ugly, and almost unusable. You can't read information without zooming in, it takes forever to load ("Getting updated information, downloading your score"... Come on. We're not stupid. You're loading webpages on your app because you're too lazy to revamp the app the right way.)

With all this being said, you still get 3 stars for 2 reasons. A) Your app was great once, and I have faith that it will be again. You strike me as the type of company to listen to your customers and make adjustments when you're wrong. B) This is such a valuable tool! I don't think people take their credit worthiness very seriously now days, but as someone who works in finance and has had a rough financial past, I can tell you that this site is providing an incredible service... And it's free! You can not beat it.

I rarely do reviews on apps, but I felt it was important to do so on the off chance that someone from Credit Karma would see that their customers care enough about their service to let them know what their doing right and what they're goofing up.

Credit Karma Mostly awesome app. But

One thing needs fixing.

One of its suggestion are consumer loans to pay off credit cards, but this is broken in many ways

Worst thing, if you leave the app for ANY reason even to read a message or to lookup info that the very loan form is asking for, it completely puts you back at the start of everything when you return to back to CK, I mean way back to choosing between a balance transfer card, are you employed, how much of a loan, etc etc. Some screens might retain some answers as defaults, but you still have timo reread all the steps

And when you return to the app, some offers are suddenly gone, you have fewer option. I suspect the previous half-filled-in forms have taken those slots. You can’t get back to back to them to complete them.

Some of this might be related to the constant Re-auth with FaceID even if you were just for a second.

Sessions and Re-entry should be maintained for some number of mins. I suspect some security folks might not like having the persist for even a second! - in case somebody snatched your phone But other secure financial apps live with this, you get maybe 30 seconds as long as you’re still actively using the phone

Overall I REALLY like this app, and since the app is free (!NO! Card req to use it!) I’m happy to see them make a fair margin on the vetted offers. But they are LOSING SO MANY REVENUE transactions due to the VERY BUGGY application process

One example, I was deep into a very good loan application. I popped over to Google maps just to quickly check the zip code of my employer - 5 to 10 seconds to find that, nearing the end of the process. IMMEDIATELY switched to the CK app, my application was gone, way back to square one (Cc bal xfer or personal loan step, way at the very start! WORSE, I could no longer get to that attractive offer, I had to pick a different vendor, slightly inferior deal. And they had different questions than the other application. And so then, when there was another thing I had to hunt down on my phone, BOOM - gone. I feel bad for CK, losing money on stuff like this! Also there were 2 different ways to get to “loans”, don’t recall details, but the looked and acted differently. Also the general error checking and flagging loan form screens needs cleanup/tweaking.

I took the time to write this up, but maybe y other end users wouldn’t bother. Not bragging, it’s statistics, I suspect NANY Users simply abandon the proceeds and just don’t complain - that’s the norm! So I suspect MANY abandoned loans applications, and many commissions for CK sadly lost. Hope this description helps with resolving - I still wanna pay off a CC at a low fixed rate, so maybe I’ll try again in a few months.

CREDIT KARMA: YOU ARE ROUTINELY LOSING LOAN REFERRAL FEE REVENUE - and it could be FIXES! Again, love the app otherwise.

Credit Karma Okay, but…

Credit Karma is okay, but their whole “Credit scores/reports updated daily” (paraphrased) thing is misleading and the information they have is not always correct. For instance: CK shows a collection account on my Equifax report. An Equifax report does not. Also, TransUnion scores are NOT updated daily, but weekly. Again, this is comparing a CK score/report to a TransUnion report. Equifax’s information appears to be updated daily, however. Also, like most free credit scores, CK uses a VantageScore 3.0. I would highly encourage users to not base their credit decisions on this model, as it is not an accurate representation of what your scores that matter are (i.e. Fico 8 & 9, Fico Auto 2, 8, & 9, Fico Score 2 for Mortgages, Fico Bankcard Scores 2, 3, 8, & 9, etc.). Reputable lenders do not use the VantageScore model. Bottom Line: Credit Karma is okay for general tracking of your credit on a month-to-month basis, but if you are about to begin inquiring about any serious credit based on the information contained in CK, don’t. Go directly to the credit bureaus (Experian is my personal favorite because they tend to be the most accurate, I have found that their information is used to make credit decisions more often than the others’ are, and you have the ability to get ALL of your scores from ALL 3 bureaus) and pay to get your various FICO scores.

Update: Credit Karma responded, saying, “While our scores come directly from TransUnion and Equifax, it is totally normal for you to find different scores elsewhere. As crazy as it sounds, they are all your real credit score! Our article about credit score variance digs deeper into this…”

1. Don’t insult my intelligence and don’t give me a non-response response just for the sake of having a response to boost your company’s reputation. I am quite aware of the variance of credit scoring models, as I pretty clearly stated in my initial review. Why else would I list off 10 different scoring models that serious lenders use?
2. This doesn’t change the fact that people should not be using a VantageScore (be it 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0) as a basis for deciding to apply for serious credit. Very few lenders use a VantageScore model period and no serious lenders (i.e. auto lenders, mortgage lenders, and most credit card issuers) use it at all.
3. And none of this changes the fact that information you have published in reports is not always accurate, despite it being correct from the credit bureaus.

