My furnace wasn't heating right so I called Dean's Home Services. They dispatched their technician, TJ O, within a short couple of hours. He listened to all the info I could give him and thoroughly checked the furnaces systems to diagnose the problem. He also discussed risks/benefits of my options to repair vs replacing my 21 yo furnace. He was very professional and explained everything. Wendy H

Tony first came and did an initial consultation. He brings a very honest and friendly relationship to the customer. Starring them in a money saving way. He did not let us be taken advantage of. Brandon came out the second time for the actual inspection and work. He was was very friendly, offered great advice and educated us on air flow and our vent system/ furnace. He fixed things appropriately and efficiently.
Overpriced for what was needed to be done to remove water pressure booster pump
Tim was great answering all my questions (I had many) and helped me feel confident in the updates that were being made to my pipes/bathroom. He was very thorough and left the place clean after they had to cut into dry wall. Thank you Tim for being patient with me!

This company installed a furnace four years ago. Over the past two years, there have been times when the furnace would not start due to a problem detected by a low pressure sensor. I was unimpressed with Dean's during the installation so had this inspected by a different service provider. Turns out they installed intake/exhaust PVC that was inadequate in diameter for the size of the furnace. Avoid Dean's. Over priced, difficult to work with and from what I learned this week, incompetent.
Dean's Home Services does a fantastic job with anything we need! We have had many technicians out over the past few month's since we joined Dean's Club and each of them has been great. They are very professional, straight forward, friendly, and efficient.
Dean's home professional was thorough and respectful of the home while checking both the inside and outside for electrical issues. He provided me with a list including costs of all my issues ranging from needs to wants.

I paid $99 for service plus on a previous job which was supposed to give free estimate. Had a electrician over to look at potential power leak. After putting a meter on a couple wires and pulling a few breakers. I was told I need a new box at $5-6000 and should rewire house at $25,000. Well I said I cant afford that now since I am unemployed. So I was told I would have to pay for diagnostic. He said 20 minutes plus his 30 minute drive. Who charges for arrival? So if he was 5 minutes away it would be cheaper or good thing he wasn't coming from Duluth. Taxi companies or UBER don"t even charge for driving to your house. So they gave me a "deal" at $125. Their prices are high. The previous job was quoted a day for $800. Guy got it done in 3 but no reduced rate.
Matthew L., Plumbing Technician, did my free evaluation. He was timely and friendly to me and my dogs. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He suggested many options, upon my request. I would confidently recommend his service and will plan to book service with him. Dean's hires the friendliest and most knowledgeable people. I always have exceptional technicians.

I had 3 faucets replaced this last Friday 7/31 early in the day, the service tech was nice and was professional
I had 3 faucets replaced this last Friday 7/31 early in the day, the service tech was nice and was professional. But Friday after coming home from work I noticed the issue's with the new faucets the one in the kitchen is loose at the base of the sink and is not stable, also their seems to be no caulking around any of the replaced faucets. I called Deans on Friday afternoon after I can home from work and saw the problems to have them come out and fix the issues. But they can not come out until Monday and could not give me time frame as to when they would arrive. They should of come out on Friday or at least on Saturday seeing they had just installed the new faucets. I hope they will fix the issue on Monday. Also they are very expensive I should of got several other estimates before getting the work done.

YES. THIS SHOULD BE ZERO STARS AS WELL. Someone from Dean's came out to look at a minor electrical problem at the house. We were quoted an $89.00 basic service charge for showing up at the door. So this electrician comes into the house with his little voltage meter or something, sticks it an outlet, found no issues, went down to our electrical panel, again found no issues. He comes up from the basement and said the charge for his so called "service" would be $220.00! When when questioned him about the cost, he became a little arrogant and said that was the cost to drive 40 minutes and the cost opening up the electrical panel downstairs. Unbelievable! What a scam! My wife complained to a manger and she wouldn't budge. I guess lost customers are not an important issue to Dean's. Customer service certainly is not! We will never use the sham outfit again! PERIOD!

It's time to replace the 31 yr old furnace & central air unit. Brandon S. Was the young gentleman that came out to give us an estimate and he was absolutely great. He was on time, professional, incredibly knowledgeable and most importantly he was transparent and honest. I have been on the construction sales side for 18 years and he is definitely a sales person that I wish I had on our team! He answered each question and for the questions he wasn't exactly 100% on, he admitted it(was a complete technical/installation question)and made the call he needed to in order to confirm it. We still have 1 company coming out to give us an estimate. However, If our decision was based solely on the sales person & the company, we would have signed with him on the spot without having a 2nd thought. If you contact Dean's for an estimate, ask for Brandon S. You will not be disappointed.
OVERPRICED!
OVERPRICED! We called Dean's because they were able to come for same day service. Our water heater went out and we wanted a quote to repair or replace. It was suggested we replace, each option presented being more expensive than the next. I should have listened to my gut, that it was over priced. The "salesman" who came out and did the diagnostic work and sold us the water heater isn't the same installer. They send out another person for that job. While the technician did fine work, we realized we WAY overpaid for the services. When I asked for a break down of my bill, they refused to do it. I asked more than once and also called them. They will not break down the bill into parts and labor because they are overcharging, and they know it. We compared prices elsewhere, unfortunately after the fact. We overpaid by about $1,000. We will not be repeat customers nor will recommend to friends.

My appointment, for an estimate, was promptly scheduled and expectations explained. The day of that appointment, I received the 2 expected phone calls before the electrician arrived. Seth W. arrived, masked, and carefully covered his footwear before entering our home. He did a thorough examination of our problem; explained what steps would bring about a good resolution; presenting a written estimate that we felt was reasonable. On the day of the job, Seth and Matt arrived; shortly after Emily from the office called to make sure we were home and clear of any symptoms of Covid-19. Despite the late arrival of their materials, from the courier service, the 2 of them completed the job within a reasonable amount of time; working competently and carefully. Even their cleanup was well done. If this is an example of the way all jobs are handled by Dean's, we would have no hesitation in contacting this company for other services we may need at a later date.

SHOULD BE ZERO STARS I called Dean's a few years ago when my furnace went out. They came out got it fixed quickly. Last week Jeff came out for my free furnace inspection and tells me that the CO2 levels are too high and then tells me they need to red tag and shut down my furnace. He tells me I have two options, I can replace the heat exchanger for $1000 (I would need to wait a week) or get a new furnace for $4500. I ask if my CenterPoint maintenance plan would cover the repairs and he tells me no they won't. Given it was going to start getting cold, I decide to purchase a new furnace. After Jeff leaves, I call around to see if I can get a second opinion. During my calls with another company, they mention that Dean's is known to red tag equipment, I told them what my readings were and they said they wouldn't red tag it and shut it down. They also mention that I should contact the company that installed it 8 years ago because it is likely under warranty still. Of course Jeff didn't mention that because he was too busy deceiving me into thinking I needed a new furnace. I decided to call CenterPoint and they came out immediately because I was led to believe my CO2 settings were high. Their tech arrives on site and sees they are a little high but again not a level to shut it down or replace. Tech cleans up the burners and I am good to go. I wasted an entire afternoon trying to find out if I really needed replaced! These guys are crooks!

Ty was so very nice and took great care in finding the root of the electrical problem. He came early and worked until the electricity was working in all the rooms that were affected. Ty cleaned all the rooms he worked in and left me with working electricity. Very professional and I would use Dean's again in the future.
