I sent this to their information email and the result was another voicemail from my storage location to call. I sent the email to get a written response. I don’t think that is unreasonable. I have today filled out a form to corporate but I believe it will be just more of the same. Meanwhile TikTok TikTok the days are passing when my storage rent will be as much as a mortgage payment for this area.
Email sent (pictures were of their ad for current rates $140/month and my increase to almost $500/month)
I am presently renting a storage facility at CubeSmart location
2680 E Mohawk Lane
Phoenix, AZ 85050
I was looking for an additional unit because I had more storage and looked online where it said for $113/month (today for $140.00/month)
I could have the exact same unit that I have now (except I pay $360/month).

I texted the managers there to inquire about an additional unit at that time.
They answered I should come in or call and they can discuss it.
I have TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) so I like to do everything written, because my retention is flawed.
Meanwhile some medical issues came up and the next thing I know I get a statement that my rate is increasing to almost $500/month.

At this point I feel this is price gouging and I think I want to move out to another storage place. Or perhaps I can just move my present stuff to a $140/month place instead in the same facility and rent another $140/month unit for my additional furniture?
Please address the options for both (move out/move over) and the legal notice required for each, as I would like to resolve this before the rate hike goes into effect on 1 Oct 2024.
I appreciate your time and attention.

Desired outcome: A written response to my two simple questions in my email so I can proceed with either moving out, moving over or getting a reduced rate.

I am happy to report that the district manager of CubeSmart emailed me and my issue will be resolved immediately! Very thankful as life with TBI after being brilliant is so difficult! Thank you!
So sorry for your situation. I think, like most businesses today, that the bottom line is more important than morals or ethics. I see it in the healthcare field, banks, everywhere.
Even grocery stores would rather throw food away rather than feed the hungry. On their side, they get surd if somebody else doesn't handle the food properly.
Regular people just want to work and live the best lives they can. There is a big disconnect when (outrageous) profit supercedes the ability for people to own homes, a car to go to work or food to feed their children.
Good luck to you.
I hope you are doing well and thank You for your service to our country...(Too bad thieving, selfish, egotistical, CEO'S can't be of some help to people rather than feeding their own fat faces, on their fancy yachts or in their fancy mansions.) Congratulations for getting a good outcome from CubeSmart. It's not moral and is very evil of these people in power at CubesSmart to be ripping off people, me included.
I'm going to try to get some action from the Denver, CO District manager, MIKE PFEIFER, about my case. My unit is advertised at $45.70 a month and my wife and I have been paying $172.00 since 2016. It is now 01/2025. It was lower right at first then rocketed to this insane price. It's the lack of principals and morals of these so called Hot Shots and GREEDY CEO'S that make life more difficult than it already is! Not to mention how much this infuriates me! How many mansions can a greedy CEO be in at the same time!? They make my blood boil !
I trusted them to be honest ! I went over my payments today and found out how much money that they, literally, stole from us. I don't care what their "fine print" contract says! A person shouldn't have to take the rental agreement to an attorney to be looked over before renting a STORAGE unit. It should be in black and white and plain to understand. They clearly are in the business of ripping people off!
We are taking our things out before the end of the month, so as not to get ripped off for next month. It's the sentimental value things in the unit that can not be replaced, not the material possessions that we paid for in rent MANY times over their value.
Hopefully we can get a refund of the over charges. If not, we are prepared to sue.