In conclusion, again, Credit Karma is okay for general tracking of your credit on a month-to-month basis, but if you are about to begin inquiring about any serious credit based on the information contained in CK, don’t. Go directly to the credit bureaus. I realize that CK needs to defend and promote the model they use, but they should be honest with their consumers about its usefulness and limitations, as a large percentage of the population has no idea what scoring variations there are and which ones are most useful and accurate in the eyes of lenders. I have studied credit and scoring models as a serious hobby for more than a decade and want people to know the truth and how they should go about deciding on loans and managing their credit. Not trying to down Credit Karma. Just an honest review.

Credit Karma All you need

This snapshot view of your Vantage Score gives you the exact number that most lenders and creditors are using in running their calculations to approve/unapproved lines of credit. It's easy to sign up for, it's quick and its free. We've all faced a crunch in our financial household over the past 4 years and we are learning more about our personal credit scores than ever before because of it. I monitor my score daily through Credit Karma and Equifax because I have found so many errors that have been disputed and it has given me a true, clean view of where I stand. In fact, I have disputed over 35 items that I found to be reported incorrectly, personal information not up to date, old items that should no longer be on my report causing my score to drop, incorrect reporting by a lender on "Personal Info missing" that was hurting my score, actual vs limit dollar amounts by creditor/lender, negative information that should have been removed due to the time that it is reported on your report and inquiries that were not approved by myself by lenders. Overall, I increased my credit by over 100 points which is crucial and scary because its irresponsible reporting by our creditors/lenders. They expect us to pay them in full and on time and I expect them to report in full, correctly and in a timely manner so that my credit score does not cause me problems in life such as the ability to get a job. We need to push our political constituents to mandate these creditors/ lenders to report correctly and timely but due to the economic impact that we have all felt, it's time to reevaluate how credit score information is collected, reported and its aging over time. If you miss one payment, it will raise a red flag causing your interest rates to possibly go up. This missing payment stays on your report for 7 years. Based on what we have all been through, the credit and lending problems are tighter because we all have one if these negative marks on our report. Needless to say, our next President will not be able to help us in opening up our ability to borrow because we have 7 more years before we can borrow at a fair and better rate because of the aging of the negative information on our reports. There are so many of us who have one or two of these negative marks on our credit and we were not to blame for our economic and financial struggles we face now. The government is to blame by not imposing oversight committees to watch the big banks and their lending guidelines. It's time for us, the people, to take more control of our voice in politics and make our political constituents hear our problems, address them and fight for us rather than worrying about their pension plans (which we also pay), their annual increase in salary (which we are also paying for when we can't get one ourselves) and just be the men and women that they were voted into office to be - "Our Voice". Until we as individuals take a stance and speak out, nothing is going to change and we will continue to lose our social security, pensions, 401K's and our Credit Worthiness to live a comfortable life without the long term residual effects of this recent economic crisis. If you don't speak up, then shut up and don't complain. You have no right to ride my coattail as I speak up for myself. "Speak Up or Shut Up" is going to be the mission statement by "We the People" in uniting to fight to regain our equality in fighting for our financial future and our kids financial future. If you'd like to join me, jump on board and let's get back involved.

Credit Karma Report breakdown is laughable

When going through the report to see what changes have been done during a timespan and the points gained and taken away from your score, it doesn’t give full details on WHAT and HOW this was done. Had a 745 score and somehow in a month it dropped by 66 points but my report shows NO DEROGATORY REMARKS and has a “looks great” remark about it from the app…psssh yea right. The usual breakdown shows on average I gain/drop about 1-3 points. But miraculously I get a 66 point drop from the last month 1point drop…and there’s NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING TO SHOW HOW IT HAPPENED. And of course like any other person, to find this information out the automated chat person only gives you the basic information of what any logical person has already seen on their own report and when requesting to see about person to person customer service of course you get some sad little spiel from it’s AI not being “as good” (which when someone is trying to get information about something that little response is a tad bit annoying and irrelevant) instead of just giving a link. Going full roundabout on the app and finding ZERO new and ACTUAL ANSWERS, you’re better off just requesting to get the information from the bureau…which I noticed in this latest update (and the previous ones before) this ability to request it has somehow disappeared or isn’t being thrown out in the chat with the AI…which you know would be helpful. Also don’t really like the “average credit age”…why not just use the ACTUAL information?

Updated review: If responder actually read my initial review, they would have noticed that I NEVER said that credit karma CREATED anything or DID anything to my credit score itself…i NEVER blamed CK for anything other than they don’t SHOW the MISSING INFO that I was looking for in regards to what happened. THUS I said it’s better to just go to the source (which I noticed isn’t on the latest updates for this app…I believe about 5+ years ago they had a function to link you to be able to request an extensive review of your report through someone else). Moving on, the changes happened Jan 5 I believe…it’s end of FEB (a whole month after CK does their pulling regular information from the bureau) and like I there was no additional information to show why this drop occurred …thus another reason i said I was better off going to the source. BECAUSE I saw CK STILL didn’t have the information I wanted and instead of waiting I’ll be going to the head of the situation. I’m fully aware of how you guys get your information…it’s not rocket science, you’re just a convenient third party. So the breakdown of HOW you guys get your info was unnecessary in response. However your info on what is available is still not a very good explanation when on minor fluctuations to the score especially for those who want direct meat and potato answers….thus another reason I said your little AI is STILL annoying and talks too much when you’re trying to get specific answers….there should be a function to at least decide if your AI is “friendly” or just blunt with it (just a mild suggestion for those of us who don’t care for the “nice guy AI” approach). I understand you probably had to give a response…but that definitely wasn’t in any way beneficial to me, more so for you and whatever person who reads this and doesn’t know the process of your “info gathering”.

Updated review again after developers continue to not read and comprehend the review and still write a hilariously useless response. In case you guys read this again: NO WHERE DID I SAY YOU DID ANYTHING TO MY REPORT! I SAID: your information was insufficient. Comprehension is free.

Credit Karma YOU NEED THIS APP ! TEN STARS !

Credit Karma is fantastic ! I’ve been using it for years and YOU NEED THIS APP. Touch ID works great on iPhone for log in. Very reliable and never crashes. It shows what’s going on with very frequent credit updates AND IT TEACHES YOU HOW TO INCREASE YOU SCORE and how all the mysteries of the credit scores actually work in real life. Examples: I don’t like my oldest credit card. BUT, if I close that account my Average length of credit drops a lot and my credit scores drop a lot also. Even worse, if I cancel that old card and get a new card , my average credit length drops AND I have another Hard Inquiry also that would show for the next 2 years. AND if the new card had a Lower available limit, my overall credit Usage Percentage would Increase and drop my credit score even further ! Who would even know these things without Credit Karma ? ! One mistake affects your score for YEARS.
Credit Karma TEACHES YOU what factors cause changes in your scores. My scores are over 800 now since using Credit Karma for the past 2 years or so.
It’s also helpful to find identity theft ... say an ex-spouse applies for a credit card in your name. You’d see an Unexplained Hard Inquiry and address that isn’t yours and know Immediately that your identity was stolen ! AND a NEW Credit Card you didn’t apply for ! Even if the thief didn’t get an account, the new Hard Inquiry would Alert You almost Immediately that something bad was going on.
Most negative reviews Incorrectly blame Credit Karma for the insane credit bureaus systems. It’s NOT Credit Karma’s fault the systems are so rediculous in many ways. Credit Karma just Reports the info. They do Not create the systems used.
Also, the credit card ads keep the service FREE. There aren’t many anyhow. Before complaining, remember it’s A FREE SERVICE. GREAT DEAL ! FREE !
AND I found my 2 favorite cards on the Credit Karma ads ! I wouldn’t have found them otherwise ! I found my Bank of America Cash Rewards card and Chase Freedom Unlimited card on Credit Karma and both cards are unbelievable ! I’ve gotten LITERALLY MANY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS in cash back just paying bills with cash back cards ! AND ITS TAX FREE CASH BACK PER IRS REGULATIONS because it’s technically a Discount off of purchases and Not Taxable Income ! Same thing as using a coupon at a store.
I could go on forever but enough said. FANTASTIC FREE SERVICE that will inform and educate you and , as in my case , could end up putting a lot of tax exempt money in your pocket too !
Use this incredible Free service and you’ll love it. Those who complain should feel “free” to try and find a better FREE SERVICE. There aren’t any ! Oh, ALSO... most credit cards these days will show you your FICA SCORE, so don’t blame Credit Karma for that either. I’ve really learned to be a credit expert thanks to this fantastic app and service. GET IT ! And check it Every Week to be sure no one is using your identity ! A surprising Hard Inquiry would alert you Immediately for example, and I believe Credit Karma would also email you too ! Plus you can check your scores 10 times per day and still Never get a Hard Inquiry for using their Free Service. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE AND A LOT TO GAIN.
Very Satisfied user for over Two Years !
ONLY COMPLAINT IS TO MANY UPDATES AND NEW THINGS I DONT WANT.
I CAN CHECK MY SCORES EASILY ON CREDIT CARD APPS ANYHOW AND DO NOT WANT ALL THE EXTRA STUFF THAT YOU KEEP ADDING. I DO LIKE THE CREDIT CARD OFFERS AND HAVE FOUND A COUPLE OF MY FAVORITE CREDIT CARDS ON CREDIT KARMA THOUGH... and UNDERSTAND IT HELPS KEEP IT FREE.
UPDATES ARE GETTING ANNOYING AND TOO MANY YHINGS ADDED THAT I REALLY AM NOT INTERESTED IN. OVERALL... STILL A GREAT APP AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. MAYBE JUST LIGHTEN UP ON UPDATES AND EXTRAS. CK IS AWESOME ! GET IT !

Credit Karma Comment on “Great App”

Your review about Credit Carma, & your Credit gave me GREAT HOPE.
Thank you for sharing with such honesty.
A friend turned me on to Credit Carma about 6+ years ago and although the score I saw was far from what I had expected I then knew there are ways to turn that low score :( up to a Number that we all need to really get what we need, & want.
We all have a name ( John Smith, Jane Doe etc.) along with our names we have a Social Security Number. That number is who you are to the Government, IRS,and everything important. No matter how pretty or handsome your name may be, no matter your personality how good you are. Making sure everything you do is good, kind, perfect, even if you have Millions of dollars in the bank.
Still you are that Social Security Number that will lead you to your Credit Score.
That score means EVERYTHING.
Let’s say you have 9 million dollars in the bank, a Beautiful very expensive home with high mortgage payments, insurance both on your car & Home & you have been up to date on time never late or missed a payment. You could assume you credit score would be high

But you applied for a car loan over the Internet, or u shopped at kohls & put in your S.S # to get 20% off your total shopping order... BAM Hard Hit on your credit Score. Or like me a divorce put me in the hole of quick sand feeling I will never crawl out & up. For a long time I would apply for Credit or a small credit loan for a car. At that time my credit was close to a 6 so clearly I thought I would be approved. HA nope I was denied due to all the times I applied for something it would lower my credit score.
About 2 months ago I checked my Credit Score on Credit Carma & it was high I the 6‼️
I was so excited because I planned on financing a car after the Holiday’s. Well for about 1+ years I had pre pay with T-Mobile & never missed a payment nor was I ever late.keep this next sentence in min. (My Mother really wanted a cell phone) oh I have 3 siblings who didn’t care what she wished for last Christmas & of course being much smart than I they got her something other than what she truly wanted.
Ok so I was going through my mail & opened a letter from T-Mobile Thanking me for being a great customer & now I was a VIP‼️
They offered me 2 lines all in for $100.00 a month plus an IPhone 7‼️ Athe time I was using my paid off 6plus. Immediately I decided to give the 6plus to my Mom & I would upgrade to the 7plus. The whole transaction took over 3 hours. I had the manager of the store helping us who neglected to tell me I had to make $36. Per month payments on the 7 plus that would be automatically withdrawn from my bank acct between the 16 to the 21 of each month.
I am a disabled woman living on $745. A month with that said there isn’t any money in my account during that time.
I opened the T-Mobile Acct. in March & all my monthly payment were in full on time. Never was I contacted in any way to bring to my attention the $36. Payments 7 of them for the IPhone. The beginning of Oct 2017 I called in & made my $100 monthly payment which changed to $110 because I was calling the payments in. Again nobody notified me if I gave them permission to auto withdraw I could have save $10.‼️2 day’s later my Mother & My acct. had been suspended for GET THIS ( NON PAYMENT‼️)
I was so surprised & angry I said a shirt orayer asking God to help me be kind, calm & understanding. I just made my payment how could I be suspended for non payment❓
The auto teller said it look like your acct. has been suspended due to non payment the total amount due is $700+. Would you like to make the payment now❓
Bottom line it took many phone calls speaking & listening to many acct supervisor’s to understand how I could owe so much money❓ Finally I got a Supervisor whom I was able to understand making me aware I was behind 8 payments for the IPhone 7.
He was giving me a payment plan & asked if he could put me on a shirt hold❓I said yes & as I was waiting the call dropped‼️I had been on my phone with T-Mobile over 2 hours & for one reason whenever I am on the phone for that length of time the call drops.
Of course he did it call me back nor did he leave notes. Therefore every time I call hoping to get a CSAgent that can help me I am denied. My only option is to pay $784.
I told you this whole true long story because I checked my Credit Score and it is now 499 from 6+‼️
If I had been made aware of the payment expected I would NOT have went forward with the acct. simply because it would be unaffordable for me.
From now on I don’t care how long the line is behind me, i must keep in mind I too am a paying customer & I will ask every question I can think of. In addition I will make it my business to read the fine print myself. Not listen to the sales person tell me what I am signing.

As I said earlier this comment turned out to be so so so unexpectedly long & I apologize I just couldn’t think of another way to make you aware of little things like cellular company pushing you long long awaited Credit Score to go up for them to knock it down‼️
Seriously,
Kick down by T-Mobil

Credit Karma Mixed Feelings About Credit Karma: A Review of the Free Credit Monitoring Site

I have been using Credit Karma for a while now and I have to say, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. At first, I was really impressed with the site's ability to give me a free credit score and report. It was great to be able to keep an eye on my credit without having to pay for it.

However, things took a turn for the worse when Credit Karma lowered my credit score by 9 points. According to them, this was based on information they received from Trans Union. But what really got me was that they also changed all of my credit limits to zero. This was obviously a mistake, as I knew for a fact that my credit limits were still intact.

I decided to contact a couple of my credit card issuers to see what was going on. They assured me that my credit limits were fine and that I was in good standing with them. So, I reached out to Credit Karma to see if they could explain what was happening. They told me that their records were based on what Trans Union gave them and suggested that I contact Trans Union directly.

I did just that and was pleasantly surprised by how helpful Trans Union was. They showed me that all of my credit card limits were indeed okay and in good standing. They also suggested that I contact Credit Karma again to see if they could sort things out.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about Credit Karma. On the one hand, it's great to have access to a free credit score and report. On the other hand, the site's accuracy can be questionable at times. It's frustrating to have to deal with mistakes like the one I experienced, but I suppose that's just part of the game when it comes to credit monitoring.

In conclusion, I would recommend Credit Karma with a grain of salt. It's a useful tool, but don't rely on it completely. Always double-check the information you receive and don't be afraid to reach out to your credit card issuers or credit bureaus if something seems off.

Credit Karma Credit Karma Review: Account Frozen Without Warning, Poor Customer Service & Lack of Urgency

So, I gotta tell ya, I had a bit of a rough time with Credit Karma. I signed up for their Money Spend account and everything was going fine for about a month. But then, out of nowhere, they froze my account because they thought there was some shady stuff going on. I mean, come on, I'm just a regular guy trying to manage my money here.

Anyway, I called them up to try and get it sorted out and they kept giving me the same old line: "it's been escalated to a higher team but they only do things by email." I mean, seriously? It's been over 10 days and I still haven't heard anything from them. And I know it's not just me, because my wife had the same issue with them.

The worst part is, I was in the middle of moving when this happened and I needed access to my money to pay the deposit and first month's rent on my new place. But because Credit Karma had frozen my account, I had to borrow over $5000 just to make ends meet. I mean, that's just not right.

Honestly, I don't think I'll be keeping my account with Credit Karma if they haven't closed it already. The lack of urgency to fix the issue is just really disappointing and frustrating. And to top it all off, it's pretty obvious that their customer service reps are just reading from a script. I mean, they say the same thing every time I call.

All in all, I'd say that Credit Karma has some serious work to do if they want to keep their customers happy. I mean, I get that they're trying to protect people from fraud and all that, but freezing someone's account without any warning or explanation is just not cool. So, if you're thinking about signing up with Credit Karma, just be aware that you might run into some issues down the line.

Credit Karma Credit Karma's Unfair Treatment: My Frustrating Experience Trying to Get My Rebate Check

So, I had a bit of a problem with Credit Karma. I was disputing a transaction that left me in the negative, and then my account got closed. I was pretty upset about it, so I called Credit Karma to see what was going on. They told me to talk to the company that claimed I owed them money, but I still couldn't access the app. I called Credit Karma back, and they told me to delete the app and add it back, which seemed to fix the problem.

But then, I found out that a rebate check had been sent to Credit Karma. I got a notification about it, but I still couldn't access my account. I called them up and asked about my money, and they said they would send it to me after they took their cut. I didn't think that was fair, so I disputed it with them. But they just gave me the same scripted response and said they would send it to a specialist.

Then, I got an email from them asking for my ID and a full utility bill in order to receive my money. But the email was so small that I could barely read it! I'm still waiting for my money, and it's been a whole month now. I keep getting the runaround from Credit Karma, and it's really frustrating. I don't think it's legal for them to refuse to mail me my money just because my account is closed. It's not fair!

Credit Karma Credit Karma Review: Helpful for Credit Report Monitoring, but Inaccurate Credit Score Estimates

Credit Karma is a website that can be helpful in showing you what factors are affecting your credit report. However, it's important to note that their system for calculating your credit score may not be accurate. For example, when my score was below 600, Credit Karma told me it was 660. This can be misleading and cause confusion for those trying to improve their credit.

Despite this, Credit Karma can still be useful in showing you what old loans and credit checks are still being reported to TransUnion and Equifax. It's important to keep track of this information to ensure that your credit report is accurate.

One issue with Credit Karma is that they do not have a real customer service department. Instead, they only offer computerized responses via email. When I tried to contact them, I received the same exact reply to every one of my messages, which was frustrating.

Overall, while Credit Karma can be helpful in some ways, it's important to take their credit score estimates with a grain of salt and not rely solely on their information. It's always a good idea to go to your bank and get a real credit score to ensure accuracy.

Credit Karma AutoPay Refinancing: False Advertising and Deceptive Practices

So, I was on Credit Karma last week to check my credit score. It was 748, which is pretty good, I think. Anyway, I saw this AutoPay teaser that said I could save $660 a year if I refinanced my car loan with them. I have a $6800 car loan with CapOne, and my monthly payment is $179. The interest rate is 4.37%, and I have about 36 months left on the loan.

I thought, "Wow, that sounds like a great deal!" So, I applied for the refinancing. I gave AutoPay all my information, and they said my new payment would be $124 a month for 60 months at 2.49% interest. I was so excited! I thought I was going to save so much money!

But then, after I applied, AutoPay switched the interest rate to 5.99% and my new payment was $194 a month! I couldn't believe it! I was so angry! I mean, why would they do that? It's like they were trying to trick me or something.

And then, when I tried to customize the options to get a lower payment, the interest rate went up to 6.74%! That's crazy! I would have ended up paying $2,347 in interest on top of my $6800 loan! That's not saving money at all!

So, I decided not to go through with the refinancing. I don't want to pay more money than I have to. Plus, now I have a credit inquiry on my record for the next two years. That's not good either.

I was so upset about the whole thing that I decided to write a review on Credit Karma. I posted it five days ago, but it still hasn't been posted. I guess Credit Karma doesn't want people to know the truth about AutoPay. That's why I came to this site to share my experience.

Overall, I'm not happy with Credit Karma. They shouldn't be promoting something that's not true. It's not fair to their customers. I hope they do something about it soon.

Credit Karma Inconsistent and Frustrating: My Experience with Credit Karma

I've been using Credit Karma for a couple of years now and I have to say, it's been a rollercoaster ride. When I first signed up, my credit score was a dismal 490. But with the help of Credit Karma, I was able to get my finances in order and make every single payment on time. I even paid off all my credit cards every month! And it paid off - my score started to climb and I was finally cresting a 700.

But then, disaster struck. My credit score dropped not once, but twice, by 25 to 35 points each time. Now my score is in the mid-600s, which makes it pretty tough to buy a house. I can never trust that my timing is right because my scores are all over the place. It's frustrating to say the least.

What's even more frustrating is that the information on Credit Karma contradicts itself. I've made hundreds of on-time payments, but my derogatory length of credit usage has changed multiple times over the years. How is that even possible? I've watched this religiously, daily, and it's just not making sense.

I worked hard to get my credit to a decent place, only to have Credit Karma and the three bureaus make a mockery of credit. They take away 40 points and give back 7. It feels like a pay-to-play system, and it's not fair.

I know Credit Karma is a free service, but that's no excuse for the inconsistencies and frustrations I've experienced. There are many factors at play, but it's still frustrating to see my hard work undone by something out of my control.

I hope Credit Karma can address these issues and provide a more reliable service in the future. Until then, I'll be keeping a close eye on my credit score and doing my best to stay on top of my finances.

Credit Karma Credit Karma's Loan Offer Ruined My Credit Score: A Warning to All

Oh my goodness, I had a terrible experience with Credit Karma. I have been working so hard to fix my credit and was excited when I received an offer from them for a loan option to pay off my debts, consolidate them, or just use the loan for general purposes. I logged in to see what my options were and read carefully that getting pre-approved would not affect my credit score. I thought, "Great, let's see what I can get!" I answered three questions and then it happened - my score dropped 58 points! I was so upset that I ended up having a panic attack and had to go to the emergency room. I couldn't believe that Credit Karma would do this to me. It just didn't seem realistic. I will never, ever take advantage of this offer with a 27% interest rate. Beware, everyone! If you think you're just doing a pre-approval, they trick you into filling out the application itself. Even though they sent me an email earlier stating that it was only a pre-app, my score still dropped significantly. I'm praying for strength to get through this and I promise to tell everyone about my experience. I'll fight until the end, even if it means dying to get my story out there.

Credit Karma Disappointed with Credit Karma's Customer Service: A Review

So, I was really excited to use Credit Karma (creditkarma.com) to help me keep track of my credit score and finances. I had heard great things about it from my friends and family, so I decided to give it a try.

At first, everything seemed to be going smoothly. I was able to sign up easily and start tracking my credit score right away. I even got some helpful tips on how to improve my score and manage my finances better.

However, things took a turn for the worse when I tried to cash a check that I had received through Credit Karma. They told me that the check had been sent on July 7th and that I should expect it to arrive at my house within 7-10 business days. They even gave me a specific date, July 21st, and told me to call if it didn't arrive by then.

Well, the 21st came and went, and the check still hadn't arrived. I called Credit Karma, and they told me to wait another 24 hours and call back if it still hadn't come. I did as they said, but the check still didn't arrive. This went on for several days, with Credit Karma telling me to wait 24 hours each time I called.

Finally, I asked if they could reissue the check, but they refused, saying that it might still arrive. They also told me that they had no information available and that the issue had been escalated to their highest team. This was the same thing they had told me back in May when I first reported the problem.

I asked to speak to the highest team, but they said they couldn't connect me or give me any information. I'm at a loss for what to do now. It's frustrating to have to wait so long for a check that may never arrive, and it's even more frustrating to feel like I'm not getting any help from Credit Karma.

Overall, I'm disappointed with my experience with Credit Karma. While the service itself is helpful, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I hope they can improve in the future and provide better support for their users.

Credit Karma Garbage support . I mean it sincerely

Got a new iPhone couple months ago and ever since could not log back in the app nor website . Support is utterly useless.. and I mean more useless than a wet paper bag in a rain storm. All they do is send you the FAQ from website even though none of it applies to me. No, I am not using a vpn nor am I outside the US. Get ready to say that over and over. Finally they’ll just say seems our security software has unfortunately caused this. Then no solution.. no nothing. I can even do forgotten password, change the password and when I try to log in using new password same problem over and over (though it lets me change the password!). I have reset password and tried from desktop, mobile browser and app.. no luck. Credit karma is unreachable error on app. Credit karma is having technical issue please try again later on desktop browser. Tech support .. more like canned generic response or automated send of FAQ. Can’t even delete my account if I wanted. Truly a disastrously run app/company.

*My support / case number : [protected]

I have contacted support multiple times and same run around. Let me reiterate; I am in the US and Not using vpn. Also the FAQ section doesn’t help as I have done all that and none of really applied me. So stop sending that useless FAQ section over and over.

Credit Karma No longer helpful

I have used CK for years. When I first got it it was awesome. The scores were accurate, and you could dispute things right from the app. Now though, the scores are off by more than 50 points. My thought is that CK gets paid every time you click their ads to sign up so the lie about your scores so you get a credit card or loan off their site. After an update almost a year ago I had something disputed and it still hasn’t gone away to where I can dispute something else. I have called TU and they said it’s been settled. CK is no longer a good tool. Remember, they are not the only company that does this.

EDIT*** In response to developers reply, I understand that there are different scoring methods, but two of my credit cards show a hundred point difference as does my mortgage lender. If your scoring method is that far off and outdated, maybe it’s time to go to a more recent scoring method.
And I have been in contact with credit karma numerous times about the dispute issue. The response is always the same. It’s on TransUnions end. They always tell me the dispute is on credit Karmas end.

I love credit karma, but you boost scores in order to sell the credit cards advertised on your site. Read any recent reviews about CK and see for yourself. I am not the only one who has this kind of difference in scores.

Credit Karma Ineffectual

Beyond the novelty of being able to monitor your credit rating from the various reporting agencies, and challenge credit items in app, this app has been worthless to me.
Following Credit Karma's suggestions has had no effect on my rating, with no explanation as to why, and no way to find out. The credit coach just gives generic suggestions which are never relevant to what I'm looking for, making it a total waste of time.
Yesterday was the final straw.
My only goal has been to raise my score 20 points. I've been treading water, while not using my credit cards which have minimal balances and perfect pay history.
So yesterday I get an email notification: Congratulations, your credit score has improved. Clicking the link took me to a page which announced that my score went DOWN 7 points. Huh? Clicking the details showed that I lowered balances on two cards, but added a whopping $200 in charges on one card.
Looking for an explanation, the suggestion I got was to apply for more credit and make timely payments. Of course I was shown a page of CC and loan offers from their affiliates, featuring insane interest rates in excess of what I could find on my own, with my present rating.
I can't imagine how anyone looking for guidance in raising their credit score could give this waste of space more than two stars.

Credit Karma They never honor their promotions

This is the second time that I’ve done a promotion through Credit Karma that they said they would pay me some money as soon as I had completed it and once again I’ve had to call and talk to customer service they say they don’t even know what the promotion is I take a screenshot of it makes no sense as I did it through the app this promotion was letting them track you and you’re driving habits for a certain amount of time and instantly you get $25 and your spend account still haven’t seen that money and I keep asking for screenshots whoever takes a screenshot of a promotion that an app asked you to take part in? because you need proof later maybe for them but most apps just honor their promotions that one before that was a promotion that if I opened a checking account and savings account and funded a dollar in each I get $25 in my account I had to fight tooth and nail for that they told me the same things we don’t recognize promotion we need screenshots and finally because I hassle them so much they actually did what they said they were going to do and gave me the money to be another negative is there odds for credit approval they’re promoting upgrade for a while which would just turn 1 million people down after being preapproved and all the outstanding yards end up dinging your credit report get it together credit Karma

Credit Karma App Refreshes After Switching Between Apps

The Credit Karma app is nice. I like the interface, it’s a lot easier to browse and navigate than it used to be. However, there’s one thing that really bothers me about the app..

I was in the middle of copying some basic contact details for Equifax, because I need to contact their customer service next week. However, after switching over to the Contacts app, which was very brief, I switched back over to Credit Karma, but instead of displaying the page I was on - an internal Equifax webpage (but presented to me through the Credit Karma app) - I was brought back to the main Credit Karma app homepage.

Normally, I don’t even bother with writing reviews, because there are usually more than enough already. But this one was completely called for.

If the developers of this app actually read this comment (which is one of my goals here), I really hope they will consider fixing this issue in the future. To be honest, every other financial app I use - whenever I switch between apps - they either prompt me for an app-specific custom PIN, or I am prompted to use FaceID/device PIN. Being that I was logged into Equifax via Credit Karma, this additional request for PIN/faceID would be helpful and secure.

Once this issue gets addressed, I will gladly change my rating AND review for the better, as this is my one and only chief concern with using the Credit Karma app.

Thanks for reading!

Credit Karma Issue after issue bad customer service / support

Honestly customer service was bad have not got my issue resolved and no update through email about my situation. Iv been told to have another bank to transfer funds and honestly might as well have. I requested a new debit card cause I stupidly misplaced it thinking it was lost (my mistake ). But when I found it, I called to see if they already sent a new one debit card. Provider told me I had to do it myself by going to the app or computer and go to setting. But guess what, the setting both on the app and on the computer was faded out, I can click on setting even when I restarted it and updated it the link, app, phone…I can’t get it to work. Then I informed on my email that the case was closed cause I haven’t spoken or emailed the tech support? Really I have called several days straight to know what is the update on my debit card! Everything was going last year but this year I wouldn’t recommend this online bank to anyone. Also credit karma can’t send a new debit card to me even though they have access to my account info , my debit card last numbers, transactions like really? I have to get a response from tech support about having access to settings to then request it myself a new card that can take up to 7-10 business days? Instead of having the ability to send it themselves once a member call for such issue comes where the member can’t request it themselves? Honestly just frustrating

Credit Karma Kent Butler

Seems like there is a too much time fluctuation in balances and also inconsistencies . If a person temporarily puts something on a card, it seems the scores go down immediately whereas if one pays the card down, it has to crawl back up the chart at a snail’s pace. Also, one has long term debts as well as credit card debts that affect one’s score. I’ve noticed one might pay a lot on a long term debt and affect his score very little in comparison as a credit card debt. Granted, more than likely, this debt is spread out over time, but if one pays off quicker, the score should follow quicker. I also, realize the situations I mentioned are more just passed along as the rating companies do as they want, but it still adds to or takes away from the working experience on CK’s site.

Adding to the above review, which obviously doesn’t get read anyway, I have a card that I use that has no credit to it whatsoever— I get paid on this card and transfer money from it as I use it to purchase things as one would with cash. Anyway, my card information was compromised and I had to utilize “credit”cards until a new card was issued and the situation was addressed. Of course my score took another hit because that’s the way it works. It immediately goes down but takes forever to go back up even if the card is immediately repaid. Exactly, how can a person use a card and not get punished even if he pays off often?

Credit Karma ⭐️⭐️

Added comment 04/17

Thank you to Credit Karma for a response to my post. I have to correct what I previously posted. After looking at the list you sent me of tax forms your accept it wasn’t the 1099-sa as I mentioned it was the 5498-sa. I know the form isn’t issued until the following year after Apr 15 but there was no place to enter my current year contributions to my HSA. Since I wasn’t able to input that (maybe I was doing something wrong) I had to go to Turbo Tax. I wish your support team would have been able to help me with this.

Thanks again. I’ll try again next year.

This is a great app. So much so I tell everyone I can about it because it truly is free unlike the others out there. Also I love the new feature of informing us of any compromises we may have.

Reason the app is not getting 5 Stars is because for the second year in a row I wanted to complete my taxes through Credit Karma but the HSA form 1099-SA was not available for me to enter. I even contacted support this year and they told me they don’t allow for that form. There has to be a lot others out there that have a Health Spending Account.

Can’t understand if the app says free reporting for both state and federal no matter what my status and here I can’t because they don’t allow people with a HSA account to use it.

Hopefully I’ll give it another year and maybe just maybe they will get with the program.

Credit Karma Inaccurate. Filled with terrible financial advice

While it can be a way to track your general credit status, CK uses vantagescore, which isn’t appropriate if you’re actually trying to do something beneficial for your financial situation, like paying off debt.

This app is riddled with paid advertisements from credit companies, banks, and lenders. It should be clear to anyone with half a brain that this app’s ultimate purpose has nothing to do with the consumers’ best interests. It’s created and maintained by a company who receives most of its profits from banks, lenders, and creditors by enticing consumers into taking on more debt or opening additional lines of credit.

It approached predatory, how they present credit, mortgage, or personal loan offers to you. Heaven forbid you click on a link in search of more affordable auto insurance, or you’ll be subjected to a dozen phone calls every day from ravenous insurance salesman.

If you’re just looking to keep an eye on your credit report, or using it’s free features, then sure I can see value in this. The caveat, is that you’ll be inundated with ads for bad financial advice. If you’re trying to get out of debt, don’t fall into the trap of opening a new loan account or credit card.

Remember: independently wealthy people don’t get there by using credit cards! Be smart! Change your lifestyle! Take back control of your money and give a big middle finger to the corrupt and predatory credit system pervading our society.

Credit Karma 0 stars if I could

Few things. First Credit Karma may give you “some kind of idea” where your credit is. But it’s not accurate. Second they have a feature where you can use credit karma money. I had it for around 7 months. I opened it when I did my taxes last year as credit Karma and Turbo Tax partnered up. Well I had my paychecks set up to Credit Karma Spend. I received my first check. Didn’t receive my second. I called Credit Karma they informed me my account was locked. They told me they would have it unlocked or contact me in 24 hours I emailed them everyday for a week and they had not fixed it. I couldn’t get a new check until my account was closed or unlocked so I had to close my account. I tried to open a new one because again I HAVE to have one for tax purposes. They informed me they can’t open a new one or the old one. “It’s just the way they work.” My fiancé as soon as he set up his tax refund to go in there received an email saying his account will be closed in 15 days with absolutely no way to now change his tax stuff. So we will have to wait for months for him to get his refund. They have the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. Which is my third thing. Their customer service is awful. They won’t let you speak with a supervisor immediately. They have to “contact you back.” And then they never do. Stay FAR away from credit karma. And until Turbo decides they aren’t partnering with Credit Karma stay Away from them.

Credit Karma Poor customer service

I tried to get on the app a few months ago for obvious reasons but the app somehow logged me out which was strange but it's fine because it's me and I know my email and password no problem. The problem came when they said they couldn't verify my identity. Strange considering I had just input my last 4 a week earlier to make the account on the app but okay I'm me so I don't see the problem. Yet. Then it prompts my camera and asks for a picture of my license. Okay, strange but sure. 6 pictures later and it locks me out saying it couldn't verify the ID. I didn't stand at the DMV for 3 hours for a fake license but okay. I sent an email to the email address the prompt gave me and I immediately got a response saying that the email address wasn't one I could actually email. A little frustrating but okay I get on the website itself to find the actual email and I find out it's all through the website. Okay, fine I fill out the form and send it. It's been about a month and I haven't heard back from them yet. I emailed them again today thinking I was got sent down to the bottom because of new complaints that have piled up over the last month and I actually found that a lot more people than me have had unpleasant experiences with this app. An astounding amount. Don't waste your time ask your bank for a report instead. Probably more accurate than 2 of the 3 reporting bureaus anyway. They'll probably reply to this before my email from a month ago.

Credit Karma Don’t ever use their debit card system!

I never write reviews but I’m so frustrated with their customer service regarding my issues it has to be done.

TurboTax had suggested I deposit my return to credit karma as it should arrive sooner than normal banking deposit. So I did. I requested a new debit card because I never used my old one and it was miss placed. Waited almost 3 weeks for it to come in. When it did the debit card numbers were the SAME AS MY OLD ONE! therefor it could not be activated. When I called asking them to expedite a new card they argued with me and refused the first time. Called back they said they put it through and it must be reviewed but I was able to use my digital card for the time being.

The digital card was accepted on things like Amazon, however when I went to pay off debt and bills the payment would say processed and give me a confirmation number BUT WAS NEVER ACTUALLY PAID. upon contacting the bill companies they said they had no records of the transaction and I would have contact credit karma.

When I did they could not understand what I was trying to say, they constantly read from a script and when I asked the about the status of my physical card I was told there was no records of me ordering a new one. It has been a complete nightmare to say the least and I will refuse to use this system again.

It is unfortunate because I’ve used it for building my credit up for years absolutely loved it! I am extremely disappointed and it was made very clear they do not care about customer’s problems or concerns nor are they willing to help in the slightest way!
